I have had an excellent experience at this Dearborn Street Public Storage in Seattle. Tay, who works at the front desk, was very nice and incredibly helpful and she went out of her way to make sure all my needs were taken care of. She is an incredible employee and I would highly recommend this Dearborn Street Public Storage because of her. The place is clean and well maintained, as well, and I have always felt safe here any time of the day. Quick, easy and convenient. This place is super close to our apartment and has reasonable pricing for being in the city. They also have parking in the 1st floor of the building, so you never have to load or unload in the rain, snow, etc. it was also super easy to get in and out. read more

This property is clean and well managed. The staff is professional. That said, what the other guy said is true. They force you to buy their lock and their insurance. If you don't buy the insurance, they won't let you rent the space. I don't think this is legal and I am thinking of reporting them to the state AG. If you do rent, come with your own lock! read more

Staff has been incredibly rude every time I've interacted with them, absolutely zero information when I moved in, everything about this place is a hassle. If I hadn't already paid and moved in I would cancel and find somewhere else. I won't be using this facility again. read more

We had 2 units at this facility, which we rented for just about 7 months. From the initial lease up through vacating, the experience was good and professional. The staff keep a good eye on the open garage area during business hours, and the facility is secure upon closing. this location also had more generous hours then others I checked out - opening both earlier and closing later (this is also compared to other public storage facilities). The building is new, and everything is very clean and secure; that, along with an above average level of customer service (all their employees are very friendly and helpful, they even commiserated with me over the "one-time $25.00 administrative fee" or whatever it was called that Public Storage slaps you with when you first lease you unit) are about the best things that can be said about this place. It was conveniently located to where I was moving out of in downtown Seattle, and is also directly next door to a COLOSSAL Goodwill outlet (which can be a pro and a con; as an addict to thrift stores, it means I have somewhere very close to stash a lot of unnecessary purchases. Like an antique walnut credenza that I have no room for where I'm living.), but it's also a bit of a hike off the bus line. And there are A LOT of the terminally dispossessed in the area. Not surprising, considering they tore up half the Jungle (for those who aren't hip, it was THE bum camp of King County for many years. So many crackheads...) in order to build there. I don't typically have any beef with the chronically homeless, but these cats are the aggressive kind of crazy, and I always get a little excited whenever I have to walk through the area at night. The biggest complaint I have against this joint is it's hours of operation. WHO THE HELL CLOSES AT 7 P.M.?! Yeah, yeah, they're open 365.25 days out of the year, but that doesn't do me a bit of good if you're closed before I can get there after work. Also, I am not a fan of Public Storage advertising "FIRST MONTH FOR A $1.00!" when, in fact, it cost me over $75.00 to move in. They extort you into paying for an insurance policy (that should totally be at the renters discretion; if I don't feel like my stuff is valuable enough to worry about insuring it, I shouldn't have to pay an extra $11.00 a month minimum for their usurious insurance policy. Period), as well as making you pay for THEIR cylinder lock, even if you have your own padlock and don't want to bother paying an extra $15.00 for their dinky little thing. Then, just to show how little they give a shit about their clients, they slap you with the ubiquitous "administrative fee" of $25.00 when you sign your contract. Find another storage company. First month is $1 then you have to pay for the admission fee of $24 so the total amount for the first month is $25 not $1. Plus you have to pay for the locks. Good thing i got my own insurance. So I dont need to pay insurance. The place is very secure & clean. Nothing to worry about your stuff. Thank you Public Storage. Wishingy you can lower down the price of 5×10.. Prices have gone up dramatically. I pay 3x as much as I did just 2 years ago. Location is closed with no access on holidays or late evenings. Hard to find ladders to use. Usually being used by the homeless guy across from our unit. Every time we open our unit we find trash that has been thrown over the walls into it. Actively looking for a new storage location. read more

BEWARE!!! TOTALLY INFESTED!!! My storage unit & belongings became totally infested with thousands of nasty worms & bugs within a matter of months! Public Storage continues to deny this vile problem under its own roof and just ignores my calls & emails--even after seeing my photographs of its disgusting infestation. Public Storage's only response was--"tenants store at their OWN RISK"! Ultimately, if you're really thinking of using Public Storage--think again. I was very pleased with my first experience with Public Storage. I moved in on the 22nd. I was very stressed. I just needed my stuff moved quickly to a safe place in a timely manner. Devin was very helpful, respectful and exceeded my expectations taking time to explain everything I needed to know about my bill. He helped me choose what plan was right for me. Went in for the dollar rate and scammed up to $60 after all the fees. They say it is secure and demand insurance. Quote for 10x5 and it measures to less than 4 feet. Hours are not good if you need access during the week and you have a job. Had bad customer service across the board. Owner is a billionaire and has figured out the scam. Was going to move long term items here from Nickerson as it is closer but hell no. Go small and will never go public storage. read more

Thought we needed a huge storage space before we arrived and chose this location because prices were most reasonable. the building is newish and quite secure. there is a goodwill next door so we were able to down-size quite a bit. the front desk staff were uber helpful and the easy in and out parking garage all led to our 4 stars. wish they had 24-hour access and choice of lock system (had to buy a customized lock) but cant knock their service, clean spaces and rates for downtown Seattle. read more

Where to begin... The price, promised for one year increased 20% after 6 months; ...and yet again another 30% after another 6 months; garbage left by users is not cleaned by staff; when garbage is pointed out to the staff, they respond by smart-talk of "don't tell me how to do my job!"; some 10x10 units are 10x8 in reality (measure before you sign); periodically of the 3 elevators, of the 6 story-building, only one is working; hours of operation are only from 8am-7pm!!! The doors on dearborn st are periodically closed without any notice "due to staff shortage" they say - how is this my problem?!! and why am I forced to drive a truck because of this two blocks around?!! Garbage cannot be put in their on-site dumpsters - why?!! No notifications online or phone of the facility's closures - why?!! Is it so freakin' hard to record a message on the phone, or notify the corporate office? Oh, I see, IT IS the corporate office that hired you, [fill in with an explitive of your choice here]... Facility has been closed 4 days this week because of the snowflakes - again, I can get to the facility just fine - hire local people - I am paying for the storage to have a 7 day/week, 363 day/year access - if you cannot do that then reimburse me for the days you were closed, but no, we have to resort to small claims court! Fine, I keep all the records of your contractual misobligations: see you in court! read more
