We love Around the World market. My partner is Indian, so we cool Indian food regularly. This…read moremarket has everything that we need from vegetables to spices to snacks. The staff is very friendly. They recognize us and always ask how we are doing. Additionally, the store is well-stocked and very well organized, which allows for quick and efficient shopping trips. The prices are average compared to other Indian grocery stores. We always buy spices/herbs/etc. from this market, because it is almost always cheaper than buying them at Walmart, Harris Teeter, etc. For example, for the same price that we would buy a small container of sesame seeds at a larger chain grocery store, we get a large jar of them from this store. The also have fresh mithai and samosas, which are always delicious. In the past, they have also had fresh rotis available but only by phone order ahead of time.

When I come to Fresh International Market, I don't come to shop, I come to eat. As someone who…read morevalues the bang for your buck, a place that will offer you rice and three sides for less than $12 is always going to make me happy. Okay, I am not going to forget the rest of the store. Fresh International is the closest place to me that does Chinese centric groceries, which is a necessity at times. Sure, H-Mart is closer to me, but some days I just prefer using the soft Chinese tofu instead of the Korean option. Not only that, but they have a better selection of rice and other snacks and treats. There is a seafood counter, butcher, a bakery attached, and the main attraction for me, their hot bar. The hot bar is cafeteria style in which you point to what you want in front of you. There is a blend of traditional Chinese options and some other more Americanized options. They have all different types of meats, including steamed fish, pork, chicken, etc, as well as tofu and vegetable options. The most expensive option is the $10.99 rice and three options, which is already a bargain in this economy. The food itself is solid for the price, and is very fulfilling. I would totally have this every lunch! Attached to the hot bar is the Chinese BBQ section. There, you can get roast pork, duck and other fresh meats. Their roast pork with the crispy skin absolutely rocks. The meat is tender and the skin is crispy and crunchy. My only problem with Fresh International are their hours. Their hot bar closes at 6:30 PM, while the store stays open until 9. I came at 7:00 PM and they were already wrapped up! Bummer! Make sure to come at lunch while the food is hot and fresh!

Fresh International Market's hot bar has solid value, but the overall experience was just okay…read more The biggest positive is the portion size. For $10.99 (three-item plate), you get a very generous amount of food, which is hard to beat. There are also a decent number of meat options to choose from. That said, the selection felt limited for anyone going meat-free, and more importantly, the food itself lacked flavor. The mapo tofu was disappointing, and the bok choy was pretty bland. Others in our group tried the orange chicken, which was described as okay, but nothing anyone would go out of their way for. Overall, it's filling and affordable, but not particularly memorable. Good for quantity, just not quality or standout flavor.

The noodles (Pancit) were delicious, full of veg and pork, and WOW! the serving size was huge : 0 as I asked the server to STOP filling my plate b/c I could not eat that much. The food was freshly made and as it was lunch hour I could see they were in the midst of making all the food items so they were all uber-fresh. Friendly, and helpful team. So good. 6-8 tables for seating. Small and clean. Store: Small. I did not see any(?) fresh food. Lots of bagged food (crisps, snacks, tea) and jarred items (salted fish, etc). Some items in wall fridges which I did not inspect. We bought a few snacks.
