I've never had to use a storage unit before and was pretty nervous about the whole process. Ali and Mike were both very helpful and were willing to explain the process to me in detail. Mike took me on a tour of the Public Storage property and showed me the actual unit I would be renting. He also went out of his way to demonstrate how the lock worked so that I wouldn't have any problems. I was concerned about a possible bug problem, so Ali sprayed my entire unit before I put belongings inside. Both Ali and Mike helped me feel more at ease during a very stressful time in my life. I really appreciate the excellent customer service that I received from this business location and highly recommend Public Storage at Power Rd. to anyone looking for a storage unit. The online rates are click bait. You will be charged a $24.00 fee, a $20.00 lock fee and by the time its all said and done my "half off first month" was still $111.00. How is that half of the advertised $113.00?? (note no itemized bill) I specifically told them I would not be back to move in till the weekend days later, with help! I was told nothing about putting the lock they sold me on at that time. I rented a truck and arrived Saturday, but was locked out of my unit! I called and no one would do anything. Even though someone was there on site! So I was stuck paying for a U-haul and double the mileage and gas for 2 days. When Public Storage opened Sunday, I had the help of one person instead of the 3 who showed up Saturday. I asked Dist. Manager Kristen K. to cover half my U-haul bill since they locked me out, made zero effort to contact me to come switch out locks, and will get over $115.00 monthly from me anyway. She implied it is my fault, they have to lock the unit so some other customer does not come and lock their stuff in it. I guess she thinks we are that stupid! She has not called me back. Its been a week. Thanks Public Storage and Kristen for nothing. I will not use your services again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Don't expect to get decent customer service either. read more

Great location, easy to do business with, rented there before !!

I've had a 5x10 locker for the past year. This past week I got a notice saying the rate was increasing to $67 per month plus tax. I can go online and get the same locker for $44 per month today, but I was told I'd have to vacate my locker for 7 business days to get the rate. So, you care more about getting a new customer than retaining a good paying customer? I'll vacate the locker but it will be permanently​, not just for 7 days. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID this storage facility. After only having the unit for a few months, the rent has already increased from $145 to $170 with no notice or explanation. When my husband called to ask, he was told that management decided to increase rent. We are beyond irritated that we are going to have to move my elderly mother-in-laws things to another storage facility. After reading other reviews, it seems that they do this to everyone. read more

What a great place to put your extra things. The staff is awesome, it is exceptionally clean and easy to use. The staff was so friendly and helpful, felt like I knew them for a long time. They took us around to see different sizes and we found what we needed and the price was reasonable. I started at $99 a month 2 years ago, it is now at $138. Autopay is mandatory to avoid additional fees and $11 a month for insurance even though I already have my own rental insurance which covers storage units. I'm in the military, thanks for no discount, and will be moving my stuff elsewhere when I get back. read more

Please be advised that once you use them for 4 months they'll raise your rate on you by at least 25%. Spend your money elsewhere that's what I'll be planning on doing. read more

I purchased some moving boxes and they even helped me not only bring it to my car, but helped put it in the car. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Warning they are beyond rude. I went to turn in my daughters keys yesterday Sunday 8/6/17. Doors were locked and I didnt see any signs etc. I called my daughter to let her know they were closed. All of the hours listed on the door is very difficult to see. I went to turn in my daughters keys today 8/7/17 and basically Rebecca, kept arguing, raising her voice and repeating herself over and over and over that they would charge my daughter a whole extra month $80 even tho they were aware she was vacating the unit on Saturday 8/5/17! She threatened my daughters credit and kept telling me she would call and talk with mu daughter. This place advertises $1 as a special but so not be fooled! They will take advantage, nickel and dime you with first months, last months, lock charge of over $20 and a deposit. My daughter said she was never Told there were special instructions when vacating. The main point is this place/company has no concept of what GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT. They would rather make customers angry then help them. Renting the unit was easy; however, when I arrived for my "meeting" with them, they informed me I HAD TO TAKE THEIR INSURANCE, buy their lock and start this before FEB 1st (to get their special) when we had anticipated. I explained I had checked with my homeowners company, and I have current coverage at any storage facility as long as it is not owned by the moving company. I was forced into accepting it....and told if I brought them the paperwork that PROVED it, I would get a refund. I came home and did just that - took it back within 2 hours -- and signed the paperwork which he marked DECLINED upon. Then I asked if they would credit it today.....he told me they would prorate it. I asked why - he said for today. 2 flipping hours???? And NOTHING in the unit yet? I was angry...so I came home and called the number on the insurance paperwork I had been given. Left a message to call me back, as they were "SO BUSY" it stated. . So I called BACK to the facility to get a number and was told Aly is the manager there, and he was just doing his job....so I needed to take it up with the insurance company. He gave me the OTHER managers name there. ( I have no idea why - she would just be doing her job too.) Then I asked him who I can call about this issue to discuss it; he gave me a district manager's name and number. I called that man....had to leave a message there also to call me back. I told Aly I wish he would have given me the chance to bring in the paperwork first if I wasn't going to get ALL my money back (plus tax by the way...which is weird...my insurance agency doesn't collect or include tax on my yearly premium!) and he said since I was renting the unit at that, he HAD to charge. me. This is being "strong armed" to say the least. Same goes for their lock charge. He told me it was $20; I asked if that was a deposit and if it would be refunded upon leaving -- he told me NO..I had to take it with me. There is NO lock fee on my paperwork for ANY amount of money; however, there is a $24 administrative fee which he never mentioned. It stated on my paperwork for this reservation, I would only owe $34.50 + a $24 administration fee for a total of $58.50. I walked out of there, getting nothing more than I wanted, for a charge of $76.15. As for the lock, I did ask where I would ever use THAT type of lock again (a round cylindrical one that fits into THEIR SPECIFIC DOOR LOCK and he stated "everyone is going to those." Really? I have never so much as even SEEN one! I am now paying for rental as of today, January 28th (a full day!), 29th, 30th and 31st, 2016 when I didn't WANT to start using this before February 1st. Why can't you sign a contract to rent the unit; then go in and get your keys on the date you wanted to START renting it? The insurance makes me the maddest.....THAT charge should NEVER occur IF you are indeed covered by your own homeowners policy. And why couldn't he have offered to hold that paperwork and payment charge UNTIL I got back a couple of hours with it? Gouging is the only reason I can think of. THIS was not customer service. He kept telling me he only worked there - corporate made him do what he was doing..they make the rules. THAT is no excuse. There are too many storage places available in this area to be treating customers with such disrespect. Aly was pleasant enough, but a very fast talker, and treated me as if he needed to get me out of their office fast. In regard to the actual facility, it appears to be very clean and well maintained. There were others there unloading a unit; so perhaps things will be better once I get this insurance mess straightened out. (Had the paperwork they emailed me told me anything about insurance, I would have been more prepared with my paperwork in hand -- it says NOT ONE WORD.) Just be prepared when you go there and know what MAY happen to you, as it did to me. I am still sitting here in my house waiting for 2 people from PUBLIC STORAGE to return my messages from and hour ago. Good luck! read more

This review is an update to previous review under Ma F...I was very disappointed with Public Storage, but the next day I got a call from Phil apologizing for the situation, and after further review of the extenuating circumstances the management at Public Storage had decided to refund the amount that I paid to the collection agency. Most important of all...they are revising their policy and making it more clear as to prevent this from happening again. When Phil called he was very polite and courteous. I was pleased with my stay with Public Storage, and now I feel like I was taken care of like a person and not just another account number. April was helpful and informative during my rental time. When I told her that we would be moving out, she politely educated me that Public Storage prorates the rent up until the 2nd of the month. I had vacated the space by 7:20 pm on the 2nd of April. I also left a voicemail confirming this. On April 5th I received a bill for the full month. When I called to dispute this, I was given 4 different contact numbers, which I called each one leaving messages requesting call backs. After a week passed, I called ALL 4 NUMBERS AGAIN...no response from anyone...UNTIL...I received a letter from a collections agency generated on May 6th. I called Public Storage again to find out that a new district manager was there, but on a conference call and would have to call me back. After waiting an hour, I drove to Public Storage on Power Rd. and asked to speak to the manager. After waiting 45 minutes listening to him joke and chat on the phone, Phil informed me that the prorate is a courtesy, and that he couldn't do anything to help my situation. He did not once apologize for their lack of customer service, their negligence in returning my phone calls , or even for making me wait for 45 minutes to speak to him. I have always paid my bills early or in advance, so being sent to a collection agency within a month really infuriates me! I immediately paid off the balance after speaking with Phil. I highly recommend you choose some other storage facility, especially if you don't want a negative mark on your credit report!!!
