Lowe's is one of my favorite grocery stores in the area. I was really sad when the one on High House closed. But it looks like at least a few of those employees were transferred to the Tryon location. Everyone who works there just seems so happy, they're always laughing and smiling and happy to chat with customers. It's just a really nice ambiance. The produce is super fresh with great prices. One of the best things about Lowe's is that they mark down their food that's getting close to the expiration date. I've been able to get huge containers of house made guacamole and salsa for just a couple bucks. It's worth checking out! read more

Sigh. It's always expected. but not known until you face it: Moving out of an area can result in a dearth of those things you like but now know you took for granted. Lowes Foods is one of those. The store itself is like any other grocery store, but they always do a good job of stocking local, and regional fare that isn't available outside the area unless you spend a fortune having it shipped. Lowes chicken -- all things chicken from the deli is one of those --- as must as I like WFoods, Lowes does their chicken and chicken salad in a certain way that just puts it in the win column for me. The version with cranberries -- not in stock when I was there -- was always a go-to. Other things I didn't know I would miss until they weren't available: pimento cheese spread -- yeah -- I know -- pretty common , ordinary, and often considered low-brow, but there are rare times where something so ordinary would hit the spot. Easy to make, but not to duplicate. Maybe it's not the food so much as it is the "southernness" of Lowes and the offerings they have that aren't found elsewhere, either at the other chain stores in the area or in other parts of the country. I don't know what it is, but Lowes shouldn't be overlooked if you want a store with local roots. read more

There are highs and there are Lowe's, and this is definitely one of the Lowe's. This is an inexpensive grocery store that you can find all the over the Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill Research Triangle area, and it's not my favourite, because I don't usually have all the things that I would get at a store like HEB in Texas. And although the prices aren't always too bad, they're a little on the high side for me and are comprable to Kroger which is very overpriced. It's pretty funny that a grocery store is doing Yelp check-in offers. I haven't seen that before. They're kind of on the expensive side but I like them because they're local. read more

Even though this location has the smallest seating section, they have the best bartender, Nick, at the Beer Den. Plus the restrooms are clean and in the Beer/wine area, so super convenient for when you are there. $5 a pour with 2 beer limit. 1/2 pours on Thursdays again which get pretty crowded. Growler fills also available, 1/2 priced on Saturdays. Grocery store is fair otherwise, prices and quality are in range with Harris Teeter. read more

This Lowes is trying very hard to stand out stuck in between two Harris Teeters and a Whole Foods. Then a Trader Joes not too far away as well as a Target. They've done a great job UPSCALING the store now. What I love about this place is the seafood market. They have some incredible sealed packages of Tuna Steak which are so delicious just seared in a hot pan, seasoned with garlic, parsley, capers, and lemon then pulled apart and topped on a Caesar Salad. The produce is always fresh, and their selections throughout the perimeter are well stocked. I get Cashew Milk here every week. I picked up a chicken pot pie in the deli because I wanted a quick, no-hassle lunch, and it was fantastic. I love the frozen meal section where I can get a variety of healthy lunches of nearly any cuisine. The people here are very friendly and helpful, and the store is clean. I don't know why the store has scored lower stars. I am perfectly pleased with this store. And a big plus is the Milk Lab is right around the corner (shameless plug for one of my favorite indulgences). read more

Went to Lowes to buy a 42oz Quaker Quick Oats last week. The price was over $7.00 today it is over $8.00. I purchased a five-pound container of the same exact product at BJ's for $7,49. This is price gouging! I've consistently shopped at this Lowes for six years. I haven't shopped there since last week. I get it with covid etc. but some of their products for example produce is not up to par. The produce area at times didn't look neat and the produce looked withered and unappetizing. I spoke to the manager about it. Most of the people working behind the deli appeared to be new and didn't know how to separate cold cuts like liver sausage or cheese so that it doesn't stick together and create one big ball. I was told by a deli worker when I asked for mozzarella, they didn't carry it anymore, he hadn't seen any...What I've not been back to this store. Don't insult your customers ability to make right choices. read more

I occasionally find myself shopping at Lowes Foods specifically this location and I have to admit hands down the best customer service ever! The staff is very friendly and courteous, always going out of their way to assist. They pretty much have everything you could possibly want from groceries to vegetables, fruits, and such. However, the reason for the four star rating is for some odd reason they're always slightly more expensive than other places with similar products like Harris Teeter or Food Lion. This used to be my favorite place to get groceries. However, over the past year they have really gone downhill. I think this has more to do with corporate decisions than anything on the local level, but it is still troublesome to see. I have basically stopped shopping at Lowe's for three reasons: selection, brands, and obviously rotting meat that they are trying to sell at a discounted rate. Johnsonville is the leader in pre-cooked Bratwurst (I am sure you have had them at picnics). They have the "Jalapeno & Cheese" variety, and the "Polish" variety - but they do not have plan old "Beef" brats. Lloyd's is the leader in BBQ. Every grocery store on the planet sells it - except Lowe's. In its place, they have some weird local brand that is vinegar based - yuck! If your looking for San Giorgio pasta - forget it...you won't find it at Lowe's. If you are looking for frozen breakfast items - you will be limited to waffles only. They do not stock any of the Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowels, or Aunt Jemima breakfast platters. I could go on and on - but you get my point. I think that Lowe's corporate management has decided that they cannot compete on price...so they are trying to compete by differentiating themselves. The only problem with this strategy is that they are carrying brands that no one wants, while missing out on some of the core items. The final straw occurred yesterday when I was in their meat department. They had obviously rotting meat with "red stickers" that was being sold at deeply discounted prices. When I say obviously rotting - I mean steak and ground hamburger that had turned dark brown. Out of curiosity I pulled back one of the red stickers and saw that the expiration date was 4-days ago. Not only is this disgusting, it is probably a health and safety issue as well. I will no longer be shopping at Lowe's. The employees are always polite, the store is generally laid out well...but some issues you just cannot overlook. read more

If you live close by, this place is convenient, but the prices are a lot higher. Milk is at least $1.50 more and Fage Greek Yogurt is about $1 more. They have an awesome hot food area where they serve fried chicken and grilled chicken and other "home style" meals that is really good. They excel in their offers for the items they make in-house. They have really awesome fudge that I often crave. You can also sample beer there, which is pretty cool. Over all, I wouldn't avoid this grocery store, but I also often go to grocery stores that are further away because I feel like the prices on the items I get make it too expensive to go here. read more

Finished shopping went to check out, female checker with long pink hair,standing there wouldn't look at us, we asked if she was open, she continued to ignore us. Then another girl saw what she was doing and ran to the express and checked us out. Just as soon as she had finished checking us out the girl with the long pink hair turned her light on and smirked at the girl who checked us out. The best staff ever. The beer garden employee is the friendliest guy. The produce staff are incredible- one time my 3 yo and I were debating apples and he went out of his way while stocking to get us a couple to taste test. Once they were low on Jalapeños and the guy insisted to go find us better ones. My favorite grocery store, makes it worth the higher prices. read more

This review is not for a particular store, but for Lowe's Foods in general. If zero stars were possible, that's what it would be. This company does not honor their commitments to customers. Last summer I visited a Lowe's Foods at the beach in N.C. An employee scanned my groceries at the self-checkout, and in the process she scanned a case of water twice. I contacted corporate with the issue and they quickly issued me an e-gift card (via e-mail). Fast forward to today, February 8, 2023, and I finally decided to use the card. At checkout, the clerk and a manager spent 10 minutes attempting to scan the gift card and enter the Pin number. It didn't work. The manager offered to transfer the balance onto a physical gift card for me. He then spent the next 20 minutes on the phone with Guest Services explaining the situation to them (over and over). Their response was that the e-gift card was still valid and they couldn't transfer it to a physical card. Their suggestion? Try it again the next time I come in. Nope, there won't ever be a next time. I won't set foot in a Lowe's Foods again. I visited twice, and both times I had an awful customer service experience. If this is how they treat customers I want no part of it. There are too many other options for me to waste my valuable time with a second-rate organization like this. read more

Just left the store had a problem at self check out had to wait for a manager to show up when she got there she had an attitude made a few smart comments to me and walked away then she sent over the security guard to watch me buy a roll of paper towels after my purchase I asked the security guard when the head manager would be in and a smart ass way she said that's the manager I need I said thanks that's not the one I want as I was walking out and a very smart ass way she said have a nice day god bless them they're trying so hard to be like Publix and at this particular store the management staff is no better than Piggly Wiggly look at the ratings they only have a three star rating tells you the stores not that good read more

I have to say, this store exhibits by far the most memorable customer service of any in the area. My wife and I have recently switched to Lowes from Harris Teeter primarily for this reason. (Not to say the service at Teeter is bad, but Lowes outdoes it and also runs great specials) The atmosphere is delightful, the people are kind, conversational and welcoming, and the service is exquisite. Last Saturday we stopped in to take advantage of the awesome 25% off meats and deli special because we were headed to a cookout. After asking the two guys behind the "fresh made sausage" counter how long to cook the meat for the best taste, not only did they walk around the counter and chat with me about the grilling conditions, but since I didn't have a meat thermometer on me, they gave me theirs and sent us on our way. Not only was the surprise gesture much appreciated, but the sausage turned out so good that one of our friends stopped into Lowes the very next day (for the first time) and bought some herself. You've earned some very satisfied customers and I would like the managerial staff to know how much of an asset those two gentlemen are to your organization. Hats off to you guys. You've earned two lifelong customers! read more

I like the store a lot especially since the redesign, however, they need to hire people in the Deli department that I actually know how to slice cold cuts. I spent $11.59 on a pound of ham, asked for it to be sliced very thin, One side was shredded and the other side was very thick. It's not the first time that I've had cold cuts slice terribly at that store. It's not that hard to use the slicing machine, and slice cold cuts properly. I worked for a friend of mine who had a deli, and I used the slicing machine all the time, never had a problem slicing the meat evenly. It may take a little longer to do it properly, but for the price that I'm paying I expect that. read more

Got to ck out and of course the ckout guy knew nothing about it, so had to get the msnsger, so then asked to get a bag of ice ckout guy said I had to go to customer service. This review is not so much about pricing (its a bit high overall but not for the bakery) but about the service. Recently I was trying to find someone to make my daughter a PJ mask cake and had been to Walmart and Harris Teeter and was just told "nope we don't have that". When I asked the same question of the cake decorator at Lowes she explained why that wasn't an option and then offered to try to make something that would coordinate with the party. She worked with me to create a backdrop for some PJ masks figures that I purchased and as so friendly she really relieved my stress level. Additionally another time I had gone to get cupcakes as Harris Teeter as its closer to our house and all they had were holiday themed cupcakes. I was told no cake decorator was working that day or the next and they couldn't make any more in other colors (I needed birthday cupcakes). I went to Lowes and again got excellent service and bonus ! They had a variety ready to go. I have been asked if I need help by so many employees there its incredible. I will not be using any other bakery any longer and I have started frequenting the store more recently. Their beer area is great as well with tastings, and they usually have some other tastings in store near the bakery/deli going on at night. read more

I stopped here one evening last week to shop. They have modified all of their shopping carts with some sort of brake system that prevents them from exiting the store without first passing through a check out. Unfortunately, it also makes them quite difficult to push while you are shopping. I tried 5 carts in an attempt to find one that was easy to push and all 5 SUCKED! I spoke to a woman in their customer care center to complain about it and she said do to theft, that was the way it was. No apology. I am never going back to that store again, nor will I go to any Lowes which modifies their carts, including my home town store. N. E. V. E. R. ! I left the store, went to the nearby Harris Teeter and dropped $50 on snacks, drinks, and deserts in an impulse buy. read more

Went to Lowes for deli meats and cheese after going to the new Mike's Used book store, which is great, in the shopping center on Tryon and Cary Pkwy intersection. Waited approximately 8-10 minutes at the Deli counter for someone to come over to help. There were three people working in the deli just looking up every once in a while, but alas no service. So the store looks much improved, product looks better but it seems that service still is rather awful. Ended up going o Harris Teeter to get the few things I needed. Lowes loss of yet another potential customer. Oh well!!!! read more

This location needs some customer focus training. Other than the guy who runs the deli department, Nick, who is amazing at customer service, it is lacking...A LOT...in every other department. Every time you ask someone a question, they seem put out to help you. If they ever respond. Was at the meat case and the butcher came out and I asked, "do these bone in pork chops come in a pack of 4 instead of 6"? All I got was a head shake no and off he walked. When I asked this question at a competitor, the butcher said, "You know they don't, but give me 5 minutes...I'm going to go back and cut you 4 fresh ones." Second time, called the bakery and asked about if they were making certain cookies for Cinco de Mayo, "Ah, well, she didn't say anything about that", OK, are you doing any other holiday specific bakery items?, "Ah, I don't think so", Well do you have key lime pies? "We have those year round (but not with a cust svc tone). I like the selection at this store and it's convenient but not sure I will continue to shop here simply because I hate spending in money in a place that makes me feel as if I'm bothering them when I need assistance. On top of that, the prices are higher at Lowes for a lot of items I can get much cheaper at competitive stores and get the customer service I expect. read more

This grocery store has just reopened after a major renovation and it is fantastic! It looks just like the Whole Foods down the street. They have given it a local flair (naming the check-out aisles after local streets) and decorated it with local and NC photos. The lighting is much improved and it is a much more pleasant place to shop. The staff is very outgoing, chatty and helpful (I think they have been re-trained to go with the new branding). The wine selection is excellent. My favorite new perk is the "Prep and Go" spot. Here they have already pre-cut veggies (i.e., onion, green pepper) already chopped to save you time. And if what you are looking for is not in the case there is a staff member there to chop whatever you need! Great idea! Please give this Lowe's location another chance if you haven't been there in a while. Would love to see this location thrive and give HT & Whole Foods a run for their money! read more
