My favorite Publix. It's become very quiet since the new Kroger but that helps me actually . I no longer use the pharmacy as that was a disaster. Customer service needs better trained staff as the lines yesterday were terrible. Very annoying they don't do anything about illegally parking in wheelchair spots. It happens all the time. I always have the BEST customer service here. Publix is know as being the place where "shopping is a pleasure" but for me, it rings so true at this location. All the checkout lines have cashiers that greet you with a smile. The other day I accidentally left a $75 gift card at the checkout register (I obviously had a lot on my plate that day). I realized it when I got home and immediately called the store. They went to the register I was at and the cashier had put it to the side hoping I would come back for it. Thankfully I was able to come get it in just a few minutes. I was so happy at the great customer service I had that helped me fix an error I made. So thankful for them!! read more

The woman who was bagging walked away as soon as we started checking out so we bagged our own items. Jashai did not greet us or tell us to have a nice day, balled my receipt up and handed it to me. Friday April 12th @12:45 It's now been about 30 minutes I have been in line, they have three people behind the deli line making sandwiches. one employee completely disregarded the line and went ahead to tend to people popping up to the hot food stand. The second employee is taking peoples orders, but has taken 20 minutes to make a single wrap for one customer, and then the third employee is taking on online orders, each sandwich is taking her about 15-20 minutes to make, from what I've seen so far. there is absolutely no management is site, there is a line that has been backed up for about 30 minutes with only two customers served during prime time lunch time. No wonder this location has such a low rating. over 30 minutes to get a single sub, with only three people ahead of me. The Storage Manager needs to do better, clearly the Deli Manager doesn't care! read more

The pharmacy at this Publix location is one of the worst pharmacies I have ever experienced. I order my RX through the automated voicemail machine or on the app. However when I go pick up in store, they tell me it is going to be a 30 minute wait. Every Single Time. The staff is so rude. The pharmacist himself looked at me with disgust when I walked up to the counter to check in on the status. I went to this Publix location (Delk Rd. and Powers Ferry) yesterday. It was quite crowded so I decided to speed things up by using the Self-Checkout. I had five items and two grocery store coupons I had cut from the paper. I rang up my items and scanned the first of my coupons (a margarine deal!). It rang up nicely, and and I dutifully inserted it into the blinking coupon slot. Out of nowhere the appointed Commandant of the Self-Checkout runs over, physically shoves me aside, pulls out a key, and opens up the coupon container. She pulls my coupon out, grabs the other one from my hand, and shouts "is this your only coupon???". I explained to her that one of them was my already-scanned coupon, and the one she snatched out of my hand hadn't been scanned yet. I asked her if there was a problem. She merely shouted again if I had any other coupons. Um. No. Just the two. She runs to customer service to confer with someone there. I could see her waiting for several minutes for that someone to pay attention to her. Then finally she comes back from her consultation and sullenly says that the coupons were now approved. "Why wouldn't they have been?", I asked. She wouldn't acknowledge me. I told her I was confused, and would she please explain. She grunted, gave me the stink-eye and walked back to her post, refusing to speak to me. I have NO IDEA what the whole thing was about. Do they not accept coupons at Self-Checkout? If so, why is there a slot for them (and why do they ring up)? Did I maybe do something in the wrong order??? I'm totally baffled. I shop fairly regularly at this location, but will be rethinking my shopping habits. I don't expect this kind of inexplicable rudeness at Publix, but then again, I rarely use Self-Checkout (maybe it's normal). There's a Kroger right across the street that has very friendly staff. read more

Been working in the area going on three years now. Service is supurbe. I've even called the seafood department once when I was getting off work to see what time was the latest to get steamed seafood, the lady that answered at the time mentioned she was about to clean the machine where they steam the seafood and close the seafood counter in less than 30 mins. I was super shocked when she asked what I wanted and told me she would have it prepared by the time I got there. She did, with both the steamed seafood and the fresh items I told her Id wanted. I've learned it to your advantage to request your sandwich made online before coming to the store if its your lunch break. Cashiers are still a little chatty, but I think that's a Publix requirement. I worked in customer service long enough to know you don't have to be chatty to be friendly and professional, but overall, they will get you through the line quickly read more

Great Bakery This is a review of only the Bakery in this store. If the rest of the store is like the Bakery, it's really a great place. We were in town for a combination Thanksgiving/Christmas with my sons and their wives since we can not be here for Christmas. Dec 2 is also my eldest son's Birthday and at the last minute, we decided to get a birthday cake to present to him over dinner. The staff in the bakery were very helpful and the young lady who decorated his cake has great artistic ability.. That said, the cake as delicious as well. We're getting our first Publix in Cornelius NC after the first of the year and I hope it'ss half a good as this one. The ones we have encountered on our Florida trips have generally been good and I hope they continue the trend with the opening of this new store. read more

I hate this publix. They have such lazy employees, they never speak to you, never any registers open maybe 2. Always have to go to self checkout cause the lines are backed up into the isles and take forever. Some employees just standing around watching everybody wait forever. I don't live in this area, but sometimes I work closeby. Since Spring Break means nothing is on its usual schedule, I missed breakfast this morning. I wanted to find some fresh--instead of "fast"-- food and decided to stop off here for a sub. I ordered a Boar's Head Ultimate on their soft wheat roll-substituting turkey pastrami for the ham (because, ya know-no swine for me, thanks), and all sorts of veg fixin's. I also picked up some ripe & sweet pineapple chunks. Who doesn't love something sweet to finish a meal? I don't know if it was the premium meats, the enthusiasm of the gentleman who made my sandwich (I love to name-drop great service, but unfortunately I didn't get his), the general good vibes coming from the cashiers interacting with the customers and eachother, or the fact that it was almost 2pm and I was famished (see: Eddie Murphy Raw re: saltine/ritz cracker)...anyway, everything was so delicious- but really no surprise here, it's Publix! Here's what I did note on this visit: unlike other locations I've been to, this one seemed to have a dedicated entrance and exit-I got the feeling I had entered through the exit, by how close I was to the people checking out when I stepped inside. They have a lot of perfectly-sized pre-made salads, fruit bowls, etc., if you wanted to stop by and pick something up ahead of the lunchtime crowd. I'd give them a zero but Lydia makes the place worth going to. I've been going to this location since 1999 and the last 6 months the way the deli department is run makes the Post Office look hyper efficient. Called today a Saturday needed a deli platter they told me NO needed 24 hours notice called the Publix on Piedmont Road I'll have the platter in a couple of hours. The deli department just doesn't care you'll have 4 people looking to make sandwiches with 1 person in line and 5-6 people waiting for deli meat and nothing; I imagine it takes an act of congress sans the Russia Investigation to get a little help LOL. Spoke to the Manager Mike he apologized and let me know that there's been a ton of complaints about the deli and the lack of service and the fact that the other Publix is 3 miles out of my way I'll be making the trip there from here on out The deli department needs a check from the neck up. And y'all must have thought she was Superwoman cause she was also the only one acknowledging people standing in line to get your fresh hot chicken wings. I've learned my lesson with this Publix location... go in expecting to leave frustrated and anticipate walking away empty handed. I am from Florida and thus I am a huge Publix fan. I will say I think this might of been my most disappointing Publix experience. It wasn't horrible but it was not the five-star experience I am used to it Publix at all. For one upon arrival the door wasn't working no one could go in and go out and when I told a few people it didn't seem to faze them or are there didn't seem to be any concern. Next I went to get a specific item they sell and they were out and usually they are happy to go see if they have the item in the back the young man I asked about it kind of rolled his eyes and appeared that I was bothering him. He claimed to have looked in the back and said there was none I'm not sure if you did or did not because he definitely didn't seem interested in servicing the customer. Next I went to the cash register and asked the girl if the door was working yet and she said there was nothing wrong with it and I said yes there was because people couldn't get out or in her a while and she just went on about her merry way. Finally we did see some people go out of it so she pointed out it's working now but that was without any inquiries or concerns for the customer which typically is what I get at Publix. The good news is it it has on the items I wanted so if I was rating it for normal grocery stores I would give it three stars. But for a Publix rating I am giving it to stars compared to how great their services usually are. Thus once again to be fair for Yelp I'll give it three stars it wasn't horrible it was just average and blasé. Disappointing for a Florida girl who knows Publix is usually cream of the crop when it comes to groceries as Chick-fil-A is to fast food. read more

I appreciate the freshness and quality that I can find in Publix. The service is always excellent. There are many helpful and friendly employees who make it their business to support the needs of the customer first which is rare to find, and non-existent in many large chains. I appreciate the consideration of having many open and available lines at checkout. I have never had to wait in line very long before I was able to get my items on the belt. 7/22/20, So the sign on the door says masks are "required" starting on 7/21, however I see about 10 customers walking through the aisles not wearing masks. I then ask a Manager about the rule. I'm wearing my mask, playing my part. The people not wearing masks don't give a shit about others. I honestly haaaaate this location, the pharmacy takes forever to process my prescriptions and I've had to go through withdrawals bc they had to order drugs they're supposed to keep in stock for me. I've stood in line for 30 minutes just for some old white dude to be helped ahead of me. I've been yelled at by the manager for dropping a basket which honestly was super embarrassing and then he told me I was rude when I told him I didn't care. Like? I didn't do that shit on purpose? While checking out at this Publix the bagger says is this for instacart . I say no. She then says man for people to not have money right now they sure are spending a lot of money on groceries. Which was out of no where and geared to be a racist comment because I'm black. Now that I'm no long working in Smyrna, I'm getting wistful for some of the little things. Don't get me wrong. Not commuting there can't be beat especially with all the jacked-up things they're doing to the Connector. But, believe it or not, I kind of miss this Publix. The Delk Road Publix is a full-sized grocery store, which is a novelty to my intown self. Oh and it's clean, which is also a novelty. I used to stop by here at my lunch hour to pick up groceries that I knew would be hard to find at EmoKroger or Kroghetto. I'm impressed that the produce guy goes the extra mile and occasionally stocks more exotic fruits here. I once bought rambutans and brought them home to my fiancee's horror. (Rambutans are weird, spiky tropical fruit that look like they were grown on Yoda's planet.) They've got a cute pharmacist and the sample lady seems to enjoy giving them out. In fact, everyone here is perky and it kind of creeps me out. But then again, I've lived intown for so long that maybe I'm just paranoid. The cashiers, the bagboys, it seems like they MEAN it when they say "Have a nice day!" Creeeepy. Well, there's one exception and it's the thing I miss most of all. I miss the cranky old guy in the deli section. He makes sandwiches at lunch time and he's a cranky old SOB. But one day we got on the subject of movies and he perked right up. Apparently he likes action movies so talk to him about the latest Michael Bay abomination and he'll prep your sub with a smile. Otherwise, it'll seem like you're asking for an organ donation when requesting extra mustard. But it was little things like this that actually made my work day those four years in Cobb County. However, it is not convenient for me for regular grocery shopping. But when I am in the area and need something - this is where I will go. The people are usually pretty friendly and helpful, the store is laid out very thoughtfully and smartly, and things are very easy to find. Everything is well-stocked and there are plenty of choices. The checkers always ask if I was able to find everything okay - the answer is usually yes. The place is clean and there are plenty of staffed check-out lines. There is a ton of parking - also this is great. They have 2 Redbox machines as well. I'm a fan, I just wish this one was closer to me. read more

Since moving this has become my closest Publix. I guess I was kinda spoiled living on Barrett Parkway with not one, but two great Publix locations within 2 miles from me. This Delk location is quick and convenient, but older and therefore not as spic and span as I'm used to. I'm also not the greatest fan of the way things are set up with the fruit and veggie section on the right, the deli in the back corner on the right and bakery way back on the left. I've always had a good feeling whenever I came into this particular Publix, and I have been doing so for years. This store is always stocked with everything you need and also is very clean. A lot of the attendants are friendlier than you'll find in most supermarkets, or any kind of retail store for that matter. The main reason though, that I'm finally writing about this store is the terrific Deli women. This is now my neighborhood Publix since I moved about 6 months ago. Really, it's not much different than any other OTP Publix... nothing sufficiently notable for it to earn some moniker like the Pick Up Publix or The Kroghetto. But, what won me over is that the deli is open late. So even when I roll through here at 9:30 in the pm, I can still get my deli meats. And everyone is always friendly and helpful. These are big differences to me compared to just about every Kroger I have been to where it seems the del counter is usually closed by 8 and the people just seem like a bunch of surly inmates serving 5 to 7. read more

I don't know who is writing these reviews but you've obviously never been to Newer grocery store. They don't even have a chicken wing drumettes that you can buy. Frozen food section is way overpriced and nothing is ever on sale. I walked in there twice and walked out of there twice both times with nothing in my hand. The store is very old looking and dirty. The store looks like it was built in the 1960s and hasn't had an update since then. Check out cashiers were just standing there staring up at the ceiling chewing gum. Staff may be helpful but I wouldn't know because they have never greeted me. I would rather go to Harry's market, prices are the same. read more

So I didn't feel like cooking anything , but I wanted to eat something healthy. Anyway I decided to go to the Publix down the street for one of those subs everybody keeps raving about. I ended up ordering one of their ultimate subs, which had roast beef, ham, turkey, swiss, and lettuce, tomato, bell peppers, onion, and spicy mustard. I also bought some of their store made sushi, more specifically their California roll. I paid for everything up front at the check out lane and decided to eat my treats (and share! too much food) at home. The sub was really good, the bread was really fresh and had a crispy crust and a soft inside, yummy! The toppings themselves were really fresh and just delicious. Their sushi tends to be pretty good for grocery store sushi... I actually lived on this stuff while I was on rotations and didn't feel like cooking and paying out the ass for expensive sushi when I was a student. I shop at 7am to try to be safe during Covid. I appreciate stores that make every effort to keep the public safe. This store was disappointing this morning. At the entrance there were no wipes in the dispenser at the very beginning of the day. At the beginning of Covid you saw an employee wiping carts. You don't see an employee assigned to that job any longer. They removed the directional arrows for one way aisles. Why?????? And I saw a customer with no mask. I always see a customer with no mask in this store. Why is masks required not enforced? Come on people. This is my favorite local grocery store. I feel it is cleaner and better stocked than others. They have recently remodeled a bit and it is taking me some time to get used to the new layout, but they did a nice job of refurbishing much of the store. Also, many of the employees have gotten to know my family and we have gotten to know them. It is great to have a relationship like this with a local store. read more
