The guys were clean and before they entered they slipped on a pair of "booties" over their shoes to do the run thru with me. As we went over the items I told them I didn't get a chance to box a few things and before I could finish they said no worries they could get it packed up and ready for me. sweet!!!! They were very careful with my items and I was impressed with their efficiency. When we got to the new location, I did the walk thru with the guys so they knew where to put some of the bigger items and I was surprised yet again by them putting the shoe covers on before entering the house. They had a good system and everything was done in record time! When I finally got around to unpacking the boxes they did for me, I was taken aback at how neat and with care the articles were bubble wrapped and placed not thrown into the box. Perhaps I interrupted her break? She seemed really irritated by the one question I asked in response to her asking me if I had any questions, rolling her eyes and mumbling under her breath openly throughout our entire interaction. In the middle of the process of me renting a storage space, she literally ran out of the store to yell at someone that she thought was about to park nearby. I thought about ducking out right then but honestly I was afraid she'd chase me down yelling too. Predictably, when the charges hit my card 2 days later it was a different price than I was quoted by Selam. I returned to the store with my contract and the paperwork printed and signed in that very location showing the discrepancy, only to be told by a large bearded kid behind the desk that he "was only a part-time employee" and that he "couldn't help me." In October, I went to my unit like I routinely do to get somethings out my unit. When I finally got to my door, I noticed the locking mechanism itself had been tampered with, almost pried. It looked as if someone stuck a crowbar or flat bar and tried to pry the door open. I took pictures and documented what I saw. In that moment I stood very still and very silent to make sure I was not hearing anyone else. Next, 2 random guys hop out of a storage unit with a surprised "oh shit" look on their face when they saw me. They immediately tried to run but I moved faster. They told me they had a storage unit there and they simply were changing clothes. I wasn't buying it, so I immediately pulled out my phone and the two guys ran again in another direction. I called Stuf Storage right away and told them what happened and showed them the pictures that are attach here. I was told the security "footage" would be revised and I would get a call back in 2-to-3 days max. About 3 weeks go by and still have no heard anything back from Stuf Storage. I go back to my storage unit yet again to grab a few items. When I approach the door to the unit, I could see even more damage to the locking mechanism. When I finally opened the door, I see the chicken wire used as a "ceiling " was cut open with pliers. I could see evidence of someone in my storage unit as well as missing items. I yet again try to reach out to Stuf Storage to someone name "Debra". Debra is supposed to be management...apparently. Debra proceed to tell me she would look into the mater and contact me. A few days passed by and I never received a call so I called Stuf yet again and "Debra" answered. She tells me the unit was cut into by maintenance staff while working on the fire alarm. Even if that was true, why not repair a unsecured unit. Debra did not understand the top of the storage unit was cut and the unit was not unsecured. 4 months later and I have yet to be reimbursed for my stolen items. Management screens my calls and don't answer. When I manage to call from another number management seems to coincidentally be busy every time and never call back. When I've asked for general mangers contact info, I was flat out told No.

When I called the company for an ETA, I kept getting a later and later ETA. Around 6 PM still with no honest ETA, I spoke with the manager Kate. She said the the office would be closing soon, but that there was an error and I had been scheduled after a long, all-day job. This is despite the fact that when I had the confirmation call with the scheduler, I had reiterated that the 1-5 PM window was what I wanted. Finally at 7:30 PM I got an ETA of arriving to *start* the job at 8 PM! I had spoken with a few managers at this point, who assured me that despite the crew having worked an entire day's long job, there was no cut-off and they would keep working... I am not a labor law expert but that is a terrible way to treat your employees doing demanding physical labor all day long who have not even had dinner. I said no to having an exhausted crew who had worked all day long come to start my job at 8 PM at night. Not only did I not want an exhausted crew to keep working on my behalf, I also could not be the new neighbor moving in at 10 PM (which would have been the case given the distance and load time). Instead, I asked to have the job finished the next morning, which I am thankful they accommodated (the bare minimum here). This was a HUGE headache, I had taken time off of work for this move, and it was wasted waiting all afternoon and evening for an honest ETA. The communication was poor, only one person apologized for this snafu at all and I kept having to call back to get updates (few people called me back when they said they would). Additionally, I had reserved street parking at my new residence (required 4 business days notice to do so) which had expired by the time the movers ever showed up. It only worked out because my new landlord and ALL the other tenants VERY kindly helped me out by moving all their cars. All this headache and I had to ask for a discount, which ended up only being 10 percent. That didn't even cover the wasted reserved parking fee I paid for! The movers themselves were very good at their job, but it doesn't seem like they are treated well. When I told the first crew it was too late to start my move, they should get a rest and dinner, they were so relieved. I had expected so much better from such a highly rated company.
