I love my Charlotte Harris Teeters and Publix but dang, we really need a Wegman's in the Queen City. This place is absolutely insanely amazing. Multiple entrances and I ended up using the one on the side with the cafe and the fresh food. So much grab and go here and they have a really comfy dining room inside. It's awesome. Cheese, deli, sushi, sandwiches, pizza, heat-and-eat (and there's a microwave in the cafe), and of course, a massive grocery store with all the usual fishmongers, butcher, dairy, deli, frozen and everything else. Wegman's is a large store and always busy. The prices on regular groceries are cheaper than other stores but they don't carry as many brands to choose from so that is the trade off. Some of the store brands are very good though. I also like the bakery here but some of the items are really pricey. The prepared food is also extremely expensive. The produce section is nice and they sell plants in the back of it too. They carry a lot of items not available in other stores too and have a large organic and gluten free sections too. I still prefer other grocery stores in the area but am learning what items to buy at each store as all have different areas they excel in. read more

In the process of moving to the townhomes across the street, was in the midst of moving, so I thought about getting a sub, but I was unsure about the options, sizes and prices, so I thought I'd call and find out and this is how it went: Me: Hi, I was calling to see what size subs you offered, could you tell me? Employee: We offer small, medium and large. Me: How long are those sizes exactly? How many inches? Employee: IDK. When you come in, you'll see a sign up where they make them with the length. Me: ... Okay. A simple question and absolute refusal to actually assist me. It was bizarre. Please. If you're going to force people to engage with customers, make sure they're trained in etiquette and customer service. I've never asked an employee a question about something and that associate made zero effort to answer it... "Come in and look at the sign." Lmao read more

Our new Wake Forest Wegman's is now open. It's a super-sized supermarket, easily double your standard Harris Teeter or Food Lion. Emphasis is on fresh food - produce, bakery, meat, fish. There's a food hall vibe here, which to me is the biggest draw. Subs, sandwiches, pizza, sushi, poke, Asian, coffee PLUS a nicely appointed area to sit and eat - both inside and (covered) outside. Case in point - the couple of Poke bowls we tried today for lunch. Standard poke fare - choice of base, protein and garnishes. What's cool, and makes all the sense in the world, is that the ingredients are uber-fresh. I mean, they source the ingredients in-store! This is every bit as good poke as you'd get at a specialty shop. Of which the closest one is a 30 minute drive away. Plenty of choices for supermarkets in this area. Convenience to the store closest to home is likely to be the winner for me. But for ready-to-eat and prepared food, Wegman's is the place. And - don't be put off by the hype about crowds & traffic. The parking lot, local roads and the store itself are well planned. Sure there are plenty of people, but it's organized and safe. read more

Wow! Visiting a Wegman's on its' second day open is quite an experience. This location was full-on mobbed! Wake Forest has obviously been waiting for this store! Store was so busy that it was difficult to actually maneuver and see everything. We mostly stayed in the deli area. We chose a couple of bring home entrees - turkey, wings, Chinese food, slice of white pizza, cookies and a raspberry tea. First impressions- the food is quite overpriced. I included photo of our receipt. The turkey meal was $11, however it honestly wasn't much different tasting than another type of frozen meal. Wings were quite good. White pizza was very good. Coconut cookies were very fresh tasting super "coco nutty". I'm sure we'll shop at Wegman's again but will do more main grocery shopping instead of the pricier convenience items. Plenty of parking but again, it was mobbed! Store was spotless and well-lit. *Please note - I didn't take interior photos because it was so crowded and I try to not photograph customers. I love Wegmans, but my recent Meals2Go order was very disappointing. I ordered a sub tray of 4 large subs, Most were fine, but the cheese sub I ordered was so skimpy on the cheese it was like you were eating just bread. There were some vegetarians in our group, which I why I did just a cheese sub. Not much for them to enjoy. read more

Room for improvement. Communication between management and customer was very disappointing today. I am recovering from surgery and unable to get out for a couple of weeks. I ordered groceries using the app this morning. I added that my husband would be picking it up a little after the time my order was to be completed. I received a text that my order was ready and 'no rush, it will be here ready when you arrive.' So when he arrived I texted that he was there with details. The clerk came out, got my name, went back in and never came out again. My husband went inside to find out what was taking so long. The manager on duty was not very customer oriented in her response to him. Courtesy is all he was looking for, but unfortunately did not receive it. So he left angry. I was trying to be efficient with his time since I cannot get out right now. Instead shopping via the app is no longer an option for me because of this unfortunate interaction. Sometimes you need to stand down to make your customer happy. All we were looking for was courtesy and respect at this point. I have been a weekly shopper at wegmans and the clerks that ring me up have all been courteous. I don't understand why a manager needs to pull out their 'not my problem' card when they could try to offer solutions using patience and kindness. read more

Last night I decided to order Wegman's 2Go for a family luncheon the next day. I picked online a sub tray, salad, fruit salad. When I went to pick it up at curbside, it was a breeze. Everything was put into my trunk including serving utensils and a bottle of salad dressing. The sub tray was amazing. They were cut in halves probably about five inches long and they tasted so fresh and delicious. They came with lettuce and tomato in addition to the meats and cheeses, and the platter also came with 6 containers with mustard, Mayo, peppers, onions, oil and vinegar with spices, and cooked peppers. The fruit bowl was also delicious as was the salad. The ease of ordering, the sweet woman who brought the food to my car and the quality and price of the order was amazing. I would certainly order this food next time I have a family gathering. read more

We live about an hour away from Wegmans and it has always been a destination store for us. We went there Saturday for lunch and to buy Super Bowl food. However, they just installed a self check out at the food court which is your only option to pay. I don't like them to begin with and this one was super painful to use. We bought Buffalo Wings for Super Bowl Sunday that ended up being so dried out we had to throw them away. I certainly won't drive that far to Wegmans again to take a chance on poor quality and service. read more

It's one of my go-to stores. The produce section is excellent compared to Lowe's and Harris Teeter. Prices are also competitive. Large family sized meat packages are convenient. The majority of prepared foods are rather low quality and without much flavorful taste. And there's exceptions such as the sushi and salads, but that's about it. The store feels clean and the staff members are helpful. If the prepared foods had better flavor, I would've bumped it up to 5 stars. read more

There might be better supermarkets somewhere, but certainly not in Raleigh. Everything is fresh and first class. The variety is incredible. Some items are not available in any other local stores- e.g. Tristan Island lobster (probably the best in the world.) Pricing is slightly higher, but one gets what he pays for. One of the best grocery stores I've been to lately here on the East coast. The staff here are professional in servicing a consumer/customer, very helpful and friendly. They will go out of their way to show you where items are located in the store sans the flippant attitude. Very refreshing! Wegman's have a fine selection of a variety of goods and the store always appears to be organized and clean. Wegman's is definitely one of the top stores to shop here in Wake Forest, NC. At age 64 I am still continually asked to show to an ID when buying beer or wine. Every time, I refuse to show an ID to purchased a product I am legally allowed to buy; and every time I ask to talk to a manager, who proceeds to okay the purchase without seeing my ID. I've asked repeatedly if there is a better way to handle this, like, for example, trusting staff to make the determination that someone who looks every bit of 64 is over 21. They claim there is not... "it's policy." A policy that harasses customers seems like a bad idea. I usually shop elsewhere, but occasionally Wegman's is convenient for me to go to as I am out and about. So, as long as that is the case, I will keep playing this stupid game. I have a policy too; I don't conform to inane rules. read more

Would highly recommend! Wegmans has taken over food lions previous spot as our top grocery store to go to. The store itself is spacious, well organized, clean and has numerous specialty counters including the bakery (we love the bagels and snickerdoodle cookies), sushi bar (as good as any local place), the sub shop (enormous subs that are 10x better than subway or which wich), and the cheese bar (great selection and knowledgeable employees) just to name a few. Plus if you're shopping store brand the prices are little to no different. Our produce definitely lasts longer coming from wegmans and tastes better too. Their wine selection really can't be beat unless it's a wine shop and honestly nothing near Wake Forest compares. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and if you're looking to save time while shopping I love the scan and go app. Scan your items as you go and then scan a register barcode to pay and dip out quickly. I love the convenience and overall experience they have created in their store(s). They've made picking them as our grocer so easy. read more

Asked to have just a few items brought to the customer desk for pick-up, but then found one item was out of stock. Associate was willing to grab the couple of items, as others competitor stores do for pick-up at the front desk. However, the customer service manager then refused to allow the associate to help, and instead wanted me to pay for their curb side pick-up for just a couple of dry items. We all know you pay a high premium price for items at Wegmans, and I expect service to at least be on par with competitors rather than continue to find ways to take your money. Customer service manager has very poor customer skills and unfortunately reflects upstate New York location, where Wegmans originated. Going elsewhere for groceries....Happy New Year! read more

All I can say is WOW!!! Wife and I drove here from Knightdale. We have heard so many good things since the last location opened in Raleigh. The place is very spacious, and easy to navigate. All the vegetables were fresh, the bakery was outstanding. We picked up some sushi and Chinese all was really good. We are wine drinkers and the selection was tremendous. We will be taking the extra long trip to shop here. Sorry Lowe's, Harris Teeter and Publix....but so tired of your under stocked, sad veggie and confined spaces, we have a new grocery store!!!! read more
