I think I have to give this Publix five stars for the service alone. In the meat/deli area, an employee approached me and asked me if I needed help finding anything. I've been a regular at Publix in metro Atlanta for decades (Atlantic Station location, mainly) and that never happens to me. I told him that this Publix's layout is flipped from what I'm used to. He smiled and said he gets that a lot. I did get turned around at first, but I was able to easily find everything I was looking for, except for the Red Baron Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza singles (2-packs) which this location and my go-to location were out of at the time. I've also liked to buy them in bulk (12-packs) at Costco. That guy and the two ladies at checkout were very friendly. There were also a couple employees in the produce section that were joking around with each other. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood. This was on a random Tuesday night around 8:30-8:45. Did they all just find out they got unexpected bonuses or something? I had a conversation with the cashiers about the restaurant I'd just eaten at, Kyuramen, in the same shopping center. I brought my leftovers in and had them with me while I shopped. My cashier, Jill, noticed and went out of her way to bag my leftovers for me. How nice of her. This Publix is located in Abernathy Square, the large shopping center at the big intersection of Roswell and Abernathy Roads in Sandy Springs, North Fulton. The reason I came to this location is because it was convenient for me to grab groceries right after dinner. This shopping center was busy, especially when I arrived around 6:30pm, but there was plenty of parking. I ended up settling for a 2-pack of Red Baron Deep Dish Four Cheese Pizza ($4.59) and got a few things I routinely buy at Publix: a large fruit salad ($16.08), Silk Almond Creamer Sweet & Creamy flavor ($5.59), and two cans of Starbucks Premium Instant coffee Medium Roast ($10.79 each). The selection of Starbucks products at this location was better than my normal Publix in Atlantic Station, but I'm pretty sure this Publix is bigger. My wife and I are generally fans of Publix and prefer it over competitors like Kroger and Harris Teeter simply because of Publix's fresher produce and generally higher-quality selection. I also like that you don't have to deal with a membership at Publix because everyone gets the same "automatic" discounts. Publix did launch a membership program, Club Publix, in 2020, but I think its main benefit is digital coupons -- it's not for automatic discounts at the register like Kroger Plus and Harris Teeter VIP, where you have to scan a membership code or enter your phone number. Like the Publix I frequent in Atlantic Station, this Publix also had a police officer stationed inside the front. This one was a Fulton County officer. This location opened in May 1994. read more

I typically go late at night to avoid some of the crowds but tonight it took me 15 minutes just to check out. One of the items that the people in front of me wanted to buy did not have a tag - so it took four people two different trips back to produce and a manager to finally type in the $4.99 amount. They offered to open another register, but all of my items are already on the belt. Unfortunately, I could not do self checkout because I had several gift cards to buy. I had to justify my purchase to the manager and explain why I was spending $300. He said they want to make sure no one's being taken advantage of (good intention) but how is the Publix manager going to resolve that if that was the case ...LOL. Then one of the gift cards didn't work and they had to match all the gift cards back to their codes to figure out which one wasn't working and then refund and re-ring the missing card. It was an embarrassing long process, and the clerk was new and completely clueless so the manger had to come back and help her again. I usually avoid the registers (I'm the jerk with a full cart at the self checkout) because they either bag my groceries poorly and I end up with damaged items or products scan in at the wrong price. Sadly, I end up at the service desk about half the time for rain checks of BOGO items that are not in stock or on the shelves yet. This is one of the most expensive stores in the area but continues to fail and under deliver. I've started going to Whole Foods, Amazon delivery, and/or another Publix instead. read more

Coming in for a quick question for the Deli department about cartering. All the women at the deli department where amazing. When I say it was just a delight to come across a bunch of cheerful smile and laughs, all while working. It was a joy to see. Mrs. Gloria, Mrs. Tina and the other women, I can't name them all because they didn't have their name tags visible. And don't let me leave out the gentleman I saw. Mr. Quartez was so gentle and professional with every customer. I visited at 1:30pm. So...whoever was scheduled at that time, those are the women I saw. I'll preface this review with this is not my "usual" Publix. Cruised in needing a few staple items on a Wednesday (milk/bread- stuff for spaghetti). Overall this store is a bit smaller than others in the area, so isles are a bit more congested. I fortunately was there when the world wasn't; but still was close to other people's carts. Also note this Publix is laid out backwards (produce on left as you enter). My store it's on the right. All in all decent place (aside from some negative reviews here). Publix used to be one of my favorite stores until today where the manager of the 6615 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 location where the store manager Steve approached to me in an unprofessional way to let me know my dog was not allowed in the store. I mentioned it was a certified service dog and even offered the dogs credential but Steve still asked about the dog training and why I used it which I is the first time I have to give explanation to someone about my wife medical condition and because that was not enough the manager still asked me where my wife was (completely unnecessary) which my wife was next to me and when I point at her standing 2 feet away from me the manager made a gesture of disapproval with his face followed by a comment saying my wife looked too young for me. Definitely the worst experience of my life. It is the first time I get this humiliated and disrespected in my entire life. read more

This Publix has been here for at least two decades that I can remember and I must say they have kept up with the times. It's located in a very busy intersection of Roswell Road and Abernathy in Sandy Springs. The shopping center is called Abernathy Square. There are at least 25 businesses in this shopping center. They include the following: Ippolito's Neighborhood Italian Poke bar Jet's pizza Yogli Mogli's Fozen yoguart Starbucks Jamba Juice Gyro & Teriyaki I've been to this Publix at least dozen times or more. Never had a problem. This store like all the Publix in the metro area is extremely clean, well stocked and filled with friendly people. I go here because it's convenient and the fruit is better than at the Kroger right down the road. These cashiers are the worst part of my shopping experience. One time a young male cashier intentionally ignored me, when I asked if they were open, because their light was on. They said no. Not even 1 minute later, they started checking out other customers. Another time I waited for 15 minutes in the check-out line, because the customer in front of me was trying to pay by check. The cashier was making their trainee type all the codes or whatever necessary into the computer. Once I found a massive wad of chewed gum in one of my Publix grocery bags. Finally, there is one cashier who seems nice enough, but is super awkward and chatty to the point where I look to see who the cashier is before I join a line. read more

I really like this store. Being European I love their international selections. The yoghurts, and my all time addiction, the French Presidente butter, it's hard to get that butter anywhere. Also they have lots of organic stuff. I love the staff, they are always ready for a effortless chat. Really lovely people. The employees are always in horrible moods and make me feel like I'm pissing them off when I ask for a couple slices of meat in the deli. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this and I don't know why I put up with it but they are doing something unacceptable with their hamburger meat. I always buy the 93% lean / 7% fat and in the past when you cook that meat there is relatively nothing in the pan other than the meat. For months now I see all kinds of liquid in the pan so there is additional fat and/or water being added in order to increase the weight. More to come! read more

Beware! This is the store I go to for my everyday needs. They sold me rotten meat. I bought meat from them. Even checked the date on the package and everything was fine until I took it home and opened it within an hour of purchase. Its rotten, and we could smell disgusting rotten meat. We threw it away. I informed the matter to Jason the manager at the store. He wasnt even apologetic. He looked elsewhere while talking. His response to the issue was if I had the package so he could refund the money I paid for it. He said "The package might had a hole so there is a chance that it got spoilt." I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. The level of ignorance on safety of food is just unacceptable. I didnt even ask for credit, refund or any compensation for this. I just wanted them to take the responsibility, and ensure that the safety measures are taken so I can have some sort of assurance that they will take this matter seriously. I didnt get any of that. What a produce section! And the breads -- I stood there looking at the breads and rolls for, no kidding, 15 minutes. The restaurant has a sushi section with a nice assortment of rolls, seaweed salad and nigiri offering. The wine selection is quite nice, with a decent assortment of offerings from the West Coast. Be careful of their party tray prices! I ordered the fresh fruit tray to feed 12-15 people. The pamphlet I was shown stated $22.99 but when I picked it up I was charged $27.81. It was an hour before the party started and I was panicked. I didn't have time to order again let alone buy more fruit. I asked the lady at the deli why there was a price difference and all she did was stare at me. I asked her if could return the tray and she said all party trays were non-refundable. What a rip off. I am writing this as a positive review to counter a negative one I wrote about one of their competitors. I was in the store and the lines were backed up and they started jumping through some hoops to get more lanes open and sent me to the front desk to check out because I just had a few items. It means a lot that they pay attention. Conversely yesterday while at one of their competitors with the lanes backed up, after sitting in line for 5 minutes, the cashier told me her lane was closed. I just left my basket, drove to Publix, and bought my stuff there. I tend to go back and forth between different places but the attention to customer service will drive my loyalty to just one. read more

Again, I love Publix, but this one leaves a LOT to be desired. What's worse? This is the closest one too me and often, I'm stuck going here because it is on my way home, or I am short on an ingredient or short on time... and I find myself uttering the words "I hate this store." The people are rude, the store is either out of things or the stock is pushed all the way to the back and I cannot reach (and I'm not very short), or they are not well staffed to deal with the number of people in the store. Gone are the days of good Customer Service, apparently. This is one of the smaller stores, so I expect them to not have certain things. But moldy onions, ummm no. Leaky packages of meats, no thanks. Obnoxious and unhelpful bakery workers, really? I have even called to complain to the Manager, and while he seems like he cares, nothing ever changes. The funniest is each time you go to check out (this is true at all of their stores), the first question is "did you find everything ok?" I have said "no" repeatedly here. The response I get at this store? "Oh, ok." (If anything at all.) By the way, other stores they take down the item I am looking for and see about stocking it for me. So, basically, if you can, go to just about ANY other Publix if you want to have a good shopping experience. Go here only in a pinch. read more

There's not really much to love about this Publix. The parking lot has an odd layout and is hard to navigate, the store is equally confusing, and aside from the deli there's nothing special (read as commendable). I've been here a few times since it is next to one of the only WaMu locations in Sandy Springs and it's really just a run-of-the-mill grocery store. For as much traffic as I assume it gets (I'm making this assumption based on the fact that it's located on Roswell Road near lots of homes that don't otherwise have a nearby grocer) they keep it pretty well stocked and clean. They appear to be suffering from the lack of quality employees available to hire as my cashier wasn't very patient with me or the customer in front of me. In hindsight I probably wouldn't be very patient either, especially if my wig was crooked and I wanted to get through my line of customers so I could leave to adjust it. read more

Lousy customer service. I've come here for years for convenience and the CUSTOMER SERVICE....Today, I came in for a few items, although I'm a regular customer, (coming in on average, every 2-3 days for the past 5 year, loyally). I say hi to all the regular employees. I thought I was considered a good customer. Well they proved to me they care nothing about their customers today. Buying an item that wouldn't scan at the register. The cashier asked me if I knew the price, I wasn't sure and didn't want to cheat the company so I told her I wasn't sure and did she want me to go check, she called for help as I stepped aside and waited patiently as she continued to ring up customers after customer. I said again, I can go check. She said ok. I went back and saw several sale signs about the product and came back and said $4.49 per pack. Once I got back to the cashier, an employee finally came up and she asked the co-worker to now go check the price, employee comes back and says $6.89. Oh I thought it was on sale, i said. I saw several sale signs. She said no. So we walked back together. There was 3 separate prices for this and similar items. Apparently the employee also choose the wrong item and misquoted the price. It was actually 5.23. It was apparently not a sale item either but misleading sale signs everywhere for the exact same brand. Rather then apologize or offer me the sale price she offered the original, same price listed anyway of $5.23 as if she was doing me a favor??? even though she misquoted the largest price. I'm thinking where's the customer service, where's the I'm sorry I made a mistake?? So I said never mind. She said fine and walked the other direction. I Went to the front and thought wow, that was rude. I asked to speak to the manger to tell him what happened. She walks up and now we are debating about what happened in front of the manger, Richard. He just looked at me with a blank look on his face, like what do you want? I finally asked him, since there's sale signs all over the area AND I was misquoted can I have the sale price? He says oh............ok. Then I have to walk back a third time to show him all the sale signs and the wrong item she was charging me for. I never felt so insignificant, so disrespected as a customer. Never again. You lost a loyal customer over $1.45 cents. I'll drive 2 blocks to Kroger, spend less money and get much better customer service. I wish I could get back all the countless thousands of dollars I've spent at this location and spent it at Kroger, I would have also saved thousands dollars over the years. read more

So all the recent Key Lime Pie commercials on the radio got me. I have to say, the bakery does deliver - it's a damn good pie, and they've got it pretty much every day. This Publix location is smaller than some of the other locations, but it's convenient (close to 285 and 400) and there is always parking available in the lot. All in all it's a supermarket. The location near the Prado is bigger but you'd have to brave Roswell traffic south to get to it. read more

The bakery at this Publix is outstanding. We've gotten kids birthday cakes from here for years. This time I didn't want one of their standard decorations. I asked for something that looked like space to match toppers I found on Etsy. With little direction, they created the perfect cake. It tasted great too. read more

I went to the doctor this morning at 8:00 am. They called in a prescription for me before 9:00. It is now 12:00 and I still don't have the prescription. When I asked the lady in the desk why it wasn't ready her response was- "look- we come into like 50 prescriptions every morning. Have a seat." All I can say is, um ok. We just moved here from Texas. We heard publix was such an awesome grocery chain. This is the second location we have visited in north Atlanta, both were terrible. Worst selection of basic things like vegetables, fruit, etc. They also don't carry basic Italian dish items like sun dried tomatoes, etc. I don't get it. The super target in Sandy Springs had more selection and better looking produce at a better price. That is sad considering Target is not known for grocery quality. We will be going to Whole Foods until we can find a decent alternative. Maybe grocery stores in Atlanta, GA are not as good as they were in Dallas, TX? read more

I like the smaller version of this Publix store, and the convenient location. I was disappointed, however, to note that the recent mandate for face masks is not being monitored. I also noted that the cart handles are not bring sanitized as they are in the Woodlawn location. These measures are important! An employee should be posted at the entrance and all customers should be required to wear a mask. Sanitized carts should be separated from any that are not. read more

As the other reviewers have stated, this is just a regular Publix, perhaps a bit smaller than some. It's fairly clean, and is located in a small area with a lot of other restaurants and other stores. I would say that is the reason I'm giving it an extra star-- the fact that it is a good location. Generally, a Publix store has way better produce and fresh baked goods than any other stores, which is why I like going to them for those reasons. This review is for the deli only. Great food, but the worst service that I have seen in a long time. The deli staff purposely move as slow as possible. I have spoken to the managers on several occasions, all the checkers know the deli is a huge problem, management seems unconcerned. When I lived in Orlando - LOVED Publix - was excited to move back South and be able to shop there again. This location was exactly like the ones I remembered in Florida.....only trouble: I moved out of Florida in 2005....this store doesn't look like it's been updated since then - and in the past 10 years, grocery stores have improved and evolved - this one doesn't seem like it did. After giving it a couple tries, if we're not at Fresh Market, we shop the Kroger on Sandy Springs Blvd. its a brighter, better store with more variety - and we don't have to fight Roswell Rd. to get in and out of it.... read more

It's a publix so the you are going to pay more than you would at Kroger but not your whole paycheck like whole foods. Tho locations is good avoid during rush hour since it is located in between two major north Atlanta roads. Nice store and the staff I very friendly. And their bakery is just awesome! read more

This is my go to Publix!! I go to this Publix at least 3 or 4 times a week (usually to the deli for lunch during work). But no matter what the reason is I am going to Publix for I am always greeted with a smile by everyone. If I cant find something I am looking for and I will be brought right too the item. Everyone working at the deli remembers every time what I am going to get and it makes me feel so welcome. One day I was checking out at the customer service desk because I only has 2 things to buy and all the lines were over crowded and I accidentally knocked over the floor cleaner that I was buying and it went all over the floor behind the counter. I honestly felt so incredibly bad about that but the nice lady made me feel so much better by saying "hey at least its floor cleaner" . I love this Publix and it has some wonderful people working it. The people working the bagging station are also always ready to help you at anytime and just love to talk with you! This is a place where you can make some good friends! read more
