Great polish platter. I liked the perogies and hubby liked the Golabki. We both enjoyed the pancakes. We also tried the fish fry. Which was huge and could have went with half a portion. The sides are homemade and good. I would come back.

I was craving a fish fry so my cousin suggested we come here. Thankfully it wasn't to busy so we got seated right away. The food was great & flavorful. It came out quickly as well. Portions are humongous so come hungry. The ambiance is a little old and traditional for a pub but regardless they kept it nice and clean. Overall, I enjoyed my time here & the food was great!

Cheese pierogi were sweet. Only savory pierogi should be served with onion.

It's fine that this is not my local bar. After the second visit, I am sure that I can easily live without the Pubski Pub and vice versa. We both tried. Hopefully there won't be any hard feelings after my updated review. Who cares about my opinion, especially since it looks like I'm one of the few who didn't have a good experience at this place. On both of the Fridays we visited, the Pubski Pub was packed with customers. For me, the best thing was being part of such a vibrant crowd. I knew it was mostly about loyal people who visited regularly, probably since the place was known as the Anchor Inn. The two Polish flags hanging in the windows are probably also remnants of the previous owners. On our second visit, I just wanted to sample their 'pierogi'. We ordered from the 'Polish Favorites' section of the menu. I chose 'Three Pierogi' -- cheese, potato and sauerkraut ($10). My partner decided to have their signature 'Pubski Burger'. When it comes to traditional Polish cuisine, my bar is quite high. Imagine that I am that "Polish Babcia" who goes to restaurants to try Polish food in Buffalo, NY ;). After forty-five (?!) minutes, our food arrived. Not only was the wait time ridiculous, but they also managed to mess up my order. In the end, I was able to try three types of pierogi. The cheese 'pierogi' were surprisingly on the sweet side. It should be served with sweet cream, melted butter and sugar. The sauerkraut 'pierogi' had an unpleasant aftertaste. Also, the filling was too crunchy, and way too buttery. It simply wasn't prepared long enough, with no attention to details. The potato 'pierogi' were boring. Everything was greasy, covered with wrongly chopped onion that wasn't caramelized properly. The dough wasn't bad, but there was just too much of it. Either way, when it comes to 'pierogi', the "bigger is better" approach doesn't work well. We thought the signature 'Pubski Burger' would have a wow factor, but no. It was just a boiled or lightly cooked meat patty made of fresh sausage not smoked, charred, or grilled. It was a good Costanza roll and was topped with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. Was there anything like Krupnik mustard? I truly don't know. I have the impression that no one really cares about the quality of the meals served. The "Pubski Pub', very likely, had a solid jump start with a great chef, but he must be long gone by now. P. S. I'm not a regular at any bar.

Had to try taco Tuesday at Pubski. Ordered a chicken taco mild and a steak taco. Both are huge and delicious. They only have tacos on Tuesday. Waitress was friendly and very accommodating. Give it a try next time you're out that way.

Changed it up and went somewhere that we have not been to to try a local fish fry for Lent. The Pubski Pub has a large bar area and a roomy dining area adjacent to the bar. We were seated right away upon arrival, and the place was busy for a usual Friday out. Ordered drinks and food, well drinks and a beer battered fish fry and a lemon pepper broiled fish fry. The server asked if we wanted the full or half portion, so we ordered the full. Took about an hour for the food to come out, but we were in no hurry and being as busy as it was, didn't expect to be quick. When the food came out, the full portion was actually two pieces of fish! If we had known that, we would have both ordered the half portion. All the salads were home-made from what we could tell. The beer battered was light and crispy, and the broiled was moist and tender. The rye bread was so fresh that it was soft. Made me think this may have been freshly baked as well. So I would recommend d coming in with a healthy appetite or plan on taking leftovers home!

Haven't been to Pubski Pub in a while. Use to come here a lot. This will most likely be my last time. They have raised their menu prices quite a bit. I got a rueben sandwich which I have had here a lot and always loved. Well...not this time. They used to make very good ones but this one was burned on both sides. Can you see the black on it? The bread was quite hard. The corned beef was dry and I have had their macaroni salad before and what I got today was definitely not homemade. Had that disgusting, thin fake mayo that is even worse than Miracle Whip!! Barely any chopped veggies in it and very bland... absolutely no flavor. No more for me.

An outstanding fish fry in a traditional Buffalo setting. A few cold beers and conversation with old friends made a wonderful lunch.

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

Hubs and I came for dinner with four friends a couple weeks back and though it was a splurge, I have no regrets. Everything I had was delicious. We had: Focaccia Roasted Carrots Wagyu strip Rhubarb Panna Cotta Pineapple Pavlova I also had a Freakin' Beacon mocktail. Everything was SO GOOD. That focaccia was like no other focaccia I'd ever had but was delicious; crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. The steak (med rare) was perfect to me, hubs thought it was a tiny bit too rare for him. It was super tender and easy to eat, perfect char. I couldn't eat the chimmichurri it came with as it has Thai basil (not usual in chimmichurri, but I'm allergic, and the server was very good about asking about allergies) but honestly, it didn't need it. That steak stood on its own. Both desserts were delicious, but to my surprise I think the pavlova was even better than the panna cotta (and I love panna cotta). The portions were very generous and I was pretty stuffed by the time I got home. Our portion of the bill was over $200 (hubs also had some cocktails and the steak alone was almost $90) but it was so good, we'll want to come back when we're in town for sure.

The craziest part about it is that Winfield's Pub is literally just 10 minutes from my House. A conveniently small place that packs big Bold Flavors. Like as you are driving down Ridge Road towards the main Lackawanna area. A place that if you want to enjoy, you'd have to park in front of it or park on the Side Streets of the neighborhood across from it and walk over. After trying out their Food at a Stillwater Farm Dinner consisting or Birria Tacos and Sausage stuffed Chicken Breast. To me that was a nice welcoming Card telling me to come right away instead of wasting more time ignoring the Place. You walk up 3 Steps and in you are greeted by the Owner's wife Sherryl, the Owner and the Head of Winfield's (Tab Daulton) is running the show making sure food gets pumped out of their Small Kitchen. While their son Thomas is at the Bar making Cocktails of the highest Quality with some of the most unique names that I've ever heard. My 1st visit was enjoying a Birthday Dinner with loved ones in the center of the Restaurant. While going over the menu, I had my 1st Cocktail called The Ghostwriter in a tall cylindrical glass that had Gin, Herbal Liqueur, Coconut, Lime, Lemongrass Syrup & Dill. Sweet and Herbaceous. Next up was some Fresh made Focaccia Bread studded with Rosemary, Garlic, Tomatoes and Zucchini that was so Warm and Flavorful like it just came right out the Oven. You know I like to drink Beer and cook with it too, I couldn't help but get myself a cup of their Beer Cheese soup with Bratwurst and Housemade Croutons. Every single Spoonful I took was Rich with a hint of Spicy heat at the end. Next up was a plate off Duck Confit Poutine with Goat Cheese (I opted for that instead of Cheese Curds). You might look at it and see a big globby mess but what I saw and what I ate was pure Gluttonous Heaven. French Fries, bits of Rich and Tender Duck Meat and mild and Tangy Cheese which equaled a comforting Bite. Next was another Cocktail I got called the Dirty Harry (named after one of Clint Eastwood's best-known roles). Another drink that hit hard consisting of Pineapple, Doctor Bird Rum, Boomsa Herbal Liquor and Banana Shrub Jam. While waiting for my main course, I tried some of Nathan's BBQ Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Who doesn't like tender Pieces of Meat with the outside bring Crispy while the Meat inside just melts away on your Tongue. For our Entrees, everyone enjoyed something different like Nathan and Brianna having Seared Chicken with Vegetables, Mike enjoying a Burger, Rick just getting a few Appetizers, Grandma Carol eating Fish Tacos, Jimmy and Kathy enjoying a Steak. While I got myself Seared Scallops over Sweet Corn Risotto with Tarragon. This looked to me and ate like a Summer Dish, why on earth was it on the Menu during close to Fall/Winter, I don't know. But I'll say this, I loved every bite, you get Sweetness from both the Seafood and the Corn with the Tarragon at the end giving it a light hit of Licorice. Thomas kindly gave me a Complimentary Drink while waiting for Dessert called the Legislation #2. It had Rye Whiskey, Dry Vermouth, Orange Cognac and Acidic Phosphate. While it had all those Ingredients, it was a simple looking Drink with a Jurassic sized Ice Cube in it. But I will say this, this drink packed one heck of a Potent Punch. To finish off the Meal, I got myself a big slice of Guinness Chocolate Cake. One of my favorite Beers has been Transformed into a Dessert. It had such a Deep chocolate Flavor with richness from the frosting packed in between each layer. I walked over and personally thank Tab and his Crew for the great Food that night. The only issue we had was waiting to get our Checks, but other than that everything went great. Another one to cross off my list, another restaurant that I will no longer Ignore. Winfield's better be ready for some more Visits from me in the Future. !!!
