They claim they are competitive based on local rates, they are just sticking it to me now that they know I don't want to move all my stuff again. It happened during business hours...30 mins before arriving to take it out for a trip in the morning hours. would not recommend this facility if you're looking to store anything of serious value. I got a good initial price on my storage shed, two years later the price doubled. So I got another good initial price on a larger shed and moved my stuff to the larger cheaper one. Next year I will probably have to change again when they double the price again. read more

I really appreciate these guys' great service. I've had a tough run with doing business with corporations as of late. With my old apartment complex charging me a full month's rent when they should have only pulled 3 days from my account and then taking months to get me my money back, all while claiming no fault or error on their part. To Uhaul charging me for damages to their truck with zero contact or notification, they waited until I saw the large withdrawal to my account and I called them to dispute. The first record of damages on their account was 9 days after I returned the truck and they're on their own records lying on atleast 2 occasions. The whole process was like pulling teeth and I was still put $400, due to just giving up from the exhausting process. Public Storage has actually been quite refreshing to do business with! Their systems are quick and easy to navigate, including signing up and renting online and texting me gate info prior to my rental date. One time my auto-pay bugged out and they actually called me on the telephone to notify me that there was a problem and I was able to simply go to their website to fix the issue and pay manually without any fuss at all and fix the quick and easy problem before it snowballed into an expensive and frustrating issue, like some other companies would have allowed! Navigating doing business with Public Storage has been a delight. The prices are getting a bit expensive, hense the 4 stars instead of 5. The service, so far, has been what's keeping me from moving my stuff. Thank you Public Storage and the kind and courteous staff of this property! I appreciate you guys! read more

I'm doing this review from the storage auction angle, as a unit winner. I'm fairly new in the business, but I was disappointed when I was not given an access code to the gates of this storage unit. I was only allowed to be manually buzzed in by the floating substitute Tracy. It also meant that instead of having access from 6 AM to 9 PM. I only had access during business hours of 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. I did the best that I could, and made several trips in and out of the facility during my 48 hour move out time. Towards the middle of the second day, I reached out to Tracy to see when her lunch was so I can coordinate my time not to interrupt her lunch. She replied by saying she had things to do around the property and didn't have the time to keep opening the gate for me. I told her it was difficult without the code and access after 5 PM or before 9:30 AM. She says "that's why most people rent a truck-and then they're just in and out. They're not going back and forth in itty bitty cars" I have a Ford Flex. I feel like that was an unfair judgment and I should be able to access the unit as often as I needed to until it was empty. Although the light in the unit didn't work, we were able to use our headlights so we could sweep out the unit just before closing on that day. I walked into the office and let her know/showed pictures that everything was cleaned out, and Tracy seemed relieved. I would purchase an auction unit from them again, but I would be cautious as to the time of year and who is working. Twice, throughout my time there, I noticed Tracy giving excellent customer service to potential renters as I was waiting for gate access. So her treatment of me made me feel like she didn't value me as a future customer. Like I was just there to clean out a unit. read more

Was told at one point if I gave a good review they would help me out if I ever needed it. Lost my debt card and asked them to wave my late fee. NOPE! couldn't do it. If I hadn't been living out of state I would have moved out years ago before I paid that ridiculous price per month. Zero Stars. Complete Garbage. Sneaky company. Typical bait and switch. Hooks you with a low intro rate for a couple months then they automatically and significantly hike the rate up per month almost every month thereafter. They know you won't have the time or willingness to move all your stuff again after the rate hike because you just moved it in! Lol genius opportunity entrapment. They don't accept most insurances so they hook you on their insurance which if you look at fine details, it's complete trash coverage and is just their to capitalize on your monthly rate and only protect company from liabilities (I.e. you!). Oh! And they don't prorate the month you move in or the month you move out! Sneaky snakes they are! Go to mom and pop storage if you can. read more

Great location, they had a clean place with lots of units that face parking, so it's easy to load and unload. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Jane who processed my check-in and showed me alternative units should I need them... They have all of the packing things anybody could want and I would use this place again if I needed storage. read more

Horrible! The ladies at the 3600 E Valley location in Renton, WA are CONS! They told me the $1 move in deal was available, and I made reservations online, before I loaded up my house in another state and drove a 26ft uhaul truck down there when I moved here from out of state. When I was almost there and driving the 26 ft uHaul truck up I5, they called and said they were closing 2 hours early and I would have to come back the next day. I had to find overnight parking for a 26 foot uhaul truck!!!!! The next day, I drove down there and they told me the $1 move-in special wasn't available anymore. So I HAD to choose another option. This all happened back in January- and now 7/8/13, they still have the signs up for this $1 move-in deal. They told me that my pricing would be be better in the long run, because the $1 move-in special had a higher monthly fee after the first month. So after 6 months I'd actually start saving money on my storage. Guess what, it is almost to the 6 month mark and I just got a notice that my price is going up from $133 for my 10x15 plus all the extras to $155 plus all the extras on August 1st. So much for saving money! They are liars and thieves at the renton location. Oh, and I submitted a formal complaint on the customer satisfaction survey, and never heard anything back- like they didn't care. I will be moving before Aug 1st.!!!!! Ahhhh boo hoo to the reviewer who could not find parkingfor her U-haul. Today marks a year I have had a storage unit at this PS early on I had an incident where I locked the unit but it was not latched, so the unit could be opened. Sue, took her POV and parked in front of the unit to where it could not be accessed by anyone and kept it there until I was able to get back to the unit. Sue took a personnel interest in ensuring my belongings were secure. Stay away! Our storage unit was broken into less than a month into renting it. The management stated that if they had upgraded their security like they had said they were doing, it never would have happened. Then they refused to refund the current month even though we indicated we intended to vacate because it happened right after we paid. Don't let this happen to you!!! read more

Scoundrels. When I was deploying to Afghanistan and my wife and I decided to leave our car at Public Storage in Renton. We reserved the space online for $68/month. My wife dropped the car off in a hurry on her way to the airport and the administrative staff at this location pulled a bait-and-switch and had her sign a contract for $93/month. Halfway through my deployment they raised the rate to $110/month. Long term rentals are supposed to be cheaper! There was nothing about rate hikes at 6 months when we initially signed up or dropped the car off. Absolute scoundrels, stay away! read more

I have rented with Public Storage and other storage facilities out of necessity after other moves in the past and it was fine. This experience was really memorable as the manager went out of his way to get me a great spot at a great price after a particularly stressful move (moving is stressful enough- this was particularly stressful!!). He was kind, helpful, accommodating and truly went out of his way. It was a bit of a trek from Downtown where I was living, but so worth it!!! I would recommend this location to anyone looking for storage anywhere in the seattle area! And its like two blocks from IKEA so on the way out it's super easy to get some new needed items for your apartment!! read more

I was able to drive right up to my unit (5x10) in a truck towing a U-haul trailer +Facility seems new and generally in good condition Could be better: -During the initial sign up process, they kept trying to sell me moving stuff that I didn't need. Understand that the bosses probably tell the front desk to do this, but it was a little much. -Was not aware I had to buy my own lock ($20, can't use an off the shelf lock). This might have been in the fine print. Tips: *You don't need their renter's insurance, you can use your own. You do need renters insurance to sign up; I already had a policy through Geico but didn't have any proof at the time to show them. So I signed up for theirs and canceled online when I got home. read more

Had a great experience getting a storage unit here! - easy to reserve online (and got a deal that saved me money) and schedule appointment to set up rental - convenient location - Janet was really friendly, helpful and informative, let me know about additional products without making me feel like I was being pushed. Went over each piece of paper with me so I knew exactly what was going on. - the size I needed was available, I knew what I needed for my stuff, but Janet and the website had helpful references to ensure I wasn't getting a space too big or too small (in case I wasn't sure) - she put my gate code and other pertinent info in a couple of places so that I was less likely to misplace them and let me know that the staff at the desk could retrieve my gate code for me, and my unit # if I needed either. - driving up to the storage unit is awesome -if I had to suggest any improvements, it would be those concave mirrors that help you look around the corners at the ends of the aisles of the lot, another driver came flying through one time and one of those mirrors would provide a helpful heads up. That was only one driver, one time, out of the handful of experiences I've had there so far. read more

I appreciated Angela's professional attitude, especially as I was a witness to someone coming in with a late payment and trying to argue with her.
