Showed up to put a large chair and ottoman in our unit, needed to use one of the offered carts... no body on site working. Doors locked, bo one answers the phone.. so we say okay.. we'll find a way. Head over to our building and the service elevator is "out of order" and not only did we not get any email or notification prior to driving all the way to the location, there's no further comment on how long it'll be out of order. had to drive all the way back home with the giant set still in my car and no answers on how long it'll be until we can try again or if they'll have someone staffed on property to lend out the carts. I reserved a unit online as the office never seems to be open. Website shows different prices on different devices, not sure how that works just yet. Once received my reservation date I got my access code. I show up to the property to my access code not working prompting me to see a manager. The office is not open and any contact numbers leads me to a voice mail that has not yet been replied to. Yesterday was my only day off to handle what I need, I will now be days behind schedule. Currently looking how to refund this whole process. read more

Terrible Customer Service. I booked two different days to come into the Office and see a Unit before I finalized my contract. Had to book the second time because no one showed up to complete my reservation the first time, but I decided to give them another chance... They called after I reserved dates and they ensured someone would be there to meet me and assist with any questions I had and/or show me around the facility. They actually called every day to ensure I would be there at our scheduled reservation time and ensure I was still interested in the Unit. Every day for (2) Weeks... Both reservations dates, I showed up to the Office only to be stood up with the Office door locked and no response from the Office Manager or Customer Service. From move in to move out I had no issues at all with this facility. I was originally worried because there is no 24 hour on site management but I never had an issue with my unit being bothered by people trying to break in or anything like that. I have no complaints about any of the staff. The manager and everyone I've seen that works here at this property is always friendly and smiling and happy to help solve any issues and answer any questions you may have. He made the process very smooth, explained all the features the app would give us, showed us how to use the gate key, and showed us the space we would be renting. my name is amadna garcia. my unit #313 was broken into, upon me calling the ontario airport location (luis office manager @ 4 pm. only then was i notified that my unit was broken into! i never once was notified if break in, the poor excuse given by luis the on site manager, " i wanted to get all information"? unacceptable excuse!!!!! ! not allowed to phone police nor record the shady minimal camera surveillance! as per "end of the day"! yet, after realizing my fathers cremated remains were missing (encased in a smaller rectangular full gold inscribed box) luis claims he has no cameras facing the units , outside and or any idea who broke in! this clearly is an inside job! upon phonig your auburn, alabama call center, andre (who refused his last name. an initial or employee number. "andre" the supposed call center site manager, only have a name of "drew" as the district manager, after i asked a multitude of times for his superior! and met with the same response "i don't have to disclose his last name, initial, employee badge #, or immediate contact #. (as i stated again & again this is of time sensitive nature! to no avail! initially upon phoning, i spoke with a csr "julie". who claims to have taken notes as to the theft of my belongings and the suspected inside job, and requested $100 cash to remove all belongings quietly tomorrow thursday. as the local on- site manger luis claims he won't have office open till thursday 5/25/23. my greatest loss is the cremated remains of my father, among other personal effects! i ask someone in corp call me immediately! there is zero level of security and a false sense of your items being safe & you are leaving yourself open to an easy theft! these people do not contact police , self serving liars! they also claim a recent acquisition of "life storage" and if run the same, jump ship or never go there! lies of security, they take zero accountability! and above all there is no direct line to live person for superior help! thank you for complete and utter lack of professionalism ! one star required as to post review!i DISGUSTED read more

I didn't even have a chance to be a customer here. I made my reservation for move-in online the day before and had considered just completing the process, but wanted to come see the unit first and talk to the staff as this is my first time needing a storage unit. They even called me in the morning to confirm the reservation and said they were open that day from 9:30am - 5pm. We showed up at 1:40pm to a locked door and no response. There was no sign on the door or any indication of why they were gone or when they would return. I tried to call and got the voicemail. We also called a different number and spoke to someone who was not actually at the location and was not very helpful. He suggested we just complete the rental process online. I'm just grateful that we were just securing the unit and not showing up with a truck full of our stuff. We ended up going to a different storage facility just up the street that is very nice and received amazing service. read more

Please let me be clear; this is a review specifically regarding the Grove location and my experience with Customer Service via phone and chat. I have another unit at the Hermosa location and they are the absolute best. This review is not tied to the Hermosa location nor the agents there. With that being said; It was brought to my attention that Grove stayed open later and had a bigger unit available. Its closed to my home so I booked it. The experience was terrible. The day I went to move in I found 2 bugs in front of my unit. I killed one and the other one got away. This was before I opened the unit. I entered the unit and the unit itself was extremely dirty - the floor and the walls were disgusting. I quickly saw that the neighbors mattress was leaning over into my unit and a huge space was open between the units and the ceiling. I glanced at the walls and a bunch of the neighbors stuff was literally falling into my unit from their side. I still assume that this type of open space, if not that exact unit, is where the bugs came from. Either way, I told the management and they offered to move me to another unit. I asked if it had the same space between units, walls and ceiling and they said all the units did. I rejected their offer and explained the bugs and the dirty unit and advised that I didn't want the unit. They said I would have to wait til the end of the month to term the agreement but I "don't have to move in." I advised that I hadn't moved in and they advised nothing could be done and referred me to customer support for further assistance. I chatted in to support and the agent who helped via the chat was super rude. I asked for specifics and they advised they didn't have to give me those details. I asked to file a complaint, separately to submit pictures and separately requested some sort of transaction or agent ID number and they advised they couldn't help with any of that nor supply any details I requested. The chat was literally a waste of time and the agent was rude. I called in and got hung up on twice (without ever speaking to someone) before somebody actually talked to me. The agent who did talk to me told me I would have to work with the manager on site. I advised what happened and they advised they couldn't help but the site manager could. I went back to the site and they advised nothing could be done. I got jacked for a months rental that I never used. This is frustruating. On the completely other hand, Hermosa doesn't have those walls, dirtyness nor space issues. I can confirm this because I've had my unit there over 3 years and even as a 3 year tenured customer, Public Storage absolutely told me "too bad." Stay away from Grove. Go to Hermosa. read more

This place is trash. If I could go lower with the rating I would. They advertised $100 a month with no crazy fees. It was about $250 when I signed up. I stored my suits in there as I don't wear them everyday. I tried picking it up 2 days in a row and I wasn't able to access the building it was in due to some maintenance reason. I tried asking the person on duty what the situation was and was no where to be found. I called a few times with no answer. This exact same thing happened the 2nd day. They are now raising the rate to $140. Today is January 31st and I was locked out the front gate. Why am I paying for storage when I can't get to my things. I'm looking forward to ending my agreement with them. Have they reached out to me ? Offered me a discount ? Apologized ? Nope. Just raised my rate. Public storage, you guys are trash. read more

They've increased rent every other year. Elevator is out of service more often than not. They added electronic doors to access the second floor but they didn't work for a couple weeks and you couldn't access the stairs with out the office manager present to open another door. read more

Rented a storage unit here for a couple of years and never had any problems with the staff or the unit. There is an elevator for upstairs units to move the heavier storage items which is nice. Overall, the complex is clean, but the doors to the inside units are a bit flimsy. Up-keep, maintenance-wise, is so-so. The floor of our unit was busted up plywood (board) and the "handle" on the door of the unit was about to fall off. Someone could have easily smacked it hard enough and entered our unit. Finally decided to move to another storage company due to those factors. read more

Moved in on a Saturday and by 8am on Monday, our interior unit had been broken into. Everything with the tiniest bit of value was gone. We walked the hall and found several more units pried open. I have been here for about a year now, and it's always been a spotless property! And I haven't noticed any undesirables hanging about which is important to me since I am a woman. Louise is always around and I appreciate that she isn't an absent manager! She always answers my questions in a very helpful manner and is attentive to your needs. Last month I actually moved to a new home and she helped me find the perfect smaller size, showing me multiple units, to rent for the belongings I wasn't able to take with me! I just called to speak to someone about the poor customer service I received yesterday on 01.15.2019. The original lady that called me was so beyond rude and so strong arm about assessing a late fee to my account for being 11 dollars short due to an increase on the storage unit I had. I tried to explain to her it's unethical to charge a 20 dollar late fee for being 11 dollars short for an increase on rent, while doing so, she kept interrupting me and would not give me the options to speak and also not wanting to work with me to waive the late fee stating they once it's in three system I'm out of luck. I called today to speak to someone regarding the matter and a lady by the name of Jessica answered the phone and OH MY GOODNESS what a change of bed side manner!! Jessica was so beyond helpful and truth be told I wanted to offer her a job over the phone she was THAT good! Public Storage Ontario should be glad they have this girl working there! The location of the facility and size of the units are good. Some are located with outdoor access. There is a freight elevator. Front showroom is shiny, restrooms are not terribly clean. Reserved online but the salesperson kept trying to get us into other units. He ended-up wasting so much of our time that we could not complete our reservation process that day and we ended-up losing the significant online discount. It was a huge customer service issue but he just told us that was the way it was. Finally found a room that would work for us and took it because we were up against the wall on our truck rental, but i would not use this facility again. read more

***RENTER BEWARE*** This location is very negligent when it comes to security! It is not if, but when your space gets broken into management will do everything to not have to deal with you. I called and emailed Rick Janson almost every day for nearly 7 weeks before another manager from a different area called me just to tell me how busy Rick was. When Rick finally called me back he had every excuse he could possibly think of into why he couldn't call me earlier. It took him 7 weeks just to tell me I was screwed and there was nothing he could do. Before I started renting here I asked about their security and cameras through out the building. They told me they had cameras, so if anything happens they can look back to see what happen. My space was inside the building, so I felt that it was relatively safe, especially since you need a code to go inside. My space was broken into 5 months after renting from PS, I then asked about the cameras and the front desk girls tell me "we don't have cameras near your space" and that there is nothing they can do. They also said it sounds like it was another renter that could have done it since they had the code to get in. The front desk girls literally did nothing to help my wife and I. They handed me a brochure about the insurance and brushed me off. This company is a complete joke and their management sucks!! No one should rent space here! read more
