This review is for the Publix located in the Chastain Square shopping center in North Buckhead. As far as Publix stores go, this one is pretty standard, which means good. In general, I'm a fan of Publix for their fresh produce, fresh-cut fruit bowls, deli subs ("Pub Subs"), and pharmacy. They offer a superior shopping experience and customer service compared to Kroger; the staff at Publix consistently seem better trained and more polite. I have the Publix and Publix Pharmacy apps and find them useful and convenient. It's great having all my receipts in one place within the main app. For prescriptions, being able to pay ahead in the Pharmacy app makes the pickup process faster. Our go-to Publix store was previously the Atlantic Station location, but since that store closed in December 2025, we switched to Whole Foods Midtown. Along with missing the pharmacy, it was our place to get Silk Almond Creamer; Whole Foods stopped carrying it. This Publix at Chastain Square feels a bit older, and both the layout and parking lot can feel dense and crowded. However, that's typical for an "in-the-city" Publix. read more

Wow what a crap Publix. I went in with a good mood and left questioning humanity. The customers and employees I encountered all just seemed like sh*t people. I walked in behind some girl with a half-eaten Publix deli sandwich in her hand. She looked upset. She took it to a guy who maybe was a manager? He rolled his eyes at her but acknowledged something and she went to the deli. I wanted to ask what happened, but he angrily ran off. Same guy/ manager, later is with an elderly female customer who was asking him something and I suppose he walked away. She goes "excuse me! I was talking to you!" I again pass by these two and she goes "you know you have an attitude" and he responds "you have a nice day, ma'am". Then as I'm checking out, customer in front of me shoves my things back on the conveyor belt and knocks my juice I'm about to purchase over. Doesn't apologize. Doesn't even acknowledge it. When the cashier comes to my things to check out, she knocks over the milk as well. I guess it's normal to just toss jugs/bottles of fluid around here like they will always hold up. This is an old and small Publix with mediocre customer service. The cashiers are not friendly, and will barely even utter a "hello" to the customers... definitely atypical from the usual Publix standard. Also they have no self-check out lanes and they usually only have a few non-express lanes open, so be prepared to wait to purchase. read more

This is an excellent grocery store. It's not the biggest, but the people that work in it are really friendly and helpful. The store is very clean, and it's got well-stocked. They do a good job opening Aisles when needed, so that you can quickly check out. Great neighborhood Publix super nice people. Not giant but good sized. The parking lot can be busy as the shopping mall is busy. As a proof statement to the nice people at Publix at this location, I once dropped a 12 pack of soda walking to my car (after turning down their offer to help me out with my groceries) and the sodas burst all over the place. One of the Publix people saw it happen and ran inside and got me another 12 pack. So nice. It was my fault and they still gave me another 12 without me even asking. They get my business!! read more

I've been coming to this Publix location once a week since I go to ballet class at the Atlanta Ballet in the same plaza. As a result, I've developed an affinity for this location, as well as a reignited love affair with Publix. Parking is meh here. There are way too many other shops in the plaza that makes this lot a bit congested. But close to closing time at Publix (which is when I'm usually here) there are plenty of spots near the store entrance. As always, shopping is a pleasure. Employees are very friendly and helpful, but stay out of my way if I look like I'm on a mission. I love to pick up some kombucha (usually there is a BOGO sale on a different brand every week) and some fresh fruit in the produce/juices section. I love Publix's BOGO deals! Sometimes I'm super tempted by their fried chicken, which you can easily buy without judgment (aka, without consulting an employee behind the counter). Pick up some sweet tea while you're at it. Next I usually pretend to be healthy and pick up some yogurt in the dairy section, but I'm really heading toward their refrigerated coffee/cold brew section so I can pick up whatever is on sale, thereby saving a few cents on what would have been spent a morning Starbucks Run the next day. Cashiers are friendly, although sometimes too talkative... I've definitely had some awkward encounters, although I'm sure their intentions were fine. They take my reusable Yelp grocery bags without comment (SAVE THE PLANET, USE YOUR YELP SCHWAG GROCERY BAGS). Publix is one of my top tier grocery stores at a better quality, price and value than anything out there. Now all they need is a membership card like Kroger and now Whole Foods (with Amazon) and they'll be set!!! read more

This is our neighborhood Publix and it is always a pleasant experience. I am always in and outta there every time and have a good experience, every time. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The cashiers are expedient. The store itself is clean and well maintained. Prices are about average. All in all, a good experience every time. Tip: the parking lot can be crowded on weekends so we avoid it and go during the week. read more

This... Publix... ROCKS! I called just after lunchtime to see about the made-to-order sushi. I was going to swing by after work but was worried there wouldn't be any sushi left! A really nice woman in the seafood department told me the 'sushi guy' would be back later and I should call to place an order. I called again a few hours later and a gentleman answered in the seafood department. I was bummed to learn the 'sushi guy' wasn't there and he didn't know if he would be back, boo! He took my order just in case and I said I would check in later on my way home. I got to the sushi area and only a few sushi rolls were left, I didn't see mine. I must have visibly looked disappointed because the seafood guy asked me if I was the one who called earlier. I jumped and said yes! Then 'sushi guy' had come! My order was taken! He pulled the rolls from a separate fridge and I was STOKED! He totally made my night. Thank you seafood man!! Took the sushi home, rice was a bit soggy, but happy I had my order, exactly what I asked for! read more

Super clean, courteous, helpful staff and gotta say I love the "buy one get one deals." Specialty items can be found here that Kroger just doesn't carry and never have to worry about the staff eating, drinking or talking on their phones while you are in line they are here for you. One of the staples in my pantry is "stock" and occasionally run out and almost always have a back up "Better Than Bullion" you will find on the shelf these stock pastes can be a lifesaver once opened just keep them in the fridge and use what you need when you need it. Love the Mardi Gras Wings every once in awhile and the Publix lobster bisque in the frozen aisle by the seafood is rich and yummy sometimes I add a touch of sherry before serving ! read more

This is a very nice Publix that's always stocked and kept in pristine condition. The deli is a great place to stop for lunch, they always have fresh sushi and the bourbon salmon is a must try. They have a very good wine selection and lots of champagne. You can get in and out fast because they keep a lot of check out lanes open. The only thing to be aware of is the parking lot is always packed so don't expect to park close. read more

Various areas throughout the establishment cater to each whim of the intrepid traveler: a deli counter that never runs out, a sushi counter where they will make whatever roll you desire.Thoughtful and gregarious shopkeeps who will help you find what you need, whether you know you need it or not. My professional opinion is that this is the best Publix on the planet and a necessary detour on any trip to Atlanta. Publix is a great grocery store, and this one happens to be super conveniently located on the way to my apartment from work. This makes it perfect for me to stop by if I want to grab a quick, non-fast food dinner on a work night, when I usually don't buy groceries. I like that there is always plenty of parking available, but they're diagonal lines and you can only park on the right side when you drive in so that cars that come in from the opposite side can park on the left side. Several times, there were parking spots close to the entrance to the store, but they were on the left side. So I had to park a little further on the right side. Boo. Since it's so convenient, I've been to this Publix at least once a week since I moved to my new apartment. On the night of the $550+ million jackpot lottery, I bought three Powerball tickets here right after work. Surprisingly, they weren't as crazy busy I thought they would be. Obviously, I didn't win, but it was fun trying. The food at the deli is yummy, and I like that they usually have specials for their chicken dinners. I like their fried chicken but the various rotisserie chickens are very good, too. The potato wedges are flavorful and best when hot. It would be nice if the Publix mac 'n cheese had more flavor, but that's just a minor complaint. And I know this is random, but I really appreciate that their plastic utensils are individually wrapped in plastic. Not only that, they're actually strong and the plastic knives cut pretty well. I love plastic utensils because I don't have to wash them. =) Last but not least, I love when Publix has cooking demos and serve samples of their latest recipes. Recently, they had this sample of a veal entree. They're always generous with the portion of the samples they offer. I had NEVER tried veal before, and I thought it was really tasty! Wish I had grabbed a recipe card, but I probably wouldn't have ever made it anyway. Almost every employee that I have spoken with here was extra kind and helpful. The one time I wasn't too happy was when the employee at the deli didn't know about their dinner special and tried to charge me the regular price. When I told her I wanted to talk to a manager, she got one of her co-workers to help her put the special price label on it. Then, she cracked a smile as she handed my food to me. Overall, this Publix gets 4.5 stars for its well-organized, clean store environment and friendly employees. This is my publix of choice. My usual options are this or Disco Kroger, and I'm picking this one every time. I feel like there is a mark-up on everything at Disco Kroger, but that's an aside. There is a huge amount of parking here. I've never had to drive around looking for a spot. The staff are the friendliest in town, and they have a great selection in every department. The produce section really shines here relative to the other Publix's around the area. The level of customer service just does not stop. I have had a few great experiences with the butchers here. They are always happy to break down packages or cut you new ones if you don't like the selection. They really put in the extra effort and it shows. read more

This is the Publix where I do most of my grocery shopping. It is clean, well organized and nicely run. Usually parking isn't too bad, except on weekend afternoons when it can get pretty crowded. Like all Publixes, I love that the "buy one get one" deals don't require you to buy two, which is good since it is just my wife and I. The bakery is good and usually has plenty of bread. Never had any problems with meat or seafood - usually very helpful. The lines are never long and they are quick to open up extra lanes if things start to back up. I had to ding them one star because I have had so many problems with the deli staff. One time we ordered a fried chicken and they didn't seem to know about our order when we arrived to pick it up (the manager did give us 50% off though which was nice). They also often seem clueless on how to make the special sub of the month. Otherwise this is a great Publix! read more

One of the older, more cramped Publix compared to the some of the newer, deluxe "A" stores. Just a bit down Roswell from the Fresh Market and are not trying to appeal to that market, despite the neighborhood. Someone who appreciates a more basic/conventional shopping experience than me might enjoy shopping here more than I would. I've shopped at this Publix for a few years since it is close to work. I'm only writing this review due to the policy of the pharmacy with regard to individuals without insurance and discounts. DO NOT TRUST PHARMACY PRICES! Never had an issue when I had insurance. Prices are fine, they are helpful, etc. Paying cash? Do not bother. When I had a generic brand of a pill filled with insurance, they told me that the price without insurance was nominally more (I made them look it up). When they filled the same prescription many months later, the price was an additional $130 without insurance. I asked them to double check, and they insisted it was correct. I went to the app, Good RX, on my phone, and they offer discounts for cash payers lowering th e price from $150+ to $20. The pharmacist tried to tell me that the discounts on that app are misleading, and wouldn't work. This is when I became upset. I use the app for other meds. It works 100% of the time without question. When I told her that, she stopped saying anything about it. Unbelievable. This pharmacy will try to rip you off. Do NOT get your prescriptions filled here... not ever. They will lie to get you to pay more. read more

Publix is where I do most of my grocery shopping. This one is on par with all the other Publix's. Or what's the plural of Publix? Is it Publix', is it Publixes? Maybe it's Publii. Who knows? Anyway, the parking lot here is an obstacle course of bad drivers and even worse pedestrians. It's always busy, so good luck finding a decent spot less than 100 yards from the storefront. Great store in a terrific plaza (including my favorite manicure / pedicure spot, Hammond Nails). This location even has a SunTrust open on Saturdays until 6 pm! The only drawback to this otherwise outstanding Publix is the impossibly busy parking lot with one way rows of angled slots that many drive down in the reverse way to snag a tough to find spot! Service and quality are top notch once you finally make your way inside, and the cleanliness and variety of fresh produce, meat and seafood is great. Worth a stop if you're driving by on this outer Buckhead stretch of Roswell Rd, but not a destination Publix like the one at Town Brookhaven. read more
