It's time for my periodic one-star review of my local Kroger. It would be difficult for me to stop going here, as the family is particular about this and that and stuck on certain items that they carry. The understaffing issue at the checkout lines is one or two of some ten checkout counters open during the day with usually no bagger, while forcing most customers to use the self check out allowing Kroger to save a few dimes by hiring less people. The self check out line is often manned by someone who is disabled. This brilliant self check out concept has led to rampant theft, which I have witnessed a couple of times. So, Kroger has taken to hiring a burly armed guard near the exit who checks customers' receipts. So, because of this company's extraordinary greed, we have a grocery store that treats all its customers with suspicion. Can this place get any worse? Maybe. read more

The freezer and juices are rarely stocked. There is a lot of customer traffic and seems there isn't enough staff to replenish the product on the floor. They need to hire more staff to stock! read more

It is Dec 26, 2025 at 6:30am and the Kroger website is proudly telling me that this location should be open right now but they are not; they open at 7am. Could corporate and the local manager please communicate better. I wouldn't have gotten up early and driven here had I known it opened at 7am. I shop here often. The produce area is large. There is a Starbucks inside this Kroger, but it is VERY SLOW. I don't patronize Starbucks much, but if I do at this one, it is a test of my patience. Overall, this Kroger is fully stocked (during the first years of the pandemic, shelves were very empty), staffing is typical for a grocery store, and things seem clean. read more

I was at the deli counter for a solid 7 minutes waiting for a Kroger staff member to assist me. Ivy and another helpful man spotted me and went out of their way to try to find the deli staff member to assist me. Ivy ended up coming over and assisting me herself in a friendly, efficient, and polite manner not complaining once about having to pause her tasks to help me. She deserves a raise! read more

Michele (old lady) is not the person who needs to be assisting people at check out. The self check out kiosks were not working properly. They weren't scanning appropriately as well as not showing certain fruits on the keypad when the fruit wouldn't scan. Long story short, her attitude towards my finance was impatient and accusatory (over some $2 crescent rolls). Then when we directly asked for her help, she rolls her eyes and chooses to ignore us. So some other woman, who looked more like a grocery security person, chose to help instead. There were long lines of frustrated customers and both women either moved with no sense of urgency or not at all. In my opinion, don't have old ladies with surly attitudes and bad joints working in such an environment where it calls for friendliness and lots of movement. read more

This Kroger is my favorite Atlanta location due to its size, cleanliness and availability of products. This chain is usually well stocked with items that are fresh and the bakery is well stocked. The location also has a gas station, therefore I can save time by filling up right after I shop. My only complaint about this location is the Starbucks. The Starbucks at this location is constantly unable to produce the drinks due to mechanical difficulties and issues. It is almost to the point that it needs to close because it is usually not operating. read more

Shopped here 9 weeks ago because I was in the area after eating dinner nearby. I was looking for some snacks and bottled water. There were a lot of empty shelves when I went there. So many that I ended up not buying any of the snacks that I like (dark chocolate), and didn't find the bottled water that I wanted, so I ended up buying two large bottles of Smartwater. One third of the self-checkout registers weren't functional, so I had to wait in a short line. Parking was easy to find in the large free parking lot. I'm surprised by the low reviews. I had an amazing experience at this Kroger. It is not like your average Kroger--it's more like a Super Walmart. There is plenty of free parking, and they also have a fuel plaza. Inside, they carry things like towels, sheets, comforters, and other home decor items. Their laundry, automotive, and organization/cleaning sections are extensive (laundry baskets, hangers, you name it!). Their wine/beer selection is MASSIVE, and so are their kitchenwares. I did not have time to really take it all in, but wow! The employees were nice and customers were not on edge like some of the ones closer in town (ahem, Ponce). This Kroger is petty big. It includes a gas station and a pharmacy and is conveniently close to home. With the Kroger Pay App we saved at the pump too and get all the store coupon discounts (I think). While I feel like I am here weekly, i am still uncertain of all of the items on each of the aisles which requires me to backtrack a little more. Otherwise, this place as nearly everything I could ask. There is generous parking outside. Folks are friendly. read more

Awful company to work for, and the culture is extremely. toxic. The hiring process was unorganized, grueling, and long The management team lacked cohesiveness, and didn't communicate effectively. My first day of training, I was approached by an employee; who happened to be my lead trainer; Ms. MARGARET, and her introduction to me was her stating "I don't have an Issue with what an individual does behind closed doors, but there is no need to flaunt it in public." Mind you I'm a conservative gay black male living in Atlanta" I couldn't believe it. She harassed me the entire 2.5 weeks of my brief stint there until I was unceremoniously let go without any warning by the H.R. rep; CLARISSA Her demeanor was cold, smug, and dismissive. Her reason for letting me go was for having low productivity. I was hired as a Scanner basically an overnight stock clerk position!, with minimal training. The few times Ms. MARGARET did attempt to train me, she was very passive aggressive about it..Mind you I was never giving a consultation or written documentation for my work performance. The main reason I'm bringing this to the light is because we still live in a society where HOMOPHOBIA still exists in 2025, and also where some black women have an issue with black men being gay, and will target you, create a toxic workplace, and ultimately conjure up a false narrative to ultimately get rid of you. I recently moved into this area and was excited to have a large market close at hand. This huge, 2-story Kroger has little to offer in the way of food choices, more like a 7/11 on steroids. the lighting and floors give it a dingy and unclean appearance. I will say, upstairs has a great selection of wines and beers that far surpasses the food options offered below. The staff has a "wonderful" I could care less attitude. Instead of a walkable distance to this store, I find myself driving to the Publix on Lavista which is smaller with a better food selection and a very courteous staff. read more

if you can avoid this kroger, I think you should do so. The employees that work here are REALLY tough to deal with. They make a strong case for robot workers. I have to say that I was pretty impressed with this Kroger. It is huge! It has a bar that sells beer, wine, and sake! I could end the review right there, right? Everything you need is in this bad boy. All the sections are leveled-up. The meat counter has bacon, sausage, and pork chops on display (that's not all, but all I'm naming). Nice big seafood section, full fresh salad bar, huge selection of sushi, clean and organized produce section. Order you a pizza from their hot food section, if you please. I swear the non-food section looks like Walmart. I thought I was in a Walmart. A lovely sitting area is up front next to the Starbucks. It is spacious, clean, and nice inside of here. That parking situation might get you vexed. There are other businesses on the same lot, and you can't get a parking space without using the Law of Attraction (that's what I did to get a spot way. over. there.). This is the BEST Kroger I have EVER been to, and I'm a loyal Kroger shopper. This Kroger is the size of one and a half Walmarts. Inside: Starbucks, pharmacy, their wellness clinic, sushi bar, wine steward (with tastings), full bar with 20 beers on tap, Mexican stand, chicken stand, deli subs made as you order, and the list goes on!! This Kroger has the worst customer service of any store i've ever shopped. Today, my daughter's backpack was stolen from our car. I told the security guard and asked him to take down my number in case it turns up. He shrugged and said he had no way to keep that sort of information. When I got home I tried to call the store to see if a manager would be willing to take down my information. Every time I called, i would get put on hold and then occasionally someone would pick up the phone and disconnect me. At one point i did get a live person, I started explaining why I was calling, and she put me back on hold without even saying anything. But that's just the latest in so many aggravations at this store. The workers don't know where things are if you ask. The self-checkouts are constantly requiring a clerk's assistance, and they're often nowhere to be found or so busy with everyone else's stations that you have to wait forever to be helped. One set of the doors often is locked for no apparent reason. This store is absolutely the worst! read more

UNDERSTAFFED FOR MONTHS! GOOD LUCK GETTING OUT OF THIS PLACE! Sure, they're stocked up... but you'll have to get a cart from outside because the cart boys just hang out inside. If you are blessed by god himself, you'll get a live cashier at checkout. But she will probably not have no bags. The manager of this store literally WATCHED my disabled dad get the cashier more bags from one of the unopened registers. All this played out right in front of the manager and he still didn't say anything to us! My most recent trip I wasn't even given that sad option. (Why did I even return to this place??....) I was given a self-checkout station without bags. let me tell you I just made a fool of myself in this place, trying to figure this out. I'm soooo mad. I went here today, 8/8/2022, and it appears the Kro-bar is gone! I have no idea when it closed, but I had enjoyed sitting at their bar and sampling beers and wines since they opened. Other than that, today was a decent experience. Many staff members said hello as I was shopping (even out in the parking lot!). Checkout was fairly quick. I always go to this Kroger as it is close. I have to say the pricing is good but you have to use it for what it is. It's not Publix and is not as organized and the staff are nowhere as nice. However, the pricing and selection is good. Produce can carry fruit flies from time to time. read more

Shopping this evening otw home. Cart full. Approach self check out. No plastic bags. I looked up for assistance and notice a blue collar shirt employee who came over to ask how he may assist. I share there are no bags. He pointed to the paper bags and said that's what we have. Looked to the right and saw another register (did not appear open) with plastic bags and ask can those be used? Then he said if ya want. I asked could he bring some over? He replies "i do not bag groceries or move bags". As a person who champions good customer service I asked "are you a manager?" and he responds "that's what my badge says". He then tells me just to move over to the machine bc it is on. I shared with him that He did not handle this properly with those type of responses as a manager. And he walks off and talks audibly about me to the security guard saying "he is expecting me to move the bags". read more

Love this location! They have a huge selection to choose from here. There is fresh mad sushi, salad bar,deli, cheese and hot bar to choose from. They also have a bar that offers wines and tap. The store is clean and well organized also,this is one of my favorite locations read more

So we went to the Kroger ( we come here all the time) on New Year's Eve for the snow crab legs that were advertised on sale for 8.99 lb. And to our surprise, they did not have any left. We had been to two places and we're ready to call it quits! But we decided to purchase a $50 4 lbs frozen box of crabs, which we were not that thrilled about! Michelle M, the associate behind the seafood counter saw that we weren't having a great experience and offered to season and steam them once we paid for them. This made our day and will forever keep us coming back. Michelle M. was amazing!! She changed our entire day by just giving us great customer service. This is my absolute favorite Kroger EVER! They have EVERYTHING!!! It's like the Walmart of groceries! In addition to the normal grocery store sections, they also have a retail section with bedroom, kitchen and bathroom accessories, an elaborate beer and wine section and a full sized cheese bar! Any type of cheese you could possibly think of, they probably have it. I found I am a fan of Dutch Gouda. There is also a delicatessen with hot food to order and a huge freaking sushi bar!! You can even sit and enjoy your meal if you like. Oh and their bakery is awesome with all of their different types of breads and desserts. I now almost going to any other Kroger. The one in the Toco Hills shopping center on LaVista Road comes pretty close, but this one is still my favorite. I find something new every time I go in there. read more

Venue: I've dinner a lot of Krogering in my life and while this one is faaar from the worst, it could undergo some serious improvements. First of all, for a newer Kroger, some of the aisles are very small, creating a lot of unnecessary congestion. Secondly, and this is even more important, they repeatedly have an issue with not having enough cashiers to staff the self-checkout lanes. I love self-checkout, but whoa to you if you need assistance. I suggest trying to find them two or three aisles away. The last time, I found the lotioning her hands while shooting the shit with other employees. They really should get this under control. I recently abandoned ship and just walked away from my cart because of this frustrating experience. Third, I get great customer service from The Little Clinic, pharmacy, the bar, and even the cheese counter. The cashiers, though... Fourth, logistics can be hit and miss when it comes to stocking the aisles. I've yet to find a day when I know they'll have everything I need. Finally, I do not understand why prices for certain goods are so much higher than the Kroger on Moreland or Lindbergh. It makes zero sense. Verdict: In a city like ATL, convenience beats traffic, so I'll keep shopping here. I'd much prefer the Kroger on Moreland or the new Publix up the road, but this is literally next to my apartment complex, so........ I'll be back. read more

I have seen the services decline over the past year. An example is that the shopping carts are never full when the customer arrives. After going into the store to see non-many customers have to retrieve back to the parking lot and get their own. Maybe, the store could acknowledge the shortage of staff at the check out as well as support with the baskets and share it with the customer until such time suchconcerns are rectified. read more

The WiFi sucks if you sit outside under their patio. You can literally sit inside in the booths near the windows and get perfect WiFi but step outside the door by the window and you get spotty service. Had to end up using my hotspot. read more

For the second consecutive day, this store is understaffed. At 3:30pm today, there's only ONE open lane. I had one item, the other line that was open, closed as I approached. When asked, the cashier stated she was CLOSED. With school dismissing, parents and kids shopping, this is unacceptable. LINES SHOULD ONLY EXTEND THROUGH THE AISLE DURING THE THANKSGIVING SEASON. One of the reasons I prefer Kroger is that I tend to shop early in the morning, like before 6 AM, and this one isn't 24-hours like most in the area. So, that's not good. As for the store itself, it's nice. Very similar to the recently renovated Kroger on Dekalb Industrial and other larger Krogers. The names were many--"Not Walmart Kroger" was a leading contender at first, due to the neighborhood's valiant fight to prevent a Walmart from sullying the good name of Grant Park. Then came Krogzilla, GentrifiKroger, Cluster Kroger and the God awful "Miracle Kroger." But it's done, folks. It's KroBar. There are still some who resist, asking for a recall, hanging chads and whatnot. Sorry, the deed is done. It's KroBar. The name is at once descriptive, singular, and rolls off the tongue with a certain musicality. But why KroBar? There's a bar in there. In the Kroger. Wait, what? Yes, there's a beer and wine bar in there. Most glasses go for around $5 for wine, beer may run cheaper. They say they're dedicating themselves to local brews and, from the selection, they're holding up their end of the bargain. The wines seem to be a wide variety, but I'd like a better description than just "White - Kendall Jackson." I mean, Chardonnay? Pinot? Sav? C'mon people, varietals! I need to know the grapes involved! Yes, I know I'm drinking in a Kroger, but that doesn't mean I'm a damn animal. Jesus. And get somebody with better penmanship to write the booze selections on that chalkboard while you're at it! Ahem. Back to the store. Others have said it. It's huge. So far, it's clean and tidy, still has that new store smell. (We'll see what happens after 5 years of abuse by the toddler terrors Grant Park can unleash.) No, you can't buy a couch there, despite early rumors. You can, however, buy an entire bath towel set though. There is no dedicated health food section, unlike other Krogers. The organic and gluten free products are interspersed throughout the store. This sucks for people who prefer to just hit the one section and leave, but from a seller's standpoint, I understand. Just look for the big green signs in each aisle calling out "Natural Selections" and you should be able to find what you need. Usually. Until you get used to this place, it's still gonna be like playing the most boring RPG ever. "You've found the Applegate Farms chicken sausage! Level Up!" They really stepped up their prepared foods. There's a "Pan-Asian" food stall that really, kinda does a disservice to Panasia, wherever that is. I mean, the sushi is all right, but the ramen bowl and the stir fry is pretty much Panda Express. The pizza bar looked good, but I didn't have them. Same with the "artisan sandwiches." The burrito bar? While it's not quite there with Willy's or Chipotle, they'll do in a pinch and if you end up asking for "everything," the amount of food you get (for $5.99) will astound you. Anyway, it's all kind of a work in progress, but as with any corporate entity, they're way further along a week into it than you'd expect a mom and pop shop. Now, would I prefer something a bit more, say, homey? Personal? Something not exactly so monolithic in the 'hood, especially right off the Beltline? Sure. But take all that out of the equation and rating this as a Kroger in and of itself, it's not half bad. Four stars (for now.) read more

This Kroger is everything!! I personally never been in one that had everything and this one has everything. And not just everything but a lot of everything! My phone died but the pictures I took were only about a third of the entire store. You can basically get all the items on your list and when you're done, sit down and have a glass of wine or beer to toast up as successful shopping trip. There is food, there is wine and beer, there are household items, there is even furniture. There's a wine steward, a cigar counter, a large cheese counter, salad bar, sushi bar, burrito bar. You can get fresh food, frozen food, ready made food, the pots to cook it in, some plates to serve it on and anything else you may need. Also the selections of each are vast. You have a lot of choices for different flavors, sizes, brands. You have lots of options to explore and experiment. The store is huge and I'm pretty sure every time you go back, you will find more and more. It's new, it's clean, it wasn't too busy yet, everyone was friendly. Oh and there is a gas station. This Kroger is a win win. Now go and grab a beer for me! read more
