I was looking for some samosa chaat, in the little cafe inside this grocery store was pretty good. It was under $10, and quite filling. It had the sweet and savory flavors going on, and although it was a little bit soggy, I enjoyed it. If you're craving some chaat, this works in a pinch. You can even order online and then pick it up. The grocery store also has a very nice collection of Indian ingredients, so I stayed to shop for a bit. read more

Only went here to buy mango lassi, which is available in Bombay Central's desserts concession. Been here twice already; the first time, I had to wait for the lady who was supposed to be behind the desserts concession, and she wasn't friendly. One of the cashiers also just glanced at me as if I wasn't welcome here. The space of this Indian grocery is quite large, and the whole place looked clean. They offer authentic Indian products, most of which I'm not familiar with. I just bought 1 mango lassi on each of my 2 visits. It cost about about $5+ but the first time, I was charged with convenience fee for using my debit card because I spent less than $10 - So unprofessional! The second time, I just used cash to avoid paying the convenience fee. Mango lassi was good: creamy, refreshing mango taste with a lot of cardamom. It's quite sweet; sweeter than most mango lassis we tried. My girl thought it was too sweet. What a pleasant surprise! I tried the tandoori chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. Though listed as an appetizer, it was much more substantial than expected. The restaurant is uniquely located inside an Indian grocery store, which gives it a different vibe--but don't let that deter you. The portions were generous, and the flavors were on point. This grocery store took me by surprise! You may not understand me until you actually talk inside. It's quite modern and beautiful! I can tell that they put a lot of thought into it. From the space, sections, to the architecture. Space is a lot bigger than what you see on the outside. The organization with the beautiful signs makes it easy to shop. Talk about nostalgic Indian street food. I love love love this cafe!! Pro-tip order ahead when possible as most items are made to order. My favorite thing to get here is the Bombay sandwich. Psst...ask for it to be grilled. The sandwich is GIANT (which makes it perfect for sharing) and is always delicious. Bombay Central is a brand new grocery store in Morrisville and the Grand Opening was 'all that and more'! Welcome to the Triangle because we didn't realize we needed Bombay Central in our lives until we went and shopped away to Glory! They have a full scale Indian grocery store, a cafe on site typical of Bombay style street food prepared from scratch and authenticity galore. There's a separate halal meat counter with an array of meats for patrons to take. The opening involved a free Mithai box for every $100 purchase and everyone was treated to ice creams- talk about passion and pride at opening in the midst of a pandemic. Covid protocols: masking was on point, enforced, sanitizers were plenty and everyone was safe Grocery store: they carry all your typical needs and then some more. You'll find foods, rice, condiments, snacks, frozen foods, the whole nine yards. They have a brand in the store called 'Desi Thela' which I haven't encountered in any of the competitive stores in the area. Frozen Mithai such as Kaju Katli, anjeer rolls, even motichoor laddos have no artificial ingredients (no artificial color/additives/preservatives) and they taste delicious!!!! This is a WIN WIN and entirely unique ingredient offering to this store which will always bring me back. Pricing for groceries on their opening sale was the best I've seen in the Triangle. For $3.79 and $2.70 for 4 lbs of lentils and flours was simply unbeatable. The frozen naans branded by Desi Thela have no added artificial ingredients and are made with sunflower oil- flavor is on point. Highly recommend for 'Health aware yet Yummy' seeking customer base. Produce was fresh and plentiful! Cafe: the cafe has staple but quality offerings. Call it Indian street food at its best quality and taste with unbeatable price. Where have I seen fresh samosa for 99 cents a piece? No where! We got samosas, Bombay sandwich, vada pav, Dabeli and Pav Bhaji to sample. It was all fantastic barring the Pav Bhaji (it was still pretty good, but I might skip that next time). The vada Pav will remind you of Mumbai and the Dabeli reminded me of Ahmedabad- that speaks volumes for the ones who've been to those cities! The sandwich was DELICIOUS! The chutneys were scratch made just like the rest of it all. I got to speak with some of the family members while I was experiencing this store and I was so pleased with their passion for all of it. Halal meat: they had a lot to offer and all of your Biryani, kabab and Tikka needs will be fulfilled. I didn't buy the meat so not sure about it's quality yet but there no dearth of variety here. Parking is plenty and the carts are new so that helps the shopper overloading themselves on everything they see- especially on sale. This is a grocery store with a cafe at the back. As soon as you walk in, the store is spacious and clean. We came to the cafe as we heard it's good. The service was quick and prices seemed reasonable. Below are items we ordered with review. - mango lassi: good! No complaints - Vada pav: we could tell the Vada was heated up, it wasn't fried fresh. However the overall taste was good. - Chicken biryani: this was alright, could be better. However it wasn't bad either. My husband said he's had better biryani in the area. This is a very nice Indian store with one heck of a cafe in the back of the store. The cafe makes some of the most nostalgic Bombay Indian street food. We tried vada pav, dabeli and Bombay sandwich. Now I am an avid fan of vada pav (a traditional Indian street food, that has this spiced potato ball deep fired in a chick pea batter that is filled in a bun that is lathered with spicy garlic and cilantro chutney and fried green chillies) and I try this wherever I can, but I must say Bombay central makes it the best. I was visiting my sister in Raleigh NC and that's where I got to taste this awesomeness. I even packed 2 for my husband to take to vegas on a plane, and the lady packed with so much attention to detail. Dabeli and Bombay sandwich were also super delicious. The Indian store has everything you need and more, priced so reasonable. The store is very clean. I wish there was a store like this in vegas. read more

I have been to Bombay Central a few times for groceries and the cafe food. The most noticeable physical aspect of this store is the abundance of space. Not only in the main store areas, but within each aisle the amount of walking area is so spacious. I appreciate this characteristic of the store especially with Covid in mind. The protocols and safety precautions for Covid are well placed. The brands and items within the store are very well placed and located. A lot of the masalas and other harder to find items are assorted for the most part in alphabetical order (which is soo amazing!). The workers here do their best to help in any way they can. I appreciate their time and efforts greatly. All in all I genuinely believe this store has a lot to offer. Although very new and upcoming, it has a lot of potential. It is a nice grocery store and kept clean. The Staff is nice, they have customer rewards, and also a nice/clean meat shop.

We got Jalebi from Bombay Central. They looked good, but had a strong stench of oil, which makes me think that either they used old oil, possibly reusing it over multiple days. Was a waste of money and effort. Will not buy Jalebis or fried food from here anymore. read more
