Sometimes you just need something quick and cheap for lunch, and if that is the case and you are in the mood for Indian food then Sangam Mart is certainly an option. I have not had an opportunity to venture around their supermarket so I don't know how good or bad that area is, but I've had their cafeteria food on a couple of occasions. Just to be clear, the speed and price of the food are the big positives, but it comes at the cost of quality. On my first visit, I ordered their Kongu mutton biryani and paneer tikka masala. The biryani was really dull and not very well conceived. The mutton itself was on the dry end and the spices did not pop like you'd expect in a fresh biryani. I'd say the color of the biryani itself is very telling. The paneer tikka masala was decent, but the paneer itself was really dense and chewy. I could at least enjoy the curry some, but would have liked a little more spice in that too. I came back and ordered their chicken curry. To be clear, it was labeled as "chicken curry", not a butter chicken, a korma or a vindaloo, just a curry. The flavors were Indian in nature, but not very harmonious like a well thought out curry. It was also very watery, and the chicken was dry and more bone than meat. The prices here are probably the biggest pull factor for Sangam Mart, they are the cheapest Indian spot in the area by a good bit! With such short lunch breaks and the desire to not burn through your wallet, Sangam Mart has its place. However, with so many other fantastic Indian restaurants in the area, it is hard for me to justify choosing Sangam Mart over the competition. read more

Today was my first time dining here, and I will definitely be back! I ordered a paneer biryani and gulab jamun. I've been searching for gulab jamun for over ten years and finally found it here at this restaurant! My friend's mother made even better ones than this restaurant's, but it was still sweet and delicious. The paneer was creamy and the dish was very spicy. Definitely needed the yogurt to offset the spice! Service was alright, ambiance of the seating outside was good but no shade! read more

Great idea for Indian breakfast @9am ...... lines galore in the grocery store for South Indian breakfast items idli , chutney, sambhar, poori and curry, vada and pongal. This is most unpleasant Goat Biryani I ever saw and ate in my life. How in the world you are even selling it as Goat Biryani.. A plain and simple khichdi will taste better than this. I will not recommend anyone buying Biryani from here at all. read more

WORST INDIAN STORE TO SHOP NOW. Sangam Mart used to be great, with a great staff and service. Now, it seems that their popularity has made them think they can do and act however they want, because people will keep coming back. I went today to get their "Fresh" rotis. I asked the person making the roti to give me 50 of the ones that were drying so that I could get ones that haven't been sitting there for 2 hours. The person said No. Then I asked the cashier, and she said "No because we don't have anyone to count and pack it." We can see the person who packs them counting and packing very clearly, and the cashier lady said they can't do that. HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? Absolutely ridiculous. Never going back here again. I'll make sure none of my Nepali friends and family go here either. read more

This guy sells goat curry in 8 OZ bowl for $17 i.e no goat meat only bones and curry. Are you serious. This is how they dupe customers. Also 10 rotis are so small is size for $4. Strong recommend not to buy any non veg curry item from this store read more

Dear Sangam, Yesterday, When me and my friend came to your shop for a nice evening tea, one of your employees stopped me and asked me to pay extra for an empty extra cup. Is this a new rule that, If I take extra empty cup for sharing the tea with my friend, should we pay extra? I believe this is unusual even in American shops... I am a person don't drink a full glass of tea and at the same time, I don't want to waste it as well...Taking a glass of tea and sharing it (1/2) with my friend is an offense? I am not going to refill the tea anyways...I paid $2.15 for the tea...Does that not profitable? By the way, it's a foam cup...It costs around $1.72 for 50 cups in Walmart...I felt offended that, the lady who stopped me looked me like a thief...I am really sorry if taking extra cup matters a lot in your profit from tea... According to me, Sangam is famous for snacks rather than groceries. We enjoy sitting there and have some snacks with our friends and family...That reminds our memories from our home country... I have put this review just in case if it's a surprise for the owner/manager who ever runs it...If this is something from the management, we will live with it because we love Sangam majorly for the above fact. Just my thought process.... read more

It is a good place for Some quick indian fast food. I like the fried rice, biryani and starters. Their indian breakfast items are average and chutneys are worst. Bad grocery store with limited stock. I only got there because they have decent prices and good in taste on biryani and fried rice read more

Great place to pick up authentic Indian food at an amazing price. The samosas and chai is out of the world.

$1 chai and $ 1 samosa - hell yeah! Absolutely delicious . It's so authentic and fresh. Most place re-fry and these guys don't (at least I do feel that). And it's also great that I can shop my groceries along with this read more

Bringing Great South Indian taste to NC. Friendly staffs and services. High quality food.

Very poor customer service and very very rude to customers. Food is good but female employee is very rude. This is not the first time and they don't even apologize for their mistakes. I would never come back or recommend to anyone until and unless they changed their attitude. I would not give not even a one star for the service they provided today. But unfortunately I have to select 1 star to go further to post this review. read more

Food is horrible. The lady behind the food counter acts like she is giving food for free. The quantity for the price is like a 5 start restaurant but the quality does not even meet a cheap road side stall. Such a rip off and the quality and cleanliness is getting worse if that's even possible!! read more

I wanted to get some food, there was nobody at the food counter, went to look for them at the kitchen. I saw there we 2 guys working in the kitchen with no mask or gloves. I was shocked to see that, with all government mandate for mask & COVID scare. On top of that, I asked the guy whether I can buy mutton, instead of telling me that they are closed, he asked me to read the sign below, even though according to the sign, the counter should've been opened 2 hours ago. I wish I should've taken some pictures from kitchen. read more

This review is for their kitchen and not the grocery store. While the grocery store is pretty standard, I like the way they have been trying to disrupt take-out Indian food segment in this area (we do not have many). The kitchen is a no frill, simple order counter with chefs preparing made to order items. They do have ready to take-out food selection bar setup at the entrance. Menu has a good mix of appetizers, entrees, north, south food selection. Some of the daily evening snack selection is great and sells out fast. If you are looking for a reasonably priced food to grab on the go, this is the place. read more

This place used to be a nice grocery store when it was owned by another lady (Roopali). Lately, things have changed. The not-so-fresh veggies are quite expensive. They have started a cafe which offers tiffin food. Taste is good but the food I had was stale. Owner also charged me extra than the listed price. read more

Have tried to buy meat from the butcher shop at the back twice with no luck and were told that the butcher is at home sleeping because he has to work late. There is a sweets counter next to the butcher. They sell hot food and chat items which are cheaper than Indian restaurants. A few tables for seating outside. Too many expired items on the shelves. India Mart on Davis Drive is cheaper for groceries. read more

This is my go-to place if I'm hungry and ready for a quick grab. Their afternoon lunch items and tiffin items are good. I would say that they are great in quality and taste. I highly recommend this to any one who wants to eat Indian foods for lunch. read more

This morning I went to buy meat and came back without buying after I saw the meat shop guys behavior to the other customers. Also every other person in this shop has been helpful and decent read more

Damn, I can't believe I have been a loyal customer to this store since 2007 now. Phew!!! Its been while since I have been shopping here now. I just love the variety of products they offer from snacks, ice-creams, and preparation ingredients. Recently, this year they have opened a to go food service with a fully operating kitchen where they offer lip-smacking Indian appetizers and entrees. I tried their chili chicken, chicken 65, spring rolls, and chicken lollypop. Every single time I feast there, it makes me want to go back for more. Their customer service is off the hook. They are so friendly and helpful. I remember one of the staff member- Suman who was so nice to me when I asked him to help me find some of the products that I was looking for. read more

Sangam Mart opened a few months back right off of 54, which is pretty quick from North Raleigh/Wake Forest thanks to 540. Sangam Mart is located in a brand new strip mall, in a pretty isolated part of 54 on your way into Morrisville proper. There's a Subway on the front corner and Sangam has the back corner of the strip mall. Sangam attempts to do what no other local Indian store has done- Westernize! Sangam is like the Whole Foods of Indian groceries in the Triangle. The isles are really wide. The store is well lit and organized. The isles are numbered and labeled. The patrons are young and hip. The food selection tends to be pretty broad- with a fair amount of both North Indian and South Indian foods in terms of breads, snacks, vegetables, etc. The staff are pretty friendly. They'll invite you to open a credit account with them, which is common in India and now offered at Sangam Mart. Sangam has a nice-looking movie selection of rentals/DVDs for purchase in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Telegu. Tons of rice and dal, lots of frozen foods. Nice shop! read more

Not been to this place since very long time until the renovation or remodeling, seems like they are more organized and you can get a variety of cultural and ethnic stuff needed for all sorts of ritual programs and also Halal and food catering makes me use this place to get all grocery at a time. Very helpful customer service and prompt in taking calls to confirm on some availability of grocery. I would recommend this to my friends. read more

This store is now well organized and the people here are always welcoming with a smile. They offer good discounts and its well maintained. I am looking forward for their future expansion in having a food court for freshly prepared indian snacks and halal meat sections which will be coming soon. I would reccommend this store for fresh vegetables and fruits. Parking is never a problem. Overall experience 9/10. read more

My review is for the great chat items they serve. Ragda patties is my most favorite. We have also tried Kachori chaat, Samosa, Dosa. Reasonably priced food - served fresh and hot. They also have outdoor siting area. Plus, I can pick up fresh vegetables on the way to home. read more

Amazing place to shop for food, snacks, and groceries. Amongst all Indian stores in the area, this is the best.

Even after repeated notices at the front desk, they didn't updated the prices for food online. They just smiled at us. They still have very old prices online. This is not fair practice. read more

Their food or service or ownership is not reliable. I found staple in their food, which poked my jaw and sent me to doctor.

Food served this restaurant is not consistent. Sometime it tastes good some time its horrible taste. Though they are giving few dishes for a cheaper price compare to other restaurants quantity is not up to the mark. For example chicken 65 they give in a small container which is comparatively less quantity than other reputed restaurants. Chef with bald head in this restaurant behaves like a owner of this shop. I am not sure whether he is legal immigrant or illegal immigrant. Long story short he has to change his attitude else some one will file a compliant on him. Groceries will be fresh on Thursdays and Sundays. I don't have any compliant on this. Another thing is a meat shop. Butcher in the meat shop is very good some times and behave rude sometimes. Meat quality is good. Over all this shop is good for groceries. read more

Serves great food in addition to being a grocery store. Smaller compared to the others in the area, but it makes up for that with its very reasonably prices food selection of biriyanis (probably the most inexpensive biriyanis in RTP), curries, buffet, samosas, a diverse collection of sweets and other snacks and even a full meat store at the back of the facility. Seating space outside of the store. read more

We were the old customers of this shop. It got all the Indian veg. But if u want fresh veg u should go by Thursday and Friday. In other weekdays u cannot get so fresh veggies. The price are so high and that is the reason why we moved from Sangam to Patels. But onething i like here is that their snacks section. It got so many varieties. Also they have homemade Sweet Poli, Murukku. They were awesome and we used to get it everytime we go there. The price of Poli is so high, but the taste is really good. Give them a try if u go next time. Overall i like this shop for snacks read more
