I feel like folks in cities like Charlotte and Raleigh are spoiled with Asian Grocery chains like Super G Mart and H-Mart so they tend to compare mom-and-pop Asian grocery stores like this to them. Growing up in a small town, this is what I'm used to. I stop by to grab some items but they were out of stock. Not sure if it was due to the shortage of supplies or what? There was only one cash register open with a long line so I decided not to buy anything. I walked around just to check the place out and left. This store is clearly for Asian folks who know what they need ahead of time. I got a feeling once I left that my "type" wasn't welcome here. Store was empty of customers and I couldn't immediately find what I needed because it was cluttered and there were no signs. No offer of assistance. The check out person was unfriendly and didn't listen to me when I said I didn't need a bag. Just a nasty and unfriendly vibe here. The manager/owner does not wear a mask! She was putting away vegetables and other stock items w/o a mask on. She was also by the registers where people were paying without a mask on! I asked the cashier why they weren't enforcing masks and she said "well she's the boss". I told the cashier that we will not be going back there! The owner obviously doesn't care about her employees and her customers! There are other Asian groceries in the area that are following the mask mandate and following the protocols. read more

Cary folks! Y'all are so damn lucky. All the cool stuffs are opening in your neighborhood. I think us Asian are slowly taking over the town! Mother was going through her Chinese newspaper and saw the grand opening ad for Today Asia Market, and insisted we have to check it out. Let me tell you first of all; don't search just "today" in Yelp because you won't see this place. I know because I tried. Today is a decent size Market. Certainly not as grand as G.A.M. or Li Ming, more along the line of S Mart kind of deal. The wares and the prices are all pretty decent, but I don't think I have found anything here that I cannot get at any other Asian markets. Although, since they only recently opened the shelves are not fully stocked yet; I am looking forward when they get into the full swing of things. There is no inside eatery here, but then again when there is a Super Asian Buffet right next door, do they really need one? read more

Great Asian supermarket. Been in business 3years, closer than grand Asia market. Isles are more narrow. Tai chili peppers $1.00 but you get more than GAM for the same thing and price. Would definitely return. Nice little gem. S mart also not too far away (another Asian supermarket). read more

Asian supermarket on Kildaire Farms. It's the smallest of the Asian groceries in the area, and definitely has more of that "mom and pop" feel than larger competitors like Grand Asia and H Mart. Because the store is smaller, the isles are bit narrow, and the selection (particularly for veggies and fruits) are smaller, but they do stock most of the categories you'd expect. I find their prices for some items to be cheaper than their competitors. They have a small fresh seafood stand in the back corner, and I was able to buy some shrimp that were inexpensive and tasted pretty fresh. Also I was able to find the cooking wine with salt which I wasn't able to find in other Asian groceries. Overall, this place worth stopping by if you happen to be in the area. read more

Today is a nice "mom and pop" Asian (more Chinese) grocery store. I really want them to succeed especially with tough competition from Grand Asia and H Mart. Today offers some items from Southeast Asia and Chinese items H Mart doesn't offer, and some of the Southeast Asian items are not at Grand Asia. It's not as big or organized as its bigger competitors but I like to go there every now and then even though H Mart is very close to us. Their prices are competitive in general. Some of the bigger guys play tricks with pricing (some items cheap to draw you in but others are expensive to make money), but Today seems to be more consistent. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem yesterday while getting our car worked on a few doors down. The store was very clean and had a great selection! The fish area was so clean and the fish looked great! It also was priced well. If he had not had other errands to do we would have gotten some fish for dinner! I will for sure be going back very soon! I purchased a presliced jackfruit to try and it was delicious! Most places have the whole jackfruits but it was great to find a place that sold sections for those of us who were scared to buy the whole large fruit unsure if it would be good. I honestly think this store is selling fake Samyang Spicy Ramen noodles. The taste is ridiculously off and spicy hot that's bitter unlike the Samyang ramen from H-mart. Also the Datu Puti vinegar taste off as well. read more

It's great to have a non-chain local Asian market that has a great selection and is easy to get in and out of. They are constantly restocking items, adding new things and are always eager to lend a helping hand when I can't find something. The fish section is a welcome addition. Today Asian Market has a pretty good selection of Asian foods for a reasonable price. Depending on the day, some of the produce may not appear very fresh, but you can usually find pretty decent stuff here. It's slightly closer to where I live compared to Grand Asia Market, so if I don't want to drive as far, I sometimes come here. However, Grand Asia Market has a much larger selection of things, so it really depends on what you need and are looking for. read more

Once I saw Kyanyu C's review for Today Asia Market, I knew I had to stop by. It's right across the the street (Kildaire Farm Rd) from the Post Office, not to mention it's near the Trader Joe's shopping center, so I'm in this area pretty often. It's in the same section as Super Asian Buffet and Advance Auto Parts and this section is quieter than the other two shopping centers next to it. TAM is pretty big, but the aisles are also wider (thank goodness!) so in the end, it carries about the same amount of goods as S Mart. There's no bakery or cafe inside, so it's your typical market, not that that's a bad thing. The prices are about the same as all the other markets, but currently, they're giving everyone a 5% discount! Probably because they just opened up, but I have no idea how long this promo goes on for. The cashiers speak great English and like to chat with you (unlike GAM, but maybe that's because GAM is always so busy, they don't have time to chat with you). Some parts of the shelves are still bare, but I've gone here twice now and they're always filling something up, so I'm sure the whole store will be fully stocked in no time. It's a great place to go if you're in the area and don't want to fight the mobs at GAM! read more

This is my prefer grocery store now! I hated going to grand Asia market because its always so hectic there and I alway feel like I am at a battle field fighting for a losing cause. It's nothing like that here. The cashiers are friendly and always have a smile on! (though last time the supervisor/manager was sort of scolding the cashier for doing a poor job and that was a bit awkward) I have always like asian markets over american chain grocery store for my veggies mainly because of the varieties. They have a decent varieties of vegetables and all are fresh and very reasonably priced. They often times mark down the price of some of the old produce. The price are pretty similar to grand asia market I believe. They do have less of a selection and smaller quantity for fruits though, which isn't a big deal for me since I usually get my apples from trader joes. Also they don't have a meat counter. All their meat are pre-packaged. On the bright side this eliminates the infamous asian grocery store odor! All the aisles are fully stocked and they are fully functional now I believe! Also for now, they are offering 5% off for purchase over $20 and 10% for purchase over $40 if you pay cash for returning customers. You can find the coupon at the bottom of your receipt. Also there might be some 10% off coupons in the clippers magazine I believe. So I drove past Today Asia Market for the first couple of months it was open because somehow I thought it was a restaurant. Well, one day, I had to pick up a couple of items from the Advance Auto Parts just a couple of doors down, actually LOOKED at Today Asia Market, and decided to go in. Super glad I did. As much as I like Grand Asia, I like Today Asia Market a little more. Grand Asia has a larger selection and a bakery, yes, but Today Asia Market has NO CROWDS. I repeat, no crowds. Today Asia Market carries the Korean seaweed I like, plus the furikake brand I like. There's usually some really good deals on the frozen gyoza and snacks. It also seems to be the only place in the RDU area that carries the Roomie/BestFriend's favorite brand of oolong iced tea (Suntory) so I've usually have her in tow or a request to pick some up for her while I'm there. The location is very convenient to stop by if you're already visiting the Trader Joe's nearby and that shopping plaza it's in with a bunch of other restaurants and shops. Still multiple employees do not wear a mask! When I brought it up to one of them (as she was putting away produce!), she was really rude about it. We go frequently to pick up random items since it's convenient. Most produce generally looks fresh. I love the variety in the shelf stable aisles and refrigerated/ freezer section. I can generally find anything I need plus a few extra items that catch my eye, even some made somewhat locally. Main plus - many produce items are cheaper than conventional stores. Bean sprouts, cilantro, green onions. I only buy these items at Today Asia. Many staff are also friendly, will help you with selecting the right items, and will tolerate children. read more

The first thing you notice when entering the store is the tremendous FOUL odor. It is really bad. I've been here several times and the odor is always bad. The employees lie about nearly everything you ask them. They sell produce that looks so bad it should be in the garbage. Awful store! read more

This is a great place for Asian food supplies. This market generally organizes its shelves by country of origin, so I was able to find a Singaporean section and grab authentic Singaporean box mixes for Chicken Curry and Beef Rendang (yes, box mixes are authentic Singaprean food -- everyone there cooks from box mixes if they cook at all!) The quality and selection were good, and I even picked up some very nice, well priced patterned dishes. read more

I had been here few years back and may be it was late in the evening but I didn't have great memories when I visited this place against. However that changed today. I loved their fresh produce , mushroom and tofu collection. Smaller aisles but very well stocked. I stopped to get just a few stuff, but managed to take a quick round around the store and check out some other things they sell. The staff were helpful and I definitely found this better/easier to navigate than grand Asia. read more

This market is targeted more for Chinese customers. They have cleaner stocked shelves compare to their competitor Grand Asia Market. They do not have the open meat and fish department like Grand Asia Market, yet they have a good selection of meats and sea food. Some of their produces are lack in freshness, but they do have a good selection as well. I am giving them one more star than Grand Asia Market because of the cleanness of the market as well as the convenience of browsing through the store without huge crowd. read more

No bakery. No restaurant. No dedicated seafood or meat departments. No problem. In my opinion, the prepared food at Grand Asia isn't any good anyway, the meat and vegetables are of poor quality and the seafood area simply stinks to high Heaven (giving the entire joint a funk); but the baked goods at Grand Asia can be quite good, so you miss that at Today Asia Market. TAM is for grocery shopping, that is about it. It is not a superstore that tries to do everything and does it half-assed. But it's pretty good size, actually, about the size of a big Walgreens or a little bigger. The place is very clean, has a very similar selection of fresh meats and vegetables, sauces, frozen items and jarred/canned/packaged items to GAM. Something that makes TAM my (and my Asian better half's) preferred Asian market is the smell (nothing offensive like GAM), the staff (much nicer), the pushy crowds (non-existent), the quality of the meats and vegetables and the, I'd say, around 5-10% savings on just about any food item. read more

I have been shopping at Today's Asia for a year. I prefer it over Grand Asia because it is closer, easier to navigate and the staff are more helpful. However, they have a problem with the quality of their food. I've bought fresh pork there twice to make sweet and sour pork, and it was smelly, I ended up throwing it all out. I had the same issue with pork bones and had to throw out a pot of soup. The hot pot beef I bought before had dark green stuff on the edge. My friend got food poisoning from the fresh salmon she bought there once. I have let that all go but yesterday I bought dumpling skin which was mouldy. I drove all the way there to exchange it today just to find that all the yellow dumpling skin there was mouldy! The gentlemen I spoke with (who I believe is the owner's son) did not offer any apology and on the contrary seemed to be questioning and challenging me which was very disappointing. read more
