LOVE LIDL !!! This is my go to place for eggs and milk now. You cannot best their prices on these staples. Be sure and sign up for the MyLidl App. They have weekly specials that are always great. The store will remind you of ALDI but it has its own vibe. So glad they decided to come to our area. I give LIDL 2 thumbs up. I will continue shopping here as often as I can.

Portuguese egg tarts from Lidl

The one thing you need to get from Lidl is their Portuguese egg tarts. They are absolutely delicious! Lidl is very clean and well-stocked. They have several self checkout registers, but if you ever need help, someone is usually just a few steps away.

This was my first time to ever visit a Lidl grocery store and I was happy to visit this one on its Grand Opening Day! The store is bright with wide aisles and super friendly staff. It has the feel of an upscale Aldi, but you don't have to bag your own groceries or have a quarter to get a cart. It's also open until 10PM! My favorite part of my visit was walking through the bakery section and seeing all the amazing deals; the donuts & croissants were buy one, get one 50% off. Although the quality isn't quite top notch, my son said the .75 chocolate croissant was pretty darn good!! The fresh loaves of bread looked pretty awesome. There's a couple of aisles in the middle of the store with random household items and clothes. There were snow boots and jackets, but everything looked pretty nice and not tacky. Prices are amazing, with a great selection of organic fruits, veggies and meat. I will definitely be back and am happy to have this new grocery store in my neighborhood!

I came here on opening day and was excited to see this location. I ahve been to the other location in Raleigh, which is very nice. This is a nice addition to the grocery stores in the area. Offering good prices and brand names along with the store brand if you choose to go that route. Since opening day I've been back 10+ times and have always been impressed with the cleanliness and selections they offer. The produce is always high quality and definitely cheaper than other options in the area.

Lidl is such a beautiful grocery store. They have a wonderful, yet affordable selection of fresh produce, organic items and everyday needs. The employees there are extremely helpful when it comes to helping you find what you're looking for, even if you didn't think you were. You should bring your own bags, but you don't have to pay for your cart. The store is so bright and refreshing, it makes you want to see what they have and browse outside of your shopping list. I haven't yet had their baked goods yet, but as soon as you walk in the entrance, there it is, so when you walk in the smell of pure deliciousness smacks you in the face. Then there's the gorgeously fresh produce...you can't go wrong. The prices are amazing and the selections are great. I like it a lot better than the competitors in the area. Oh wait, did I mention Lidl's wine and beer selections are almost half the price of your regular grocery stores!!! Check out your closest Lidl today.

The produce is consistently bad. Yesterday was the last straw. These Brussel sprouts were a stinky mess.

Honestly, I wish there was a Lidl closer to my house in Durham (we do have an Aldi, though).

Golden Hex European Food Market - Whyyyyyy?

The one thing that I absolutely loved was the Turkish hand cream that I bought here. There was a picture of olives on the container, so I figured it was a skincare product with olive oil in it. It's called Zentiyagi Besleyici Bakim Kremi by Arko Nem. That translates to Olive Oil Nourishing Beauty Cream. It makes my hands feel so nourished and soft! I love it! They also have the Ritter Sport whole almond chocolates made of almonds from California. Had to buy!

Stopped by Golden Hex recently and enjoyed my visit!…read more Parking was very easy since there were plenty of spots right outside. The front doors were obscured so it almost looked closed, but luckily they swung open as I walked up to the entrance :) Inside, I was impressed by the huge selection of European wares, many of which I'd never seen before. I was intrigued by the zucchini spread but passed on it this visit. I also liked that all of the items had the country of origin listed with the price. I ended up only getting a package of pierogis for this visit, but I did check out the beer and wine section before I left. I wouldn't say the beer selection was huge, but there were quite a few interesting options that I think would be difficult to find anywhere else. There were lots of lagers, so if you're into that, Golden Hex may be your spot :) The cashier was polite and checked us out quickly. Overall, I liked Golden Hex and would definitely consider coming back to shop again.

Fresh International Market - Hot pot bar

Fresh International Market, while isn't as large or vast as some other markets, has the staples of Asian cuisine ingredients. I was able to find plentiful mustard greens, bean sprouts, taro, daikon, etc. They even had balut! Which is an indication that a lot of old school families go there, since balut is a controversial yet deep rooted delicacy of the east. In terms of herbs though, they seem to have more Chinese herbs, than Vietnamese or Korean which is a pattern I'm noticing with Asian grocers. Whatever ethnicity owns a certain grocery, carries more food items of that ethnicity, as opposed to others. It took me a while to figure that out. Just like any other Asian grocers, they have a ton of veggies, meat, snacks and even cute ceramics - bowls, plates, dipping sauce dishes, utensils, etc. They also have a neat sit down or to-go hotpot bar, similar to a buffet style bar (although it's served to you) so you can build your own meal. I found that super neat and convenient for people who just want a quick bowl but not all of the fuss of small plates, and the overall hectic experience of hot pot. Connected to the store is a nice French bakery too, that adds to the convenience of this grocery store. Overall, a good place to secure all of your Asian grocery needs!

Fresh International Market's hot bar has solid value, but the overall experience was just okay…read more The biggest positive is the portion size. For $10.99 (three-item plate), you get a very generous amount of food, which is hard to beat. There are also a decent number of meat options to choose from. That said, the selection felt limited for anyone going meat-free, and more importantly, the food itself lacked flavor. The mapo tofu was disappointing, and the bok choy was pretty bland. Others in our group tried the orange chicken, which was described as okay, but nothing anyone would go out of their way for. Overall, it's filling and affordable, but not particularly memorable. Good for quantity, just not quality or standout flavor.
