I took off one star only because I was a little confused about what was going on with the café--there weren't any obvious signs, and at lunchtime there was no one behind the counter. It smelled wonderful, so I wasn't sure if I had just missed something. They do offer help-yourself ionized (or possibly alkaline) water--I'm not entirely sure which, as that wasn't clearly explained. I believe it was ionized because I had a headache for the first few days of drinking it, which can be a common side effect when starting ionized water. There was only one person working at the time, and she seemed a bit short with me, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I'd still like to go back and give it another try. read more

I've come in here a couple times for supplements and vitamins. They have a huge selection of vitamins and supplements and even carry the Ultimate Spike Detox to help get rid of those Covid proteins running rampant in our bodies. I haven't tried the foot detox yet but I plan on doing so next time. Try out the power shot, it's about $6 bucks but it's better than a double B12 injection and a lot healthier. Every time I have one of the power shots I feel great for several days afterward. The also have a large selection of organic food and drinks and spices and all kinds of goodies. They have a huge selection of vitamins and health aids, tons of health centric grocery items and most of the products I spotted were organic, vegan, and/or non-gmo so you can feel good about what you're buying. When you walk in you'll notice it's not the modern shopping experience. There's no greeter, no high beam lighting, snazzy signage or high tech cash register. This is a mom and pop shop by definition, but their selection is robust AF. From frozen cauliflower crust pizza to a bottle of vitamin C capsules, your healthy journey is heading in the right direction if your path leads you here. As other reviews have mentioned, they have a clutch cafe in the store. It's nice to have a healthier option when looking for lunch around here! I personally enjoy the smoothies. They sell groceries, pills, vitamins, powders, oils (including snake), tinctures, elixirs, and anything else you can think of that is related to health. They even have their own water fountain to get your own purified, alkaline water. What's also interesting is that they seem to be a Christian company. They have Christian stuff all over their walls. You would think a place like this would be super-pagan, Earth goddess worshipping heathens. Nah, it's pretty churchy. Speaking of churchy, the people who work there are super nice. They are one of the nicest staff I've interacted with at any grocery store. Inside, they serve food. They have a Salad Bar, a Hot Bar, and a kitchen where you can order sandwiches or smoothies. As you'd expect, their food is supposed to be natural, healthy, organic, and other adjectives that makes you feel good inside. Their Food Court is totally legit. This was the best health-food I ever had. I tried their hot bar. They usually have 3 meats and about 6 vegetables you can choose from. I got 1 meat with 3 veggies. Man the lady must have liked me or something because she piled on the food! She gave me healthy scoops of the vegetables. The meat I got was Korean Spiced Chicken. The 3 veggies I got were Japchae, Curried Vegetables, and Tempe. They were all delicious. The Japchae was authentic and good. The Curried Vegetables had great flavor. And the Tempe had great texture and flavor. The chicken seemed like all white chicken that was juicy. And the spices gave it a nice flavor. What's up with the Korean food? They even have bulgogi on the menu. Well, the chef there is Ms. Su. She is Korean and she brings some authentic Korean recipes. So you can get some decent Korean food. That is pretty cool. You pay after you eat. It looks like it's on the honor system. They don't give you a ticket or anything. You just walk up to the cashier and tell them what you ate. The reviews were right the burger was really good although I thought it was a little pricey at $9.99 for the sandwich only. The fries were also really good & didn't look like the traditional sweet potato fries, but they had a nice sweetness to them. A few moments later, my order came out. Look at how big my veggie burger is. Drinks are around in the corner along with silverware and napkins. OMFG. One bite and I could taste the yumminess and freshness. The veggie burger is flavorful. I feel the spices were right. I feel the veggie burger is made with black beans. I prefer that to soy burgers. I like that even after several minutes The veggie burger was still hot in temperature. Sometimes when I order veggie burgers at other places, the veggie burger gets cold after a few minutes. Not at Goodness Grocery! The Korean sweet potatoes fries were grilled to perfection! I usually peel the skin when I make at home but the skin actually taste really good, it's crispy and complements the veggie burger and gives you that "fries" taste. Yum yum yum! This is my newest discovery for healthy lunch options near the office. Organic produce/goods and a hot bar/salad bar make for a perfect one stop shop during your lunch break or quick pick me up after work. Goodness grocery is a bit hard to find as it is tucked away in a mixed-use commercial space and apartment complex. Ambiance: Smaller than Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, but you can feel the neighborly homey-ness. The owner and workers are quick to greet you as you enter and ensure that you receive assistance. A simple chalkboard serves as a menu for the smoothies and hot bar and there is a seating area for you to enjoy your meal. Food: Ultimate favorite is the salmon BLT hands down. They use a light Cajun sauce and the salmon is a sizeable portion for only ~8$. The bun that they serve this sandwich on is whole wheat rather than plain white. I felt great about every ingredient they put on this delectable sammy. For your side, definitely order the sweet potato fries. I tend to shy away from fries since they usually are served sopping in grease, but these fries were barely fried, if at all. The kitchen uses korean sweet potatoes, which I personally prefer to the American variety. The wedges were cut thick, and the flavor was the right amount of sweet. I have also tried the turkey burger which is served similarly on a whole wheat bun. The sauce used for this burger is tomato-based. It was very good as well, but salmon BLT still ranks #1 in my books. Service: Both times I have been here, service has gone above and beyond my expectations. This place reminds me of a mini WF or TJ's. Less distractions and more "small town" kind of feeling. It's great! Parking - They do have several spots, but Goodness Grocery shares the entire lot with like 8+ other shops. Lunch time may be rough. I personally come before or after a lunch rush, so I find spots easily. This entire shopping/eating area is really popular apparently. Inside - Just like a mini WF/TJ's; super cute place. They also have a big seating area for folks who want to eat in. If I lived nearby, I'd totally shop here for most of stuff. People are extremely nice. I've seen the owners + their kids running around. The kids are well behaved :D None of the 'kids are crazy' shenanigans. I think they even help around with getting food to customers. Adorable. Food: Their salad bar looks AMAZING. If you're a major salad lover, come here. They've got so many items and they all look fresh. Honestly, the salad bar looks better than WF/TJ's. Products seem really interesting. Were nice when I called but the vibe was strange when I got there. They seemed used to a certain "type" of customer that I didn't fit. I was asked if I lived in the area and then the lady started to talk to me about why I needed to believe in Jesus. I understand spreading a good message but did not feel that was the way to do it and no longer felt welcome and left the store. She may have meant well but as I said it left me uncomfortable and I felt unwelcome. Don't preach to your customers and be accepting of all. That's how true believers should behave. Good luck. I used to frequent this grocery store when they first opened since i lived right around the corner. The area has since been expanded, and there are dozens of shops, restaurants and other business in the area. This is still a solid spot for natural/organic groceries in the west village. The prices for vitamins and supplements are lower than you'd find at whole foods, but pricier than your average drugstore. I'm giving it three stars because today i noticed some produce items that were 3 days past the "sell by" date, and it was still on display for sale, at regular price. Also, i was chastized for opening/smelling the natural deodorants. I'm not sure how many people buy scented items without smelling them, but they don't even have testers available for customers, so i guess you have to buy your deodorant blindly from here, and then just hope you like the way it smells? This store is right around the corner from my house. It is a convenient store for when I need a quick health food store type of item, but don't feel like making the trip all the way to Harry's in Marietta or the Whole Foods stores in Buckhead or Sandy Springs. The selection of shelf stable items is very good. They also have a deli area that makes sandwiches, wheat grass juice shots, etc. I typically go there for vitamin supplements or a quick pinch item I need that I can't get at the Kroger down the street. However, I will say that there is almost no fresh produce offered at this store. There is handful of fresh food items in the back, but it is a small selection. I imagine it is too expensive for the owners to stock too many perishable items while the store is still getting off the ground, as the demand probably isn't there. The checkout staff seems mostly Asian and all are friendly. The only negative experience I have had here is an inventory lady who was basically following me down the skincare aisle as I was trying different skin creams. You'd think she would give me some personal space, but she was totally hovering next to me and inchin g after me down the aisle. She finally noticed my tension and said, "Oh don't worry. I'm not following you." But um hello, yes she was. I actually ended up not buying anything in that aisle because I didn't feel like I had the privacy to enjoy my shopping experience. Bad form on her part, but since I've only seen that woman there once ever, I don't think it's a pervasive issue. Overall, I would recommend supporting this independent health food store. This place is a beacon of light to the community. I went into the store for the first time just over a year ago, and I was greeted by Su, the owner, who was eager to help with my health challenges. There are many different health food stores & vitamin shops around town, but I have never met anyone in this business as compassionate as Su. If your doctor has tried everything, and you still don't feel better, make a trip up there and talk to Su. She has over 30 years of experience in herbal medicines & natural remedies. The Soup Garden used to be located off of Cobb Parkway and I used to eat there for lunch all the time. I followed them here because they really do have the best soup. They have 4-6 soups at a time. When I have time, I love to take advantage of their unlimited soup buffet for lunch. Their cafe also have salads and other food but I've only had their soup. Today, I had to choose one soup because I was picking some up to go so I stuck with chicken noodle. It was so delicious that I wish I got the large size instead of the medium. Even the pieces of chicken in the soup was good. I find that sometimes the chicken isn't very tender in these types of soups but theirs was perfect. After visiting Goodness Grocery, my first impression was not the best. The issue that gives this place two stars is EXPIRED PRODUCTS on the shelves...and not just one product. The granola and almond milk yogurt I purchased were all expired when I got home. They were a few days past the expiration date. This was disappointing and unacceptable. Also, the prices are pretty high to be a small neighborhood establishment. Some of the products cost the same or more than Whole Foods. The grocers are very nice and they do have a hot and cold bar with healthy meal options. You can get a protein and two sides for $7.00 which is reasonable. If Goodness Grocery puts effort into checking expiration dates, it would be a better option for customers interested in healthy products. A Sprouts Farmers Market is opening this spring down the street so these are serious details that this independent health grocery store need to take seriously. As a patron of this establishment, I expect products on shelves to not be expired. I should not have to check the expiration date anticipating it to not be fresh. I shop at Goodness Grocery for most of my daily vitamins and supplements. They have a very knowledgeable lady on staff to answer any of your vitamin/supplement questions. The prices for the vitamins are priced a little less than what you will find at Whole Foods. (Even though I'm a BIG fan of Whole Foods -- why pay more if you can find it cheaper elsewhere!) This store stocks everything you can think of when it comes to vitamins/supplements. They also carry an extensive selection of packaged foods (i.e. chips, cookies, noodles, etc) at very decent prices. I love their Suzie's saltines baked with extra virgin olive oil! The best I've had. They have a very small section of produce (which I mostly purchase from Whole Foods anyways) and a small frozen foods section. They have a ready to made food bar on the side of the store. Selection is small (price very cheap!) but taste "okay" the several times I've ordered. This store is fairly new, I don't think they've even been open a month now, their deli section is currently a work in progress but I think it will be great when they have more of a selection in.
