I submitted a request through his website to help unload my U-Haul, and he responded within a few hours with a clear overview of his team's availability for my preferred date (I gave 12 days' notice) and a very reasonable quote. His communication was consistent, and he provided a confirmation email and phone call the day before the job. On moving day, his team arrived on time and quickly assessed the route to my third-floor apartment, which involved a narrow and winding staircase. Alexander gave me a heads-up that my couch and large chest might not fit, but he and Saul immediately began delegating and managed to find several creative solutions. They worked skillfully and fast, and made sure I was comfortable with them taking apart and reassembling my bed frame, couch, and the metal railing on the staircase. Everything made it upstairs! I underestimated how much I would be bringing in my original quote and the job took an hour longer than we had expected, but they are earnest, patient, and diligent professionals who handled everything efficiently and with care. Thank you, Alexander and Saul, for your hard work making this process as smooth as possible. This is a great company that does a great job. They were recommended by our realtor when we bought…read morea new place in Cleveland Park, DC. We had a lot going on so we needed a company that could completely pack and move us with as little hassle as possible. They came to our old place and reviewed and inventoried every item. We have a lot of art and a particularly unique glass table. They gave us a quote that was significantly higher than any of the other movers, but we chose them for several reasons. 1. The actually came out to understand what they were moving 2. They explained how they would handle the art and glass table 3. They stated that all their workers we salaried employees with no day laborers 4. It turned out that the guy who came out had gone to school with my daughter so we made a nice connection The day before the move they came out and did all the packing. We were impressed by the efficiency of the team, their speed and their unity. The day of the move they showed up on time and got to work. Again very efficient and effective. They packed everything in about 3 hours. We we got to the new place they again were super efficient. Even though I paid a ton of money, I ended up giving each mover a $20 tip. According to them, although they are employed by the company they don't get a ton of benefits and they wish they got higher wages. Still the fact that most of them had been with the company several years and that the got along well tells me they were being treated well. As we unpack we are finding out just how much paper they used to pack everything. This meant that nothing broke, but it also means I have a landfill worth of paper to throw away (recycle). Bottom line was that it was a great experience. The reason I did not give them the 5 stars is cost. Ultimately I don't regret it and will definitely come back to them for any future moves, but hopefully I will be able to negotiate a little better in the future.

These are the only movers I've used in the almost decade I've been in Maryland. I have used them 8…read moretimes, including 3 times in one 12 month leasing period from hell (see my other reviews). All I can compare them to is other people's reviews of other companies and I can also compare their estimates to the estimates I have proactively received from other companies. They're damn good at what they do. I usually only require two movers because I am one person with very few belongings and also very few heavy items. The last couple of times, three guys have shown up. I was not happy about this, because I thought it would raise the cost. It raised the cost by about 75 dollars on average. But it's hard for me to complain because they are so fast. Typically they load the truck in a little over an hour and unload in even less time, but during my most recent move the unload was a little over an hour because of some elevator issues at the new place. But they persevered. Part of it is the tools they use when they move you (seems like every moving company has them, but theirs are particularly clever and effective). If they have to pack anything of yours, they will charge you extra: tape, boxes, etc., about 3 dollars per item (yes inflated pricing). I have learned over the years, and my most recent move was nearly perfect because I had everything done. I was very annoyed when they pulled out their packing tape and used it anyway for multiple purposes, but at least I wasn't charged for any boxes. The estimates are consistent, and consistently some of the best I've ever received. Including tips, my moves have never cost more than $750. In the past, they used to make you put down a deposit of about 50-100 dollars, so on moving day, your final balance would be not so bad. These days it seems like they just take the full amount on moving day. Not my preferred method. The heftier deposit before moving day gave me a greater feeling of savings/"ooh, good deal!". A psych trick, but it , worked. For my last several moves, the price has slowly been ticking up, so I now get estimates from at least 2 other places to compare. To be fair, one of the last 8 moves was a relatively last minute move (for me) and I needed someone to move me two weeks in the future: that was the highest amount I've ever paid them. The estimate was 100 dollars more than I expected, and I was not happy. The only reason I didn't grumble much is because my landlord paid 80% of the costs and the place where I was living was horrible and they were moving me relatively last minute. Regardless, I now ensure I come with estimates from other companies. For the first time recently, their estimate wasn't the best. I returned to them and we were able to come to a compromise. The customer service is very good. They have several reps, but Erika is my favorite. Y'all. Erika is my ride or die, basically-on-a-first-name-basis, customer service rep! I have used another guy once maybe two moves ago, and some other guy maybe 4 years ago. Nope: I want Erika. She's just calm, organized, and never gives you the impression that you are getting screwed over or manipulated. She is a straight shooter, and I appreciate that. For the most recent move, I asked them to come at 10:00 am, but for some reason Erika put me down for 8:00 am (probably because 7 of the last 8 times I moved at 8). But when Erika said they had me down for 8, I wasn't sweating it, no problem: anything for Erika. Erika, if you read this, you are amazing and don't ever change! My primary complaint about this company is they are always late. LOL. I mean 7 of the last 8 times, they have been late. When I first used them back in 2012, I was freaked out by this. They were like 45 min-60 min late. That's nothing to sneeze at, that's a LONG time. But they're just so fast at loading, I let it go. When I had them move me last minute, they were on time for the first time: actually slightly early. For the most recent move, they were 45 minutes late. Had they arrived on time most recently, we probably would have avoided some of the elevator problems at the destination, but whatever: it worked out. A secondary complaint is that I have had three things become damaged or go missing on three occasions out of 8 moves. In the first move, an adapter for an Ikea lamp was lost. Without the adapter I couldn't use the lamp, so I threw it away after trying to get a replacement adapter. In the 7th move, someone grabbed my bureau/chest by one of the drawer handles, and broke the handle: they cleverly stuck it back on so I wouldn't think it was broken. Nice try, didn't work, guy. During the most recent move, a glass bowl broke. However, I do not fault them for this one: I remember packing that box and I should have wrapped that bowl in more than one sheet of paper. I still trust these guys to move my stuff. TL; DR: These movers have a track record of getting me moved fast and inexpensively with minimal damage.

Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience…read more I had the unfortunate experience of being misled and ultimately abandoned by your company when you decided not to honor my scheduled moving service. Instead of being transparent, I was lied to, the claim was you all needed "five minutes" to look into rescheduling for the next day only to walk out and never return. There was no explanation, no courtesy of a conversation, and no regard for the fact that I urgently needed to move within the next two days. During our initial discussion, I clearly communicated my time-sensitive situation and I had no prepared myself to the standard in which you need me to be in order to provide me with your services that should have been clearly communicated. As a first-time customer using this or any moving company, I expected professionalism and basic respect. Instead, I was left without warning or resolution, forced to scramble for alternatives at the last minute. A simple, honest response such as, "We're unable to provide service today" would have been far more professional and understandable than outright deception and abandonment. I will never recommend your company to anyone, and I am deeply disappointed by the disrespectful treatment I received.

The process of getting a firm quote was straightforward and quick. Pricing was reasonable for the DC area as well. We'd packed all contents, so when Phillip and Brian arrived, it was on like Donkey Kong. They moved quickly and efficiently despite the fact that one of my neighbors was rude to them and made them repeatedly to move their truck from one spot to another to accommodate her. They couldn't have been nicer or more careful with my belongings. All furniture was blanket wrapped and secured for the trip to my new apartment. Everything arrived safely - no new scratches or missing parts. Start to finish, they moved me in less than two hours. Then they carefully reassembled my bed and moved the furniture to the spots I requested. I think this company is as good as it gets. Not like the quickie part time people listed on Craigslist. This s a real business and they insure your belongings in case you do have a damage claim. I highly recommend them: 240-516-6759 Yes, I am a real person, getting no financial benefit from writing this glowing recommendation and no - most of my reviews are not this glowing!

I used these guys twice (first time experience was great) second time which was most recently it was HORRENDOUS....I am writing now because I am sitting on a bed that was NOT assembled properly - these guys took advantage of us at the last minute and demanded more money than they had initially quote by about $700 - They also demand CASH or say they will charge you about 5% extra if you use a credit card/debit card. They are UNPROFESSIONAL - they refused to move certain items to certain rooms (stating they didn't want to un-assemble certain things & then assemble them again - um that is one of the services they highlight on their site). They also broke about 5-6 items and didn't seem too concerned about it - these guys got paid what they demanded and when they left we discovered that some of the rooms weren't assembled properly - why is my bed still not assembled properly? They propped up the adjoining night stand using a box underneath it (in which I discovered later) they never even screwed in the nightstand to the bed and didn't assemble the bed together properly to begin with. They are MORE worried about getting to their next move than actually caring about the customer they are helping now. Basically, Don't use them - they will unfairly quote you a price and then when they start moving they will say that they weren't aware of all of the furniture (even though I explicitly filled out their spreadsheet) and will demand more money - in my case they demanded $700 additional dollars - I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau of Maryland.
