This is a wonderful storage facility! I've been a tenant for 4 years now and ive never had an issue with security or cleanliness. So far, so good. Used this place back when it was EZ Storage. Needing safe storage again while we downsize one last time I hope! DO NOT use public storage in Columbia. Everything I own is covered in mold because they do not know how to properly set their climate control. Insurance will not cover it because there is no visible water leak. The staff couldn't care less. I lost thousands of dollars worth of furniture. This location is the worst I've ever dealt with. Y'all got to meet staff? lol I showed up on the night of my reservation after calling twice to find out if I can access my storage after hours... turns out YOU CANNOT. I never received a call back, I left at least one voicemail. When I came back the next day there was again nobody on site and I was short on time before they closed so I was nervous and had no idea where to even look for my unit. It took me a bit to realize there is a second building behind the main one. Very secure but like others mentioned, an extreme hassle to move in and out of. Especially if you're by yourself like I was. Otherwise my unit was clean, and not having to check-in with anyone to gain access was convenient! But DAMN not being able to access my stuff outside of "office hours" is extremely inconvenient. read more

Worst place ever. Rude staff, no consideration for others, and they play a lot of games if you ever need any type of assistance. Not the place to go if you're struggling. They cut locks a day late and make you buy another one of there's. I've had 3 cut so far. Do NOT rent a unit in their new building on Berger Rd in Columbia, MD!! Every item I had is now covered in mold, and I've spoken with multiple people with units there and same story. Some have lost thousands of dollars worth of property. Their units are advertised as climate controlled but they are absolutely not. Insurance won't cover it unless it was caused by a discoverable water leak (there is no water leak). read more

The customer service is a joke. We rented a unit, arrived and the entry code wasn't working so we called to have it reset and they did it for us over the phone. We realized the unit wasn't big enough, so we purchased another unit through the app. For some reason they revoked our access to BOTH units after we completed the purchase of the second unit, so we called again. The woman said there was nothing she could do and we would have to wait for the onsite property manager who wasn't arriving for two more hours. Then she tried to just hang up the phone when we asked for clarification as to why we couldn't access either unit when we just had access to the first. Would not recommend. read more

Do not rent from Owings mills public storage if you want any peace of mind. There a scam, they will steal your money. No one never answers their phone. The will try to place holds on your belongings ahead of you being past due for preparation in case you miss a payment. They also have made everything automated where your unable to speak to a person at headquarters to resolve misinterpretation and unlawful business practices read more

My fiance and I were exhausted after loading our two loaner vehicles full of stuff, from our 3rd floor walk-up. When we got to the PS, we had no idea it would be so easy. Large loading bay doors you can almost back up to, easy to use, and a few handcarts to make the move all the easier. The eRental process was easy too. This is the worst storage unit I have ever been to. The movers and I first arrived the elevator was full of belongings I called down to the office and she came up and about 5 minutes . The employee stated those items were on the elevator the day before . We had to move the items off the elevator and put them to the side. I don't mind security but it's ridiculous when you have a lot of items and you have to constantly answer the code for the elevator to open . I understand but it was a lot. ​ when I got home around 6:00 or 7:00 at night someone from the public storage unit called me and tried to accuse the movers and myself that we left items and allow you when those items was already in the elevator when we arrived. She kept trying to tell me it was my mother things but I knew it wasn't because I already complain about those same items. I would never ever use the storage unit again and I don't recommend them to anyone else . read more
