Incredible place. The reviews don't lie. This is the best catfish and hush puppies I've ever had. The staff is so warm and welcoming. We also had the Mac and cheese and collards, both great. Can't wait to come back and try everything. Wonderful place. Highly recommend!

I arrived right at opening time. The dining room was clean and well-lit. I purchased the flounder and shrimp entree. The Flounder is very good. Seasoned just right and palatable for the location (Apex). Not overly and under seasoned. Mac and cheese are good - flavorful, creamy, and cheesy. Hush puppies could be better. The texture wasn't my liking. The collards were perfect. The collards were seasoned with pork, and it's very hard to mess up anything with pork. Overall, good food and great customer service.

Whose grandma is in the back cooking this. I'm from the south so I know some good seafood and this is what I call some good soul food. The fish is flaky and fresh. I'm definitely coming back here.

My mom and daughter were in town for a wedding and I treated them to dinner at this restaurant. My mom is one of the best soul food cooks I know and she thought that the food was amazing! And it was. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. I'll be returning soon.

Today, I had the bang bang shrimp, collards, mac n' cheese, and hushpuppies. This time I remembered to take a picture. You can tell looking at the plate it's going to have a lot of flavor. Another delicious visit! Highly recommend.

The Fish House Eatery is open in Apex. My mom and I dined in for lunch a few weeks ago and had a good experience. I ordered the lunch plate with flounder, cabbage and mac & cheese with a lemonade. The fish was just okay but I really enjoyed the sides, I'll definitely be returning soon.

Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were always full and checking on us at just the right moments without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious. The fried flounder was outstanding--perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly flaky and fresh on the inside, and not greasy at all. We also tried the Chicken Jarrett, which was incredibly savory, juicy, and packed with flavor. It is a fantastic option if someone in your party wants a break from seafood! The…read moremini crab cakes were a perfect starter and I enjoyed their very flavorful but not spicy version of their popular shrimp & grits. Nice atmosphere inside, but recommend reservations as they fill up quickly. The Deets: Some friends/coworkers and I decided to catch up over a meal and we decided on trying out this location of Cape Fear Seafood Co. on Lake Pine Drive. I had been to the one located in the Village District (formerly Cameron Village) of DTR in the past and knew of this one opening up through Yelp. If you know me, I am usually not one for seafood but remember I had a pretty good experience at the one in DTR. We noted that it would be a good idea to have a reservation so one was made. Good thing, this place gets crowded fast, even around the 5pm point. Upon arrival, we were promptly shown to a table with menus. While walking in, this restaurant has that beach type feeling with brightly painted areas and subtle pelagic decor without going overboard. The bar area gave a warm, inviting vibe. Back to the menu, their menu is pretty expansive but not over the top multiple pages. I think even the non-seafood lover can find something to like here. We started with hush puppies for the table and I went with the appetizer sized mini crab cakes for myself. I loved the mini crab cakes and the lemon beurre blanc sauce with them, just enough for a starter and tasted great. The hush puppies were good as well but just a tiny bit too brown for me, they were a little bit more done than I'd like. I like them more of a golden finish instead of brown, just my preference. For my main dish, I went with their Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits. They are a pretty popular choice here and I remember liking them at the DTR location. They remained a great choice, they were delicious. They are very flavorful and enjoyable without being spicy, which I like as I am non-spicy food person and it seems most everywhere does their shrimp & grits spicy. I find this take on them refreshing. I would have liked more cheese grits in the serving as it seems to be like a half serving, however the shrimp as well as the creamy sauce were plentiful. Service did a good job here, checking on us periodically. In all, I liked this experience here at Cape Fear Seafood Co. for the most part and would enjoy visiting again in the future.

But no, I was indeed at Sora and parked just fine on a Saturday afternoon. The woman up front let me sit where I wanted. Jenny was my server. She was welcoming, helpful and kind. There's a lot going on with their menu, but the pictures were generous. I appreciated that! With Jenny's help, I ordered the Rolls Royce and the Naruto Roll. Also, the pork bun and spicy edamame. It was too much food, btw. But the rolls were bogo, so I had to get two. Two winners, two almost losers. The Royce was flavorful while the Naruto was bland. They know this, so they give you a "Naruto Sauce," which didn't help much. Besides, the pieces were so loosely packed that their insides kept falling apart into the sauce bowl. It was a dumb scene and I'll never order it again. As far as flavor goes, the obligatory green horseradish concoction helped. A little. Pork bun was tasty, but it also fell apart, splitting at the back, exposing its rear like an outfit Prince would wear onstage. As crazy as it sounds, I'm gonna say the spicy edamame were the standout dish. But I couldn't finish the healthy portion, so I took it home. The prices are too high. I ended up paying $50 for the visit, while the rolls were bogo. Bogo deal and still $50! That's why I won't be back. Aside from the little missteps, it was still a positive outing, but the prices are a no-go. It's kind of upscale money when the borderline Five Guys interior doesn't justify it at all. 3.5 stars and rounding up because I'm nice. Best, A.

We stopped by on a Sunday morning and the place was buzzing--I'm guessing many diners were coming from church. Thankfully we made a reservation because every table seemed to fill up quickly. To kick things off, we each ordered a refreshing Lone Rider wheat beer along with two appetizers. The Shoestring Okra Fries were a fun twist on a Southern classic--crispy, lightly seasoned with chili citrus seasoning, and even better dipped in the tangy lime mayo. We also shared the Artichoke Dip, which arrived bubbling hot, creamy, and perfect for spreading on the toasted bread. For brunch, we went with two very different dishes, and both were excellent. The Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor from the goat cheese and pickled onions, while the buttery biscuit with jam on the side was a nice Southern touch. The Fried Green Tomato & Bacon Benedict was the standout of the meal. Crispy fried green tomatoes, perfectly poached eggs, smoky bacon, and rich hollandaise came together beautifully without feeling overly heavy. We couldn't leave without one more treat. The Strawberry Kiwi Margarita was bright, fruity, and balanced with just enough tequila and a zesty spiced citrus rim to keep it refreshing. To finish, we shared an Affogato, the perfect ending with creamy ice cream and a shot of hot espresso. If you're planning a Sunday brunch in Cary, make a reservation--you'll be glad you did. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

A nice perk of this spot is that it's just a stone's throw away from free and plentiful lot parking. I'd make a reservation if you plan to come here on a weekend for dinner. At the same time, it's not stuffy or overly fancy. The menu is comprehensive with Thai favorites like Pad Thai and Pad See Ew with a large number of Japanese and Sushi items on the back. My friends tried the Thai Spicy level and I will say it was pleasantly hot without burning your tongue off. I ordered the bento box and was really happy with the quality of the sashimi and nigiri. Everything was tasty, and the portions were more than satisfying. If I had to make a nit on something that I didn't love (it's hard!), I'd say that the rice texture wasn't my favorite. It was a little dry. But other than that, I would definitely consider it for another night out.

She was so kind and was the absolute best part of our visit. She gave a range recommendations, very professional, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal. We are coming from the Irvine, CA area so we VERY familiar with top tier Asian food and possibly that impacted our standards vs others in the review section. Now on to the rest, there were so many flies that I ended up having to smash them on the window with a napkin--just gross! Then, my son's food was not flavored well at all and had HAIR in his noodles! The Pad Thai was really bad! It was a lighter color first of all, so maybe they added an ingredient that isn't standard in traditional Pad Thai, but it did not make it better at all; I could barely stomach it. Then, there was a huge egg shell in the dish that somehow the cook let come out and served to us. The sweet and sour chicken portion was outrageously small for a dinner portion, and the dish was smothered with sauce but somehow the chicken was dry as if it was day old or several days old chicken. The cashew chicken, the same, dry chicken that was being covered up with the sauce and we had to chew a great deal. The sweet tea, it just tasted like they put a bunch of sugar packets in and was worse than a McDonald's sweet tea. Their white rice was not moist at all and we could've just done without it. Out of the sushi we ordered, the spicy tuna was good, but the rest was grocery store quality sushi and extremely small portion. In my opinion, people rave about this place because it is 'different' and plays into an upscale restaurant as you can see with their overpriced items. This place doesn't hold a candle to shopping center Thai fusion in California. I have lived in many states and am not a snotty Californian, but man oh man I can tell you this one is a fail. The only star for this visit goes to the waitress (she was a 5) but if I could give this a zero for the food, I would. Don't waste your time or money.
