Won't be returning to pro nails. What a waste of money!! I got a gel mani last Monday, it looked well enough...maybe a bit thin. They started chipping after about three days. I had traveled from Truckee so it took a few days before I could get in for repairs. By the time I was able to go in (Sunday) 7 of the nails were noticeably chipped. They repaired them in about 15 minutes, but they didn't bother to match the accent nail (see photo) the nail tech didn't even ask me if that was ok...she just shrugged and said she couldn't find the right color as she was painting the nail. I went there Saturday October 13th to get my nails done by Klein. I got powdered dipped nails. Throughout the whole process I was thinking to myself "what is she doing?" That in part is because I'm not familiar with the process but the other part is because they just looked horrible while they were being done. Klein also looked confused as to why the nails looked the way they did throughout the process. With that said the finished product was nice. .... but a few hours after my nails were done, they proceeded to chip... specifically the top coat. I called the next day asking if I come back would they redo the top coat for free. They agreed to have me come back and they would re do it. A gentleman (I'm not sure of his name) proceeded to do the top coat on all my nails. He had me put my nails under the UV light and the nail polish came out bubbled. He looked disappointed and confused. So then Klein came to redo them and they look even worse than the first outcome. I'm very disappointed. Be weary of the snide one star reviews left for this salon. I've been for a polish spa pedi ($30) twice and both times I've had great experiences. On both occasions, the nail techs have been incredibly gentle when cutting my nails and trimming my cuticles where I've paid $60 for the same service at other salons and have been left with bloody toes. Likewise, the polish job is always nice, even and stays put even after hiking, biking, jogging etc. As far as salon hygiene goes I have never had an experience where I haven't had a new pumice stone or clean equipment used on my feet. The staff is friendly, polite and talkative. My sole compliant was how crowded the back of the salon was. As I near the end of my 3rd pregnancy, I am exhausted and today I found myself needing some me time. I made an appointment for a pedicure at Pro Nails and was not disappointed. They were ready for me when arrived a few minutes prior to my appointment. They have a wide array of colors to choose from and I quickly found an appropriate shade. The chair was very comfortable and reclined at just the right angle for my liking. The massage aspect of the chair was similar to other chairs I've used - it was nice for a while but I was kind of glad when it timed out and stopped. The water for the foot soak was nice and hot. The massage was good. My nails look nice and I'm hopeful they will last a few weeks. Overall really good experience and I would come here again. read more

This was my very first time coming here and I actually liked it. 1) It was the 3rd nail salon I had went to that day, all others were busy and said they could not take me (clearly a busy day) but despite them being busy they worked it out and took me in! Immediately upon entering the establishment, I let the woman at the front know that I was waiting for my aunt as we had scheduled an appointment for the both of us. I was early so I had resolved to wait in the front for her. I brought my friend as well to see if she could do a walk in, which the woman agreed. As we sat down to wait for my aunt this lady kept telling us to come back as the water was ready. I had to explain several times that I was waiting for my aunt. The woman became angry and rudely demanded that we go to the back and wait. All she had to do was tell us that we could wait in the back without getting started for my aunt to arrive. The actual pedicure was a nice experience. My feet look good, but the girl painting my friend's nails painted little flowers on her toes, failing to mention that it was an additional $5 charge, nor did she ask if she wanted them in the first place. She also kept digging into her big toe despite my friend telling her how much it hurt! Yeoch! After ringing up my pedicure the man who conducted mine blatantly asked for a tip in cash. I witnessed employees of this business bully one of their staff. She was chastised for being 2 minutes late in front of customers. The credit card machine was taking a while to ring up my charges and another employee pretended to hit her in the back because it was taking "too long". This poor lady looked miserable there, and it was obvious that they were all very disrespectful to her. She did a wonderful job on my nails, and I made sure to tell them that she does a great job. Part 1: The horror I encountered in this salon surpassed all notions of business ethics in Reno. I was a regular customer of this salon. Yes, I understood that this salon is far from professionalism, but I put up with it, since living in Reno for 15 years, I came across only Vietnamese nail salons, where the quality was at a low level everywhere. I thought maybe Reno was a small town and so it didn't have a good nail service industry. I have been to many countries and seen many different nail salons where people of different nationalities worked and there was healthy competition between salons, so the services were of high quality and the prices were much lower than in Reno. But in Reno, I only came across Vietnamese nail salons. So, I endured. It so happened that the last few times in this salon I was served by the owner of this salon Kien Tchen. She introduced herself to me as a high-class specialist and began to serve me. It was more like not a manicure, but an obstacle course. During the session with Kien, one of her hands held the phone, the other recorded clients in a notebook, she now and then ran somewhere, distributed commands to her subordinates and constantly talked with them about something in Vietnamese. When I managed to insert a word, my wishes were either rejected or an additional price was asked. I agreed to everything, but at the same time Kien pretended that I was asking her for something indecent, and when we finally agreed on a price, she did it with great favor and contempt. I endured. But the last time, after paying $ 90, five days after the service, the gel polish began to peel off. I am not a beginner and I know that such a polish will simply never come off on its own, to remove it requires special equipment in the salon. I was unable to arrive on the same day that I got lacquered as my car was under repair, so I arrived a week later as soon as I picked up the car. To my request to correct this mistake, Kien responded with a sharp refusal. I asked why, she replied that I arrived in two weeks. I explained that my car was under repair. She said she didn't care. I reminded her that I am a regular customer of this salon and deserve respect and indulgence. Kien said I could find another salon. Then I asked a refund for the disgusting quality of her service, she began to accuse me of being to blame for the fact that the polish peeled off my nails. I asked how this could happen, maybe she thought I was holding my hands in acid? It was completely absurd! Then she began to demand to get out of her salon. I replied that for such an attitude towards the client, for the use of low-quality materials and for deceiving the consumer, I have every right to file a lawsuit against her salon. I asked for documents for the labor activity of the salon. But Kien did not provide me with documents for the salon and only rudely kicked me out. I said I knew my rights and would stay in the salon until I got the documents. Then Kien threatened me with the police. I said that I would only be glad to see the authorities, as they would help me find the "secret documents" of this "amazing" salon. When the policeman arrived, to my surprise, he didn't even listen to me, he only listened to Kien. They talked for a long time, and when I asked what was wrong, the policeman began to talk to me as a criminal threatening all of humanity. I noted that I know my rights, and that any business in Nevada is obliged to provide the client with all documents relating to the business. He demanded that I leave the salon. I said that I did not violate anything, I sat quietly, I did not insult anyone, I was just waiting for documents. Then he called his partner, and they took me outside to the joyful smiles of the whole Vietnamese salon. And then the inexplicable began. I didn't resist, I didn't swear, I was unarmed, I'm a 58-year-old woman, but two strong police officers began to twist my arms, and eventually broke my left arm and injured my right. At this point, I didn't say a word, realizing that if I squeaked, they would strangle me like Floyd's African American. It was some kind of demonstrative punishment in front of the whole salon and a warning, if I stick my nose into the holy of holies of this salon, then not only my arm will be broken, but also read more

I have never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. The minute I stepped in the staff was rude and it went downhill from there. Getting a full set of acrylics with polish on top, they cut my actual finger when they were shaving the acrylic down. It was fine for a while but when I looked after I took them off there was a blister forming by where I had been cut. The cut had become an infection from the tools and my skin was peeling off it was so painful I went to the doctor to see what was wrong. I had to get antibiotics and luckily my nail and my finger healed. One of a few that do real liquid gel nails! Hard to find in Reno! I highly recommended this shop. Girls all do a great job.

I really love laurel's nail I think she does good quality work for the price she charges. She always gets me and my roommate in for fills and I'm even going to have her do my nails for my wedding. The shop is clean and they sanitize after ever client. They are very friendly in this shop and very welcoming. I recommend this place 100% and have been going back since my first set. Laurel also does hard gel sets instead of acrylic which is so much better for your nails in the long run. read more

i showed manicure design that i wanted and she said yes she could do it. when she clearly couldn't. the design looks horrible, the shape of my nails are messed up and i was rushed to pick my colours. i don't understand that if you can't do what the customer asks why can't you just say no and i could've asked for something else instead of my nails looking like shit? now i'll probably have to o somewhere else to get them fixed. pretty sure it was the manager who worked on my nails; you'd think the manager cares about making sure their customer gets a good service but she did not read more

I've been going to Pro Nails for about 10 years now, and I've always had good service until recently. I asked for the "dip" (SNS) for my nails, and it was my first time getting it done so I didn't know the exact process. I had a pedicure first and the water was at best lukewarm. I asked for more hot water and was told they ran out of hot water. Then it came time to get my nails done and as I said I had asked for SNS (even told them when I had made my appointment). I was told to soak my hand/fingers (in cool water). My cuticles were trimmed back quickly. Then something like a clear polish was applied to my nails. Kien had me dip my fingers in the powder and would apply glue (according to her) in between each "dip" in the powder. After all the dipping in the powder she applied a clear coat and had me put my hands under the lights (the same ones used when I get gel/Shellac). I had my nails done on Saturday and on Monday (the first picture) several nails had already cracked. Today is Friday and several of my nails have cracked and chipped. Kien told me everyone is different on how this process reacts to their nails - but the fact that two days after I had my nails they cracked, and my pedicure was less than desirable- I am really disappointed. I was getting my nails done for my wedding anniversary celebration trip, and as much fun as I had on my trip I was still upset about how bad my nails looked. I have been going here to get my nails done for the past 7 years. Their prices are affordable. The quality of their work is consistently satisfactory. The salon itself is always kept clean. The tools and equipment are always clean and they actually sanitize everything like nail salons are suppose to. They've obviously kept me coming back for good reason. Please read reviews prior to offering this salon your business. I paid a large sum for a full set. The tech clearly needed more experience, even for as little as adding foil. She did not take the time to trim cuticles and filed my nails down without inquiring. I. Order to shape, she cut into the side of the nails. I made repeated calls regarding my concern to I avail as the owner was never in the shop. Two days later I went out of town. Less than a weeks time of the manicure, nails were lifting and one actually popped off. When returning to town, spoke with the owner Er who claimed to be there on the days I phoned and "trusted her manicurists". After much to-do she agreed to repair and fill my nails her self however, at discounted cost. She refused to refund. Quality of work is extremely poor as is customer service. Your basic Reno nail salon. Made an appointment ahead of time with a friend for a regular pedicure. Both nail techs were not friendly and kept trying to up sale us on other services. The cost was $30 for a pedicure that was not worth more than $15. They rushed us out the door and asked us to pay before our nails even had time to dry. As we were getting out our cash for a tip (which we didn't want to give, but we are not shady) she stuck out her hand and said "Can I have it?" Very rude and unprofessional. Really disappointing pedicure experience especially when I scheduled the appointment. I asked for a French gel pedicure. My toe nails were cut way too short and rounded. The white tip was extremely thick, there was white polish all over the the part of my toe that's supposed to be nude/pink. I asked for her to thin out the white, and instead she began to remove everything entirely. She seemed to be in a rush due to another incoming appointment so they switched people half way through. Lacking confidence in being able to get a French pedicure at that point I asked to just have a solid color instead. The message was great, but I then got the wrong color and gave up trying to get what I wanted. I also had to remind them I asked for a paraffin wax and stone massage. They then charged me $10 for removing the gel that the First Lady had screwed up. It was just overall a really horrendous experience. Who charges someone to remove something THEY messed up? $75 pedicure that looks terrible, nowhere near the correct color I wanted and was overall a really painful and unpleasant experience. My friends and I were extremely excited to go to Pro Nails to get a full set of tips and a pedicure. Our total was was $70.00 each. This was outrageous for what we got. Their service was great, right when we walked in they sat us down. Some of the ladies working there were very forceful with handling our hands and feet. The ladies were very kind to us and made small talk. When it came to saying what we wanted in our nails they pretty much did what they thought would look better. We did not ask for designs on our toe nails but we got them. My toe nails are already starting to chip and it's only been a full day. I have given this salon 3 tries and have had an issue every time. In the times I have been there, I have been rushed, had a tech talk on her phone the entire time she was giving me my pedicure, made reservations for a group to have walk ins get seated before my group (which ended up splitting us up) made another reservation for a pedicure (deluxe) and they said halfway thru they didn't have time to do what I wanted done. Came to treat myself for graduation. I was uncomfortable from the second I stepped in and knew I should have turned around but went against my better judgement because a close friend actually sent me to this shop. I came in for a gel pedicure and it was a standard price of $40. They were very frantic and disorganized and helped a walk in that came in 20 minutes after me first while I waited In the chair. Everything was fine until she took out an extremely disgusting, stained, and clearly used pumice stone. I saw this and I'm immediately asked her to get me a knew one and i even offered to pay extra if i need and she snapped back surprised and confused at me and went to the back for a couple minutes then coming back out with a brand new purple pumice stone, all good... It was all downhill from there and I got the laziest pedicure I've ever gotten. Could have and should have done it myself my feet are still rough and nails were cut crooked. read more
