On a whim I decided it was time to go get back in the habit of having my nails done. Sitting at breakfast I looked for places not to far from where we were that could possibly take walk ins. I was surprised to see I could make an appt for 9 am and we were off. When we walked in and I saw the place I instantly knew I also wanted a pedicure also! Hannah was friendly, pleasant and did a great job, exactly as I requested to cut my nails short. She greeted me at the door as soon as I walked in and ushered me to a massage chair. I moved to Reno this March and this is probably the best pedicure I've ever gotten since I've been here! What made it so amazing was the massage.! The massage my feet and legs were creating! I believe her name was Leah or Lisha who did my pedicure. The only thing I noticed after, was that the tip of my nail is a little bumpy where it could be filed smoother and that way I would've gotten my toes in that very square shape I was looking for. But the lady who was doing my nails, said that my nails were already short that I could not get that very square appearance. And Sarah did my fill! My nails are always beautiful (a lot of compliments) and exactly the right length and shape every time. I moved to the Reno Downtown/Midtown area a year ago and this was the first salon I found and I will NOT look for another one. The salon environment is calm, beautifully decorated, and professional. I didn't mean to be a weary traveler walking into this salon, but I was. Due to a condition of my cheap flight, I had to wait almost 7hrs after dropping off my rental car to fly home. To pass the time, I decided to get a mani/pedi. I Uber'ed to one salon, but I was immediately not comfortable there and they had no availability for over an hour. I walked two businesses over to another salon, and it was appointment only. I walked over to a restaurant business and made some phone calls (4 to be exact), and all but Mizz Nailz were able to take me in as a walk in with no wait. When my Uber driver dropped me off I was already impressed with the area. Seemed like a nice, eclectic area with some boba and ice cream shops close by. Mizz Nailz is a bright and open salon with sparkly chandeliers and a wide array of polishes and powders to choose from. I was greeted right away, and was offered some color binders and some water to drink. While I didn't mean to be nosy, I did notice there was really good communication between the nail stylists and the clients, at all steps of the manicures or pedicures. Ms. Julie took care of me, doing both my spa gel pedicure and gel manicure. She did a great job with both. I like a rounded manicure, and I don't always get a real rounded nail, rather a roundy-squared nail. Ms. Julie got "the round" right, so yay for that! When she did my leg massage after my pedicure, she did this nice pressure point deal on my heals and it felt amazing! I would absolutely return to Mizz Nailz if I were in the Reno area again. read more

This place really does a great job with your nails and the work they do is fabulous! I've been twice now. The only thing is that they are pricey on their French gel no tips was pricey the last time I was in. They looked great but did not last. Which I was disappointed. I liked the location! In midtown, trendy, clean, love the decor! The nail tech I had did an awesome job :) love the way she took her time to ensure my nails looked amazing!
