This review is for the Harris Teeter located on Capital Boulevard in Wake Forest. The blond girl behind the deli counter blatantly discriminated against a black lady next in line, who needed assistance. The girl asked if I was being help and answered, "yes, but this lady next to me needs assistance. The girl literally turned her back and walked away. It was a terrible, awkward experience and I think it should be investigated. This review doesn't even deserve a one star. read more

I had a much better experience at the Capital Blvd Harris Teeter than Rogers Rd. The store is laid out differently so it took me longer to get around and find what I was looking for but that was to be expected. The deli/sub area had me waiting a little bit but I was acknowledged and could see how busy the two working were. The other difference was there were multiple registers open for checking out. Walked into this store and thought "It looks a lot like Ralph's (grocery store chain in our area AKA Kroger). Had sticker shock at some of the prices. It is more expensive than our food in Southern CA. I don't usually shop at Ralph's either or traditional grocery stores so maybe all stores are that expensive. Kidlet had a melt down so husband went to the car so as not to disturb other people shopping. I will say I had a hard time finding things and saw no employees to ask for help. The biggest annoyance? thing that made me angry? was the check out. Well first the check out is backward? You push the cart behind the counter where the employee is, then walk in front of the check out. That didn't upset me but was weird (weird like in CA grocery carts are outside not inside. Took me forever to get used to that). The thing that really made me mad was the employee asked if I had a Harris Teeter card. I said no, I'm visiting from out of town. He asked where and when I said CA he asked if I had a Kroger card. I explained no I do not shop there (and besides who the he&* travels with their grocery cards on vacation when most places you can enter a phone number?) I asked if he had a card he could scan for me. He stated no that was no allowed. He said only managers had a code that could do that and he would have to call a manager. I asked where you signed up for a card. he said I had to go to customer service. He told me Publix doesn't have a discount card. I said "Oh so they just give you the lowest price then with out making you have a card?" I will definitely not be shopping at Harris Teeter for the rest of my east coast trip despite the store being super close to where I am staying. read more

This store is amazing. Everyone is so helpful AND courteous. And Great location. They've stopped carrying some of the basic items I used to buy there and it's very annoying - like Large 28 oz PeterPan CREAMY Peanut Butter- and large 32 oz SMUCKERS Grape JAM !! And also--. NO ROASTED COOKED TURKEY OR CHICKEN BREASTS in the store just rotisserie chicken (yuck) !! Have to go to LOWES FOOD for this items !!!! :-(( read more

I live in Chapel Hill so I'll simply compare this location with 2 Harris Teeters near Southern Village (Chapel Hill). For the record, I'm not in the grocery industry. From an outsider looking in, I've always had very positive things to say about the stores near me. Until today when I happened to be in the Wake forest area and stopped by the Harris Teeter on Capital Blvd. Hands down, this store changed my opinion about the standard at which other Harris Teeters should be at. In other words, my local branches should be ashamed...the one at my location were dirty! Such as the vegetable shelves and and refrigeration units. The carpets were disgusting and neglected. I understand that staffing is short for everyone but as a manager myself, they can do better. Even the associates at the Capital blvd location were better mannered. You can feel the pride this location has of their store. kudos to the store director for the hard work! I hope your attention to detail and loyalty are noticed. Hezra the cashier was so unhelpful and just throwing my stuff into bags. He's so muffled when he speaks you can't tell what he's saying. Just seems like another kid today so glued to their phones they can't speak properly. Disappointing. Also tell me why a few months back I saw some fat lady on a scooter go over to the Asian Bar and take a chicken wing and eat it. She grabbed it with her bare hands and just ate it. Tell me why management didn't care when I told them? He just goes "oh sorry". I go to Wegman's now. At least they have decorum. read more

Usually good store with helpful people, but service has declined significantly the past few months. I did online order, complete with substitutes selected and was notified 9 items were out of stock (including subs). I went into the store later that same day and found all but 1 item was in stock (as were substitutes). Tonight, in checkout line and only 2 were open - both also had baggers. One had to re-scan the entire order (I had to ask if that was the case) while the other had a double-cart order. Three guys stood around not doing anything so it took 14 minutes to check out 12 items with only one person in front of me. No apology, nobody offered to help with self-checkout, just poor service. read more

I use to love my Harris Teeter but sadly that has changed. At one point we knew many of the folks in the store and we were always greeted with a smile or a friendly nod. Well things have changed and it is all new people. So we started ordering online. That went well too for some time and now that has changed too. Our orders are often late, notification phone calls are not provided, and several times we have received unacceptable produce. Hopefully things will change back for the better soon! read more

Hit the brand new HT twice yesterday. The Opening Ceremony was held at 8am yesterday. They had the ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor and then allowed all of their favorite customers to enter the new sparkling new location. We later went back around midnight to test out the 24 hour open policy and still found some cheerful and helpful associates. The store flows from the entry to the right into the produce section. The produce section is large and has a good selection of organics (but it is not Whole Foods). The cheese case is a pretty good size, but does not feature anything too gourmet, although they did have some Pate, which the Wakefield location does not have - so kudos for that. The floral, sushi, fresh baked bread, meat, seafood, and main grocery aisles are fairly typical for most other locations. The wine section does seem a bit smaller than the Wakefield store, but they do seem to have a pretty good variety. The far front left corner of the store has a large section of books, magazines, and dvds. However, what this store does not have is a pharmacy! Total bummer! read more

We ordered our Thanksgiving turkey from the deli. There was an problem with the side dishes that the store handled so graciously. They went above and beyond in resolving the problem. A lot of negatives at this store unfortunately and I'm a regular at most HT stores. For some ungodly reason the management has someone clean the floor first thing in the morning so you'll be walking through the produce department ready to bite the dust because the floor is like a hockey rink, why isn't this done in the middle of the night? Self checkouts often don't allow cash payment. Extremely annoying, many times all I have on me is cash. Last I checked, cash is still used. Self checkout attendant will stare at you as you check out like you're going to steal something. Also annoying. The one positive is the young lady who runs the Starbucks is very nice and the service is superb from her in the mornings. read more

Maybe I'm missing something.... the Yelp reviews totally do not correspond to what I experienced. I've lived in Wake Forest for almost 9 years. I love Wake Forest, and try to support local stores when I can. Not a particular fan of HT, but it is exciting when a new store comes to the area. This one is about 2 years old now, and I had never been to it because: 1. I am a creature of habit when it comes to my grocery shopping. 2. I hate Capital Boulevard and like to avoid it at all costs- especially on the weekend. 3. I like to save money. I happened to be coming up Harris Sunday and needed to grab a few things so I opted to finally try the HT on Capital/Harris. Parking was a freaking nightmare. Once I got in, there were no carts. I grabbed a basket and kept moving. There were people standing in aisles just staring at stuff. No one was moving in the orderly fashion that they should in grocery stores, i.e. keep right and move out of the way when someone is behind you. I felt that I was somehow trapped in either a zombie movie, or Walmart- it's really all the same, right? Once I finally got what I needed, I went to pay and the "General Manager" according to her tag was complaining to another Customer Service Manager about how she was afraid to go into certain departments of the store. She apparently was there for some sort of audit, or store check. Not sure but she complained the whole time she was checking me out. Plus, for just a few items, I spent more money than I would getting double the items at Lowe's Foods AND some of the organic items are actually cheaper at Whole Foods than they are at HT. Aside from Walmart, this may be the worst grocery store in Wake Forest. I guess I can check the box that I finally checked the box for this store, but I won't be back. read more

This grocery store has everything you need to feed your family and entertain guests. It's a beautiful store and the staff is very friendly. That said, this is always my last choice for grocery shopping in my neighborhood. Why? One reason - the prices. Nearly everything here is overpriced and costs more than the same brands do at just about every other store in the area. The only time I shop here is when I happen to be in the proximity to the store out of convenience. When I have time and I'm not in a rush, I almost always choose Lowe's Foods or Harris Teeter. (One thing that I do like about this store is the fact that I bank at PNC and the ATM here is a PNC ATM. So, no ATM fees for me!) read more

I have used this pharmacy for the past couple of months and it is HORRIBLE!! They do not contact you to let you know that your prescription is ready (thats a basic standard across the board, especially considering that it is 2018). Then when you do go to pickup, it takes FOREVER for someone to come to the drive thru window. I surely do not have this problem at Walgreens, CVS, or any other Harris Teeter. I usually do not write reviews but this is definitely not a 1 time experience and something needs to be done- at least for the future customers because I will NOT be using them. read more

I don't often shop for groceries at HT because their prices tend to be on the higher side and I don't feel like the quality of the products is any better than those I can get at Lidl for half (or even less than half) of the price. My current review is for their gas station. They have been the cheapest for gas prices in the local area. If you have their VIP card, you get even more cents off, too. I really thought it was neat that they had disposable gloves to put on for the pumps as they're considering the flu epidemic and germs overall. I hadn't checked; but, I do hope that the gloves are eco friendly and aren't contributing to waste. Their actual pump systems are pretty intense for fraud protection, too. Nowadays, I also appreciate that. If I do stop by HT, it is mainly for their gas prices. It'd be nice if the prices for groceries were lower; but, I'll just continue shopping local or at Lidl :). read more

Harris Teeter grocery stores leave me largely unimpressed. Designed to sell the same products at higher prices, one might think the staff and management might be trained to at least put on a facade of friendliness. I originally wrote this review based on this particular location. I've since been to other Harris Teeter stores and found the level of employee enthusiasm equally lacking. I confess that I'm not disappointed that my time in the Triangle is coming to an end. But, I leave at a fortuitous time for Triangle dwellers. Publix, a premiere grocery store wholly owned by its employees, is coming to your area. A full-service grocery store with top quality products with a staff to match. Don't see what you want in the aisles? Tell a manager, chances are it'll be on the next truck. Certainly, this level of service must come at a high price, right? That honor will still go to Harris-Teeter. read more

Terrible service and too high prices. This HT is by far the worst HT store in the area. What they need in this store is basic customer service training. Start off by greeting customers in bakery, deli, and checkout in a timely manner. Have enough lanes open to handle customers. Teach EE's how to say Thank You. 8/21/16. Customer service non existent. Went in this AM for a newspaper. No one at register. Hollered at some stockers for help. Their blank expressions told me they were clueless. After a few minutes I left the paper at the register and left the store. Unfortunately this type of service is often the case when I stop in this Harris Teeter for a paper etc. on a Sunday morning at 6:30 or so. Bad training. Bad management. read more

He helped me find exactly what I wanted for my wedding, was very accommodating, professional, and understanding. He threw in some appropriate humor to lighten the mood before telling me that my flowers would be under budget! Also encouraged me and shared websites with me to help keep things affordable. This is my favorite Harris Teeter. I have never had a problem with produce. I did have a problem with chicken from the case one time and they gave me a double refund, as is HT policy. Staff are friendly and the store is large enough for multiple carts in the aisles. Not too dark, not too light. Unlike Food Lion, they rarely have out of date items on the shelves. Best of all, if there's a line, they open another register. Self checkout is very easy to use. Good sales and double coupons. I do wish they had a pharmacy at this one. read more

This is the worst grocery store. Every time I go in there shelves don't even hold the basics. Tonight I went in and there was not one hamburger bun on the shelf or in the back. There are too few lanes open and people are 10 deep in line. The meat manager tried to be helpful but he can't come up with product they don't have. 5 stars for him.
