Perhaps I've gotten spoiled by bottle shops recently, but I wasn't very impressed with their current selection of beer. It seemed like they were out of a lot of stock. The NC craft beer section was lackluster with pretty typical brews you can always find. When I go into these types of stores I expect to find beer that isn't offered all the time everywhere else. I will say that I was offered help by an employee pretty quickly (rather than not being acknowledged like what happens at many places these days), which was good. This locally owned and welcoming shop has a great selection of wine and beers. I love that it is not super overwhelming and it is so easy to shop and get what you need and maybe a little bit of what I do not need. While I was shopping I was warmly greeted not once, but twice by the owner Chris. He took the time to show me a few Riesling and Chenin Blanc options. There was no pressure to buy, he just genuinely wanted to have a conversation with me. He also asked if I wanted a sample of seltzer and of course I did! I ended up trying it and getting an eight ounce pour and was able to walk around while I shopped--winning! Every store should have this option!! Chris greeted me once again and mentioned the amazing events they will have in 2022, so I will be back for them and of course more drinks. Ended up cleaning up buying a bottle of wine and tons of seltzers and beers as a few were on sale. My total was just $30, so such a great deal! Skip the store next door and come to Triangle Wine!! We came here a few weeks ago for a YELP Event and couldn't wait to come back. We saw the "boozy ice cream" in the freezer and thought it would be a great treat for our adult kids to enjoy during the holidays. It's unique. While we were trying to decide which flavor to get a lovely young man (OK, maybe not so young) I would guess he was an owner came by and shared his opinions about the flavors. He left for a few minutes and came back with some SAMPLES !!! How nice !!! We ended up purchasing a few flavors and will come back for the one flavored with bourbon. They have a good selection of wines, but it's not worth stepping into this establishment to receive such abuse. I hesitate to leave this scathing attack on any retailer because the punishment, a long-term negative review, stays on the internet forever and could outweigh the transgression. TWC is great! Whether you're looking for a bottle or wine or beer to take home, or want a glass after work, the recommendations they provide are fantastic. I don't think I've ever gotten a bad bottle from here. I like stopping by and grabbing a glass of wine and some food from Whole Foods and spending time at the bar or on the patio. Vast beer and wine selection and knowledgeable, helpful employees! I arrived looking for a specific beer that the website mentioned was in stock but it actually was an error. After looking around for it for a short amount of time, an employee asked if I needed help finding anything. I told them what I was looking for and they said they did not have it. Immediately they offered to call the other locations since I mentioned that I had seen it on the website as 'in stock'. Unfortunately the other location did not have it and the website was just inaccurate. No worries since they had numerous other beers to choose from. After perusing the shelves for a while I decided on a few IPAs and some other local beers. After checking out, one of the employees discussed my beer choices with me and his recommendations, which was very helpful. They have an incredible selection of both wine and craft beer with a knowledgeable staff. Also, to my amazement, they have a bar on premises. Very relaxed friendly environment both family and pet friendly. They have tables indoors and outdoors and people bring their pets to sit with them inside. Christian, one of the representatives, is always quick to pour and very knowledgeable of the wide selections they offer. Erin, the store manager, does a fantastic job in bringing in new wines and craft beers throughout each month, especially for people who are not as familiar with what this industry has to offer. I used to go here all the time but have since moved away. Stopped by to browse and pick up some beer. When I went to check out the general feel I got from the staff was snotty and as if they were doing me a favor. Lots of other places to get beer around so service should be a larger deal. I went in looking for a particular beer. I went through the whole store I never saw the beer or someone to ask. I then waited a few minutes in the front for someone to appear to help. Another customer walks in to pick up something left at the register for him. Not only did a man appear out of no where to help him, but another man comes from the back to see if he could help him. This customer had to walk in front of me to stand at the register to be wrung up. When he tells the new guy that he has been helped but the first employee went into the back and check on something for him the second guy asks if he can at least ring him up while he waited. Again the customer said no he was fine. The second employee then went back to the back. Not once did either of these two people even look at me or offer to help. The customer had to literally walk around and stand in front of me to be helped by the people tripping over themselves to help him. I just left! I hate feeling like I do not matter, especially when I want to spend money in their establishment. This is not the first time I have struggled to find help in this store. But this is the first time that I have been so blatantly ignored. read more

Very large selection of beer and wine. There is a small bad where craft beer is on tap as well. The North Carolina craft beer selection is not huge however they do carry Wicked Weed. Wine selection is fine and very similar to what you find at Total Wine, Wine Merchant, Great Grapes, and all the other local wine sellers. Prices are also comparable. Where Triangle Wine fails is in its customer service. We purchased a few bottles of a valpolicella and when we went to drink the first bottle, the cork had quite a bit of crystallization and the wine tasted like vinegar. Not a big deal - this happens. When we went back to return the bad bottle the employee was extremely disorganized, did not know the store policies on returns, and politely reprimanded me for discarding the unused contents of the bottle and the cork. The only option provided was another bottle of the same wine - no issues here - we tend to like the brand we purchased. However, none was left and the employee was again completely disorganized; having to ask multiple people what to do. Ultimately we just grabbed something with the same price and tried to be on our way. Before we could leave, the store policy is to get a copy of the original receipt but the employee could not figure out how to work the scanner. Rather than spend more time working through this - we just gave them the original and left. All of this took over 30 minutes to get through. All of this over a simple $15 bottle of wine. The way we were treated you would have thought this was a $100+ bottle that we drank and then tried to pawn off as bad so we could get another. We rarely get bad bottles, but when we have and we took them back to other stores, there was never this much conversation and process - simply a nod, quick "sorry 'bout that", and a statement to grab something else off the shelf. I will not be visiting Triangle Wine Co again; especially when there are alternative stores in the same vicinity who are much easier to deal with. read more

Yes - I am a fan. My husband and I happened into TWC one weekend when we were treating ourselves to a trip to Whole Foods (right next door). We are craft beer aficionados so, when we saw that they carried craft beer, we had to check them out. We were both pleasantly surprised. Half of the store is dedicated to craft beer and I'll be honest, I haven't been disappointed on a single trip in. I have always found them to have one of my favorite six packs in stock. Tonight, for example, I found their last six pack of Harpoon Winter Warmer - on March 3. This is one of my top 3 winter beers. Although I'm ready for spring weather, I'm still in the mood for my winter brews. TWC, you made my night. That seems to happen for my husband or myself on each visit. So - I don't think we will make many trips to Waverly place (we also love the TMAC sports bar in the same shopping center) without stopping by TWC. Tonight, I also noticed that they had a good variety of Ginger Beers. I use these to craft the Bermudian cocktail - Dark and Stormy. They had two high quality Ginger Beers in stock - Barrett's and Goslings (Goslings is my favorite rum for these drinks too). Anyway - we keep being pleasantly surprised so, we definitely recommend that you stop by too. read more

Amazing wine selection right next to Whole Foods in Waverly Place. I ordered a case of French wine from this location and I could not be more pleased.
