Prices were missing for multiple items and I had to track someone down to scan them for me. No smile no nothing. Just said the price and went off on her merry way. Employees are too busy on their phone. The Raleigh location is so friendly and the ppl are so helpful and kind. Even the security at the door is friendly. I regret coming to the Cary location and will not be coming back ever. Also, the meat section had a lot of brown meat that looked bad. Cracked eggs in the fridge and smelly. read more

Went to this store while on a short visit in North Carolina. The store was very nice. To me it seemed like a cross between Aldi and Trader Joes. It was very bright and clean with a vast selection of grocery items as well as seasonal items, housewares, and some clothing. I come here occasionally as this store is near Aldi and I go there more often even though this store is bigger and has more to offer Checkout is quick and I have never had to wait too long but go at slow times of the day. Biggest two problems here is they don't keep items in stock for long. I bought something here, liked it, but have never seen it again. Biggest problem is "sales " . Beware....sign will say 2/4 but if you just buy one you pay full price. Won't let you get just one like all other stores. I have been a loyal customer since they opened, however, things have changed I honestly thought they were better at handling their raw meat and checking the dates on products, I purchased some sausage patties, however they were out of date I didn't eat them and threw them out not being able to reach anyone on the phone at the store I didn't bring the sour meat to the store I brought my receipt dated two days ago when I went back to the meat department I noticed that the dates were expired on the product, the manager MARK REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY he said I could've eaten them but I would've been in the hospital, so I purchased their brand with a better date on it! This was my first time to ever visit a Lidl grocery store and I was happy to visit this one on its Grand Opening Day! The store is bright with wide aisles and super friendly staff. It has the feel of an upscale Aldi, but you don't have to bag your own groceries or have a quarter to get a cart. It's also open until 10PM! My favorite part of my visit was walking through the bakery section and seeing all the amazing deals; the donuts & croissants were buy one, get one 50% off. Although the quality isn't quite top notch, my son said the .75 chocolate croissant was pretty darn good!! The fresh loaves of bread looked pretty awesome. There's a couple of aisles in the middle of the store with random household items and clothes. There were snow boots and jackets, but everything looked pretty nice and not tacky. Prices are amazing, with a great selection of organic fruits, veggies and meat. I will definitely be back and am happy to have this new grocery store in my neighborhood! read more

I've been wanting to get here since they opened this location and was finally in the vicinity! It's set up like the other Lidl locations and no quarter needed for the shopping cart as at Aldi. I really like their cheese and lunch meat section, as well as the fresh meats and frozen items. The chips are pretty good too. I got some peppermint ice cream that I was excited to find, but the peppermints didn't even taste like the real thing and were chewy instead of crunchy and not much mint flavor at that! My spouse got a small package of fresh or possibly thawed shrimp that was precooked. When she had it for lunch the next day it was so salty she couldn't even taste the cocktail sauce she dipped in, so we'll skip that next time! One thing I consistently notice at the Lidl locations is the shoppers are very aggressive. They crash into you with no apology, are in such a frenzy they take your cart by mistake (happened on this trip and had to search all over the store for it), and overall make it an unpleasant shopping experience in general. The produce is typically decent when I go, and I do like that they have a freshly baked goods section (with 50% off day-old bread!). Honestly, I wish there was a Lidl closer to my house in Durham (we do have an Aldi, though). Stopped by on a weekday night before they were going to close. The store was mostly empty although there were a few other patrons. I do like that Lidl has a bakery, and I actually did get some bread when I was there. I didn't really need anything on my visit but was nearby and recalled that this location was here. You pretty much know what you're going to get: good prices on their mostly house brands plus random seasonal items that aren't guaranteed to be there for long. I came here on opening day and was excited to see this location. I ahve been to the other location in Raleigh, which is very nice. This is a nice addition to the grocery stores in the area. Offering good prices and brand names along with the store brand if you choose to go that route. Since opening day I've been back 10+ times and have always been impressed with the cleanliness and selections they offer. I had never been to a Lidl before. It's my main grocery source now. I love this place. As long as you know what to expect, you will be happy here. They have no dedicated customer service desk - if you want to return something, you'll have to wait in a checkout line. If you encounter a pricing issue at the self checkout, you may have to wait awhile before someone comes to your rescue, as typically another cashier who is working another line will have to help you between customers. That has happened to me maybe 2-3 times total, and I've been shopping once a week since it opened, so I really don't mind, as the prices reflect that. The last time that happened, I waited close to ten minutes, and the cashier finally just removed the items from my bill completely. So no complaints here. I love their bakery and desserts. Produce has great prices, as does the eggs. Some of their candy is hit or miss - i did return a bag of off-brand peanut butter cups because they were just awful. But that has been rare among their packaged desserts. We've definitely scored great deals on some of their random home items such as LED puck lights, drill bits, and wrapping paper. All of my kid's teacher gifts are now bought here. So selection is not going to be as large as it is at Publix or Harris Teeter, but if you can learn to adjust and are willing to occasionally supplement, you will love shopping here. It's a bright, happy place, much more so than Aldi's, IMO. read more

Wow! I really like the Lidl stores; good competition for Harris Teeter, etc. Lidl stores are sort of like a mini-Trader Joes. The store is clean, well lit and has interesting variety of items. I liked ---- Produce section has Jalapeño peppers, salads, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, etc cheaper than HT or TJ. Produce is fresh and clean. I get most of the veggies from here. Kettle chips, digestive cookies (mostly out of stock), baby wipes, dishwasher tabs, jams and jellies, nut butters Apparel, especially the ecovero Lenzing clothes. Good for summer and reasonably priced. The jumble of things on sale in the central bins. It can be clothes, Boots, slippers, laundry baskets, household goods, special items. Staff is polite and professional Didn't like ---- Their return process. Apparently we have to return the item at the same store we bought it from. The clothing sizes are not standard so I had to return a top but had to go to the Harrison rd store since I had bought it there. The chocolates have a pasty texture and taste. It's great to have a Lidl on this side of Wake County. It was crowded yesterday, but there was still available parking, and the checkout line was going fast. Plus, it was clean and bright. This Lidl is like any other--friendly employees, a great bakery, fresh produce, groceries and fun household items, most of which are priced less than the average grocery store. There were only two bathrooms, though, instead of the usual men's and women's with two or three stalls each. If you need one during a busy time, expect to wait. read more

You get coupons for $5 off of $25 and other rewards that build up in the app. The hours are also great because they are open as late as 10pm. Lidl is such a beautiful grocery store. They have a wonderful, yet affordable selection of fresh produce, organic items and everyday needs. The employees there are extremely helpful when it comes to helping you find what you're looking for, even if you didn't think you were. You should bring your own bags, but you don't have to pay for your cart. The store is so bright and refreshing, it makes you want to see what they have and browse outside of your shopping list. I haven't yet had their baked goods yet, but as soon as you walk in the entrance, there it is, so when you walk in the smell of pure deliciousness smacks you in the face. Then there's the gorgeously fresh produce...you can't go wrong. The prices are amazing and the selections are great. I like it a lot better than the competitors in the area. I use to rec.this store because it was the only place to find (nominally priced )marshmallows with REAL Vanilla extract . Now like everyone else their product has fake flavoring .Cannot say much positive about their other private brand foods .I have been disappointed in almost everything. I will say recommend their spices and bottled water. I go here for flowers....they occ.have beautiful nicely priced plants . I really like the store. I've popped in at least once or twice a week since opening. I mainly purchase fruits and vegetables and sometimes breads. The holiday items are out now so you can find anything from holiday specialty foods to Christmas decor. There's not a lot of vegan or plant based items such as non dairy creamers or yogurts. I wish they kept more alkaline water on the shelf. The Lidl kombucha is good, but it contains more sugar than other leading brands. The seafood section is pretty legit with shrimp, salmon, cod, flounder, etc. The lighting in the store is good, which can appreciate when trying to find something. I haven't purchased anything that didn't like so far. Try the fresh baguette.. it's good and if you're lucky, you may score one right out of the oven. My wife and I have enjoyed shopping here but lately I'm ready to give up. Today we were at the store shopping about noon. After shopping we were as others disappointed to see only one checkout open and a line of 11 people lines up making it hard for others to shop waiting to check out. I found a store manager to complain but he unfortunately was not concerned until I got upset. I told him I just witnessed people telling others that they were going on break. After telling him that he was useless as a manager he finally found someone and opened another checkout line. I believe in giving a second chance but when employees don't care about customers I'm not sure things will change. read more
