I have had several storage units over the years at different places. Armored Self Storage, is the absolute best I have ever done business with. They always go out of their way to help you . The staff and the owner are such nice people. The facility is clean and they provide trolleys to take from your vehicle to your unit . Please make sure to return them inside. The Very best thing is, it is air-conditioned inside. It is actually nice and cool and they play nice music over the PA SYSTEM. The great thing about having air-conditioned storage, is that your items don't get ruined ,they don't get cooked in 120° heat . You can even rent a moving van from them . So you can bring your things to the storage unit if you need to. At one time I had rented 3 units at once. The more you have rented, the better rate they will give you. I rented from them for about seven years . I had payments taken from my card each month. It was hassle free. If you live in Tempe or the area ,and you need storage . I believe this is the best place you'll find .

They went out of their way to offer help, sometimes before I even had to ask! The manager is who I saw most often and he remembered me by name and my unit number. He asked about the friends and roommates I had that had visited there with me asked how they were doing and stuff even if he had only seen them with me and never spoke to them directly! I was blown away by how personalized our interactions were and it made me feel a lot safer somehow. When we were first getting the unit he broke down the agreement into simple easy to understand terms, explained all the policies/fees in depth, and still got the whole process done and the keys in my hand in less than 15 minutes. The place is air conditioned and temperature controlled. There is a huge freight-sized elevator with covered/lightly padded walls to take you to each floor. They have free mattress dollies, carts and furniture dollies you can use for free, no questions asked, as long as you put them away. The building and every hallway was always always clean, no Trash, no dust, nothing just laying around. The bathroom is large but only one person can use it at a time. It was always clean and well stocked and never really had a bad smell. You can make your payments online, (with no extra fee!) which is a big plus to me since I would hate to have to drive down there every month to pay in person. We never saw any bugs, mice or, other vermin anywhere at all on the property. When I got my things unpacked, I double-checked and there were no bugs anywhere. Not even silverfish or crickets! There is a soda vending machine, a water fountain and they also sell bottled water if you forgot to bring a drink. My only complaint is that I wish they were open for more hours especially on weekends, at least until 9 like the majority of businesses in the valley, but I get it. They have a small staff. They are open 7 days a week which is awesome! We had one really bad day on move in and we were stuck there after closing and the manager was very understanding and courteous and worked with us, not against us. At every opportunity, any time something went wrong (throughout my entire 8ish month stay), he went out of his way to be flexible and patient and try to lighten the mood. I will happily come back to this Armored Storage any time I move and will recommend to everyone I know who's looking for a secure, temp controlled place with great customer service and reasonable prices.

Soooo that means every time a mover is moving something in, you have to put in your code to open it again. So I had to stand by the door in the 100 degree weather to keep it open for the movers to move my stuff into the unit. I rented a…read morestorage unit to move my goods into an air-conditioned unit from a non-airconditioned storage elsewhere. BUT this unit is NOT AIRCONDITIONED even though they say so. I have talked to the manager 3 or 4 times already, and each time she says that she'll call an HVAC to come, or that the air is actually running, or that the HVAC was just here yesterday, or they're coming tomorrow. In fact the last time I complained it was a variation of all of the above. It is HOT in my unit, and I'll continue to post reviews until this is repaired!

Redeeming factor was the lone employee cleaning trucks that helped me so my pickup was only 30 minutes delayed. Your after hours pickup is not recommended unless the staff does their job and assigns vehicles to the after hours reservations.

The prices were decent and my pay period was set up mid month. US Storage took over, changed the pay period to the first of every month and now if I'm even a day late, I'm charged a very expensive late fee. I called to try and talk to someone about the pay period changing and was told I should just try to pay two months early or months in advance. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to pay almost $600 for a 10x10 space. I've just had to pay the late fee pretty much every month at this point because I relocated to the Tucson area temporarily for my fiance's job (I work from home). We will be back in the Mesa / Gilbert area so I wanted to keep the storage unit. Today, I drove the two hours with my car full to drop off at the unit and I was unable to enter and the code said to see the manager. I went to the front office and there was a sign saying no one will be back until tomorrow. I called the phone number and the lady who answered confirmed my payment went through, but a Manager had to physically be at the location to allow me to enter and unlock my unit, because I paid 7 days past the first. She said they would not be available until tomorrow. I explained it was a four hour trip for me and I did not have the option to drive back tomorrow. She was very polite on the phone and apologized and explained no one was working at this location today, which is on a Monday and around 1:40pm and was well within their advertised work/office hours. I have never left a negative review in my life, but this is so bad that as soon as I have money saved to get a Uhaul to move everything from this location, I will be leaving and never renting from this company and will be sure to let everyone know to avoid this company.
