Exterior Plenty of parking. When you turn in from Powder Springs Rd, there is a very blind, somewhat steep curve. Be careful. A few months ago, I turned left, into the lot and stray cat walked in front of my car. Another motorist turned in right behind me (speeding, to beat the other cars traveling straight). Motorist was not expecting my sudden stop and rear-ended me - then fled the scene. No stars deducted for this. Just letting folks know to exercise caution. I've turned in before and had to stop short because a homeless person was unexpectedly standing right there. Interior Always clean and bright, but I dislike how difficult it is to find stuff in the store. For instance, they often have this frozen salmon that I enjoy - but, for some reason, they don't put it with the rest of the fresh or frozen salmon - it's at the back of the store, near the ice cream and frozen vegetables. And some of the items I'm looking for are in the 'international section,' but some of the 'international items' are inexplicably placed on the regular spice aisle. And they have a section dedicated to the weekly specials, but only about 25% of the weekly specials are actually in this section. 1 star. This leads me to my second problem with the store. Customer Service If you ask an associate for help - 99% of the time, they are gonna tell you that they a) point-blank don't know where it is or b) it's out of stock. It's extremely maddening when b) happens and later, you stumble across the item. This actually happened to me with the heavy-set, African American lady with the hyper-pigmentation. I later found out that she is an assistant manager. She's always frowning and scowling. And she's always hiding out in the back texting. (I've seen her multiple times when walking past the prepared foods towards dairy because there's no door and you can straight into this area designated for employees only. Some of the cashiers are incredibly rude and if you complain, you're told that they are just shy or uncomfortable talking to strangers. I'm shy too, but I had to learn, at a very young age, to get past it for work and fake it. Rob, the manager, is great! And there are 3 cashiers / associates that are actually friendly and helpful, but the rest of them act like they hate life and hate everyone that comes in the store. So ... 0 stars for the rude folks and 5 stars for Rob and the nice folks, averaging out to 2.5 stars. The website states that they deliberately don't have a way to call the local stores because it allows them to have smaller staff which equals lower prices. One of the employees told me that there's never more than 3 people working at one time. I don't know if that's accurate, but if so that would explain why no matter what time of day I go, it seems like there's always only one register open, self-checkout is closed, and there's a line of 6 or 7 people. It can be frustrating when some people have 1 or 2 items, but others have overflowing shopping carts. A few time, I've put my items away and left. No stars deducted for this because its not the store's fault, but corporate needs to re-assess this 3 employees per shift thing. Price / Value I get my Roma tomatoes and frozen salmon here, weekly. I keep an eye out and stock up when they have boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale for $1.99. They have really good produce. I also stock up on cabbage when they have it for $0.69 or $0.79 a pound. I recently discovered their whole wheat naan is delicious. And they have a pretty good cabernet sauvignon for $4 that's great for cooking and drinking. Lol. I always look at the weekly ad because it gives me the opportunity to try new things at a low price. 5 stars. Overall Overall, I like this store. I wish they would get a better staff. They don't even have to be friendly, just don't be UNFRIENDLY, and don't be lazy (as in familiarize yourself with inventory / products and their locations). While they might no longer warm the cockles of my heart (lol at my phone auto-correcting to cuckold in my original review), but I do visit them 1 - 2 times per week - so they have to be doing something right. read more

Some of the vegetables aren't as fresh as I would like but others are very fresh. I haven't been here before so I can't see it's consistent either way. purchased chicken wings. When opening to prepare a meal, the content seemed less than what the package was indicating. I decided to weigh the wing content and compare it to the label. To my dismay the weight of the wings was 1.9 pounds even though the label was marked with 2.25 pounds. I noticed that the container had a very thick heavy saturated pad in the bottom, so I weighed the container with just the pad and plastic wrap and that was 9.7 oz. I couldn't tell if the label was printed by the product manufacturer Tyson or by Lidl. Nevertheless, the label was not matching with the content and there is obviously price cheating occurring and we are actually paying even more for the product because we are getting less of the product and more of water content. Be aware of this and better not to by this prepackaged meat where they can add liquids. read more

My sister visited a Lidl store in Charlotte, NC months ago and raved about it. I wanted to visit, but did not get near a location until yesterday. This store is located on a corner with great signage, no way you can miss it! Walking in I was immediately impressed. When you walk in you are in the produce and fresh bread area of the store. The store is unblemished. Everything was in its proper place, the floors are clean, and the produce looked fresh. In addition to the store being asrherically pleasing, the prices are generally competitive. I purchased a 4 count bag of avocados for $2.99! However, I would suggest being mindful of the cost of items because some things were over priced. They sell a variety of items from groceries to random items such as Christmas decor. Although this particular location is a little far from my home, I do believe I will venture to the other location in Mableton frequently. I enjoyed every aspect of my visit from the service to the actual products that I purchased. read more

The Scan your Own lanes were backed up with three as well - those able to check out had 30+ items in their carts (should be a limit)...no express lane. Lidl is the new grocery store in town. It reminds me of Aldi but on steroids. I do believe Lidl is a German brand store that they brought to the US! Just like any other European grocery stores, you will be charged if you use a disposable bag at check out. But similar to Costco and Aldi, they have boxes available for use to put your purchase in. My first time visiting was on a Saturday night, two days after their grand opening. The hype hasn't died down when we were as the store was packed! However, we were greeted with friendly workers who made us feel very welcomed! The store has the bakery section on the left (with an abundant amount of fresh pastries) and pre-packages breads, bagels, etc. Walking ahead is where the produce section is. The prices are very reasonable and honestly, so worth it. Though some of the brands we're familiar with, such as Green Giant, Arizona tea, etc., but they have other amazing items as well. They even have a pretty good wine selection (the Corte Alle Mura Chianti is my favorite)! Can't wait to go back here again and basically purchase what I didn't the first time. read more

How do I profess my love of Lidl? Lidl pronounced Lee-dle, like needle. First, I'm a big fan of those other German grocery stores. And like those stores, Lidl carries similar items at similar prices. Like that other store they have weekly specials on household items, clothes, gardening items, etc. They also do the holiday specialty items like cookies, cheeses, candies, etc that I also love about those other stores. Now here's what Lidl does differently...they have their own in house bakery!!! Yes, right in the store there is a fresh bakery making cookies, donuts, breads, rolls, etc. you can even buy a loaf of fresh bread and choose whether you want to have it sliced up, right on the spot. Again, this hugely sets Lidl apart from those other 2 and puts it in competition with dare I say Publix and Kroger, who are more well known American grocery stores. And let me tell you, those sour cream donuts and apple fritters are not to be missed. (In fact, I was there yesterday and both were completely out because obviously the word must be out.) Their meat department is a lot larger than the other 2 as well. Those others have options but not a real fresh meat section like Lidl. Lidl has weekly specials were nearly every week there is some type of steak on sale for $4.99 or $5.99. I've had nearly all of them and they're all a great value. They also offer ground lamb which is delicious. If you want the best selection and to get in on those sweet weekly meat deals it's best to go on Wednesday when Lidl sales and specials begin for the week. Of course this also makes Wednesdays pretty popular days. To stay on top of the specials and sales (and special savings opportunities) download their app. If you spend $150 in a month you get a special discount, and if you have 3 $20 purchases you get a discount. I think I even got a special discount for downloading the app. Hey, $5 pays for several boxes of their delicious shortbread and chocolate cookies that I'm addicted to -- and that are much cheaper at Lidl than 6 other grocery stores that I've price checked them with. I feel pretty lucky that I have 2 Lidl stores near me. I think it helps to make up for the fact that TJs is still over 20 miles from my home. Lidl seems to be opening more stores around Atlanta, so if you're lucky enough to have one near you take advantage of it. read more

ALDI...watch out! You have been warned. Today was the opening of Lidl in Powder Springs. The place opned up at 8. It is like Aldi, but bigger and prettier. Prices are very reasonable and affordale. They have brand name items, a big selection of wine, clothes (Heidi Klum brand), fresh uber affordable and big variety of produce,and a wonderful bakery right in the entrance. You can get your fresh loaf, place it in the bread cutter and voila! You have fresh sliced bread. The personnel was very nice and helpful. There are many cash registers, which in comparison to Aldi, you don't have to wait forever to get checked. You guys have to really give this place a try. I will definitely be going again! read more

I have been here twice since they opened. I came during the first week of opening on a Saturday afternoon. The workers were very nice and greeted everyone as they walked through the doors. This was my very first time going to a Lidl. The store was crowded, which I understand since it is a new store. A few things were out of stock, which I understand as well, since the store has been packed. All in all, my first Lidl experience was good. Came back the 2nd week they opened. It was on a Saturday, around 3pm. It was packed and crowded again, which I understand since the store is still new. I noticed there weren't any carts, again. I noticed more shelves were empty. A lot of the items that was on the weekly ad was out of stock already. Mind you, this was during the middle of the day on a Saturday. It would've been different if it was towards the end of the day. I get it, the deals were good. 39 cents a pound for whole chicken legs - can't get that deal anywhere else. I had to ask a worker if they were going to restock and they said they were completely out of stock.... this specific deal was a "weekend deal" which means, it was for Saturday & Sunday only. So they ran out of it in way less than 7 hours... sheeeesh. You would think they would prepare for a high demand for that. I saw a lot of things on the weekly ad that I wanted to buy, that's why I came back to Lidl but more than half of the things I wanted to buy were out of stock already. It's just kind of disappointing but hopefully they'll get better with keeping the shelves stocked later on down the road. read more

What a peculiar experience. I'm not sure what I was expecting on my first visit to Lidl. I was hoping for an organized and curated visit. I was wrong. As a single person I rarely cook large meals or source frugal ways to prepare food. My review is purely based on layout of store, offerings and the experience of my visit. Upon entry you feel like you have an organized set up like a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods 360 Market. Soon I was lost in the aisles of disarray. I decided to peruse the perimeter of the store first and then the aisles. The biggest obstacle was the crates of product blocking most aisles used to replenish stock. With the amount of people + crates impeding the flow, it was a bit much. I was searching for a shopping experience, and it was was becoming clear you need to be a value shopper to enjoy this chain. It is like the IKEA of grocery stores. In the center of the store you have a hodgepodge of product. Everything from a $10 yoga mat to a $119.00 Singer sewing machine. Nothing makes sense. It feels like Costco in the middle of the grocery store, mixed with faux Timberland boots. My final takeaway is to explore this store often, learn the product and stay away from the $3.99 succulents and pajama sets. read more

A very cool new way to shop for food. I got 4 meals ingredients for under $50...a huge savings compared to Kroger. It was very busy when I was there, so looking forward to my next visit. The selection was terrific; not very vast, which saves me a ton of time. Every product I brought home was fresh and enjoyed. I was in the store today. Shopped the entire store and reached the last aisle where the coke, etc was stocked. There was a large sign directly above the Coke products "4 for $10.00". I had already picked up the small cans of Coke Zero in a prior eisle. When my husband saw the sign he says,"" this is a much better buy." " Put your small cans back and I will get 4 of these for $10.00." We did. When we go to the self check out the cartons would not ring up as 4 for 10.00 they would only ring up at regular price, we called someone over; Raven and she spoke to a man that was walking by and said "they already have the sign up for the weekend items on Coke", she explained it was the cost for the weekend items. I cautioned her that they should not have the sign up UNTIL the weekend. So she says"I'll give it to you at the sale price..she did, and she left. We rang up the remainer of our items, my husband is paying and here comes Raven running to us, there is NO SALE PRICE UP THERE...I SAID YES THERE IS AND I WENT TO LOOK. THE SIGN WAS GONE. SO they removed the sign, said it wasn't there and she again changed our ticket back to the regular price all the time I'm telling her the sign was there (how else would I know)..she said by the ad. I was not shopping for Coke from the ad. I can certainly afford to pay regular price but for this girl RAVEN to accuse me of lying just to get a discount is beyond me. It is the being called a lie that has me so angry. It would never have happened in any other store in Atlanta. Lidl better educate your employees. No one is going to try to squeeze in a discount by lying. I am sure the person she originally talked to went over and took the sign down but RAVEN would not listen. I have visited this store several time now, and I like the selection, as well as, the variety of organic choices. The only drawback I have experienced is during checkout. Checking out seems to be an issue every time. I have used the cashiers and I have used the self checkout. I had a scanning issue and the self checkout and had to wait several minutes, as no one was around to help. I really like this store so I sure hope they can improve the checkout experience. read more

Management do not care if employees wear masks. Some of the few employees wearing masks were not wearing them properly (nose exposed). This is not a safe place to shop. Lidl should follow the example of other major retailers and enforce masks. read more

People don't use the little paper to get their pastries. I saw a teenage boy literally take about 12 croissant pastries with his bare hand. No paper or anything. I told the cashier what happened so he can pass the message onto his manager. I should of just told the manager because I don't think the cashier did anything. It's gross and nasty. Either Lidl need tongs or have one of the employees get the pastries for the customers. I'm not going back until they change that. read more

They are similar to another store of the same type but I have never had to wait to check out and, they have self-checkout (which I don't actually recommend because if you have an issue it's tough to get someone who isn't helping a customer elsewhere to help you). I spent $168.53 at Lidl on 5/13/2020 we bought a lot of meats and other essentials. On 5/14/2020 we were going to make burgers so I got the ground beef out and it was spoiled (both of them). So I took it back and I was told they are not taking back anything because of the pandemic. So now I am out $9.32 plus tax. I told them I should at least get credit for it and they can toss it but I was NO! So if anyone that wants to shop there it's at your own risk because you will not be able to return anything you buy and toss your money out the door! read more

I enjoy my many visits to Lidl. If it's for a full grocery list or to pick up an item or two it's always a great visit. The produce section always has the freshest choices. The fresh baked breads are delicious! The meats are always very reasonably priced. There are usually some great seasonal selections in the center isles. The staff has always been friendly and personable. So here is why I'm giving them a 4 star rating and not a 5. The customers! I know that sounds unfair but here's why. Unfortunately when you have customers who do not watch their kids or don't even pick up after themselves for example, it doesn't take long for any establishment to look unkept. And this happens at this location A LOT. Every time I've been in this location there is some type of havoc that is or has occurred. IF the customers would show more pride for their community establishment this wouldn't be a problem and this location would get a 5 star rating hands down. I'm not sure if they need more help on the floor or if the help they have need to pick up the pace. I'm sure since this Lidl is new and they're still ironing out the wrinkles that it will not take long to work it out. read more
