Nearby sandwich counter shop, clean and bright inside, and with pleasant staff, and a bountiful array of chicken salad varieties. We opted for a Classic Carol on a croissant, that was a very good chicken salad; and the Cranberry Kelli on their signature wheat bread, that tasted exactly like the classic carol: good, but no tang or visible cranberries, and the barest visual hint of a thinly sliced almond. We both opted for the pasta salad side, which was visually appealing, yet remarkably bland... some dressing here would have helped. Worth the trip, but not as inspired as it might be. read more

I'm just gonna say it. I love Chicken Salad Chick! I would be a regular if there were one in south Durham where I live or even West Cary. I just don't get over to the area they're in much at all. They have a huge variety of chicken salad to choose from. My favorite is the lemon basil, but I have tried other selections they have too. There's a nice selection of sides too that are very tasty. One of the most unique things is their toasted bread. We all know when bread is toasted it has a roughness about it. Their's doesn't. It's smooth. I don't know how they get it that way, but I like it. It still is crunchy, but to the touch it's smooth. Their employees are always very nice and welcoming. They keep the line moving too when it's busy. The restaurant is always clean inside and is pleasantly designed. read more

I stopped in and headed straight to the grab-and-go fridge to grab my favorite, the Fancy Nancy. The restaurant was packed which is always a good sign that the food is worth it and every staff member I interacted with was pleasant and helpful. Even though I grabbed a ready-made container, they still made sure I had crackers to go with it. One thing I love about Chicken Salad Chick is the variety. There's a flavor for every mood: classic, savory, fruity, spicy, and everything in between. Whether you like something simple and traditional or you're into fun mixes with apples, pecans, pineapple, jalapeños, or ranch, they've got a style of chicken salad that fits your taste. Great service, great choices, and great food every time. I'll definitely be back! read more

Their chicken salad is always good. However there are some issues. The girl taking out order asked us 3 times if we were dining in or taking out. Not that big of a deal. She didn't understand the 'fundraiser' monthly deal A and seemed confused in general. My tomatoe was a tiny little piece of nothing . My husband remided me of the same issue we had months ago. When the young lady came over and asked us every if everything was okay, I showed her my sandwich and the the picture of previous visit also. She said the truck brought the wrong roma tomatoes. But my husband's tomato was normal portion. My pasta salad side was dry and tasteless. My husband's broccoli salad also dry . Their chicken salad is excellent but they need to work on portions and sides. read more

I finally got a chance to check out the chicken salad chick. The cafe is casual ans they have plenty of menus to peruse as you wait in line. I ordered 2 the chick meals and you pick from a scoop and a side or sandwich and side. I got the classic and Lauryn's lemon scoops and broccoli salad and chicken poblano soup. I like the Lauryn's lemon the best! The broccoli salad is also a great side. The staff was really friendly and fast. They have a health score of 100 too. If you have a go play save book, I recommend using a coupon. This is a casual chicken salad focused eatery and had lots of foot traffic! read more

Fresh delicious well priced amazingly cohesive brand. A really great brand story that feels very authentic and genuine. I guess the most important part would be the food. The food is just really fresh delicious very unique original offering and it comes with a cookie and pickle and that's really a wonderful bonus and it's hard to find a good pickle these days and the pickle was delicious. We will be back.! read more

The owner came to check on everyone throughout the entirety of our stay, he was so friendly and caring which was enough for us to come back. Everything was clean, including the bathroom, and while eating he offered us a sample of the broccoli salad which was absolutely incredible! Me and my boyfriend were genuinely shocked at how good some raw broccoli could be . The food itself was delicious and refreshing, I didn't have that drowsy feeling that I normally have after eating lots of food. Seating was comfortable and plentiful, both outdoor and indoor seating is available. We will definitely be coming back. Big thanks to Mike and the kind crew! read more

Always delicious! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and greet with a smile no matter how busy they are. Quick and affordable!

My husband and I visited Chicken Salad Chicken on Veteran's Day. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and as we got closer to the front we were greeted again. We was asked did we have any questions. The questions that we had were answered fully, which was greatly appreciated. Now on to the food. I got the Sassy Scotty on a croissant. I was amazing and very filling. There was so much flavor in the chicken salad and the portion size was just right. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit so that I can try other options. I had such an amazing experience at Chicken Salad Chick today that I felt the need to share it. My daughter and I stopped in for lunch, and my daughter had previously worked there. The franchise manager immediately recognized her -- not only by face, but by name as well. He asked how she had been doing and was genuinely excited to see her. As a parent, that absolutely blew me away. This is someone who has worked with countless teenagers over the years and has likely experienced plenty of turnover, yet he still remembered my daughter personally. That kind of leadership and genuine care for employees is rare these days. The manager was just as incredible. A while back, my daughter needed to step away from work for personal reasons, and I encouraged her to have that conversation with him herself. One of the values I try to instill in my kids is taking ownership and learning how to communicate directly and responsibly. When she spoke with him, he was kind, welcoming, and willing to truly listen. He made her feel comfortable, reassured her, and simply told her that whenever she was ready to come back, she only needed to let him know. Then today, when we walked in, he greeted her with the same kindness and excitement. He called her by name, asked how she was doing, and even asked if she was ready to come back to work. Moments like this say so much about a company's culture and leadership. Great food is one thing, but great people are what truly make a business stand out. In a world where many workplaces barely know their employees, it speaks volumes when leaders take the time to genuinely know and value their staff -- especially young employees just starting out in the workforce. Thank you for creating an environment that makes people feel seen, remembered, and appreciated. That leaves a lasting impression. Tara J read more

I love me some chicken salad chick and really wish one would open in Durham! I stopped here bc I wanted a casual low key dinner while house sitting near by. I'm so glad it wasn't busy when I got there bc the young man at the register seemed to be having a tough time getting the order entered for the woman he was helping. It took a bit longer than I expected for them to bring out my food, although there were not many people physically there eating I did notice a few to go orders so they may have been slammed with those. I placed my order a meal; a Nancy on a croissant and a side of grape salad. The sandwhich was good, but it's a rare occasion for me to get chicken salad and I probably could have done without the carbs of the croissant and really focused more on the chicken salad. The grape salad is one of my favorites! I am all about the pickle, it's always the last thing I eat. The best part of the whole visit of course is that little cookie with butter cream frosting-I took that with me and savored each bite as I sat in my car before leaving the parking lot. I've never had a bad experience at any chicken salad chick locations and look forward to future visits! read more

I didn't expect much from a place called Chicken Salad Chick, but their elevated chicken salads and excellent customer service provided me with a wonderful experience and inspiration for my own chicken salad mixtures. I dropped by recently to get takeout. It was a weekday lunch but there was a constant stream of customers. The interior decor reminded me a bit of a retirement community I used to volunteer at, but everything was neat and clean. I got the meal with a lemon basil croissant sandwich and a scoop of the classic chicken sandwich. My friend got the egg salad classic salad. She was torn on which dressing to choose, and the cashier was kind enough to give her both! (Both were tasty too!) The classic chicken salad was an example of simple done right. Perfect, spreadable texture and delicious savory flavor. The lemon basil chicken salad was so refreshing, prefect for a summer day! Paired with the complimentary pickle spear, each bite was a burst of fresh flavor. My only complaint was that the croissant was a bit stale, and not particularly buttery. My friend enjoyed her salad and the egg salad was tasty as well. The cookie that comes with each meal is a pre-packaged sugar cookie. This was definitely skippable for me, and I was amused by the frosting being firmer than the cookie. With low prices and generous portions, chicken salad chick is a great lunch spot. Looking forward to trying their other scoops and sides! read more

I'm not in this area much and was to get lunch at another business in Waverly Place today. But not having a good experience with their breakfast, I knew Chicken Salad Chick where I had an Elite event in the past would be a good choice. This visit I went with the prepackaged area. I couldn't decide what flavor to get so went with two, the Cranberry Kelli and the Fruity Fran. I couldn't have gone wrong with any of the flavors. I also got a grape salad. Harrison was so friendly and enthusiastic to make sure I had everything I needed from providing crackers for the salads to a topping for the grape salad. The customer service is really top notch here. read more

Great spot for something quick and clean eating! The food and creative options have always been excellent. Pricing is slightly higher but I believe the value is there. Every time I eat here it is like going to an aunt's house that makes good food. Everywhere you look there are people smiling and enjoying their food. The people at the counter are nice and it is always super clean. 100% would recommend to anyone and their aunt. read more

I checked out this place thanks to a yelp elite event. New restaurant with an overwhelming number of takes on the chicken salad, but! They allow you to have samples in case you're having difficulty deciding! The staff was very friendly and walked me through the menu. I ordered the buffalo Barclay on toasted wheat which had a slight kick but wasn't too spicy. Overall a solid 7/10 for chicken salad. My side was the Mac and cheese, which was in all honesty... Mac and cheese.... I was hoping for maybe a slight twist since the rest of the menu had so many options but if you're a fan of the no frills Mac and cheese, go for it! There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating had umbrellas to shield you from the NC sun. Lastly, they have a prepackaged Togo area where you can buy your favorite type of chicken salad. To me it seemed like a perfect lunch option to pair with my own crackers or sides! read more

This place is delicious! Very easy on the wallet too. I had the lauryns lemon basil chicken salad and broccoli salad for my side. I'm glad I was able to try out a new to me spot today. I ordered the Fancy Nancy chicken salad on toasted wheat berry bread, broccoli salad, and loaded potato soup (yum!). It came with a pickle spear and some crackers. Everything could have used a little more salt I thought. However, it was all very tasty and I'll go back to try some other menu items. There is plenty of seating inside and some outdoor patio tables and chairs. The weather was perfect tonight so I wished I'd had someone to eat outside with. The owner, John, came out and talked to me for a few minutes. He was very friendly and shared the background story of Chicken Salad Chick. It all began with a woman selling chicken salad out of her car who got turned in by someone and so she started her own business. Yelp totally gets me. I was so excited to have this as a Yelp Elite experience. I have been wanting to visit them since I heard their commercial. Thank you Yelp. I will definitely be back. The funny thing is what has me hooked is the Broccoli Salad. It was fresh. Usually restaurants let the ingredients sit until soggy and over saturated. The broccoli was crisp as the yummy bacon on top. The chicken salad was good and my sandwich was overstuffed just the way I like it with a pickle on the side. It reminded me of my grandma's chicken salad which she only made with leftover chicken. The best part was the mini buttercream cookie. I should have brought more cookies I had to share mine three ways. Lol read more

Have been so busy that I completely missed the Elite event. Went by to give them a try. Now, I have to preface this by saying that I'm very particular about my chicken salad and that I'm usually not a fan of it. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the trio to go. It came with 2 scoops plus a choice of a 3rd scoop , side or soup. I chose an additional scoop. The Lauryn's lemon basil had a great lemony basil flavor. Madame Curry was delicious and had golden raisins. Spicy pimento cheese was very good as well. The order came with a generous amount of crackers, a pickle & a buttercream cookie. The only think I wished was that it was a chunky chicken salad (my personal preference). This is a very cute place with a bright cheerful interior and cozy seating...perfect for lunch outings or a great place to meet up for a light meal. read more

First visit to this location. Beautiful interior, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean environment. Ordered Lauryn's Lemon Basil as a sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Such a fresh taste! The basil reminds me of summertime. The tomato and lettuce were amazingly fresh. Macaroni and cheese was my side of choice. However, it was disappointing. Seemed "old." The buttercream frosted cookie! Yum. A nice touch to end the meal. Beverages offered include Coke products, sweet and unsweetened iced tea, and watermelon iced tea. Bottled water as well. Several chicken salads from which to choose, traditional, savory, fruity, and nutty, or spicy. "The Chick" is their combo, including your choice of chicken salad. A beverage, side, and cookie. They also offer salads of mixed greens and soups that change daily. read more

This chick loves chicken salad and the name of this spot caught my eye and teased my taste buds. While shopping in Cary my coworker spotted the sign and wondered how the food was. I did my Yelp research and we decided on visiting during our lunch hour. I love an interesting meal ! I decided on the Fancy Nancy Chick Meal. My scoop had diced apples, pecans and seedless grapes. I chose a croissant and raw broccoli salad for my side. Counting calories ? Each meal is served with a tiny buttercream icing cookie ! Ladies. The broccoli salad is delicious! I hate cooked broccoli. When it's raw and tossed in vinegarette kale and broccoli really come alive. This was delicious! The salad had cheddar and bacon bits. I really love the portion control here. My coworker enjoyed the Sassy Scotty so much she ordered by the lb to go. Just a scoop is quite enough for anyone and you can eat carb free also if dieting. You also receive a lot of food for the value. Free cookie and Pickle Spear. For those of you who don't know, I love pickles ! Added bonus ! The decor is very chic and classy. You can tell when branding the owner worked really hard. I just can't wait to try the other recipes ! Chicks on a diet? They've got salads & scoops ! I am a HUGE fan of chicken salad. Been wanting to try this place out and today was the day. We weren't sure if they were open for dine in (they are) so my daughter did an online order and we picked it up. Online ordering was super easy. Pay online and they have a shelf with online orders with your name on the bag for pickup. I had the (Olivias) chicken salad on toast. It had tomato and lettuce and was delicious !!! For my side I chose a scoop of spicy pimento cheese. They included crackers too ! The pimento cheese was one of the best I have ever had. Just spicy enough. My daughter had the BLT with the bbq flavor chicken salad. She said she would try another flavor next time. We were surprised to find a little sugar cookie included for each meal. What a great touch !! We will definitely be back. Outdoor dining looked great. Indoor dining was also open and we wouldn't hesitate to give that a try too. read more

I attended the Grand Opening of Chicken Salad Chick in Cary. I was one of the first 100 (#21) who will receive a FREE Large Quick Chick (pound of chicken salad) every month for a year. I had seen some advertising on FB and wanted to check this place out. The Grand Opening was handled very well allowing people to line up outside and numbers were distributed at 7am. The staff was super friendly and handed out water to keep everyone hydrated. With our number, we were assigned a specific time to return to the restaurant to place our first order (avoiding huge lines and supporting social distancing). Upon return for my 10am "reservation", I was allowed to enter the restaurant; some employees were offering samples of Classic Carol and Sassy Scotty. I had been eyeing Sassy Scotty (blend of ranch, bacon and cheddar cheese) before arrival, but I actually preferred the Classic Carol (all white meat, celery, mayo and secret seasoning). When it was my turn (after getting suggestions from the staff), I sampled a few other options including Fancy Nancy (fuji apples, grapes and pecans), Barbie-Q (hickory smoked BBQ flavor) and Kickin' Kay Lynne (buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, cheddar, jalapeños & Sriracha). To my surprise (despite not being a jalapeño fan), I LOVED Kickin' Kay Lynne. After sampling that, the others were too bland. It wasn't spicy for me, and it had great flavor. For my first visit, I got a croissant sandwich with Fancy Nancy and a side scoop of Kickin' Kay Lynne. They included a small cookie as a treat. My next trip, I picked up my Large Quick Chick of Kickin' Kay Lynne; I did sample Olivia's Old South, but it appears Kickin' Kay Lynne is my favorite. I highly encourage anyone who is going to the restaurant to try it before you order. So GOOD! read more

This has become one of our favorite places to visit. I was introduced to this via an Elite event and have been back several times since. The staff is kind and awesome - always friendly! The location is well lit and clean. Everything is labeled properly and they do take COVID safety very seriously to protect the customers and the staff. Even when they are busy, they keep everything orderly - where with most places when it becomes busy - things start to get a little screwy. We have had the following: Olivia's Old South - 5/10 A southern tradition combining sweet pickles & egg Fancy Nancy - 4/10 Dress it up with Fuji apples, seedless grapes, & pecans. Buffalo Barclay - 10/10 Craving wings? This is definitely the choice for you. Pro-Tip: Heat it up for about 45 seconds...and thank me later. Kickin' Kay Lynne - 9/10 This flavor powerhouse is a combination of buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, jalapeños, & Sriracha! Curry Madame Curry - 10/10 Traditional curry flavor with sweet golden raisins. We find that we get the best value when we purchase the to-go containers of chicken salad. You pay about the same for a combo but for only the chicken salad that you can enjoy more than once! read more

First impression was the place is very clean. I was greeted soon as I got to the counter by the GM. Very nice man, patient and explained the difference of all the salads. There is a big variety of chicken salads with mixes you wouldn't think of! I chose Olivia's old south. It was fresh and tasty. Tasted homemade and seasoned just right. I went for a scoop which was a nice size serving. The presentation looked good, on a bed of lettuce with some buttery crackers that were yummy alone. The broccoli salad was a bit drier than I like but it tasted like it was just made, just enough crunch . There was plenty of bacon in there and also had carrots in it . The macaroni and cheese was creamy and light, not too heavy. There was some choices of fresh teas as well as sodas. I really liked how there was plenty choices of salads and sides to grab and go. The prices are good and well worth it. Nice quiet outside seating is available as well. It is a must try and a one of a kind place to try! read more

Neat concept and executed well in the decor. I had the buffalo flavored sandwich and my girlfriend had the fancy Nancy with egg salad. Probably an excellent one line to describe our experience "was good once I added salt" The food was bland - the buffalo didn't have a discernible buffalo chicken flavor. It has heat that snuck up on you but very bland. I had the loaded potato soup for a side and it was also bland. Understand neither of us add seasonings typically. We make an effort to try and capture the intention of the dish - I don't think that can be done by loading salt , pepper and other things. This is a chain and it's the only location I've been to so I can't tell you if this is this location or the chain's recipe's. My girlfriend has been to other locations and seems to this it's a chain thing. The prices are also expensive - we paid over twenty dollars for a sandwich and a scoop of salad for her. Staff was very nice and helpful , restaurant is super clean and well decorated. Seems kids would be fine. So, I think there are more tasty options to spend your money. read more
