OMG--Prospect still SLAPS with the same DELICIOUS and AMAZING flavors as ever! I'm here for the popular Prospect burger and fries this time. Amazing! Service is top-notch and keeps getting better. If Jerry, your server, buckle up--you're in for a next-level dining experience! Plates come out looking like works of art--bright, colorful, and full of love. And the taste? Even better than the presentation. Every bite is a wow-moment. The wine list is selective, special, and impossible to mess up. Pick anything, and you'll be golden. The vibe is romantic, classy, yet super fun--exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger all night. I seriously LOVE everything about this place. Parking, though... that's the only adventure. Between the rideshare chaos and tight spaces, finding a spot--especially with a big car--is tricky. Pro tip: get here early before dinner hours, and with some patience, you'll find one. And trust me--it's 100% worth it once you're inside.

Recently came here for a work dinner and was quite impressed. I haven't been here in years (pre-pandemic) but the quality and service was as great as I remember it. For appetizers we ordered the honeynut squash ravioli, kale salad, and side of the Hokkaido milk bread. For my entree I ordered the coastal chanterelles and crispy hen of the woods mushrooms with scallops. Everything was delicious! The cocktails I ordered (sorry couldn't remember which ones) were also really good as well. Many patrons seemed to have just gotten off work so a nice atmosphere for our work dinner as well. Recommend!

Came here for a MBA Infosession hosted by Northwestern University. A swanky and lovely restaurant that's worthy of dates and special occasions. Would definitely come back here for other occasions.

Went to prospect for the first time. There were not any specials except for their Friday steak and fry special. I am confused as to the cut of beef. I ordered New York strip and got what I know to be a bavette. The waiter who dropped the plate said Filet Mignon - size to me was petite filet, and the beans and Bernaise sauce was flat. Also the mixatamal texture was like an undercooked bean. Best part of the meal was the salad

Came here for an anniversary dinner and it seemed like a lot of work dinners in Rincon Hill, but it also definitely had a few couples too. The lights were dimmed and it gave off a date night vibe. I enjoyed a Holiday cocktail and highly recommend the scallop risotto--I devoured it. Appetizers were good. Service was attentive and friendly and fast (as we had a show to get to after.)

We had reservations here on a weekday for dinner and the place is amazing! We came here after work and were allowed to leave our backpacks at the front. Walking into the restaurant, it felt super upscale which I didn't expect and was so happy. We ordered some appetizers which were the burchata and scallops. burchata - I think you can never go wrong with it and I loved the veggies that came with it. Overall, it was yummy! Filet - This is so yummy! I had mines cooked medium well and it came out perfectly. This place is yummy and perfect for an upscale feel; however, I don't find it amazing.

Prospect is located in San Francisco & opened in 2010 from James Beard award-winning Chef Nancy Oakes, Chef Pam Mazzola and Kathy King of Boulevard Restaurant a few blocks away. I had a business dinner with a colleague from India who spends more than 250 days traveling between India, NYC, Dubai and San Francisco. He has a very sophisticated palate given his world travels. We met for a mid week dinner meeting at Prospect during early December where the restaurant was packed with locals and visiting guest during the festive holiday season. The restaurant was deck the halls with bright lights inside and out; a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations. Very warm setting to bring in the holidays. Perfect. We order a nice glass of red wine and whiskey. I asked our server Travis for an entree recommendation and he said his favorite was the scallops risotto, roasted carrot puree, French round carrots, parmesan cheese pinenut relish, mirepoix butter. They were a beautiful presentation and very well prepared, delicious and amble portions. My guest partner order a filet mignon, tamari braised cippolini's, chive & parmesan potato cake, roasted romanesco horseradish cream, au poivre sauce and he really enjoyed it but needed a "go box" due to the portions. For desserts we asked Travis again for his recommendation given his entrée were perfect! He suggested the Pumpkin cheesecake and his favorite the Affogato ice cream sandwich espresso ice cream, dark chocolate cocoa nib cookies, fudge sauce. Magnificent! Bravo! It's been over 5 years since my wife had been to Prospect----same on us! We shall return soon to enjoy it's majestic cusine again the the near future!

Went here for a work team dinner and we had a great time. The vibe inside is very elegant, and feels upscale. Service was wonderful; the staff we interacted with were very knowledgeable about the menu and great about giving us specific recommendations. They also have complimentary coat and bag check, which is perfect if you're coming from the office. The food was pricey but impressed me a lot! I enjoyed pretty much everything we ordered. My favorites were the hokkaido milk bread with the whipped plum berry butter (so soft and flavorful!), the northern halibut (a small portion but surprisingly super filling), the grilled pork chop (very tender), as well as the braised duck & pork meatballs. Would definitely recommend this spot for a nicer celebratory dinner or date!

Tried this place for the first time and I have some mixed feelings. The management and staff are awesome. Even the patrons here are great, but the food on the other hand seems to need a little help. Whenever I see "Fried Chicken" on the menu I'll come a running. Especially when the menu on the website says "Fried Chicken Friday". The "Fried Chicken" came out quick, but not very warm as well the sides. My expectations was what I saw on the previous pictures, but I think the hot sauce and honey should have been on the side as there was no crunch and the breast was boneless another disappointment. The guests sitting next to me who are regulars said that the way it was made before was much better after noticing the disappointment in my face. lol I didn't know I made that obvious. I will try Prospect again, but I will try the burger and the steak as the regulars advised me.

The fries are amazing and my favorite dish of the night! I visited Prospect with a group of 7 and we enjoyed it. The ambiance was great. Service was good overall, with some slight misses. I think our server was new. I had the risotto with seared scallops and fries. They were both done very well, but the fries were the star of the show for me. My friends tried the sole, pork chop, and duck. They all loved their dishes! I would definitely return to Prospect and highly recommend.

Liberty duck- tough and lacked flavor

Ambiance- 5/5 Comfortable & spacious. Good looking bar area. . Service- 5/5 Professional & attentive without being intrusive. Wine-5/5 Hats off to Will, the Sommelier, for a good and wide selection, particularly by the glass. Food- 3.5/5 A bit disappointing. Started with a barely there Burrata app, but a tasty salad. If spending close to $18 for this appetizer, one would hope to have more than 1.25-1.5 bites of the Burrata when shared. The duck was subtle, perhaps close to lacking flavor. It seemed a bit tough even though it was cooked properly temperature wise... maybe it was related to how the breast was cut or maybe we just got a duck that worked out too much in the open field ? The grilled octopus was delicious- a clear winner of the evening. In fact, dipping some of the duck into the octopus sauce made the duck fantastic! The Hokkaido milk bread was soft and airy- reminiscent of the Hawaiian sweet bread. Glad we ordered this last, more due to curiosity- otherwise we would have been filled up with bread before the dinner.

Halibut Crudo. Very tasty with a slight spiciness that fit right in.
    Lupe M.

Service was great! Starting with the host who greeted us and sat us soon after I told him I was unable to use OpenTable due to glitch to make a reservation. Once we sat down, our waiter, was very friendly. He took our drinks accommodated our need for a timely order and brought us our drinks. Once the appetizers got there, my palette fell in love with their steak tartare was impressive. The halibut crudo was refreshing and delicious. I can't speak highly enough of their two Mezcal cocktails.... Delicious. I will definitely go back for a full sit down dinner.

Parking is a challenge in Noe Valley so it took us a few minutes to find a spot on the street approx a block away. We were warmly greeted on arrival at the restaurant by Mariana - the charming hostess, & led to our table at the far end of the restaurant. The space is not too big so the tables are strategically arranged, making it a little narrow squeeze navigating between tables when people are seated. The decor is lovely & the place has a very pleasant ambiance. Our server Marley - a friendly young man who was very accommodating of all our requests. We were presented with complimentary warm delicious bread rolls & butter. We ordered the momos, which we had read all about on the Yelp reviews, & they certainly didn't disappoint. The sauce that accompanied the momos was so delectable, I had to request for another serving of bread to sop it all up! We also ordered the charred brussel sprouts & toasted grape salad and the gems of California beets salad - both were beautifully presented & combined a delicious blend of flavors. The food was amazing, the service attentive! We didn't want to have too big of a meal since we were heading to a show at the Herbst Theatre after dinner so we didn't order entrees or desserts. We plan to go back again soon. I would recommend trying out this neighborhood gem.

The pricing initially feels reasonable at $52/person, but note there's also a 20% gratuity plus a 6% living wage surcharge, so the real total ends up closer to $66 before any extra drinks. Overall: probably a 3/5 for the food itself, closer to a 3.5 when factoring in service and value.

The San Francisco burger scene has caught up, and Nopa's burger has lost its specialness...but that doesn't mean Nopa has. Nopa opened in 2006 inside a converted bank - high ceilings, a massive bar, a communal table, just - awesome vibes. From day one it became an industry restaurant - One of the few spots in the city where you could show up late night, order off a menu that changes daily, and know the food is going to be dialed in. They specialize in wood-fired cooking, which is why their thick cut, brined pork chop with baked beans is so popular - and...it's good, but their fried chicken is quickly becoming their best seller and THAT, was PERFECT. Crispy skin, juicy underneath, seasoned beautifully. But the dish that so perfectly encapsulates what Nopa is...was this salad. Just trout, and whatever was good at the farm that week. That's Nopa.
