Let's start by saying that I hardly do reviews. I expect a great experience when paying for something; if it isn't great, try to move on and enjoy life. It's hard enough to be a single father in a state where you don't know anyone. Add moving or storing by yourself, and it sucks. First, I've never dealt with a more straightforward process and excellent pricing as I have here. This place is worth the price. What makes this place unique, though, is Natalie! In the deep recesses of a dark storage room came a bright light. I seriously thought it might be an angel or ghost . An angel was the correct answer. Natalie ensured I could get set up easily, offered to help, and told me she'd be around if I needed anything. The difference was that it wasn't that usual fake, "I have to do this" kind of thing. She didn't know that I was having a rough day and in those few moments, she completely turned it around. I'm not so annoyed with having to store things now ! read more

We had stuff stolen from our unit. Found rat bait when we moved out and we did not put it there. Nails in driveway that the manager walked by twice as I watched and she didn't pick up. Rent was doubled within the last couple of years. Dirty. Smells, and has rat bait boxes all over. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORAGE FACILITY!!! They are dishonest and not customer service focused at all. We have been renting 2 storage units here for 2 years. After quite a few increases we are now paying over $350 for each unit even though they are advertising the same size units for $147. We have asked repeatedly for the price to be lowered to market price but they refuse. They say the market/lower price is for new customers only. I suppose that's so they can randomly jack up the price once they have your business. It seems some customers receive a good price while the others do not. That sounds alot like discrimination. Public Storage start taking care of ALL your customers not just the handful you've decided meet your guidelines of who should receive fair pricing. Most companies reward long time customers while Public Storage penalizes them for staying. read more

So far so good. The process of getting the into the into was so easy! I filled everything out online, paid, and within 30 minutes I got a text saying my lock was in the unit and I was all set. Start to finish it took maybe an hour to get it all set, including the previous mentioned text time. The unit was clean and the ceilings are so tall!!! I was a little apprehensive about whether the size was going to work but upon walking in I was so happy I went with the 5x10. There weren't any deals happening like $1 first month rent or anything but the monthly price is so low I can't complain. I did observe a gentleman walking the property making sure the units were good, that was kind of cool. He was also wearing mask which is pretty cool to see. read more

This place just keeps increasing rates, the fire doors don't stay open, many of the lights don't work. You can find much more reasonable storage rates at just about any other facility. after 5 years I'm done and moving elsewhere. There is no way they can justify these annual increases of $40-60 per year. read more

I moved from another Public Storage which experienced a rash of burglaries. this one is closer to my home and I rented a larger unit which was only $13 more than my previous unit. The staff are friendly but between the frequently inoperable electronic access and now having raised rates again, 45% in just over a year, hard to feel good about the place and their value. I get inflation , it's everywhere and I'd accept something, but $70+ in a year? I made some quick calls and I'm getting their old rates at several places within 2 miles; that tells me it's time to move and I've been there for almost 2 years on auto pay so they get paid like clockwork. Look around and you'll find they are the highest rates in Gilbert, by far. read more

UPDATE: I'm changing my review of this place because they will not give you the lowest rate they advertise on a unit unless you move your stuff to that unit. As you can image this can get old quick. A few months ago I did just that, moved everything to a new unit to take advantage of the lower rate, now about 4 months later they INCREASED the rate by 20% yet they still have the lower rate I signed up for advertised for new customers. When I called and inquired about this I was told that rates are not guaranteed and that they can increase. Really? In just a few months? Well they might get $20 more from me this month but won't get a dime more in the future since I will be moving out and going elsewhere. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been renting here on and off for 10 years. These guys not only usually have the Lowest a/c rates in the East Valley but they are also very clean, helpful and I feel my stuff (and myself) are pretty safe here. Also because its inside and air conditioned my stuff hasn't gotten damaged, minimal dust. Go online to get the lowest rates.. usually 10-15% of the "office" rates. Also the upstairs rates are generally cheaper than downstairs but don't worry they have a big freight elevator. Good place I would recommend it to anyone needing a/c storage. read more

Deceptive and unscrupulous Business Practices. Before signing the agreement I asked multiple times if I was locked in at the rate I signed up for. Little did I know, hidden in the agreement was a clause that said they can raise it for any reason after 6 months. And keep doing so at their own discretion. They can get away with it since it's a pain to move again so they take advantage of this fact. Next is that if you move out in the beginning of the month they charge you for the whole month. No prorated refund. This company is just GREED and SELF PURPOSE. Will never use them again and will make sure NEVER to recommend them to anyone. read more

I had an error with my direct deposit and an auto ACH was rejected, they charged me 40.00 on a 74.00 dollar storage fee, that was originally 49.00. Apparently they raise the fees once you store with them. I called and asked if they could remove the late fee of 14.00 or the check rejection fee of 25.83. The rep talked over me numerous times said NO, that she can't help me at all and when I asked for a supervisor she told me the supervisor would do the same, she argued with me and then hung up on me. So we initially thought this was a great experience- we had a great deal moving in special, we liked that we felt we were getting a better deal over another company with non-climatized units. We finally emptied our unit out after our rates kept increasing. We were disappointed with the end process, when we learned that we don't get credited back any amount of our storage unit price. They took out payment on the 3rd, it is now the 11th. Just a fair warning when renting- make sure you empty out your unit before the next billing cycle hits otherwise you lose money. It's a sickening thought thinking that they'll rent out our unit and make double off our storage unit. Sharon was really nice, but 2 stars are for their not prorating us for unused time on our storage unit. Update* Sharon just called my husband, who had given her 4 out of 5 stars on their review card when he checked out and asked him to change his review to 5 stars so she wouldn't get in trouble with her boss. Who does that?? He clearly explained he didn't give them 5 stars because it was out of Sharon's hands that we didn't get any money back from moving out of our storage unit early. He's a lot nicer than me because my 2 star review just got bumped to 1 star because she called us and asked him to do that. read more

I have helped move my inlaws every 6 months as winter visitors for the past 14 years and have used public storage here on Park Avenue in Gilbert for 12 of those years. They have always been easy to work with. This year however Jordan did help set us up with a unit. I can not think of a way that he could have done ANY better with having a very smooth transaction from the first time of contact to having the paperwork ready and completed in just minutes. Jordan was very helpful and professional. The storage units and grounds are clean, appear to be well maintained and reasonably priced. I would recommend this storage facility to anyone. read more

Unlike as stated by others, my move out experience was ok. I was upset that for a facility of this size, they only had TWO moving carts. At the same time I got there, both were being used by the same group. The clerk walked over and we both politely asked to borrow one of them. While it worked out ok; what if they said No? Why not have more on hand, why not limit one cart per group? They had two lockers, but still needs to be fair. Was I expected to wait hours, all day for them to finish. I made two trips to empty the small locker and they were still there. Cheap owners for not providing more carts; why not spend a few hundred dollars and get 4/5 more carts. These carts last forever! My move in experience on the other hand was a complete and total cluster! At one point I just tore up the contract and was ready to walk out. I made a reservation online and expected a smooth move it. Then when we got there, the clerk/manager(?) insisted that we need to buy insurance from them to cover our storage. She printed off all the docs and was forcing my daughter to sign everything. I said that I refuse to accept the insurance. She insisted that its a must! I said absolutely not and no where on the agreement nor the website does it state that. I said that customers can assume full responsibility for their items and sign a waiver. I also stated that our insurance covers it anyway. The whole ordeal was extremely rude and infuriating; as we had a lot of things to accomplish that day and starting off with the BS was not a good way to do it. Even though she denied it, I suspect they get a kick back from the insurance company and are forced to push the insurance on customers by the owners of this location. We ended up waiving it, but were still charged for it, as she said that it was the only way to lock in the unit. She said that she then had to put through a cancellation and we would get a refund; which we did, but what a f'n pain in the rear. read more

Did not work for me. I rented an inside climate controlled unit for what seemed like a reasonable rate. When I attempted to move in I realized after searching for roughly 30 minutes that they had zero carts to utilize in order for me to transfer my items back to the unit. I called the staff member and she informed me that they have 4 or 5 carts thus I searched again without finding a cart. Ends up they have one cart which was confirmed by their staff the next day, but it was in use by a couple and they indicated they would be finished in another 2 hours. I ended up canceling the unit the following day after spending several hours with nothing accomplished other than paying for a unit for a month that I can't use. The staff is friendly and the climate controlled unit could be a value if you have your own cart or hand truck to transfer your items to the unit which could be back in the building quite a ways or up the elevator. read more

We used the Public Storage facility on South Power Rd in Gilbert, AZ. The facility is nice, but be prepared to pay more than you're told when you go to pay for the unit. You will need to pay for insurance, but their "company policy" is not to say anything about insurance. Why, I don't know, but that's the policy. Just be aware and ask about insurance!! read more
