This Publix location is good if you need to stop by and grab essentials but they are a relatively small store. The staff seemed pretty friendly and everything was clean and organized but there wasn't a large selection of different products. The self checkout was pretty fast and everything was easy to find while shopping. The location is nice in midtown and walking distance from restaurants and other popular attractions in midtown. read more

Nothing special about this market/grocery store except the sandwiches! Very long line with slower than molasses workers, with no food prepped beforehand. Waited almost 40 minutes in the long line, it was worth it cause the day before the line was even longer and didn't want wait. They sliced the meat and cheese fresh and put it on the fresh baked bread from a few hours before. Loved that sandwich so much with the chewy bread and ample portions of meat and cheese. Now you know why the lines are so long, but they would be quicker if they did the food prep ahead of time. :-) For sure will be back to get another sandwich when in Atlanta. read more

2024 S U M M A R Y This location just doesn't live up to the Publix name but there is free parking and it is right next to a train station! G O O D S This Publix is in the middle of the city so it's relatively small in the offerings are a little more limited. Yet, they do have most of the things you would expect at any Publix. The freezer section is well stocked as is the meat. The deli always has a long line and there are always options at the bakery. Wear this Publix fall short for me is the fresh produce. The produce always looks like it's about to spoil or has been mishandled. Nothing ever looks fresh nor enticing. I rarely buy fresh produce from here. I did get a birthday cake made here and it was really good. They even called me and confirmed that I wanted the cake the way that I explained I wanted it. For example, I asked them to make the buttercream lighter in color and told them how I wanted the sprinkles... S E R V I C E The service here is generally good. The only issues I have are with the bakery. It is the section of Publix. I visit the most because I love cupcakes. Employees at this location never seem to realize that you're able to buy just a portion of baked goods if they are made by the Publix bakery. They also rarely customize the goods or say that they are not allowed to do that, even though I've been getting customize goods at Publix for over 15 years. They also often have things advertised that are not available. Like for their five dollar sushi Wednesday, they won't have all of the sushi options or they will say they ran out of rice. Weird. A M B I E N C E You will get a little bit of everyone here. You get a lot of students here, especially Georgia Tech students. You get a lot of people who live in Midtown. Literally the worst publix in the chain. I don't think I've ever shopped and walked out with everything I planned to buy. The shelves are always half empty. Maybe you can ask an employee for help if you can get one to take out their AirPods. Half the registers are always closed despite long lines. This is my go to store. It used to feel small but I realized it had everything I wanted/needed without walking forever or needing an hour or more to go get weekly supplies. Fruits/vegetables are fresh- in good shape- decently priced. I wish they were a bit more economical but quality is there. There are always deals if you watch for it. Submarine sandwiches- be ready to get in line but good news is- they are awesome! They are large and fresh. Bakery / Seafood/butcher- I rarely use so I can tell you it's there and always has someone ready to help. Publix bargains are BOGO or buy one get one. At first, I didn't think much of this program but over the years- I've really seen the value. Stack a coupon on top of it and really getting a deal. Pharmacy- really nice caring knowledgeable staff. They are always in demand and still take time to talk to answer questions and help. Free garage parking. A block from midtown marta station. They do have a reward coupon option app. Only negative is pharmacy, sandwich, & check out lines are long during rush hour. So, plan ahead to go before or after (5-7pm). read more

I've been a fan of Publix since moving from Florida in mid 2000. This is a downtown store. Parking is pay off street. There may be a garage but I did not see one. It was raining pretty hard when entering street level. It's a short walk downstairs. I came in with friends needing a few items like cheese, wings and chips. Although the store was clean and well organized. I found everything I needed and like that they carry higher quality items. Checkout was very smooth with plenty of staff. Upon exiting a homeless person was camped inside the door with a lot of gear, but not blocking the door. It was raining, but overall not a good policy. I'm mixed on this. 3.5 rounding up. read more

This is for the hot food and deli meat counters only. Great selection of tasty foods, sort of friendly staff, but they could do much, much better! This is the slowest spot in the world. Time almost stops here as it relates to service. If slow was a rock, this deli counter would be the Great Rock of Gibraltar!!! Only two people in line, the first person had 2 small meat requests. This is Publix store #1061 located on the ground level of The Plaza Midtown high-rise condominium block. This is a busy urban Publix in a high-density part of town. Along with serving residents from the numerous condos nearby, it's also one of the main grocery stores Georgia Tech students shop at (it's just a block away from Tech Square). This reminds me of the Publix at Piedmont and North Ave (I used to shop there when I was a Tech student, before this Publix was built) because of how busy it is, its relatively narrow aisles and generally more compact design, and a police/security and homeless/panhandler presence (though I don't think it's as bad here as the Publix at Piedmont). My primary Publix is the Publix at Atlantic Station and I prefer it to the Publix stores in the surrounding neighborhood because it's less crowded, cleaner, feels safer, and parking is incredibly easy on level P2 of the Atlantic Station deck. There's free parking inside the Plaza Midtown deck for this Publix. It can often get tight and trafficky. You can enter the deck via both Peachtree Pl NW and 8th St NW. Like the Atlantic Station Publix, I do like the covered deck parking and entrance to this store. Metered street parking is available too. It's free on Sunday. The main advantage this Publix has over the Publix in Atlantic Station is it has a better selection groceries and more staff. My fiancee likes the wider the selection of food. Also, the pharmacy here has two employees working at a given time compared to Atlantic Station's one (the Atlantic Station Publix is unique in that aspect). Overall, I give this Publix three stars. This is a really busy Publix especially the sandwich counter. I am frequent customer since I am resident of midtown but for some reason every time behind the counter of sandwich place the staff is always so confused and distracted. The staff kept having their own conversation in between making sandwich and getting supplies. One 4inch sandwich was made after 15 mins after moving around and repeating my requests. The line kept bigger and no one got their food. Additionally, the staff at the sandwich counter gave specific women in the line free or discounted price sandwich. I found this astonishing as one of them had a manager on their uniform. Recommend to go later after 12 because they forget to put up the discounts or deals later in the day on Monday for the week. The ambiance is very fast so if you like to do grocery shopping at your own pace, this will not be the place. read more

Store is great . The pharmacy & mostly the pharmacist & staff. One nice pharmacist with long blonde hair but not there often . I have been going in for 3 to 4 scripts a month for 7 months. I first time I was told that because of the close proximity to 3 colleges the were not filling one of my meds I ask why if it was a substance abuse issue & was told no but not ever given a answer. So I guess they got tired of filling & having to reorder so they took it upon themselves to cut into the store's revenue because they the people that don't do there job. I can count on one hand w/ left over fingers when I was not flipped shit at checkout. Most recently I was shopping and I knew it was one or two day till my refills so I saw the pharmacist that does her job and told her . No worries. Two days later in shopping, picked up one and waiting on one control sub to be filled in what I was told would be the next day . No it was the day after . So on my fill day I go back . He says it not ready so I ask him to fill it they have known now for 4 days . I gave them 4 day head start because there the ones not doing there job. When I have my Dr. call it in it 1 to 2 days before I get a text to pick up . WTH . The I'm never wrong male pharm from not here I guess the flip customers a attitude work exchange program. Start to lecture me but before he can the assistant with short hair and can not even field there phone calls . I'm not joking I have had to explain 3 times why I was calling . And there default setting when ask when my script will be ready ( when u get a text then u will know . Usually after 2 days of them having knowledge of it meds . Anyway the girl starts in " we'll go find another pharmacy " again so they won't have to do the job there getting paid to do , so I leave and 1 hour latter go back to pick up . "He tells me again today is my pick up day ", I know I ask if that's a problem because you can't stall me out for another 2 days. This is now mind blowing after a 4 day head start I gave them I'm told he no going to fill any of my meds ever again, I'm laughing now so as not to get upset . I'm from New Orleans where I was employed as physicians assistant for an oncologist and hematologist clinic. Part of my job was dealing with pharmacies and pharmacist all day long every day for 12 years in that time and then the other 53 years of my life, dealing with pharmacist I've never had a pharmacy act so horribly towards their customers so they figured out how to not fill one of my scripts straight off the bed from day one now they just turned it into a situation. where now they don't have to fill the second one of my scripts that's two out of three , ain't bad . In conclusion if you have to fill a script and you live in Midtown and think about going to the Publix, you probably should go to the CVS or the Walgreens in the area instead if your insurance takes that mine doesn't I vote them the worst pharmacy and the worst group of pharmacist except lady with blonde hair and pharmacy assistance since stores were selling opioid tincture, over-the-counter so if you have a prescription for Xanax and you go to pick it up it's safe to say you might have to take some on the way home, but that's just one man's opinion. read more

This isn't about any one particular Publix it's about Publix in general. Why is it all of a sudden their perk is spend $90 and they'll give you three dollars off your total. It used to be spent $20 and then you get three dollars off then it went to $30 then it went to 40 then it went to 60 and now this week is at $90 for three dollars off. Publix is ridiculous. You need to go back to what it was before stop raising the perk and lower the amount I mean really three dollars off of $90 total. And Publix , why on earth did you get rid of the best chicken you had, the lemon pepper wings was the healthier chicken because it was baked and lemon pepper because it's delicious and then you got rid of it if you notice people probably shop only during sales because your prices are quite high. The only good thing going for this Publix is the pharmacy. Two of us went to get a pub sub and it was like the employees were having a contest to see who could move slower. There was only one person in front of us and we ordered two sandwiches, not modified, yet somehow this was nearly a 20 minute affair. Also, the guy making our sandwich didn't know what came on the subs listed on the menu... and said we had to be specific bc he doesn't know what goes on them. Were they high? Hungover? Or do they genuinely move this slowly all of the time? I also asked for a bread listed on the menu and on the nutrition facts and the man stared at me with the blankest expression, until I said never mind and just pointed to a loaf that looked good. In the time I've been writing this, not a single order has been completed. I don't even think they know where the ingredients are located because the employee disappeared in the back for two minutes to search for meatless bacon. I have gone to this Publix for as long as I can remember because it's not that far from my house and the customer service for the most part is awesome! However, I was there tonight at about 815pm and the customer service I received in the deli from this African American male was deplorable! Horrible! First they only had ham available so he says. I didn't want just ham so I leave and comeback. The young lady in front of me was ordering and she couldn't get her order out fast enough before he is like what else what else what else. Same thing with me. Didn't hVe pepper-jack cheese so he says. Cool! Order my sandwich and when I tell you it was made the sloppiest I have ever had! I called Publix and it's been over a month of chasing the Deli Manager Shanethia or whatever and when I speak to her she said "Yeah, when I'm not here I come back to several complaints. I'll make yours trays myself and they will be fresh." Me... Trusting her reordered the trays and went to pick them up for an event with 23 people. I arrived and not only were the trays not made... The Assistant Manager said she was only left instructions to make one small tray with all 3 meats on it for 5 people! She kept apologizing and I was appalled. I returned to the store days later and met with the store manager. He didn't seem surprised at my experience and I finally got a resolution. Huge supermarket with plenty of parking, which is very convienant. They have a fresh food section as well which is what I came here for. Large selection of sandwiches, salads, pizzas(needs to be reheated), fruit cups, desserts etc. I didn't a sandwich from the deli but that was an option if you wanted a freshly made sandwich. Large aisles so easy to browse thru the store. Located pretty close to the local college as the place always seemed to filled with students. They also had a huge beer and wine section as well. I had a sub today from this Publix. They had a special. It was $4.99 for a whole turkey sub. The prices are good anyway, but that's a great deal! Fresh deli ingredients and fresh baked bread. The sub thing they have going on at Publix is a winner. You can also order online and it will be ready for you (haven't done that). The assistant deli manager is super nice. He made my sandwich today. Great service. I think if Publix improved their seating to be more like a quality restaurant establishment that more people would come in for sandwiches and dine there. As it is now, they are likely only going to get togo orders which limits things a lot. With free parking in the garage, nicer seating would do wonders for sales. The seating is an after thought from the grocery design and experience. Shopping here has truly been a pleasure--it's not just kitschy marketing. Everyone is super nice, and the sandwich people take their work *verrry seriously, almost to the point of being Picasso--spreading the mayo like it's paint on a canvas. Recently I had a guy help me unload my groceries from the cart to the conveyor belt. (read that sentence again and let it sink in.) This is super close to my hotel (like the next block close) and I needed a few groceries during our stay here. There's a parking garage and street parking available. We're from out of town, LA to be exact. Here for my son's football tournament. As I'm shopping, I remembered folks were saying to try out their subs. You know the saying that "Ice Tray" said in Fresh Prince, "..When in Rome, do as..." So I did. I tried them. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, Jerk Turkey and a classic cold Turkey sub. The bread is really good and the ingredients and toppings you choose what you want to put on your sub. I loved the Cordon Bleu. I needed a quick to go lunch before game day and this just did that. Filling and delicious. Great customer service and I also enjoyed the store in general. It's not as big as your normal supermarket, it's a cute small size perfect for Midtown. But I did run into a gentleman wearing a Braves hat and a GA hoodie while I'm sporting a LA hat and a Cali hoodie (10/16/21: NLCS Round: Game 1: Dodgers vs Braves game day) and I felt the competition vibe already - it's on!
