Fast and friendly service with opening a new storage unit. Special thanks to Lisa for being so helpful and making sure all my questions and needs were answered and met. I rented an internal unit that has a 35.25 inch wide single door. If you have furniture that is wider, I recommend and external unit with the roll up type door. It's really nice that you can access the sites gate and doors using the mobile app. The app also work on elevators but the San Lorenzo property only has one level. You can also retrieve your personal gate/door code via on the app. Reserve online. Same price, but sometimes they have promotions with lower monthly rates. Different PS locations have slightly different rates. Some locations offer climate controlled storage for heat and humidity sensitive items. read more

My wife and I rented a 10x10 unit for about 3 months (we received our move-out receipt 3 days ago). Our experience was mainly positive. First off, Tristan provided good customer service (another reviewer refers to a man named "Christian," and I'm positive that he's really talking about Tristan). He was friendly, thorough, and eager to keep us as customers. We took advantage of a deal, but we were still charged a lot (the rent would have gone up in the near future, but we don't know by how much). Rental Fee: $162. Insurance: $15. (Total: $177/month.) The lock is $10, and it's yours to keep when you're done renting. I understand how helpful it can be, but you have to purchase insurance. You're not given a choice. Some moving supplies can be purchased (the office is small, but it's easy enough to move around). A sign suggests that you can borrow a platform dolly (moving cart) if you need one. My wife commented on all the cameras. From the office, the units are basically monitored on all these screens. The restroom is to the left of the office. I knew in advance (from reading some reviews) that rats have been an issue. A rodenticide bait pack was inside our unit, and a rat bait station was recently placed outside of it. Anyway, we didn't have any issues. The smell of the bait was noticeable, but not that strong. I laughed during an early visit because the way a car was positioned made it look like it had crashed into a unit. It's easy to get to the units. Our unit was in the very back, and it was interesting because that's where all the vehicles are stored. For example, there was a food truck, a small boat, and a truck with Marvel characters painted on it. I'm not docking for this, but no matter when we went, people were in our way during every visit but one (it was usually a little hard to exit, and we almost couldn't park in front of our unit during the next-to-last visit). Some people took their time, and some others seemed to be hanging out. A man had to move a hose and a bucket for us, and he and two other men were next to the same unit a week later (they were doing some kind of work). Another man on a bike (I saw him when we were driving here) met up with the others. I am a fan overall. I've had a great experience so far with this storage location in San Lorenzo. A special shout out to Carol (like Christmas Carol). She is awesome and most helpful at this site. Her knowledge and assistance with units and supplies along with remembering my family and greeting us with warmth definitely makes her stand out and easy to ask any question. I will be forever grateful for when she walked a dolly to the farthest corner of the site so I could borrow it. The hours at this location make it easier to access our items after getting out of work. I'm sure glad we moved our items from another storage facility. I am new since October2022. When I applied, there is no advance warning about increase rent on my space. It's not fair that I am stuck to pay the increase before I applied. I could have move my belongings before I get an increased. Today is March30. I did not received a letter of increased. It was mailed today of increase spare rent. Signed up today for a 5x10 unit, first floor indoor. The space was old and not lit but the hallway had enough light to see in. Might get me a battery operated light when I actually move the stuff in. Alice was a super great help in letting me see my unit, talking about insurance, rate increases + frequencies. Even shared that they had push carts for us to use as needed so we didn't have to lug stuff from the car to the unit. Overall gave me a great vibe about booking, so I completed the online hold I made in person. Super seamless process. Will update my review in a few months time with how using it works out. read more

Do not choose to rent from this place they are infested with rats and place responsibility for customers to clean up rat drippings when the infestation is not a renter problem. Received a phone call in regards to renting status, My disabled Son was late getting out of unit packing for a fishing trip. The Manager called the next day and intimidated Us for the third time(Once He forgot the key). My experience has not been good with Her. She has an attitude that is very displeasing. She stated We would have to kick You out if this happens again. I explained My Son disability and I notified Her I would ensure He was aware this rule. However the sad thing is She lacks customer service skills, and seems to lack leadership skills too. Felt extremely bullied for the third time, and intimidated. Retaliation is also frowned upon. I would be very cautious leaving your stuff at this pubic storage facility. I recently had a few items stolen from a unit that I was renting. Someone cut into my lock that the facility sold me and recommended. After the thief(s) took the items they locked the unit with their own lock. The day I found out I asked the employee to open the unit, but she mentioned that only the district manager could open the storage unit. She called the district manager multiple times and left a message with no response at all the whole day. I was not about to leave my stuff another night so I had to call a locksmith to unlock the unit which cost me $65. I do have insurance and I'm hoping it will cover most of the loss, but this has been a horrible experience and there's not much survailance at this facility. Rent at your own risk! read more

I have had my unit for years and it is way to expensive! I know rent increases but this is insane. Also, for all the money they collect you would think they would have a dumpster and recycling bin; you have to lug out anything you remove. I found mouse poop in some boxes and when there was a leak and it got my stuff wet I had to go through the insurance which didn't cover the damage because I didn't have the receipts from 10+ years ago. As a customer here(not sure how much longer)and a victim of unit break in, the response I received was a voice message. After returning the call, I never received a call back. After coming in person, I was told that only the district manager was the only one who could cut the foreign lock that these thieves put on after cutting the original locks. As you cannot give a negative star rating, they don't even deserve the 1 star. You may see other reviews and see I'm not the only one to experience this unfortunate ordeal. LOOK ELSEWHERE. As you see it has 2 stars, it should be with the businesses with 1 star. Walk arounds are ineffective as the crooks know when you do it and that's not when they do their dirty work anyways. Had to help someone move so I was shopping around different storage places for them in the area. A safe and affordable location that wasn't too far from the new place. I was getting a bit of a headache from the frustration plus no one was being of much help until I met Cody at this public storage. She is so sweet and professional and more help than I could ask for. I'm sad to have to write this review about this location and give a bad review. I have been renting from this location for more the 3 years I finally was able to get to the point where no longer needed to store here any more. I had to throw way a lot of my things because they got ruined by rats I complain one time they said there is nothing they can do about it. Finally last month was going to be my last month I worked hard to get the unit all empty before the 30th of April so I would not have to pay for a mother month. April was a very busy month for me with work, moved from an apartment to a house and my daughters wedding at the end of April and family flying in from back east for the wedding. With all of this going on I manage to empty my public storage unit. The wedding was on the 27th and I forgot to take the lock of the unit on the 30th of April. In fact it was until the first of may when I realized that I had forgotten the problem was I was in LA and wound not be back until the 4th of may. I call the office and explained what had happen and asked if they could just charge me the for the extra few days even before I had finish talking the answer was no you have to pay the whole month because you did not take the lock off the unit on the 30th of April. I explained to them that I realized that all I'm asking is for them to be human and not charge me $ 391 for the empty space for the whole month. The answer was no we don't prorate. I ask to talk to the regional manager it took me a few days to get a hold of her because I was given the wrong phone but final I talk to the regional manager told her what happen I told her I know I forgot but I'm asking for mercy I even offer to pay half month the answer was the same we don't prorate its month to month. I asked if they could look as a case by case she said no it would not be fair. The conversation end that she would ask if I could pay just half a month and would get back to me. after 3 days she has not call me back and today 5/10/19 is the last day for me to pay with out getting a late charge. So yes I paid $ 391.00 for any empty unit because I forgot to take a lock of the unit. you would think that after renting from then for more then 3 years that they would be willing to work with you and show that indeed that care about there customers. Do you think that if I ever need in the future to rent another storage place that I will go back to them never again they have lost me for ever as a customer and I would not recommend or will ever recommend any one to rent from them. Im just disappointed that after being a good renter for more then 3 years that they would not find the time of the day to work out something everything is money our days we have lost the human side of things. They are the worst place to put your stuff on. The Manager or the worker who works there will be rude to you when it comes to money and paying. So my story is that I wasn't planning to do the third month and I came before the last day to take out my stuff and that lady who works there didn't explain to me that I needed to gave her the lock and charged me for a whole month again. These people don't even care to explain to you about the paying and how much u have to pay. They didn't even call me or let me know about that I'll be charged for another month. I swear to god one day I went there by myself and this homeless guy entered the gate I was shocked how dose he have the code and he was staring at me in a really weird way. I had to leave so my car was parked I didn't leave yet because I was on my phone looking for the map and he was walking towards me. On Sept 2 I went to my storage unit, first time in 6 months, which is normal for me. MY STUFF HAD BEEN FLOODED in February and NOBODY CALLED ME. The young lady site manager is nice enough, and helpful, but the district manager Jose is responsible for handling such problems. At least 3 inches of water in my unit, I know this because when I opened a plastic case on the floor with a 3" lip, there was still and inch of water, 6 months after the flood. They decided the water couldn't possibly have traveled from the leak all the way to my unit so didn't bother to call me, but DUH everybody knows water goes to the lowest point,and that corridor is clearly on a slant. Jose the district manager was completely unwilling to talk to me about compensation for his incompetence. Sure, I have insurance, but the mistake was his and his alone, and he owes me compensation for his incompetence and negligence.
