BEWARE, DON'T SHOP HERE!!! I have shopped at this location for years, and I have normally had a very pleasant experience. But lately when picking up groceries that have been ordered online......there has been a very obvious pattern developing. If an item is on sale, such as buy a certain number and get a certain number free.....the store will "conveniently" be short of one item so that you don't qualify for the sale and they charge you full price for the rest of said items. Secondly and more frustrating, we are now getting numerous EXPIRED items, or DAMAGED / OPENED items.....that they clearly could NOT sell in the store. This is NOT just happening to my groceries, but also to MANY of my neighbors in our nearby community. At first I thought nothing of it, but now after talking with many of my neighbors and it happening SEVERAL times...it's clearly a SCAM to make MORE PROFIT. I have posted this on several online forums and reported this to the Better Business Bureau providing them with dated receipts and photos of the goods in question. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves. There are plenty of nearby options other than this criminal establishment. You have now lost SEVERAL customers due to your petty schemes and scams. read more

Stopped shopping here (HT Parkside) and am a regular at Publix. 1) Poor and small selection of meats (Publix twice as big and varied). 2) Fish area stinks all the time (Publix does not). 3) Never have sufficient cashiers on Senior Citizen day (trying to force us to use self-check out I suspect). 4) Frequently moldy and wilted produce. read more

My wife and shop at the HT on 1010 and Kildaire. Today we walked in looking for a filet mignon for our dinner. There was one remaining in the case that looked pretty bad. The older of the two butchers said he would cut one for us that was already on the cutting board and unpackaged. With an attitude, he proceeded to give us a cut that was worse and more fatty than the previous one in the case. We will not shop there any longer. Adjust your attitude to provide TOTAL QUALITY SERVICE to your customers or do not work in that setting. So we bought our steak at PUBLIX. read more

Mostly a good store. Much better service than almost all other stores. At least they care. Plus they hire special needs folks, which is nice to see. Good selection of almost everything (except they no longer stock Gino's pizza...), lots of international foods. The produce is in a really weird spot, so I have to backtrack to get there. Areas for improvement: daytime stocking of multiple aisles simultaneously makes it a challenge to shop there. Some checkout clerks move at a snail's pace, I usually have to bag my own groceries. They have eVic specials that don't apply to Vic specials (confusing and inconsistent). There are no checkout stations open near the second store exit nor spread out across multiple aisles for shoppers' convenience. How about at least one express self-checkout near the other exit? The produce section sometimes has food that's starting to rot. Sometimes it's super fresh; other times wilted and gray. The vents to cool the shelves are often a bit grimy/fuzzy. Not sure anyone has ever cleaned them. Self checkout is quite fast at least. Employees seem happy to work there. Great service more often than not, but sometimes the human checkout is painfully slow. They used to have baggers to speed it up. They have some good specials to bring you into the store, but my overall bill is typically higher than other stores. read more

The customer service is awesome at this location,BUT the produce is awful. We have found the produce section to be full of rotting items, especially onions and potato section. When searching for herbs I usually have to dig way in the back for herbs that are not decaying or brown. I have found molded onions and oranges after getting a bag home. I have stopped looking for produce here unless I am in an extreme pinch. Today I opened a bag of sugar to find a maggot. I was able to exchange for a different brand without an issue but I think my days of shopping here may be over. There are usually enough managers walking around for this to never happen. read more

I was so upset today. I ran in to get a bottle of wine for a birthday gift. Because it was wine I figured I couldn't do self check out. I went to a check out and waited there. It was weirdly roped. I went to the other side which was in between 2 cashiers and a woman went in right before me and kind of gave me a look. Then an older gentleman went in - I took a pic of his cart. I had 1 bottle of wine and water. It was a terrible system. I told the cashier and she didn't say a word like "sorry." When I walked in someone unpacking produce said hello. There is a Starbucks inside like there are in many HT's. The wine was well organized and the store clean. When I go to HT I know I pay extra so I want better service at the register. It was too obvious also to be standing there with 2 things on my hand and for 2 other people to go before me with full carts. read more

I have been to this @HarrisTeeter a few times for something quick. Their meats are generally high quality, and they do carry different flavors of ice cream that other stores don't. Yes, I have to come here to get a certain flavor of Ben & Jerry's because Walmart does not carry it. They are generally not top on my list of grocery stores to shop at because I think some of their items are overpriced. They remodeled and it shows! I recently stopped by to get milk and as soon as I walked in the front door, I totally didn't recognize the place. The have expanded the square footage, revamped the whole store, and some cool features like the dry age case. It's like shopping at the newer locations. Glad to see the improvements. I do have to say that Harris Teeter does promote its 'service excellence'. In doing so it allows an employee to fix a situation right then and there without requiring a manager to approve every little thing. There is also a suprising amount of latitude given to make those decisions. A lot of other stores will micromanage even the smallest of things to the customers and ultimately their own dissatisfaction. I am not a big fan of self scanning aisles. However, they seem to have it right as it's located in front of customer service and they dedicate a seperate employee to rectify the problems that occur there. If it's super busy the customer service desk people will come over to assist as well. I have had a particularly fast and efficient person named Reva assist me many times. Give her a raise. read more

I utilize this Harris Teeter for the AWESOME salad bar! The salad bar is always fresh and plentiful in it's offerings. I go a lot of lunches, probably 5-6 a month and there is often about 4-5 folks also fixing their salads so it is a pretty popular place. I have never had a salad that included slimy lettuce or un-fresh veggies. They are always A-grade items and I am so thankful for that! The staff are ok. I asked for some help in the bakery area and sort of felt like I was being a nuisance but the rest of the staff are good to go. The grocery prices are the same as other HT's...it is best to buy on VIC special to accommodate the increase of HT prices compared to others. I wouldn't use this locale for my grocery shopping mainly because it is a bit crazy and seems hectic. I want a more peaceful environment to get my shop on. read more

I recently used Harris Teeter express shopping. It is free for first time customers using this service. I gotta say it was very easy, a huge time saver, and so convenient. You go on the website express shopping log in or join and BOOM all there products are a quick search away. I just started a new diet where all I am eating is fruits and vegetables. So I need large quantities of produce and a few household goods. I add what I wanted to my list and schedule a pick up for the next day. You park up front, ring a bell, and within minutes they are at your car. You pay and they load all the groceries in your car. They also match products if they run out if you would like. In my case they ran out of the coconut water I wanted and gave me the next best thing which were large bottles for the same price. Worked out great for me! Another thing I love is the subs! Friday's they are on sale for $4.99 and you collect points every time you ordered one and use your vic card. They are a great deal for your money and tasty. read more

While Brit was finishing her run, I decided to knock out our grocery store visit for the week. Your standard grocery store. Great produce selection, fish and meat counters. What makes this Teeter stand out above others (and even other chains) that I have been to is the guy Michael behind the deli counter. Boar's Head brand has come out with more and more offerings, and it can become difficult to determine what pairs well with one another when melding meats and cheeses in a sandwich. Michael and I talked about the different meats, flavors, types of meat, and bounced those thoughts off of all the different cheeses that BH offers. He went so far as to provide samples of many of the different things we discussed. The big winner on the day I was there was the jerk turkey breast with the smoked gouda. Never would I have come across this interesting and complex flavoring pair had it not been for Michael, and the time he spent with me. If this HT was closer I'd be there weekly for this alone. Alas, with our move to Apex, it'll be an infrequent visit, but the deli counter will be my first stop every time. read more

Harris Teeter is a weird store. I love shopping there but I won't buy almost anything without it being on sale. A lot of their prices on things are just crazy. The buy one get one free is a sham. They sell a gallon of ice cream for like 6 bucks and advertise buy one get one free while the normal price at Walmart for the same thing is 2.99 everyday. I don't know who they are trying to kid on most of thes BOGO sales. To be fair there are some good deals they have there u just really have to be smart and know the prices in other stores. Their deli sandwiches are top notch and are very well priced, much better then anywhere else. They always have specials on full size subs etc.. Top notch. This is the biggest and nicest HT I've ever been in. They even have a bar in here. Seems awkward to be drinking in a grocery store, but hey, it's kinda cool to have it in there, I guess. I usually pass the closer one to go to this one IF I decide to shop at HT. My biggest beef at HT (yes, cheesy pun intended) is that they always try to make something act like it's a low price when it's "on sale" when it's just a regular price at somewhere like Walmart, Aldi, etc. In order words, the prices are high if they're not "on sale." Not Whole foods type of high, but still high. I like to get subs from here that they make because they'll let you pick a different kind of turkey if you request it. I usually just use the self checkout so I never really had to ask for service. read more

Several times that I've been there the deli department staff has been very rude and NEVER seem to want to help any of the customers. Also, I love Cannolis and when ever I order some, usually a dozen they seem upset that they have to fill them and always tell me they can't find the filling or it's in the freezer. There salad bar is nasty and their so called Chinese food is dry. I hate this place. As much as I despise Walmart, I'll choose them over HT. read more

Kroger is experiencing plummeting sales, evidenced by their closing several stores this year (2018) and last while Harris Teeter is enjoying tremendous growth as it continues to expand in what is called, "high value communities." Yeah, that's just fancy talk for saying they are only interested in "neighborhoods where people earn lots of moolah and like to spend it at high end stores!" Even so, I love Harris Teeter grocery stores. I haven't been to one yet that disappoints, including this one. HT always comes through. I can always count on finding most of my rare food faves and that means a great deal to me and my family. That includes foods like: - A vast variety of cheeses over by the deli, - Stunning desserts in the bakery cases, - Newly released items on the shelves, - Fabulous selections in the frozen aisles, -Great sushi that can be ordered, pre-packaged or made in front of you - Show-stopping hot food like ribs, pizza and chicken - An amazing salad bar with all the salad fixings you could ask for Yes, I could go on and on because all of that and more are right there for our purchase and enjoyment. Great service is probably their motto at HT! They are one of the few markets that will still carry your groceries ot to your vehicle and refuse your offer to to tip them! (EXPERT TIP: If I ask for help on a carry out to my car, I will still offer the employee a tip and even though they will not take it, I simply express my sincere thanks. That's just simple proper etiquette, so make sure you do that too. A simple "thank you" goes a long way so make sure you use it liberally in life with others.) Going to other chains, especially large discount ones headquartered in Arkansas, are such a chore especially when you have to fight other people for space in line. It's far too stressful! Why put yourself thru all of that when you can enjoy your shopping experience at HT. And guess what? If you're in a rush, you can download the HT app and simply place an "Express Lane" order for any and EVERYTHING you want in the store right from your computer, tablet or smart phone! For example, you can place your order in the morning and pick it up, without getting out of your car, on the way home from work. Whoa, mind blown, right!? But wait, it gets even better. You can try what I do weekly and just have your HT grocery order delivered via SHIPT! You just place an order via the SHIPT app (available in the app store along with the HT app) and your order can be delivered to your FRONT DOOR in under two hours (for a very small fee)! The green t- shirt uniformed shipt personal shopper will even carry the groceries inside to your kitchen if you need help. As a disabled person, that is a tremendous help to me. Now, tell me, who can beat that? Now, let me tell you about the stores in more detail. The bakery is amazing. Check out the desserts, breads, etc. as the items are always fresh and look like they are photoshopped bc they look so perfect. No kidding! The bakery team is always so helpful & accommodating. They will even try to help you with reasonable last minute requests like personalizing a cake or icing some cupcakes. All of the other departments are equally amazing. From the butcher, the seafood counter to dry goods, the entire team is there to enhance your shopping experience. Look for different foods and give them a try! It is completely possible for a great grocery store to open your mind to new foods, cultures and products. As such, HT is just the kind of store that can do that. Another piece of advice. Get yourself a "VIC Card," for their loyalty discount program. It will save you hundreds over the course of a year. I'm fine to pay a higher price, but if it's more than say 15% on a consistent basis, it feels like I'm being overcharged.) b) Narrow Check out lanes. I literally feel intimidated at times that I'm going to be knocked over by an oncoming cart when I'm swiping my credit card. This is my FAVORITE HT. It's also the one I would call "MY" HT in the sense that it's the closest one to my house and the one I go to the most. The double chocolate cake here is my favorite grocery store chocolate cake (excluding Fresh Market, but I feel like that's not really a grocery store because it feels so much more rare?). I like this Harris Teeter, but there are rarely cashiers available. Today I checked out $150 of groceries at the automated checkout (because there were no cashiers on duty for the entire 15 minutes I was at the store) and it took me nearly ten minutes because the computer and bagging section had discrepancies. Even as I was struggling with a full cart, employees watched and never offered to help. I can handle checking out my groceries, but I will just account for an additional 10 minutes of my day spent arguing with a computer. Not going to lie, I'm really looking forward to Wegmans. read more

I used to be an (almost) daily shopper at this location. I purchased sweet potatoes in a sealed bag-the kind you poke holes in and then microwave. I usually don't buy them in a microwavable bag but they were on sale. When I got home and opened the bag to take two potatoes out, one of the potatoes was squishy and filled with maggots. I have no clue how maggots got into a sealed bag but there they were all over the potato, my hand and then my floor. I went back to Harris Teeter and they gave me double my money back...$3.44. It wasn't even worth my gas to bring them back. Additionally this store's produce section constantly runs out of staples like basil, kale, green onions. Needless to say, the Maynard location now gets my business. read more

One of the nicer grocery stores in Cary. It's kept clean & neatly organized. The salad bar usually seems pretty fresh & well stocked. Customer service is top of the line, definitely knowledgeable. I went to this HT and was very dissatisfied with the customer service. I had a $10. coupon sent to me by HT and the coupon had expired the day before. I asked the cashier to honor the coupon and she called over a young man and I again explained that I wanted them to honor the coupon... as it was only 1 day. The young man said that he would not honor the coupon... I asked him to check with the manager as I couldn't believe that this would be an issue for 1 day. He spoke to the store manager (female)and returned to tell me that it would not be honored. Needless to say, I was disappointed but collected my groceries and proceeded to leave the store. I told the young man that I wouldn't be back... I also told him that I knew that Lowes Foods would have honored the coupon. As I was leaving the store the female manager approached me and asked if I was the one trying to use the expired coupon. I told her I was... she then offered to honor the coupon. What the heck??? I had already checked out and after she sees me she decides it would be ok? Something is very wrong with this offer. I usually shopped there often but will not in the future! read more

This store has a great Deli counter. Prepared sandwiches and salads are reasonably priced and fresh. If you join the e-vic club you can get good deals. Otherwise the food and produce are priced way too high to make this my main grocery store. Also, there can be quite a wait at the deli counter depending on the day off the week. read more
