The delivery guy TRIED to get over on us with only dropping off 3 of the boxes until we pressured him and he magically found the other box. The delivery guy was also in a ZIPCAR! For 3 months we have spent well over $1000 with this company. 0/10 DONT RECOMMEND!!!!! Save yourself the money, time, and stress. **WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. RENT A STORAGE UNIT YOURSELF AND JUST HIRE MOVERS** My family and I's experience has been the worst and honestly traumatic. They get one star because they at least were able to pick up my brothers items but when it comes to getting the items back it has been difficult and as of today we still have not received everything. We requested and got a confirmation that they would drop off our items between 8am-9:30am on Saturday 08/20. When that time came and went we of course became concerned so we attempted to contact them. They for some reason only let us contact them through text so my mom and brother texted them. Dorm 2 dorm did not respond to them at all after multiple texts were sent. I finally sent a separate text from my phone with little info and said "I need to speak to someone about my drop off" and they responded IMMEDIATELY. Of course we were understandably upset. After a ton of back and forth they said they didn't have us on the delivery schedule for the day and that they could deliver to us the following day. I literally begged for them to please find a way to deliver to us on the day requested and confirmed since we had more help that day. They said no. I then asked if there was any way for us to just come pick up our stuff and they again said no, and that they don't offer pickup. At this point our items were basically being held hostage and we had no choice but to wait till the next day for delivery. They sent me a link to schedule delivery again for the next day, we filled it out and my brother received another email confirmation. I asked if they can confirm over text and whoever I was texting literally texted back and said "I don't have time for that today". I was obviously shocked and really didn't know what to say at that point, but then I guess they found time to send me a text confirmation because a few minutes later they confirmed our delivery again between 8am-9:30am on 08/21. We waited around during this time and again nothing. Around 9:30am on 08/21 we began texting them again. Between my mom, brother and I we sent about 15 texts and none of us received a response. At that point we lost hope and accepted that we might not be getting our stuff back, especially after seeing other reviews in recents weeks where people either didn't get their items at all or had items missing. So we made a plan to file a police report. As a last ditch effort I texted dorm 2 dorm again letting them know that we would be filing a police report because we didn't know what to do and were receiving zero communication. Within about 2-3 minutes of saying this to them my brother finally received text from the delivery drivers. They said that they didn't realize we were not on campus (my brother is in an apartment off campus) and that they would let us know when they would be on their way. This was at about 10am. They arrived at about 11:30am, 2 hours after the end of our scheduled delivery window (really 27 hours after the original scheduled delivery), in a budget rental truck. When they opened the truck it was truly chaotic. There was little to no organization and I immediately saw that many of the boxes in the truck were very damaged and/or wet. I felt so bad for the delivery drivers because they said they were just contract workers and would get calls sometimes to help this company complete their deliveries, not sure if this is true however they were very professional and apologetic. They acknowledged the situation had been pretty bad all day when people saw their items. They dug through and were able to get 6 of our boxes which were in terrible condition and none of our larger more expensive items were there such as: the tv, vacuum, swifter mop, ironing board, mirror, trash can, broom and curtain rod. When we opened the boxes there were many items that were broken such as a fan and a shattered picture frame. There even were a couple items completely missing from the boxes such as a diffuser, Britta filter and multiple velvet hangers. I have never been so shocked by a service and we paid over $1,000 for this service!!! We will definitely be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and if we do not get the rest of our items we will have to possibly take legal action. I will be sharing our experience with whoever I can and we will take whatever next steps we need too. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! read more

I used dorm2dorm when moving my daughter out of her dorm in 2022 in Washington DC , when it came time for them to drop her stuff off, they lost majority of her belongings tv, printer, electronic games, winter clothes, mattress topper, protector etc and other personal belongings. All of the boxes were labeled Had her name and box number. Was told that they didn't separate the belongings according to the school. They mixed all of the schools. read more

What a terrible company. They lost all 9 of my one daughters boxes. Only delivered 8 out of 9 of my other daughters boxes. Won't return emails or calls. They don't have a customer service voice line, only a text line which no one responds to. We got the owners phone number but he also doesn't return calls. He would text my daughters useless updates (basically...we really have no idea where you boxes are or when or if we will find them). Text were always totally unprofessional. I feel like this company has a great website, but behind the scenes it is operating out of someone's sketchy garage. We've asked for a refund on their ridiculous fees. This is the worst place to store your items. I have had a mirror, a guitar and a sound system stored. They delivered the wrong mirror and never delivered the guitar and sound system. The TV which I sent came with a damaged stand (amazing). Overall, I have spent 1000$ for the service over the summer and I have lost 500$ of items. Total loosings are 1500$. Insane money for a student. If I do not get the items, I will take legal actions and I will not regret a penny until the justice is served. read more

This company is horrible. I had them hold 4 boxes for me over the summer in NYC. initially, I had hesitations with the box pick up as they were hours late to collect my boxes for storage. When it came time for the boxes to be delivered I was able to schedule the delivery with no problem and they were in contact with me that there would be a delay and would be delivered the day after I requested. Unfortunately my boxes were not delivered the day agreed on. I sent many texts and emails ( their phone line was down) asking about my boxes over the course of a week. They did not respond to me for A WEEK about the status of my boxes that I was paying them to store and deliver. I ended up filing a police report as there was 0 contact I assumed my stuff was stolen. I only received a message a full week later that my boxes would be delivered that day. My delivery was not completed until 1am( the next day) with no warning just a phone call that they were here. Luckily I received all of my boxes in good condition but I know others that did not receive all of their boxes. The way this business is being run is extremely unprofessional and upsetting. read more

Previously used a different company in a different state at my other kids universities and had positive experiences. I figured this would be the same-I thought wrong. They pick up went fine. They did try to change the pick up time to something earlier which was not going to work for my student, so they ended up coming at the later end of the original window which didn't matter to us. However, scheduling the drop-off for the return to school didn't go well. The date we requested was considered "early" so we were charged an additional charge of $150 which we had to agree to. We received a call from the apartment complex that my student was moving into the day before the agreed drop off date saying that her belongings were left on the loading dock unattended and she needed to pick them up right away. We were a 6 hour drive away. Not a good first impression to your new landlord. I reached out to Dorm 2 Dorm who finally responded after several phone calls and texts. They were apologetic and explained that they were out of town and hired someone that doesn't usually help them to do the job and that person had a conflict with the original date so he dropped them off early because he needed to. Leaving her belongings unattended on a loading dock! We paid for extra insurance over the Summer in addition to the storage fees. We paid for the "elite" level service and the additional $150 "early" delivery fee. We were missing a box of items. We received a damaged item. I texted with the person/owner in charge in the Washington DC area and he agreed to refund the $150 charge and I also asked to be reimbursed $50 for the damaged item. The staff at the apartment complex carried all of my daughters belongings from the loading dock into her apartment because we wouldn't arrive until the next day and they couldn't leave her belongings outside overnight. I paid Dorm 2 Dorm for that service-not the apartment staff. I reminded the owner of that in my texts. After 2 months of me texting him reminders to refund my credit card, he finally refunded $60-not the $200 he should have refunded. I have tried to contact him again and avoid a review like this, but he hasn't responded, so here I am leaving this long winded, wordy mess of a review that makes me seem petty. But when you pay quite a bit of money for a service, you hope to receive the service! Dorm 2 Dorm DOES NOT deliver as they say they will. A truly disappointing service. I stored my items with them for over 1.5 years. It was impossible to contact customer support (always went to voicemail) to figure out when the delivery of my items would be delivered. They ended up missing one of my boxes and only delivered it after sending multiple emails to customer support. They also damaged my mattress that I had stored with them and refused to pay despite the fact that I had paid for insurance. I would give them one star if I could. They ruined an upholstered arm chair of mine by putting another customer's box on top of it which spilled detergent all over it. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for storage company that is easy to work with and straight to the point. I had actually accidentally scheduled my pick up on the wrong day (a day after my flight home) so I called the company and they worked with me to have my items picked up the day I had called. The customer service is definitely one of the fortes of this company, there is always someone who is willing to work with you in order to figure out your situation on the other end. Really disappointed and furious with Dorm2Dorm. I had used them in the past with no complaints, but this year I stored a few boxes with them and over half of them were dropped off in a condition too bad to bring up the elevator (oh yeah - they just dropped it in the lobby, didn't even bother bringing it up the ELEVATOR to the second floor). It looked as if someone had opened all of my boxes and rifled through all of my things. Almost half the boxes were ripped and most had items spilling out of them and onto the floor. I received a text from the Australian employee who dropped off my boxes that said "we managed to put everything together." If that was their definition of put together, everyone should be horrified and steer clear of this company. It took five girls to bring everything up, and we couldn't even lift the boxes because they were so ripped, everything would have fallen out and broken on the floor if we hadn't taken everything out of the boxes one by one and brought it all up by hand. YOU HAD ONE JOB, AND IT WAS TO RETURN MY ITEMS IN THE SAME CONDITION WHICH I GAVE THEM TO YOU IN. YOU FAILED YOUR ONE JOB. I will be telling everyone I can at CUA to never use your service, because this is simply unacceptable and a waste of money. read more

They came right in the beginning of the 3 hour window they gave me for expected arrival; however, the driver did not help me move my things out of the dorm and I had to do it myself (which is what we were trying to avoid by ordering a moving and storage service for the very heavy objects in the dorm.) Overall, prices are competitive and I would use this service again if I were to be promised help actually doing the moving. read more

They broke my mirror, arrived way after the set time frame we had scheduled without even calling, and did not drop off my microwave with the rest of my stuff. He didn't even put it back in his truck! Overall the process was very easy, my boxes were both delivered and picked up with ease and the driver did his best to ensure that the time was convenient. The boxes themselves were really sturdy and fit just about all my things. If anything, the only reason why I can't give this 5 stars is because originally I was told that I received an automatic coupon just for submitting my email address, then I was told that the coupon had to be applied over the phone and that the price I paid my first month would be the price I paid every month. My first bill was perfectly fine. But, with no warning my second bill was an entirely different charge. I had to call them for them to tell me that my coupon wasn't applied until I made this yelp review. They said the first person put on a coupon on my account too early or something. I don't understand why, knowing this, they'd still charge me for someone else's fault. I'm not upset I had to make a review, it would have just been a lot easier for them to tell me that in advance or at least email me about it. Dorm2Dorm was a great convenience for me. I was a freshman moving from Washington, D.C. back to St. Louis for the summer without a lot of time on my hands. They shipped boxes, labels, and tape right to my dorm a few weeks before my pick up date, called and sent emails to confirm that I had received everything, and came to pick up my boxes promptly on move out day.
