I always liked this Kroger location when I used to live a bit down the road, even though it wasn't my usual Kroger of choice, since I also had a location that was actually much closer and more convenient to my house. Anyway... This Kroger location was always well lit and clean and I swear that it's MUCH bigger than a host of other Kroger locations across the counrty and definitely in the Metro Area, which subsequently means, that their offerings are a bit more expansive. It has a huge parking lot, but it's ALWAYS "On Tilt", as if they're giving away free food (Which they are NOT!!) As a general rule I loathe shopping, but since it's a "must" and I also prefer to do it myself, if I'm in the area and in need, I'll definitely step in. read more

This location has the worse customer service. I ordered several deli items to pick up on a certain day. Went to pick up deli items in person they had been sold. Deli manager wrote my telephone number down but deli representative claimed there was no telephone number listed when I arrived to pick up items. Everyone from store manager on duty to the deli manager had an "I do not care attitude". This store has got to do better if they want to keep customers. Deli manager had a poor attitude when I told her of my experience and I never heard from the actual store manager after filing a complaint. Additional customer training is needed and this store should not take their customers for granted. When it was time to purchase groceries, I went to the Publix down the street and received excellent customer service. read more

Do not buy gift cards from Kroger unless you want to take the chance of losing your money or the hassle of verifying each one individually. I attempted to purchase four $100 gift cards, they scanned, my money was immediately removed from my account. I had not even left the checkout as it did not give me a receipt. To sum it up, apparently the check-out malfunctioned because it just shut down and management could not care less. They could not verify if they were activated, the manager stated multiple times, "probably activated". It is policy not to refund gift cards, even though I was still in the store and it was a store malfunction. They refused to help me verify if they ever were validated, the manager stated they could not do that, it was up to me. I had to open and scratch off all four and take 10 minutes per to verify they were active. I was late for my event, had to present cards that looked like they had already been used, and I was personally frustrated when I should not have been. Kroger, you need to put up a big sign over your gift card area and put a disclaimer when you scan them that you are buying at your own risk. I did not do anything wrong or incorrectly; this was all on the store. Except for the cashier attendant, who I am sure is the lowest paid employee, there was no element of empathy and no apology. This isn't your normal little neighborhood grocery spot, this is a behemoth of a store, literally one of the biggest and busiest in the Southeast! If Kroger offers a product or service, this particular location stocks and/or offers it! Situated on the corner of South Cobb and Concord(Spring) sits this Kroger location. The shopping center is clearly anchored by Kroger, but also features a Papa Johns, Chinese restaurant, Wing Stop, T-Mobile, pet store, bank and of course, McDonalds. Additionally, this location features a Kroger gas station. Parking - While plentiful, the parking lot is always at least 70% full, so be prepared to search and maybe walk a little bit. Little tip...the best and widest spots are the ones that line the center barrier/walk way directly in front of the doors. If you are lucky enough to snag one, you won at life on that particular day! In addition to having one of the most expansive inventories of any grocery store, this location also features a hot bar (chicken, sides), sandwich counter, sushi bar, olive bar, cheese bar, florist and a Starbucks...all in addition to the normal meat, deli and bakery counters. Just like many stores these days, they also offer the curbside option with around 8 spots located just to the left of the pharmacy drive thru lane. Service has always been solid and I have never had an issue. The only thing about service, is it can be slow due to the volume of people in the store at one time. But, that is expected to some extent at such a busy place. A few constant gripes about this location...The Customer Service desk - For being such a large store, may be one of the smallest counters and is poorly located right by the front door, and due to its size and fact that it is also the money center, there is a constant line that wraps into the aisles and in front of the door on occasion. Buggies/Carts - Always out inside, so make sure to grab you one from the lot on the way in, that is truly the only way to ensure you get one! Stock - While they carry just about anything you could imagine, being able to actually get your hands on it may be tough here as they are out of things a lot! All these issues honestly stem from how busy they are and how understaffed they appear to be at times. I've gotten Curbside Grocery Pickup at this location over 25 times and I love it. The online ordering process is easy and I don't have to risk going into a store during a horrific Pandemic. I'm so grateful Kroger provides this service. Unfortunately, this Kroger is always understaffed which is Corporate & Management's fault, not the employees. They have to work really hard. When you get your groceries, please smile and say thank you. (I've seen a few mean customers) I always leave $2 in the trunk. Let's face it, the workers are doing something you don't want to do. 1.) Getting a time slot is easy. 2.). Orders can be modified until 12 the night before. 3.). It usually takes 10-15 min for my groceries so I bring a book to read. 4.). Even if an item appears to be in-stock when ordering, it may be gone during your shopping time slot. Items are Not pulled for you at the time your order. 5.) Items are the same price as in the store. This is unlike Publix which charges more for each item. 6.) You get the sale price. Unlike Publix. 7.) There is No Pickup Fee. Unlike Publix. 8.) Be aware that items that were on sale when you ordered may not be on sale the day you pick up. Last day of the weekly sale is Tuesday. Kroger has new sale prices on Wednesday. 9.). You can indicate if substitutions are allowed or not when you order. --- Trade-offs --- 1.) Occasionally, I've gotten produce I would not have picked myself. We came in for some wine so that we can have something to drink for the evening. It's one of them new type of krogers that somehow feels like FoodWholes. I like it, it's big its expansive and it feels like a true modern grocery shop. Everything was nice and neatly arranged. The aisles and the signs were very visible. It didn't take us very long to find the booze aisle too. We got ourselves a box of red wine and a bottle of white for the sister. The lines weren't very long either. Plus there was plenty of u-scan machines, which barely has any lines at all. We came in, we found what we needed, we paid, and we were on our merry way for movie night at my soon to be sister-in-law's apartment. Weeeeeeee!!! Great customer service! This is one of the nicer Kroger's. It's more on the upscale side. One of my favorites also. This Kroger is different from most Kroger's. It's has a hot food bar with Sushi made fresh daily. There's a florist with a big selection of flowers and plants. They also have an olive bar. There's a Starbucks inside by the restroom. This location sales furniture and baby clothes. This location has gas,so check the price. The store is always clean and well organized. The staff is always willing to help and assist you. read more

I use to go to Kroger all the time as a kid and young adult. Stopped going simply because when I moved back to GA the closest thing to me was a Publix. I remember savings used to be crazy at Kroger to I just started going back. The first time I went back I was confused why the cashiers were scanning people groceries and just leaving them to the side for the customer to bag. I assumed it was because they didn't have enough staff. I saw it, tried to assume the best and kept it moving. I just left again after seeing a mom at the store by herself with her two kids. The cashier scanned all of her things and simply watched her. The lady was trying to wrangle in two kids and pack this large amount of groceries into bags and then to the cart. He looked at her after about 2 minutes of her struggling and said "oh are you done?". He didn't offer to help one time. The lady got frustrated and eventually asked if he would help her. I dropped my stuff and ran up to help her. At that point I was irritated with him as well. He did the same thing to me but truly couldn't fix myself to ask him to help nicely so I just didn't at all. Then I watched him do it to the mom behind me. So, all that to say, I'll stick to Publix. At least I know I'll get manners and common sense. read more

I think it's time to give this place a well deserved review since this is my go to market for grocery buys. First and foremost, what's so unique about this specific store that others don't have is the taco bar. I've been to various Krogers around the city and have yet to see such bar. This location occasionally offers limited specials for street tacos, taco salads and bowls. Specials are a steal if you're looking for a hot budget friendly lunch or dinner. Besides tacos, they also have a deli stand, cheese/charcuterie stand, an Asian stand and a Starbucks. Just like any other Krogers, the deli stand offers a variety of sandwiches and fried chicken. In the Asian stand, pre made sushi and stir fried dishes are among several items that are served daily. The charcuterie stand is such a great addition especially for anyone who's looking for an assortment of cured meats. Their meats/produce are usually fresh and are a bargain when it goes on sale. I love the fact that this store is always stocked with their inventory. Certain areas of the store recently went through minor renovations and it definitely made the store look 5x better. Cashiers, manager and customer service also deserves a star for being the most helpful! read more

Last night (6/28) around 8:30pm I went grocery shopping at the South Cobb Kroger as this was the only time I had available this week. I went to checkout around 10:00pm. I stood in line as there were a few people in front of me. By the time I got to the register the cashier working told me she was closed and go go to one of the self-checkouts. I was confused and upset as my cart was overflowing with groceries (I spent about $400). I asked to speak to a manager because I had entirely too many groceries to do self checkout. The young female "manager" repeated what the cashier told me. I explained that it was just too much and if someone could just ring me up I would bag. She went on to say they couldn't and that the self-checkout has different sizes to place my groceries. She had no sympathy for her me even after I told her I was pregnant and just needed help. This "managed" had the audacity to look at my belly! At this point I asked to speak to someone above her. I was extremely upset at this point because I shop here all the time. I'm practically at this store every single day because I'm always forgetting to purchase grocery items. She goes and talks to another manager (I'm guessing). After it looks like they're going back & fourth for a minute she comes back over and rudely says, "we'll do it as a courtesy." Then she points for me to move from register 15 to 14 while telling me she'll ring me up. As I go to move registers she tells me "no I'll ring you up on 15" and then walks off. As I'm unloading my groceries the previous cashier starts to ring me up. During this time the male manager (I'm guessing) walks over (I'm crying at this point - pregnancy hormones?) and says he's sorry. That it wasn't a big deal and not to be upset. He goes on to say they're understaffed and he's not sure why the cashier didn't place a cart in her lane so people would know it's closed. I kept trying to apologize to him because I felt really bad like I had done something wrong. He just keeps going on about how he doesn't even use self-checkout himself. There's never really sincere apology. Never one did he or the previous manager ring me up, but instead made the cashier do it. I am just in shock about what happened. I love Kroger! There's plenty of employees there who go above & beyond and that's why my husband & I keep coming back. However, I'm just so upset about last night! I've never been treated like that before. Yay for the new South Cobb Kroger. This Kroger is brand new and you can tell. Everything still seems fresh and I went in a few nights ago and bought and entire dinner for about $6. I'm talking chicken legs, yellow rice and broccoli. You aren't going to believe this Kroger. Its more like a Super Walmart. Need a hand mixer. Check they have it. Need a hot cup of coffee. There is a Starbucks inside. This is one large Kroger. They also have the Kroger gas station at this location. I recently paid $2.87 per gallon after entering in my Kroger card number. A good deal when every where else its going for about $3.31 per gallon. Too bad this location is not near my home. I'd love to go Krogering here more often. read more

Super clean and pretty fancy - they've got all kinds of upscale food and goodies, from specialty foods (a great cheese selection, nice prepared foods aisle, interesting health food choices, etc) to an awesome floral department. Dear Kroger, Currently I get very few hours at home, so I pay double or triple amount of money to access healthy food on the go. But this morning, I was so disappointed with the quality of your prepared fruits. This $4 pre washed container of grapes not only contain so many inedible pieces, it had all sorts of stems and nasty remains from the bottom of a wash bucket. Although I'd like to march back to your store and request a refund, I'm using my lunch hour to simply express my frustration here, in hopes that you care about your customers to even read this. Abandon all hope ye who shoppe here. It is the closest. It is the largest. It may be the cheapest (for a lot of items) but the service is definitely THE WORST. The staff is actually friendly enough but there are CLEARLY not enough of them. Shopping at 3 PM on a Thursday and there are only 2 lanes open. (I'm sorry, I'm not doing self-checkout with a giant cartload of groceries) I was waiting to pay for over 30 minutes. This is not a pandemic issue, it's a staffing issue. If you can afford it, go to Publix. ANY Publix. It's worth it to save your time and avoid the frustration. They tend to be better stocked as well. This is a poorly run store and very disorganized. All chopped up in small disconnected sections. Shoppers wander a lot trying to find what they need. Have to do a lot of backtracking looking for maybe one or two items that are not in the section you would normally find them. The store is dark, old and tired looking. I have shopped here since the store opened. Initially, the store was clean and well stocked. About 2-3 months ago, the store remodeled. When I ask for help finding where a product is from an employee, they generally just tell me they don't know but I might try aisle X. They are never right, but they are also not concerned too much about helping me. Today, I stood for 5 minutes at the deli counter watching an deli employee make 4 sandwiches and never even acknowledge my existence. When I finally asked if I could get some help, a different employee said, "We are all busy." I left and went to Publix where someone happily waited on me. I won't be back to this Kroger. After 2 years, I thought I would give this store another chance. This time, though, I stood at the fish counter in the meat department while two employees ignorned. I smiled that each of them, but while they saw me, they looked right past me. I waited for about 3-4 minutes for any acknowledgement that I was there, but got nothing. I left my half-full shopping court and shopped at Publix where I am always treated like a customer should be treated. read more
