The unit is clean and the grounds are clean. The front desk lady is a wealth of public storage knowledge rules regulations and policies. She goes out of her way to help we have seen her go above and beyond for every customer. We would recommend this place because of her customer service alone. read more

Horrible experience! Do not store anything you care about at the Public Storage on Bowie Rd. I had a unit there for about 6 years and the prices went up and I kept paying. I went to get some items out only to find the unit next to me had taken down the wall and stolen most of my stuff. I called the office no answer left a message. Started walking towards the office and they jumped in their car and rolled out. It's been two days now. I have a police report but still no one has returned my call from the office. The sad part is I had the highest insurance they offered but it's not even close to the amount of tools I had stolen. NO help or assistance from the office on site. read more

This review is exclusively for Lawrence, Manager @ Public Storage, who reminded me of the impact and power of great customer service. Moving is hardly ever easy, and I was personally having a very difficult time. Lawrence recognized that and helped me through this. I had ran into some trouble registering for a storage unit and I had found the Public Storage online user experience to be quite laborious and challenging. I was just going to say "forget it" and take my money elsewhere, but Lawrence stepped in and handled everything, seamlessly. This was incredibly appreciated as it was raining and I was low on patience. Lawrence was not only so accommodating, but he had all the patience, jokes and kindness. I laughed, I smiled, and we got through finding and securing a storage unit at the facility. Lawrence - if you see this, THANK YOU! Said I requested move out. I did not. I have proof. Cancelled the move out. have proof. have tried to discuss for over 10 days, no luck. they sent me a close receipt and then said they will try to resolve within 72 hours. I have no idea where my stuff is and I am in another state so I cant get to IT. all bills paid (working n posting all receipts, chats and other items shortly- stand by for those, for anyone thinking this is something other than what it is- they STOLE OUR ITEMS) I am awaiting an EMAIL COMMUNICATION from the manager as I have been for 11 days. I can not trust them via phone since I have to have screen shots and video of screens for everything since they dont take any accountability or provide explanation. I gave them NUMEROUS times to resolve before a review and they responded with "we would not close an account with stuff in there" but they have no answer to where the stuff went. read more

My unit inside and out smells like urine, the cement floor is stained up and obviously has been urinated on. Food remains outside the unit, appears someone may have been living in it previously. I do like access to the gate via the app. Its a very tight drive with a trailer between rows attempting to leave. The hours aren't the greates 6pm is the latest you can access your unit. read more

The customer service at this location was superb. The only downside was that the location did not show up correctly on my navigation for both Google maps and Waze. If you are renting a unit please call for directions ahead of time. read more

WARNING! Not secure! After I asked about the renovations being done and who would be watching my stuff as all the doors were being removed, the district manager told me security would be on-site 50% of the time during renovation to protect renter's belongings and cameras the other 50% AND that the facility was 90% secure. I guess if the gate wasn't broken it would've been at 100%. Check out the entire facility BEFORE you rent! I moved my stuff out after just 5 months. Security starts with the management and they could care less what happens to your belongings. Staff constantly changed and some came with built-in 'attitudes', information provided was completely wrong and blatantly lied to me about refunding money for days left in the month after I moved out. They were in the process of replacing doors and concrete when I moved out and they cut MY locks off and when I asked would they be replacing or reimbursing me for the locks staff told me to read letter/email that was sent around. Well, I had read it and it made no mention about how they plan to handle replacing locks. It was resolved by District manager ( he gave me 2 locks) and said this could have been handled in the office. I thought so too. But when I told him the contractors were there the day I moved out and they had stood on my leather couch and left concrete splatter on the side he told me make an insurance claim. Well, remember the insurance (through public storage) has a $100 deductible...so their contractors trash my couch and I have PAY for it. The security that was suppose to be there to watch over the contractors but the old security guy left while I was still there. When I watched a contractor stand on someone's stuff and go through boxes I notified staff and was told they knew and were going to contact district manager. I am so happy to have moved my stuff out of there. I found a place right up the street that was $100 cheaper, no insurance deductible, very secure and staff was GREAT! read more

I am being charged for insurance on two of my three storage units even though I attempted to waive it at the time I rented the units.  They refused to waive it initially on the two "because my first month was free."  I had no problems with waiving it on the first unit.  Now they REFUSE to stop billing me for insurance.  They tell me I have to go into the office to sign a waiver which is what I tried to do to begin with in the office.  I have been working remotely for two months.  They have been requiring me to go into a Public Storage office BUT I WAS SO REMOTE THERE WASN'T ONE ANYWHERE FOR HUNDREDS OF MILES!  I have now tried calling the corporate headquarters and finally got through to someone after a tremendous amount of difficulty and being on hold for 20 minutes.  I finally got through to someone who was nice and tried to help, however, she was unable to find a way she could correct it and forwarded a message to her supervisor but until she calls back and fixes it, I will have to continue to pay $30/MO for insurance when I don't need it!  I never got a call back.  Previously, I had spoken to the manager of the storage facility who said the GM would call back and they never called back -- has been 3 weeks.  I have now traveled a significant distance to only have wi-fi access for a short time.  In addition to all this, the office calls me every few days and repeatedly sends multiple emails telling me I have not secured one of my storage areas because I apparently put the lock in the "wrong hole."  I was not told about this "wrong hole/right hole."  I am now convinced that this is a set-up just to make me pay more money.  They owe me a lot of money and need to correct their records one way or another.  And no one is being responsive!  Enough is enough.  This is absurd.  I am too busy for this nonsense and they are taking money they have absolutely no entitlement to! read more

I've had a 5 x 10 here for the past couple weeks and I'm pretty satisfied. The manager Marquis was very nice and the setup process was pretty painless. The entrance to this facility is pretty dark and sketch at night (I think they should install a light in that particular area) and this location is kind of tucked behind a Latino mart. Still, I've had no real issues storing here. read more

I shopped around and got a good rate here for a unit moving from another location. Front office is nice and helpful. FYI Units don't have heat or a/c as they all have drive-up entrance so temp inside unit can vary but I knew that going in. What I didn't realize was that after a few months they could raise my rate. So take that in to account when weighing facilities that Public Storage can raise the raise shortly after you move in. I called and got no help from corporate. Your only option is to move out. read more

Telephone rep was friendly. After setting up reservation, he encouraged me to go in the same day to see space. He didn't tell me I needed to get there 30 mins before closing to set up account and see space. When I arrived, front desk person would not show me unit, and told me I had to come back next day. Total waste of my time. Also, rep was supposed to send me a text with address to location, and he never did. read more

I had to move suddenly and prayed for an easy transition. Along with renting a moving truck, this Public Storage and Chris, the sales rep made my transition that much easier. He was efficient from the beginning and very helpful when I couldn't work the key on my storage lock. I've only had the storage for a day, but every question or concern I've had was answered professionally and swiftly. No complaints here. read more

We're moving in a hurry and need some extra space to hold our belongings while we move and the whole process only took about 20 minutes (including signing up, showing us the space, and us moving in). I couldn't have asked for a better, stress-free experience.
