I went to the deli to ask an employee for assistance while he was standing on his phone near the sushi area. When I asked for help, he dismissed me with "I don't know" and went right back to his phone. What stood out most was the inconsistency. The day before, I was there for another order and the same employee was friendly and handing out samples. This time, the attitude was completely different and unprofessional. The service was piss poor, frustrating, and unacceptable. It also seems especially difficult for Instacart shoppers. The deli staff appear unwilling to assist with ready-made pickup items, and workers direct people to knock on the silver double doors in the back, where no one responds. If this is how customers and delivery shoppers are treated, management needs to address it immediately.

The self check out line is often manned by someone who is disabled. This brilliant self check out concept has led to rampant theft, which I have witnessed a couple of times. So, Kroger has taken to hiring a burly armed guard near the exit who checks customers' receipts. So, because of this company's extraordinary greed, we have a grocery store that treats all its customers with suspicion. Can this place get any worse? Maybe.
