I wish I could give 0 stars. Don't order anything online ; it won't be ready. And the staff behind the counter could care less. I placed an online order at 1400 to be ready at 1430. It's 1500 and they tell me we are just making it :( . Like what happened to good service . This place cost too much to lack in service. Cool local neighborhood market that's walking distance to everything. The bonus about this market is it is open late. It's a little tight as it is nestled within a shopping center but it does provide a parking lot and accommodates going in and coming out for whatever you need. This location has quite a few homeless people that hang at the top of the entrance by a set of trees. They're harmless but there and not easy to view until you are actually among them. I would shop here again if I stayed nearby. read more

Since moving back to Atlanta in March 2022 in all the visits I have made after work, not one single time did they have rotisserie chicken available. There common statement is they stop making them at 4pm. So you make none during dinner time? They always have plenty of fried chicken for an unhealthy meal. But you cannot get a healthy option of rotisserie chicken. read more

I went into this Publix to get a sandwich. I stood on the line for over 40 mins. One person making sandwiches and another making online orders. Instead of stop making the online orders and help get the line down. WORST place to go and get a sandwich!!! They need to do better! read more

This Publix is always hit or miss, always one or the other and never in between. It's a considerably smaller store than your usual Publix, but they carry all of the essentials. First, I'll address the cluster-fuck they call a parking lot. Having 2 one way lanes makes this lot a zoo. It has taken me forever to find a spot at times. Some people think it's appropriate to pick-up and/or drop people off at the door when there is only a one way driving lane, blocking the entire lot. It can definitely make someone want to avoid this location. What makes this store hit or miss is the staff. When they are busy, the staff seems to be unfriendly along with not having enough registers open, creating longer than necessary lines. When the store is dead, I can be in and out in less than 5 minutes. There's a huge difference in the quality of service when they're dead. Also, there is always an Atlanta Police Officer or a Fulton County Sheriff's office deputy on duty at all times at this store. That does usually thwart the panhandlers outside, but occasionally one will slip through the cracks and ask. Overall, I don't love this store but I don't hate it either. It's average. read more

This is Publix store #776 and it's known as the "Publix at Piedmont." It's located at the corner of Piedmont and North Ave in a small shopping plaza it shares with Walgreens and Chase Bank. On North Ave, it's about equidistant (and not far from) Georgia Tech and Ponce City Market. This was my go-to grocery store for a period of time when I was a student at Tech, but now I rarely visit it. My girlfriend, however, has been a regular customer for the last few years as a resident in the neighborhood (Old Fourth Ward) so I've been "reintroduced" to the store. I believe this Publix opened in the early 2000s. This is one of the smaller and more compact Publix stores in the Atlanta area. Generally, the selection is standard/basic at best. As my girlfriend says, this Publix is "not representative of Publix," meaning it's not up to snuff. The shared parking lot is not very big, making spots difficult to find during peak times. The entry/exit points onto the lot are narrow, requiring some pretty tight turns, especially the access point at North Ave. I've seen near accidents and road rage incidents there on multiple occasions. You're likely to encounter panhandlers in the parking lot or just outside the store. The Peachtree-Pine homeless shelter used to operate nearby (1997-2017). My girlfriend said she never felt safe going to this Publix at night. read more

There were two older ladies at the deli line and when I tell you there was 2 other people in front me and I was in line for about 35 minutes. That is ridiculous. I love this Publix. It's a small store, but the employees are constantly restocking to keep up with the demand of this Downtown /Midtown neighborhood. The meat and bread selection can be sparse if you go after a rush, but otherwise the stock is never an issue for me and I always find what I need. I get a lot of fresh produce and meats here. It's downtown and a lot of places don't allow big backpacks and such, but I bring mine with me, empty for carrying groceries after checkout and I've never had a problem. The homeless population here is pretty big, but they don't harass me and they don't hang around the entrance and parking lot usually due to security presence. You can say no, it's just part of living downtown and I'm no way negatively affects my ability to shop here. The convenience of the location outweighs most else for me. This is a pretty good small neighborhood Publix. read more

On the decline. I've been shopping at this Publix since they first opened in 2001, but now I only visit when I need something I can't get at Trader Joe's, even though this store is in the same block as my home. Why? Because the employees are rude and disengaged. No greeting. No "did you find everything you needed?" And they throw my items in the bag with no thought at all. Seriously. Like, bread on the bottom then canned goods. Basic stuff. I don't need constant entertainment while I shop for groceries, but just a little appreciation for my business would be nice. Whenever I am in the south, I head to Publix. Why? Not to buy groceries but because they have the best subs. Way better than subway, Safeway, or jimmy Johns. The subs are a good size in quantity, and have tasty boar's head brand of meats. Plenty of cheeses to choose from as well. If you aren't too hungry then they will do a wrap for you. Go ahead and get the Italian sub, it's awesome! They have tons of toppings to choose from. While this location made my sandwich perfect, it was extremely slow service! read more

I live three blocks from this Publix so I have been their quiet a bit over the last two years. The prices aren't the best and they don't have coupons like that, but the location wins when you run out of something like milk or soap.. it's right down the street. The cashiers are always nice and friendly. The parking sucks. Y'all could really use some more parking spaces. And there's always a line driving in and out of the store. And it makes no sense why coming out of Publix; it's only a one way turn on both sides. There are people who come there that are left (think Century Skyline + Townhouse Atlanta) to Publix and turning to the right takes you on a loop some 10/15 minutes out the way (with all the lights + traffic). So back to today, my complaint is about the service where you order chicken from. I came in for some fried chicken for lunch, because the nearby Popeye's on Ponce de Leon wasn't serving any chicken for 20 minutes due to a "grease issue." While in line, a man *tried* to push past me and another man in line.. claiming he wanted to just "asking a question." And the store representative proceeded to help him before I spoke up. BUT I shouldn't have had to speak up. There is a line.. wait your turn. So my complaint is on the service and how can the store representative not say anything to the man and proceed to serve him anyway? Why wasn't she paying attention to who was in line? That's crazy! It makes me wonder how many times he's done that. Also, the store representative lost her plastic glove and I found it in my bag of chicken. read more

This is the closest publix to me . I never have an issue here . It's always fully stocked & clean . I'm in and out . I always order my subs online & they be perfect . Highly recommend this location ! I hate to do it, but this place is always so crowded that I am distracted and don't enjoy my shopping experience. Nothing is wrong with the store. It's clean, well stocked, nice staff. The fresh Fruit could look a little better...But the location to me, is what really makes this place suck. And there is such a huge difference when you come here and it's nice outside versus coming here when it's raining or cold and raining. Not that this is Publix's fault. The store itself is Wonderful! As always. But seeing the cops outside and trying to get in and out feeling safe is a issue for me at this location. If you're tight on time do not use their online pick up service for Deli. The staff is always behind on their orders. The Deli supervisor was very rude. It's not the customer's fault if your store is behind. Instead of the supervisor helping they was just in the back pointing fingers on what needs to be done. Shopping here is not a pleasure and I've decided I hate coming here. On my two most recent visits I pulled into the parking lot and left without getting out of my car. The last time I actually got out of the car I was confronted by a panhandler. I didn't have any cash, but I did have some hot McD's fries and I gave them to him. He had the nerve to tell me that the fries weren't enough to feed his baby. Huh?! Give me back my fries! Parking sucks. The store is small. Check-out is usually crowded. Absolutely the worst Publix I have ever been to in my life. The deli has the worst customer service. I love pub subs but coming here to get one is an absolute pain in the ass. Half the time they don't have all the ingredients that they need to make sandwiches or they close super early . With the exception of one or two employees most of the people behind the sandwich making station act like they are having to go out of their way to make your sandwich- and they are happy to make it known that you are inconveniencing them. Often times I will be standing there in a long line while one person is making sandwiches and the other people back there just look at us and continue to go about menial tasks until they feel like coming up and also making a sandwich. Sometimes there will be multiple ppl back there, I come up and I'm the only customer and they will still take their sweet time to decide they are ready to do their job. They don't care at all about making you wait, but god forbid you keep them waiting when they decide they are finally ready to help you. The only reason I come to this Publix is because I live right down the street. I have been coming here for over 5 years and this place has only gotten worse over time. Sometimes in the check out line you won't even be greeted or acknowledged, while they just randomly throw whatever wherever into the bags. Hrrrmm. I think grocery stores tell you a lot about the neighborhood that they are in if you look for subtle clues, and this one proves my theory. (Or is the basis of it.) This store was definitely built when this neighborhood was considered "ghetto" but you can tell that the yuppie tools like me are invading. There's usually security/Atlanta Police at the door, and the APD has a reserved rock star parking spot. But they usually ignore me and I them, so whatever. I think the produce section is abysmal and small, especially by the standards set at other Publix stores. (Never mind the giant rainbow of beautiful fruits and veggies that can be found at Whole Paycheck.) The deli section seems rather limited. I'm not sure they even do the famous Publix sandwiches. (I don't particularly care for the bread, so I've not asked.) On the other hand, they've got a section of froufrou cheeses and meats, the end of the dairy aisle is organic, they've got about 12' of shelf space dedicated to organic produce. Not all in the best shape, but it's there. And there's 45' - 60' of shelf space for hippie dry goods. The most important section, the wine section, is not bad. It's not going to impress any oenophile friends of yours, but I've always been able to find something serviceable for dinner or a BYOB party. They do block it off with shelves of other stuff on Sundays, which amuses me. The cashiers aren't super friendly, but I haven't had any that are rude. They're getting more used to people bringing their own cloth bags, and have stopped looking at me like I'm a two-headed zombie freak for not wanting to use those environmental terrors that are plastic t-shirt bags. read more

I absolutely love the employees at this Publix! Kelvin in the hot food section always comes to make my sub (in only the way he can) if I request him. The other employees remember you and always speak. Cashiers are always attentive and make non-annoying small talk. The homeless around haven't bothered me bc there's always police on duty...or at least when I go. 4 stars bc they don't carry some of the same things the other Publix locations do. Ex. I wanted lamb chops and the butcher said bc they only have 1 or 2 customers that request it, they don't carry it much. He directed me to the Publix on Ponce. Also, the parking lot can be kind of a hassle since it's basically a one way circle. It's also a little difficult getting out around rush hour. Tip: if you know how to work Publix BOGO (buy 1 get 1), you can save a lot of money! read more

I've gone to the deli at various times and it's always the same.....long line, one person trying to make sandwiches while 3 or 4 people are running around acting like their heads have been chopped off like chickens. HELP OUT for crying out loud! Then there is the, oh sorry, I'm gonna have to cut that meat for you............this in the middle of the day! Come on people, have some type of system in place to cut those wait times. This Publix is symbolic evidence of the "transitional" area in which it's located - Kristine M. says it best in her first paragraph! Homeless people roam the parking lot and the nearby streets, but there are always cop cars and security guards around, so I've never felt too concerned about leaving stuff in my car. The first few times I shopped here, I was a little surprised to find that the majority of the patrons are well-dressed yuppie types. Living in Midtown, I'm used to not even having men register on my radar since most that I see on a daily basis aren't exactly attracted to women, but the dudes at this Publix are kinda hot. And they're manly-men. I've come here before with a mental shopping list and left with half of what I intended to buy. This could be a result of the ridiculously terrible parking lot traffic messing with my head, the paranoia of my new car being vandalized, or maybe the fear of being towed out of the "15 minute only" parking spot, but I like to think it's because of the distraction caused by the sight of straight dudes out and about a mere mile from my condo! So, speaking of fresh meat, Publix's rotisserie chickens are pretty tasty, though they've been sold out on more than one occasion. It's not your biggest Publix, but it has all the essentials. Parking lot is a nightmare. During peak shopping hours (right after work), you'll spend more time in the parking lot than you will in the store. read more

This has to be the smallest Publix I have ever been in. The carts are not even big enough to do a decent run through let alone grab a quick lunch from the sandwich area. Not only is it too small but you either get hassled by the homeless people in the parking lot or the rental cop that looks at you like you're here to rob the place. Very friendly cashiers. I have noticed lately there are fewer and fewer panhandlers. The parking lot is typically very crowded. Lkewise the store is smaller than most Publix markets and can get crowded. If it weren't conveniently located and did not offer 2 for 1 specials, I probably wouldn't make my way here nearly as much. So far we've had nice cashiers, found the food we were looking for , and able to get in, and out fairly quickly. Although I do notice the lines tend to be long, I can usually get through the 10 items or less line, so I usually don't have to wait long or at all. So I give Publix 4 stars because many of the items are more expensive than other stores and the store seems kind of crowded-Due to the size of the building. read more

Very cramped and organization is lacking. As far as accessibility, ramp is out of the way. But the groceries have good variety and all your basics are covered. Produce could be bulked up, but the bakery is on point they also have great samples! We got to sample the chicken piccata. The deli is excellent with great options.
