This location was closed for several weeks and reopened in May. The store now resembles the Buckhead location and is spacious with wider aisles and more room to walk. The store sells some name brand items but mostly Aldi brand and generic brand. Many of the items are cheaper than other area grocery stores and big box stores. The staff is always helpful but they never have enough cashiers at checkout. There are no bags given at Aldi. You have to bag your groceries and bring your own reusable bags. If you want a cart, you pay a quarter and receive the quarter back once the cart is returned. Aldi stores are not open as long as other grocery stores in the area so I always have to make sure I visit this location early since it does get crowded.

Bottega Italian Market & Pizza - Meatball sandwich and caprese salad

    Bottega Italian Market & Pizza

Amazing! I was excited to try after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. The Paradiso was…read moreperfect and very similar to the focaccia sandwich I had it Italy. We also tried the Capri which was also very good. Plus, all the cookies and snacks and pastas to buy!! Yum. I got some biscotti and cookies to bring home. Highly recommend!

I've had this place on my list for Pizza but instead got sandwiches. I wasn't really feeling pizza…read moretoday and they feature three options which are kind of like thick focaccia bread with toppings on top. Maybe next time, and maybe a whole pie instead, as I'm not typically a fan of pizza that stays out on the counter for a bit. That's just me, I bet this is usual, so no points off to them for this. I decided to grab The Marino from their menu. I really enjoyed the meatballs. They were super flavorful, a lot better than most places. The bread they used seemed to have been more on the Ciabatta side. The texture of the bread was soft and not hard to bite into. The sauce was not doused on this, which was great for me, so I didn't get any in my beard. It said panini, but I didn't sense the bread was pressed at all. Maybe there is something different about this in Italy that I'm not aware of? The sandwich was great overall, I wish it was larger or had an option to be larger. At $9.99, I really can't complain. Coulda just gotten two. Maybe next time! :D The shop is really cool and carries a lot of Italian/EU imports. I was able to find a jar of Nutella that is imported, which if you know, imported Nutella taste different than US Nutella and comes in a glass jar instead of plastic and taste creamier. They also had lots of pastas, sauces and candies. Some Easter stuff leftover as well at the time of this post. EU easter candy is better than American easter candy. :D When you walk in, the line sort of leads to the back and you make your way up to the front. In the glass, there are various burrata's available for around $8 each. Good for making your own pizza or perhaps an Italian dish. I didn't pay attention to what milk was used, but this is Georgia, so you make do. The drinks are all canned or bottled. They had some imported sparkling waters. You can tell by the fact that the caps don't twist off and are attached to the bottle intentionally because the EU requires this to avoid pollution by people leaving bottle caps all over the place. The young lady at the counter super knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. She was very sweet and good to talk to. I came after a lunch rush, so she asked me to pick a seat and let her know so she can clean it up. Very much appreciated that. Place is a little small and not a lot of seats. If you happen to come during lunch hour, be prepared to get the order to go and sit outside or across in the park center of the square. It's very well maintained from the looks of it and would be a great picnic area. Overall, I enjoyed this location very much. I would definitely come again to try some of their other offerings.

This is a monthly Thursday FM at the Battery Plaza Green. It's relatively new since last year and…read morethe 2019 season opened last Wednesday, March 20th. It's held on the last Thursday of the month except those conflicting with the Braves' home games. They reschedule those and next few months are posted already so check their website before attending. +. Ambiance is structured FM that is trying to get going. They had a guitarist on the stage with pleasant tunes. It is family friendly with a small pen of farm animals...no petting just viewing. +. When I visited there were 11 tents but was told the number of vendors vary each month...most they've had were 18 stalls. Most vendors were start-ups I hadn't seen at other local FMs. I'd say about 90% merchants and 10% producers from local Atlanta metro....raw unfiltered honey, popsicles, raw dried fruits, natural bug sprays & handmade soaps, small batch granolas, snack bars and seasoned nuts, breads and cookies, smoked fish and one vegetable tent. Though it's common in other states, it was my first time seeing a fish smoker at Atlanta FM. The providers I liked were...David's Garden for all things honey, natural granola bar maker and Raw Dried Fruits. David's Garden keeps bees far from the cities in the Southern states to get the least polluted honey and bee pollens and they do not cook or filter their honeys. The granola man whose name I can't recall....had pretty healthy and tasty snacks and habanera cashews great for discerning nibblers. RDF...I love that they do NOT add any sugar or preservatives to their dried fruits! + Prices are varied...reasonable to high depending on the vendor. I bought a small jar of honey from David's Garden for $22 which I thought was high. But the raw dried fruits were $5 for a small pouch and honestly it was super reasonable for the amount of labor...awesome to find no added sugar dried fruits! Cash and cards. +. Service was good. Most sellers here were the makers or owners so I appreciated their knowledge and passion! The produce stall though was not...they are a charitable organization trying to raise $ for food for those in need. +. Parking is free for 4 hours in the Purple, Green or Red Decks. So happy there's another FM nearby :-) It's a good place to walk around, snack and buy few LOCAL goodies!
