I have been here twice first time was a 5 star visit second time not so much on first visit help to my car with groceries was nearly automatic and everyone was very friendly on my second visit as I am push my cart with one hand and using a cane with other hand an employee asked if I needed help as I am leaving and since I am handicapped I noticed they only have 6 handicap parking spots which were full on a Tuesday afternoon around 330 so I had to park a long way from entrance and as I was walking again with one hand pushing cart and one hand with a cane I passed by a store employee who was so busy with her conversation with a customer she never acknowledged me as I walked past her first with my groceries and then I walked past her a second time to park my grocery cart I am afraid that exemplary customer service may already be lost read more

We come here for the amazing customer service and the deli/prepared foods. We have ordered cupcakes and sandwich/fruit platters for parties. You can order online and they make it so easy. Check out the website before you go to the trouble to fix for for your next get together. The variety and quality truly set Publix apart. That said, we do not live close and so do not shop here regularly. Their prices on regular groceries are a little higher than others, but for special occasions this is the place to go. read more

Ordered a birthday cake from the bakery. Asked for pastel colors for the balloons and writing and received the cake with regular colors. Didn't have time to get a new one made so we had to just take it as is. Many people had recommended how great the bakery at this Publix was but I'm disappointed that my daughter's cake was not done how we asked. If they couldn't have done pastels, a call would have been nice so I could change the color request, but that was not done. Will not get any cakes done here in the future. read more

Was excited to check out Publix today! It's brand new and super clean. The customer service was very good. The large of any true organic items minus strawberries/apples was enough to make it our last trip. Harris Teeter is pricier but has so much more organic foods. Eating apples, strawberries, blueberries etc that are not organic is like eating Raid. read more

I live very close so I go to Publix just about every other day. The young Asian girl that works self-check out is racist. Every time I am in there she stand literally right behind me when checking out. She does not do this with others that are checking out. The price was wrong at self check out once before and she would not give that price because the one I wanted to purchase was a different flavor than what was pictured in the ad but it was still eligible for the sale price. I know because another sale person checked on it for me. The next time I am in there and she stands behind me again, the store manager and I will be having a talk right then and there. She doesn't even try to hide her racism. read more

Hands-down the best grocery store in the area. I grew up in Florida with Publix and they have the best customer service in almost any industry. There bakeries phenomenal and their Publix goods are always top notch. Even if they weren't they would make it right. I'm really disappointed to have to write this. So, last Sunday I ordered a buffalo chicken tender sub and a roast beef. I ended up getting home and realizing that I had 2 Buffalo subs. Not the end of the world but I called back and let them know what happened because I know that they are new store and I'm sure this would help them out in the long run. I spoke with Ellen in customer service who granted was very nice was also in a hurry to get me off the phone it seemed. She said come back in and it's on us. I want to make you happy. It wasn't a big deal to me and I wasn't calling to get a refund but I thought that that was awesome! It's now seven days later and I called Ellen to see if she remembered me, which she did. And all I asked was do you remember me and she said, "yes yes come on by." I wanted to ask her if she could transfer me to the deli but she said yes I remember you will see you soon and immediately said bye and hung up the phone... I never write a review like this. But it was a very awkward customer service call and TBH I'm not comfortable going there to get my sub. I would rather drive to the other publix or just make it myself.. *I wish whoever is reading this could have been on that call with me. I've Never been dismissed or hung up on so quickly in my life. I shop at the Bradford Plaza Way store in Cary, NC store every week. I would like to state that I am a very price wise shopper. For a number of months I have purchased Life Saver's pepper mint and wint o green. I find them in 6.25 oz. bags on the candy aisle. Your price is 2/$4.00. About a month ago I saw the same products hanging on a "shadow box" up front on row 3 or 4. The price posted is 2 for $4.00. However the size is 2.25 or 2.75 ounces per bag! I mentioned it to an employee and showed him the two locations and the apparent price discrepancy based on the package size. He advised that he would report it to a manager. While shopping today I saw the small bags still hanging in the shadow box and still priced at 2/ $4.00. I walked down the candy aisle picked up the 6.25 ounce bag for $2.00!!!! I just wonder why your company feels its okay to over charge its customers especially when you know the shadow boxes are designed to lure customers when they walk past the display. Whenever you go to publix they make it their mission to make sure you are helped. Whether it's at the deli or taking your groceries out for you. If you start to bag your own groceries a manager will be the first person to come over if everyone else is busy. It really shows that not one person is above anyone else. They not only help you with anything they are always polite and professional. Which is nice considering there are so a lot of young kids working there. The prices are comparable to other grocery stores but you are going to get higher quality food. I recommend publix! read more

So since switching to an alternative grocery store that was closer to our home, we're back to shopping at this Publix. Mainly because that grocery store (Food Lion) came to be unbearable to visit because it SMELLS SO BAD, seriously, how can a grocery store stink like that and people still have an appetite to buy food? Anyways, the bagged produce seems to be improved, I do have to dig a little to find spinach with the latest expiration date to avoid only being able to use it once after opening, but it's vastly improved from our experience, with produce and overall, at Food Lion (everything's relative?). BUT they do still have the same problem with the bananas that they had a year ago and I noticed the same thing at Food Lion! What's up with the bananas in North Carolina grocery stores being terrible?? read more

Why do I give this grocery store 3 stars?? Because I am a Florida native living in NC now. For us, Publix is our version of Harris Teeter, plain and simple. People who are disappointed with Publix made the mistake of believing all the hype. Its a grocery store, for crying out loud. They don't deserve 1 star because they dont have a dirty establishement and their products are not old and rotten. But conversely, they don't deserve 5 stars because the boys in the meat department havent found a way to reverse global warming, and the cashiers haven't mathematically proven what Dark Matter in the universe is. Until these things happens, they will just be "another" grocery store. So get your food and go home. Period. Why all the fuss??? read more

Publix is Florida's finest export aside from bandwagon sports fans, a crooked legal system, Disney World, and old people. The supermarket boosts over 1,000 locations, over 700 of which are based in Florida and even with that type of geographic concentration the company still racks up over $27 billion in annual sales. Publix sends out all the right messages to me, it boasts the slogan, "Where Shopping is a pleasure," and the company as a whole is employee owned. I've heard that everyone who works at a Publix gets some ownership stake in the company and how cool is that compared to working at other grocery chains like an IGA or Harris Teeter? The CEO of Kroger started as a stock boy, but there are only so many kings of the mountain and it's good to see the little guys starting out get a piece of the pie beyond their minimum wage salary. Onto this location, the parking lot is huge which is an issue with the Harris Teeter on Oberlin Road. Its bakery department is also best-in-class with breads and cakes that you swear were from the fanciest artisan pastry shop in Manhattan just go ahead and lie about where you got them. I gained a few pounds from laying the smack down on the challah bread within 2 days of picking it up. Assorted rolls and carbohydrates blow the competition out of the water. Deli was more in-line with competitors. A couple of things keep Publix away from achieving a higher score. The aisles aren't as wide as I am accustomed to, I felt slightly claustrophobic. The layout as well didn't flow that well for me. The economist in me says that they are missing potential sales by placing the pharmacy and bathroom products at the far end of the store away from the rest of the products, I felt no need to deeply browse that section like I would at Teeter where it is more built into the center of the build and I'd have to walk through those aisles to get to frozen for instance. So I don't like the layout and the skinnier aisles, I think the last thing that rubs me the wrong way is that Publix doesn't have a customer loyalty card and I think that forces them into the lazy practice of matching any competitor price rather than offer specific deals that would appeal to shoppers based on their shopping habits. I think this lack of IT investment on the back-end will ultimately hurt the company and the service oriented economy we have grown into. We are in the age of big data where companies look at customer habits and please the base. For example, you know when Netflix put down the capital to finance something like Orange is the New Black, Netflix charted out that based on people's viewing habits over their platform, X amount of viewers would watch the show and it would ultimately be worth the investment. I think Publix isn't offering deals people want and thinking long-term, they are simply playing catch-up by matching others. read more

I love Publix! It's a clean and organized. Staff are extremely helpful. The produce is always fresh. You get through lines quickly. Also enjoy they don't have a loyalty program so I get deals on the spot. We get our groceries from here weekly. read more

It's hard to go anywhere else after going to Publix!! The store is beautiful. The subs are to die for and so are the flatbreads. The cakes can't be beaten. They also have a salad bar, olive bar, and soup bar. Every single employee speaks when they see you. As a Florida native Ive grown up shopping at Publix. Once I found out we were getting a store here I was elated, to say the least. Their shopping experience is a unique one primarily because they've always been a store that focuses on pleasing the customer, be it through their products, services, cleanliness of store, etc, they focus on upholding a "customer is always right" mindset. The publix subs, cakes and chicken are second to no other grocer ive ever come across (and im a huge Wegmans fan :)). All in all, give them a try. Lots of excitement about this grocery store after its grand opening last week. It is certainly clean, modern, and bright. It is, at the end of the day, still a dressed up conventional grocery store. This area has already seen this kind of store before in the form of area new & renovated Harris Teeters. Same prepared foods, deli, peripheral fresh departments, combined with a massive dry goods section that includes a fair bit of naturals and organics. Coming from the Land of Wegmans, Publix is as close to that heaven we'll get in NC for a while. I live 35 mins away but went for a sub! Absolutely delicious. If I was closer I'd shop here for the prepared foods and deli, but not groceries- too expensive. It wasn't like that when I lived in Georgia, groceries were very competitively priced, but I guess in fancy ol' Cary they can do what they want! They have a great selection of food and they have enough staff hired to help customers and get them on and out as quickly as possible. However, my deli experience was a disaster, as the employee helping us didn't know anything, and what they sold us as corned beef was a travesty. Visited the area. The samplers were nice! The fish market smell wasn't overpowering. Got a good deal for 20 pc wings for $5 and I got a $3 chocolate cup with chocolate moose , cake and oreos! They even have a cool station to watch a professional slice up meats for salads. They also have half a gallon icecream for $3.50! It's a good bargain for some items. read more

I really love publix when I go in Georgia or Florida. But when come here, it's a disappointment. I beg my boyfriend to come with me ( it's 25 minutes from our house), and we probably pass 10 different grocery stores on our way. The deli is SO SLOW. I love publix subs; everytime I go it's a 30-35 minute for one sub....really? Is that a joke? The rest of the store is a zoo, and sure it's new, but shesh! Get those checkout lines moving! What a huge disappointment. I had heard really good things about Publix in the past so I was extremely excited when it opened down the street. This store is no different from a Lowe's Foods or Harris Teeter. Some items are reasonable and some are overpriced. I found it ironic that the place was insanely crowded yet carts only had about 15-20 items in them at checkout. They don't have loyalty cards, but to get some coupons, you do have to sign up online with your phone number, etc. and enter your phone number at checkout. How is this much different from loyalty cards? They also have coupons in their flyer at the store. Way too old school for me and a hassle. Why do I have to go to 2 places to get store coupons? The customer service is actually annoying in my opinion. The lines were so long, and they have 3 people at each checkout to load groceries on the belt, ring up the items, and bag the groceries. How ridiculous and inefficient. Harris Teeter doesn't even have belts. The cashiers just unload your cart as they scan. I love efficiency! When I decline help taking groceries to my car, they look at me like I'm an alien and make comments about having to take the cart back. I recently shopped at a Wegmans and really thought Publix would surpass that experience. Wegmans produce and marketplace is awesome! Publix is absolutely nothing like Wegmans. It's a simple grocery store with annoying customer services. Hope the hype dies down soon so I can buy some soda and milk in less than 45 minutes. read more

Went here today, drove over fifty miles. It was a Fun day so I decided to take a short trip. Well, it was worthwhile, the stores customer service is EXCELLENT. Everyone smiling helpful and courteous. Prices much cheaper than Harris Teeter. Everything well stocked. Check out was speedy and the help to the car was careful but quick. I will be taking another Fun trip soon. read more
