So this was a pretty good Kroger. It was pretty standard, I mean it's not a whole lot that stood out but it was at least pretty well stocked and cleaned. Everybody was friendly, even saw me wandering around and they helped me find the aisle I was looking for. This is not my normal Kroger so I guess I needed a little bit of help LOL. But everything was good. And I would go back.

I like this Kroger store, and it's the one that I go to the most since the Kroger that was the closest to where I live was permanently closed. This one is much bigger, and has all of the full functioning departments found in all of the large Kroger stores, like meat (with a butcher), bakery, deli, seafood and pharmacy. Kroger is in the Georgetown Square Shopping Center, along with lots of small businesses. Parking is available in the free shared parking lot, but customers may not be able to park close to Kroger. Employees wear face masks, but not all customers wear them. While I was there, I thought two older women were going to duke it out because one of them decided that she didn't have to wear a face mask. Hand sanitizer is available at the doors as are antibacterial wipes to rid germs after other customers have touched the handles of carts and baskets. Employees will generally help you if you ask for assistance, although this may be a hit or miss depending on the employee's experience level. To me, it seems that a good amount of customers are always inside this store. I think that, because of this reason, this store is just about always well stocked, unless there is a national shortage of items. Produce looks fresh most of the time, and the employees are pretty good at removing items that have passed their expiration dates. Just a tip here, the meat department has a section where they have discounted unsold meat that is getting close to its expiration date (but they're still good and haven't yet reached its expiration date). Some of these are great bargains, but customers should cook them the same day they buy the meat. I've had medication prescriptions filled and refilled at this pharmacy. The pharmacy employees have been very helpful and courteous every time I've dropped off prescriptions or picked up meds, and they honor Good RX price discounts. Customers who have registered to get the Kroger Plus Shopper's Card are eligible to receive special discounts on select items, and customers who register at Kroger.com can get additional discounts online and through electronic coupons that can be used in the store. Prices are competitive, although, in my opinion, average prices at Kroger are just a little higher than Walmart and lower than Publix.

My friendly neighborhood Kroger. This Kroger happens to be the closest grocery store to my residence, so needless to say, they receive the majority of my business. Staff: The staff is usually always polite. I've had a run in with one or two people part of the late crew who were rude and probably were just ready to leave for the day, but that's still no way to act. No one really asks if you need any help, which I don't mind. I'm not necessarily trying to converse with every associate there, but they're available if you need assistance. Produce: This is the main issue I have with this Kroger. Every time I come in the store, produce is very low. I either have nothing at all to choose from or my choices are slim and have been picked over. There's might've been once when I came to this location and their produce stock was completely full. I'm not sure when they get trucks, but it feels odd that every time I go, they're low or out. This goes for all produce: fruits & veggies. Expect LONG LINES during power outages, hurricanes, snow days, or other pre-determined bad weather conditions by the meteorologist. If they indicate that you may want to stock up on food for a random snow week in Atlanta, get to Kroger immediately. I've waited in some lines so long that I thought I was at Disney World waiting for a ride. I mean, 30-45 minutes for self checkout. Lines for regular attendants would be backed all the way down regular grocery aisles. They need all hands on deck at these times! I need this Kroger to stay stocked up. They're the closest grocery store, so it's hard to give them business if they don't have much. It's also an inconvenience if I have to drive to another store for something that my Kroger location should have!

While I was picking out my snacks, I happened to glance up & saw the Deli menu displaying "Vegetarian & Vegan" Subs. Of course, I was taking advantage of this. Jae, the Deli employee took my order. Now, they do not have Vegan bread, not a worry. I was able to purchase my Vegan & Gluten Free bread for Jae to make my Turkey & Bacon Sub. Here's the awesome topping, I was refunded for my bread purchase...of course still charged for my Sub. The Vegan Sub ingredients include Lightlife SmartBacon strips, Unreal Roasted Turkey slices, Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Cheese, Publix's own Ranch Dressing & all the garden fixin's. Of course, I had to get Publix's signature Olive Oil & Vinegar mixture. I got everything except the Ranch Dressing as they were out of it. Jae even took the time to see if there was Ranch Dressing on the shelves. None, yet ok as I make my own from scratch. Jae's service was A+ & well appreciated. She cleaned the prep area & changed out her gloves twice while preparing my Sub. I'll be back for another one before the weekend is out...hello good carbs.

Unfortunately, after multiple conversations, nothing has changed. I've experienced several problems at this deli, but today's incident crossed the line from poor customer service into a potential food safety concern. While preparing my sub, the employee used the knife she had been spreading mayonnaise and mustard with and accidentally scraped it across the tomatoes. A large piece of tomato ended up on my sandwich. I immediately told her that I have a tomato allergy and could not eat anything that had come into contact with the tomatoes. Instead of remaking the sandwich, she simply removed the tomato and in the process smeared the Pitt off the tomato across the mayo, wiped it onto the sandwich paper that she then sat the bread on top of with tomato now on the outside of the sandwich... and still going to be used to wrap my food, and continued preparing the sub as if nothing had happened. Cross-contact with allergens is a serious issue, and simply removing the visible tomato does not make the sandwich safe for someone with an allergy. When I asked her to replace the paper and remake the sandwich, she responded with a noticeable attitude, as though my request was unreasonable. At that point, I told her not to worry about it and decided to take my business elsewhere. This isn't an isolated incident. I've consistently encountered employees at this deli who come across as dismissive, nonchalant, and unconcerned with customer service. I've already brought these issues to management on previous occasions because I believe in giving businesses the opportunity to improve before leaving public reviews. Unfortunately, the same attitudes and behaviors continue. Customer service can always be improved, but food safety--especially when it involves allergens--is not something that should ever be treated casually. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously before someone with a more severe allergy is harmed.

Every single time I shop here, the team is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. It never feels forced. It gets busy, people are trying to navigate the lot, and every now and then it feels like everyone forgot how to drive for a minute. But honestly, that's the least of my concerns. The parking is free, and once I'm inside, the experience more than makes up for any extra few minutes it might take to find a space. What keeps me coming back is the hospitality. Shopping for groceries may seem like a routine errand, but the people here make it feel a little more enjoyable every time. It's the kind of place where employees are happy to answer questions, help you find what you're looking for, and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I don't understand why management decided to have employees restock shelves during late morning on Saturday, but that's what happened today while I was shopping. Yes, I understand that it's currently difficult to find/hire employees, and having them do things while they're at work is important, but making an obstacle course of pallets that employees are moving while customers pushing full size shopping carts are trying to avoid running into the pallets is not fun. Obviously, this means that pallets were blocking part of the aisles, all this while Saturday morning shoppers were trying to do their things. Some of the produce wasn't fresh, like the soft cucumbers that were on sale, and many of the sweet onions were rejects since they had soft spots. All of the self service checkouts were open, but the lines at them were moving slow.
