Sadly they were unable to fix it(I blame Xbox for poor design) but the tech George put in many days trying everything to fix the problems. Worst service ever - avoid this place if you can. We hired them to simply link a computer to our server and they linked it to the wrong server. When told of their mistake, they promised to come and fix it but after 3 months, they have failed to do so. TERRIBLE!! WORST PLACE TO REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER!!!!! I took my laptop in for an LCD problem I was having (gray screen, wide vertical lines). I had done research and had an idea of what it could be. I had gotten my LCD replaced here before and they did an good job, so I thought since they installed the LCD they might know what the problem is. So next thing I knew they are calling me telling me my mother board is dead and that it would be around $500 to fix. That was a shocker because I had never had a problem with anything but the LCD! I told them I wouldn't go through with the repair and went to pick it up. I decided to fix it myself and to my surprise my keyboard wasn't working and more than half of my laptop screws were MISSING!!! I checked my keyboard and noticed they didn't even bother connecting it, such a simple thing to do and that is probably why they claimed it was the mother board. Once I figured out that it was only the video cable that was bad and only set me back about $20. After that experience I NEVER want to return to this place again. I called this company because my laptop needed repair and described the problem over the phone. It was a power supply/electrical issue and they gave me a phone estimate of $99. When I brought the laptop in, they checked it out, told me the laptop was fine and it just had a faulty power cord which they replaced for less than $32. The guy who waited on me was very helpful and explained some things and answered all my questions. I was very happy to find an honest shop that didn't rip me off for some unnecessary repair and will certainly use them again. read more

Incompetent, ruined my laptop. Dropped off for diagnostic, told me it was a bad motherboard, then they told me once they got the motherboard that it was the screen also. They told me that they could only find a used screen, I payed extra to get the nicest one they could find. over a month later, I recieved the laptop back, with white splotches over the screen. I called them and they stated they thought they were "pressure marks" on the screen and they would go away. FYI, if it's a TOUCHSCREEN covered in GORILLA GLASS, it will never have "pressure marks". After admitting they sent me computer back with a KNOWN BAD screen, I also noticed how slow it was. When I sent the laptop in, it had 16GB of ram, when I got it back, it only had 8. I accepted a credit, since I was just happy to have my laptop back and I THOUGHT I could just buy more memory for it. I take the laptop with me on vacation and noticed the screen looked different, and checked the screen resolution and saw it was only 1920x1080, not the original 4k from when I dropped it off. I also tried to install the memory, and two different stick of memory were not detected in laptop, so I could not go back to 16GB of ram. I called again to complain, and was offered another credit, I told them that I just wanted a refund since the laptop is now completely ruined. I was told I had to "Please my case" to the owners, since apparently none of my issues have been entered in the service notes, how convenient. So I had to write a whole new e-mail to the owners, and wait to find out if my wish would be granted. I was told I would receive my refund once my poor laptop was shipped back to them at my cost. So I shipped it off to them and told them to keep it, since it was ruined now, and I had no idea what condition it would be in if they shipped it back. So after almost 6 weeks of work and $800 in repairs (which they did finally credit me back) I was left with a credit on my card for less than half the original cost of the laptop and no laptop. I never received any response from the owners, never an apology, and I had to initiate everything, probably because nobody was actually recording anything that happened in the service notes. If they ever work on your laptop, you better make sure everything is the same as you left it. read more

My computer has all of my business info, back up of my phone, all my music, pictures, basically a lot of important items to me. My laptop was having troubles, it was getting over heated. It was basically getting so hot it would shut off by itself. This would freak me out, I didn't want to loose everything. I backed them all up, but then again I just got this laptop 1 1/2 years ago and I didn't want to loose the laptop either. I came here on advice from friends and yelp. I was greeted with a smile and "How can we help you?" I told them the problems they replied they could take a look at it. It would be $49.99 and that went toward the total costs. They said they would have an answer in 2 business days or for an additional $50 dollars they could have an answer for me in about 4 hours. Well I paid the additional $50 and on my form asked that I be called, not e-mailed with updates. 3pm came and left. I called after 3:30pm to see what was happening, they said the technician was still looking at it. I called back at about 6pm and they said that the issue was it needed to be cleaned and they were waiting for an approval, so I said go for it, (an additional $40), and they said it should be done by 2pm the next day. I went the next day and picked it up about 1:30pm. Now when I checked my e-mail, I found e-mails with updates and saying it was waiting for approval and that it was ready to be picked up. Thank God I called. I don't doubt that they will get the job done and the rates seems okay. However it just adds to the frustration when they don't contact you the way you asked to be contacted. If my PC crashed I would come here, but then again a Mac is also looking pretty tempting in about a year.... read more

Pro Computers is the only place to go to when you are having problems with your computer. I took my laptop there because it was shutting off only after being on for a few minutes. The minute I walked in the door and told them about the problems I was having, they figured it out right away. The whole process took about 2-3 days from beginning to end. What I really like about them is their no-nonsense approach to doing business. You register on a computer at the front desk and it automatically creates an invoice for you and they give you the option of being notified with updates either by phone or email. It was nice to actually receive periodic emails about the status of my laptop without having to call and find out. Even before I had time to think about when it would be ready to be picked up, I got an email telling me it was ready. The prices are SO reasonable. You pay a $49 diagnostic fee and once they determine the problem, and if you choose to go with them, they will discount th $49 from the total cost of repair. I definitely feel that I got my money's worth and they're not out to scam you you or over charge you. They are a great business that truly seems to value their customers. My computer is working better now than when I first bought it! I definitely recommend PRO COMPUTERS! Don't bother going anywhere else! read more

These guys are lifesavers! I admit it is a little pathetic of me to declare my life was ruined when my computer doesn't work, but it sort of was! Long story. ANYWAY, I've fortunately only had relatively easy fixes for the guys at PRO Computers (DC jack repair, stuff like that), but from other reviews, I would certainly trust them with more complicated problems. Everyone I have talked to in the shop seems nice, knowledgeable, and honest. I brought my laptop in around Jan 1, and they appeared to be busy with a lot of other computers, so i was told it would be several days before they could work on mine. But then I got a phone call and an email two days later letting me know my laptop was saved and ready for pickup! Surprisingly fast, which was nice. I thought $99 was a little expensive for what I needed done, but I had the option of paying in two installments and it was done so fast I didn't mind in the end. Also, I don't have any idea of what computery repairy things cost (this sentence should indicate my general lack of technical ability) so maybe $99 is totally fair. I referred my bf over here because their website said they bought computers for parts and his new-ish Dell laptop was such a POS he decided to ust get rid of it. Unfortunately they were not purchasing, but he said they offered him some advice on how to give it another shot at home. Overall, I like this shop a lot. They are right in the neighborhood, seem very cool, and do a nice job! read more

I can't thank PRO enough. I had a Seagate External Hard that just die on me. I didn't drop it and it get wet, it just died. (By the way, I have spoken with several computer repair specialist and they have told me that this is common problem with Seagates.) I first took my external hard drive to the Tek Guyz. And while they offered a cheaper price to fix my external drive, after a week they were unable to do anything. I then took it PRO. It did take PRO a couple weeks to get the information off my external hard drive, but they did recover 99.9% of the files on my drive. The reason it took a couple of weeks was that my external hard drive had to be taken apart. Most of the stuff on my hard-drive I could care less about but there were pictures of my wife and family that I didn't have anywhere else that I just couldn't lose. Recovering files from external hard-drive is not a cheap expenditure, no matter where you go. But compared with other places, the price to fix my external was reasonable and at the end of the day they got the job done. My only complaint was that I had to call a few times to get an update on the status of the repair. read more

Thank you PRO for saving my work laptop! I spilled an entire glass of water onto the keyboard/ mouse pad area and it made some scary crackling noises and shut itself down. After recovering from a spell of panic, I took the battery out, put several fans on it for a few hours, and called PRO. They did a free inspection and quote. After calling around I found out that many service shops don't repair the kind I have, PRO Computers ordered the parts needed to fix it and had it up and running in just a few days! I go from the south side to Pro because of their excellent service. Often they can provide same day service for minor issues or, as in my recent issue, replace a hard drive within a day. The guys were also able to get me back on line with my e.mail, and other setting problems I encountered to insure that the new hard drive was up to speed. My external hard drive stopped working out of blue, and I nearly had a heart attack when other stores quoted a minimum of $700 and 4 days to extract the data. PRO fixed the problem by transferring the actual hard drive into a new external case. 24 hours for $90! Friendly customer service and impressive turnaround time. I cannot rate these guys highly enough. I brought a mysteriously non-functioning table-top custom built PC to PRO to diagnose what was wrong. I had previously sent the machine back to the manufacturer TWICE and they had failed to properly diagnose or fix the problem. Stephan replaced every single component in the box to isolate what was going on. Finally we found that there was an issue with the case, something the manufacturer itself had completely missed. He replaced every component in a new case and my new machine works perfectly now. When it came to paying the bill, he wanted to charge me such an absurdly low fee that I actually had to demand that he add some cash to the bill so I wouldn't feel like I was cheating the shop. Seriously, if you have ANY problems whatsoever with your tech, take it here. The people are knowledgeable, extremely courteous, timely, and affordable. These guys are good. I have had problems with my wireless connection for some time. I have waisted days of time trying to figure it out. Finally, I got a clue and called these guys. Mike came right over. For $80 for 1 hour (no travel time charge) we found out that it was an internal problem. Mike took it back to the shop and I got a call that day to come and pick it up. First they diagnosed the motherboard problem with my laptop, and later they took care of software related problems with our Dell desktop.
