Wow. This location is an epic mess. Stopped by to purchase a Lidl gift card for a housewarming…read moregift. Very long lines, only two registers open. Tried to use self checkout (only two open!) and the register couldn't read the gift card code. I waited for an employee to see the alert at my register - a young man came over and basically said "it can't read the card, I don't know". He was lacking any customer service skills. Back into line again. The line I was in had credit card reader issues, lines were growing exponentially longer as we all waited. An employee was trying to remedy the reader situation, it was not resolved. The employees were not very friendly. Store was messy, crowded and overall I couldn't wait to get out of there! Absolutely won't visit this location again. The WF Lidl is worlds better.

Pluses: New store, plenty of space, good mix of private/national brands, the prices are good and the surprise/bargain bin area in the center is fun. Lots of deals in there. I also like that they have items that lean towards their European origins when it comes to pasta, charcuteries, and frozen items that you're unlikely to find in your standard American supermarket. Now for the negatives, for self check-out, the POS (Point of Sales system) is a POS (poo). I've had problems for both my visits and that has caused major problems for me. One resulted in multiple visits to rectify a billing/banking issue, the other just locked up and wouldn't accept my BOA card. The screens/flow of the checkout is just odd here, I recommend using a cash register. I'm pretty comfortable with self check-out and usually it's faster, but not here at Lidl. In all honesty, I'd probably give them 3 stars given how big the chain is and how they should have their store opening process well locked down. But they are definitely still working out issues. And I really hope they do given how close they are to my home.

It helps when you are looking for something specific because there are so many good choices. Many countries from Europe and the Middle East are represented and a lot from the Ukraine and Russia. I go in for the tea from Israel but they have tons of other countries teas as well, both in bags and loose. I only saw 2 employees, one at the register and one at the back of the store where you can purchase items like cakes, bread, cheese and cooked food. Both were pleasant and very helpful. I got a tea, a candy and some date filled cookies today. I will return for sure!

I was especially impressed by the variety of rice options including sticky rice and riceberry rice, plus frozen fermented crabs, meatballs, snacks, and drinks that brought back memories of browsing markets overseas.
