I was originally very disappointed by their false advertising. I had made an online registration and received confirmation that the total out of pocket cost on my move in day would be 25 dollars. I also received a call that confirmed that I would be paying 25 dollars that day. After I went through the whole thing of coming down and getting my unit my total out of pocket cost was actually closer to 60 dollars. However after my review I got a call from the district manager asking to make it right and credited me the 30 dollars that I was charged. I appreciate the call and effort to take care of customers. I rented a unit and asked for the first floor. They gave me one in the basement. I refused the unit and they refused to give the set up fee back. $30. Also if you vacate it early they still charge until the end of the month but can rent it to someone else before then. Unethical practices. Price tripled in four months on old unit. UPDATE The lot was cleaned extremely well - I know this because I basically had to drive through the entire place to get to my unit in the far back. One of the employees here had a conversation with me a while back about how long I would be renting there and I gave him a specific date. I emptied the unit the night before thinking I'll just contact them tomorrow or whenever and close my account. Well ladies and gents, THEY CALLED ME! Storage facility is great but company raised my monthly rent by nearly 40% six months after moving in all my stuff. Felt it was a very dishonest practice to raise rates that much after 6 months of occupancy. Will be finding another storage rental facility soon that doesn't have dishonest/deceptive business practices. read more

There were a couple hiccups in the process, but the excellent customer service exceeded my expectations. One small issue was that they didn't have the size I reserved. The plus side was that they upgraded me to a larger unit, which upon inspection, I needed anyway. The other issue was that I then needed two (?) locks for my one unit. Considering the only locks they allow are about $20, this was a little set back. I also wasn't expecting to pay monthly insurance. But over all I am totally satisfied with the unit, location and staff. read more

I moved in my stuff to a very large unit and it had a great price, then I get an increase a few months later and then again and then again. I'm paying $70 more than when I made my first monthly payment. I could have another car right now. It's not like I can just up and move my stuff due to my situation. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of and once I'm able to get my stuff out I'll never use the company again. I don't know why it says I'm in CA, but no matter, the company sucks. read more

Service is great, Ana the manager took good care of me, but their maintenance on their property is real bad. I rented a 10 x10 unit that had the bottom door seal completed rotted and hanging off the bottom of the door, I have 10 inches of a door seal on a 8 foot door. In Phoenix with all the dust, you need a good door seal to keep the weather and dust out of the units. The most disturbing maintenance issue is that over 90% of the exterior lights on the property are either burnt out or not working. I was moving in my stuff after sunset and I was in complete darkness. This is extremely unsafe and does not help with security concerns. I was told that corporate is aware of the problem and they are working on a solution! Really Corporate? It is call buying new light bulbs and screwing them in. I am very unhappy that this company doesn't seem to take complete darkness on their property as a big enough problem for them to make a more serious and timely effort to replace light bulbs or light fixtures to correct this serious problem. read more

Haylee with Public Storage is amazing to work with! We have been with this Public Storage facility in Ahwatukee for 23 years, believe it or not. Recently, we needed a lot of help with our unit and we needed it fast. Haylee to the rescue! We had lost our keys to our unit and they were nowhere to be found. Haylee advised us that we had several options. With her help, we decided on hiring the locksmith she recommended and 1 hour later we were able to access what we needed from our unit. Haylee was so nice to work with, so personable and professional and so responsive. In addition to hiring top notch pros like Haylee, the Ahwatukee Chandler Blvd. Public Storage offers nice, clean air conditioned units with plenty of security, both inside the facility buildings and in the parking lot, too. The entire facility is kept neat, clean and organized. We are fans of this Public Storage and especially of Haylee! read more

I can't say I had a good experience here at all. About 3 days after putting my things in storage here someone cut the lock off my unit and helped themselves to a lot of my things. The only security they have is to see who drives into or out of the gate. No cameras anywhere else to see who is breaking into units and stealing your belongings. So depending on how much you value your things this may or may not be the ideal storage unit for you. read more

The best storage place in Ahwatukee hands down! We  love the convenient, clean and safe location of this Public Storage. We must not be alone because we were put on a waiting list for a larger unit. When one became available, Kayla, the incredible manager, contacted us iimmediately and was very helpful in getting us in. It's super easy to get things in and out of units with the carts they provide and employees truly know what customer service is! I was impressed to see that some people even rent multiple units. We called Memorial day weekend to find out prices of storage units and they were having a special going on that weekend. However, I could not make it in that weekend so they reserved a unit for me and extended the offer until the next weekend. When we went in yesterday, Juan helped us and was extremely nice and helpful. He was more than willing to accommodate us and our requests. Public storage offers specials occasionally and I asked about how rates would change after the timing of the special. No one wants to be surprised by a huge rate increase. I was told that the rate would increase once a year and only by the cost of living (3-5%). My rates have more than TRIPLED!! This also happened to a friend of mind. Don't rent here unless you are prepared for huge increases from their "special" rates. read more

Don't bother with this public storage. Poor service, difficult to find anybody in the office. High price no climate control. Strong urine smell. Poorly designed entrance and exit. Leaves and dirt throughout property and in rental. Bad bad bad. Prices seem cheap till they add insurance other add-ons read the contract no refunds. By far this has been one now the worst businesses I have worked with. My husband and I have never been treated so unprofessional in my life. We went to close our storage and pay our month off and begin taking stuff out. The new worker there proceeded to be rude and actually began arguing with my husband in feontnif our child and friend. So all that i am sayi g was witnesses. We were one month late so they decided to auction our unit off without notice after that altercation. The GM of Public Storage called us so we could resolve this he did not reach me so I called back and have yet to be contacted again. I went to public storage on warner/kyerene first. Jen the property manager, explained all info showed me the 5x10 and 10x10 units. Jen also referred me to the insurance available I could get from her right there. Jen was very very nice and patient with me. Jen show me merchandise I could buy there to help me with my move.jen sold me a box for my mirror which made me very happy. I went to public storage online and made a reservation at east chandler blvd. Because it's closer to me. Kelly prossesed my reservation. Kelly, checked other public storages to find me a 5x10 unit because she didn't have an outside 5x10. Nobody had one so she set me up with an inside 5x10. Kelly was very very helpful. I will not rent a storage unit with Public Storage again. I spent a lot of my valuable time making a reservation on-line, which was to include a 15% discount on the monthly rate, but when I arrived at this location the next day, the relief mgr could not find my reservation. So of course, she would not give me the rate that I had reserved because I did not bring my confirmation number with me. I have sent 2 emails to Public Storage and have not heard back from them at all. I just called their 800# for Customer Service and they are referring me to call the District Manager! It's not a good idea to rent any units from this location when you are met by a very unhappy and angry company representative disguised as the property manager.
