Publix has a lot of things that people not originally from Raleigh might not find at Harris Teeter or Food Lion. I shopped at Publix when I lived in Florida a few years back--it was my preferred super market in the Sunshine State. Produce, meats, seafood are always fresh. Grocery shelves are well stocked. The store is always clean. This store is located in a large apartment building with parking below. Only thing I don't like about Publix is that they don't have prices on the app unless they are a sale item. This makes it difficult to plan your shop. read more

I enjoy shopping at this Publix location. The store is always clean. I especially enjoy the fresh wild caught salmon and sea bass that I find here. It's top tier. I've also always enjoyed the fried chicken and the wings here. As a 1 person household the freshly chopped watermelon is smaller quantities are always my go to. I find the freshest and largest variety of fruit at this location. The staff here are pretty hands off but available to answer questions when needed and I'm okay with this. read more

Food Lion is our #1 rated and primary grocery store, so this review is limited to our "Publix Shopping List." Publix is our main supplier of BREAD!! Publix is near our home and convenient. Always clean and friendly staff. Bakery staff are amazingly helpful. Deli is always S-L-O-W compared to other stores and they have missed our pre-ordered meats a few times : ( Our Publix list is limited to bread, desserts, lunch meat, seafood (that is not frozen), and Publix branded Italian Hot Sausage (as a Pittsburgh native this is the closest to home hot sausage we have found!). We also like their $10 OFF gas card coupon when it gets published. read more

I lived in Florida for 30 years so I always love a good Pub Sub! I went at lunch on a Friday and everyone else had the same idea. The sub line took forever, but good things come to those who wait. I always love all the fresh veggie options for toppings. I tried the Boars Head jerk turkey and Gouda sub on white. It was delicious; great quality ingredients! Poor stocking. Unfriendly staff. Promised items are not in stock when we showed up. Chicken tenders at 9 dollars a pound were dry and old. Salad bar was half empty and no trays to put the salad in. Really disappointed because after moving here from Florida where Publix was everywhere and awesome! This one is a giant disappointed. Why 4 stars and not 5? Because I have yet to find a "perfect" grocery store but I will admit Publix is not too far behind. I had honestly forgot to post a review after the several times I've been to this location but seeing a friend's review reminded me. So here goes. I absolutely love the location for the fact that it's within walking distance for me from my office. Pre-Covid I would swing by at least once a week to grab a quick bite or pick up last minute items like water etc. which I was surprised bc I was expecting to pay at least $2-3 for a gallon of water but it was under $2. Score!! Normally when I go it's around lunch time and I take a late lunch so it's not that crowded in the deli, hot foods or salad bar section. I do wish they would place disposable gloves on the salad bar bc of covid but I normally keep a pair with me which comes in handy if I get a salad. Still kind of hesitant to eat from open salad bar areas though bc I know people are in that area a lot but you can't live in fear just be cautious! One thing Publix will get my money for is their cakes! OMG they're so delicious and fresh....well majority of the times but I think that particular cake was another location so I won't go into that. But my daughter ordered a cake for my mom's 60th bday and that cake was huge!!! We had so many people tell us it was delicious and not dry at all. We've ordered several cakes from various locations and for the most part we were not disappointed. read more

I gotta say that I'm enjoying my new Publix given that it's 1/2 a mile away! While I was a loyal Teeter fan, Publix has become an important part of my grocery and lunch plans pretty quickly. Easy, underground parking, pop up the stairs or elevator to a light and bright grocery store. Grab some cookies or baked goods, then a Pub Sub at the deli, produce in the back and then shop for the rest of your groceries. A big thumbs up for their chicken tender pub sub, house ice cream and meats. I've only been here four or five times but impressed. It's a big store for something so convenient to downtown. And the staff is super nice here! So rock on, Publix! We've got so many great grocery choices now with you and Wegmans in town. And that is a great thing! read more

I had Publix cater 2 events for my new business. The Cuban sandwiches were good and fresh. The banana and honey roll ups not so much. The roll ups were hard. Not edible. Convenient to downtown and usually not super crowded like the Wegman's on Wake Forest which is a true hell on Earth when they are busy. The store is clean and the front of house staff is super friendly. On the other hand, I find I am constantly having to navigate around vendors and stockers, who more often than not cannot be bothered to move their carts to give you space to get by, or even acknowledge your existence for that matter. One stocker today had their cart turned perpendicular to the flow of traffic and literally blocked the entire aisle. I get that it's cheaper to stock during store hours, but the lack of consideration for the shoppers is disappointing. I've also found frequently that there is only a single non-self checkout lane open at a time, and more and more often these days, I'm stuck behind the Instacart types who have multiple orders, or inundate the cashier with questions as to whether or not they got the right item, or are otherwise stalling for time while they deal with the app. read more

I like that this store is downtown but I've noticed a few things about the bakery sometimes. Once I saw items marked at the wrong price because staff put the wrong tag on them. All of the small pies were marked with the size of the large price. I told the person in the bakery and she was nonchalant about the mixup like nothing would be done. I knew the price was wrong because I normally buy the item. Anyway, this week I went in the store and some of their bakery items were running out of time, like in 1 or two days. It was a lot of stuff. Instead of them marking down the price, they put a new label on top of some items. I noticed the sell by date but I didn't notice the label on top of another until I left the store. It's not a good practice. Just mark it down because it's not as fresh. I bought three different items for a work event or else I would have taken them back. Two items had stickers over the original. If I see this again I will discuss this with customer service. Maybe the original sticker was an error. I didn't ask, but my items did not taste fresh. I will say that at this store I once got a comp frozen item because the price did not ring up as shown on placard. This is normally practice at some Publix store, I think. What a bad experience...I ordered a holiday turkey meal from the Raleigh Publix on Peace street and the deli there forgot to fill my order. After an awkward wait, the guy in the deli threw a bunch of random stuff in the bag and said my order was complete. I checked the bag in front of them and said that I some of the items were missing items. (I.e. The fresh bakery rolls, the pie and my second mash potatoes), but he refused to listen. He said pie and rolls are in the front and that my order only listed one mash potatoes. Note: There was only one mash potatoes listed individually on the receipt because the other one is part of the actual Turkey meal bundle. I asked to speak to a manager and he found the missing pie that I pre-bought in the bakery and the other guy coevally threw a bad tiny bag of Hawaiian rolls in my bag (instead of the 12 pc bakery fresh ones that I pre-purchased). The Manager seemed like he was not listening to me about the other oddities. So as I left and said to him what was the point of pre-purchasing this stuff, if some of the items I ordered were not ready and others not available at my scheduled pick up time? No one at the store cared except for one young lady that was bagging my other groceries, she said I should speak with her manager and when I said I did already he left the front area. Note: One of the other randomly unauthorized substitutions that I noticed is that they gave me Marshmallow Delight (made with coconuts) and I am allergic to coconuts. Also the switching out my mash potatoes for a huge gravy exemplifies how careless they were in preparing my order. This is Publix, not KFC there are no mash potatoes at the bottom. read more

Was disappointed! 8 pm on a Sunday traffic in the store was descent. Found all that I was looking for, prices where as expected, but that location is lacking customer service in all areas. Beginning at the deli. We literally stood there waiting for the employees behind the counter to finish this whole convo about scheduling, who was inn and who was off and who didn't do there jobs SMH My husband interrupted them, but got cut off and told we will be right with you. I was so excited when the Publix came to my area. All the other Publix supermarkets were more than 30 minutes away from me and I never ventured out to them. I love the convenience of having a supermarket close by that offers fresh meats and produce. Other supermarkets in the area are good but they do not offer the freshness of Publix. I also enjoy the fresh made subs as well as the fried chicken. The fresh seafood selections are also great even though I don't eat it I do purchase it for my family. I also like the covered parking especially when it rains. I am currently looking to transfer my prescriptions to this location because I have heard that their pharmacy benefits are excellent. read more

Some days are better than others. Some days it's stocked other days it looks like it was ransacked. You will also learn the price listed at the display isn't the price you'll be charged a lot of the time. When there is a difference, it is always more expensive when you scan the item than what they show in store. They have a store policy about this, but it's self checkout where 1 person is working 5 registers. You can't call that person over to complain your item is more than shown in store, you just have to wear it and move on. They have normal registers but usually only 1 is open. read more

Harris Teeter Who? Yeah I don't go there anymore. This Publix has such a wonderful selection, and their customer service is top notch. They built this grocery store in the perfect location as it's extremely accessible and convenient. Sometimes we walk there when we're bored. Pro Tips: -Their key Lime Pie is the best I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of KLP. -Students get a discount with student ID. read more

This store just isn't reliable for order ahead or order pickup- always some rhyme or reason why your order isn't ready. I'm understanding of staff shortages and such, but someone has to go into their internal system to "confirm" that order is ready before notification gets sent to customer. If someone is doing this, without orders being ready, a staffing shortage is irrelevant. read more

Full disclosure: I've never actually stepped foot in this location, but that's because I've been getting my groceries delivered lately. In any case, I'm impressed with the selection of organic or gluten free or Whole30-approved items. This Publix always has that niche product that is hard to find at other stores, like Wegmans. They have the entire line of Applegate or Red Mill products. If you're conscious about what you cook with, that alone will tell you a lot. read more

If you like the smell of dog poop from the tenants/dog owners living above the store or potentially walking in dog poop, this is the place for you. Love Publix, but the conditions in order visit this one is not worth it. Location underneath a pet-friendly building is disgusting--don't want to walk into an animal while shopping or exiting. Gave it shot a year ago early in the morning but was turned off upon meeting a dog at the entrance. Tried one more time recently, but the stench was too much. Took one step out my car and jumped right back in, afraid I stepped in poop by how bad it was. read more

I love shopping here for groceries. Some things are a bit overpriced here but I'm sure it's in exchange for a clean store, well stocked shelves, and huge variety of foods. Very upset with the Bakery. Ordered a 35 count brownie bite tray last Tuesday. Get a call this morning they don't have any. They can cut up brownies to make tray but won't have the toppings the brownie bites come with. So confused and disappointed. read more

The deli subs are great and all. My problem is every time I order ahead they're never ready when I get there. The time to pick up is not the time when you start making the sub. I had to wait an extra 30 minutes before I could leave. It was very frustrating! I gave it 5 chances, I seriously doubt I will get their subs again.
