Yesterday was my very first time coming here. One thing that most defiantly caught my attention was that they are very clean and they use new liners for every customer. Love that! I got my nails done by Tammy and not only was she quick but she did a really great job on my nails. They also offer water as soon as you walk in. They were quite busy yesterday so I would recommend to make a appointment ahead of time if you don't want to wait. Overall I like this place a lot and I think for my gel mani it was $27 which is bad at all. I would most defiantly be coming back now to get my nails done here! Love this place! Tried this place out based on prior reviews & when I first walked out of there... I LOVED how my gel manicure & pedicure came out! I had them do French tip on both. Tammy did my hands & it turned out so well, nice and square just how I like it! The lady who worked on my toes did a pretty average job, not enough for me to ask for her name though. Anyways... Fast forward to 3 days later. Very tiny chips on the tip of my French manicure (my index finger & my middle finger.) Tiny..but not small enough for them to go unnoticed. I found that to be very disappointing because obviously, the whole point of gel nails is the long wear. NOPE, fast forward to 5 days later & MORE chips!!! As of right now, It's only been 10 days since my mani/pedi & my gel manicure is basically dunzo.. & so are my toenails :( I should just have them removed at this point because as my nails grew out within this last week, the gel began to peel off at the base & it just looks horrible already. SUPER disappointed because I loved Tammy's work. But out of all the nail salons I've ever been to, this is the first time/place in which I've gotten my gel nails done & experienced this problem. I walked in here and was greeted and helped fairly quickly (it was out of luck). At first, sI was happy with their initial service and overall was able to communicate with them well. Sadly, they don't have a vast amount of colors and limited choices for matching gel with reg. The issue however happened 2 days later when my nails started to change color. I didn't think much of it. Then on the 4th day the gel started to peel. I went in for them to fix one nail and possible do a touch up on the color, this time no one approached me. As I shared what had happened, no one cared. I wasn't told to wait or sit or pick a color. Nothing. Then I approached them and said what should I do. They said it's a long wait. It was clear I was not welcome there. I started my search for this place by typing "best mani/pedi in Glendale" and Yelp popped up with a review for Pristine Nails & Spa. I read the review by Esther K. and it made me laugh while also completely relating to her experience. As I speak several languages I am not prone to worry about people chatting it up or laughing around me while communicating in Vietnamese, however, the majority of the nail salons I have tried, the continual banter in a tongue none of the customers know paired with giggling and carrying on I find to be down right rude. Esther K. was right. There was none of this exclusionary treatment during my visit. I made an appointment and they had me seated in a spa massage chair within five minutes of my appointment time and did a fine job on both my feet and hands. I was able to relax. Up high on the wall in front of me was a flat screen t.v. with General Hospital running. I felt nostalgic for the days I used to watch this soap with my grandmother, and shocked that Sonny is still on the show and looks the same as he did twenty years ago. Also, thanks to the reviews, I knew to bring my own polish. We will see how it lasts as they did use their base and top coat. My only criticism is that they use plastic bags to line the spa chair's foot tub. This practice cheapens the experience a bit for me even though it probably is more hygienic. This place is so much clean and great services. Eyelash extensions are much cheaper than anywhere else you can find. Not only that, but the eyelash extensionist will go over with you about how to take care of your lashes. Can't tell if my lashes are real or got it extensions, yet, it looks fully long and thick. I've been here about three times already and each time I've left very satisfied. Twice I've been here with an appointment and one time I was a walk-in. When I did make an appointment, they started on my nails the minute I walked in. The time I came in as a walk-in they also started on my nails within a couple of minutes, which is a huge plus! The service has always been great and everyone who's helped me has always done a great job on my nails. Currently, my nails have gel polish on and I got them done around January 20th, till now, they still haven't chipped, my nails have just started to grow out. I came in a treat yo self mentality. I got a mani/pedi after not going for a good year or so. Since I'm traveling, I went here because it was recommended. The place looks great. However, I felt rushed when picking my color. I had two people, one for my manicure and the other for my pedicure. The one doing my manicure seemed a little angry at life, and may have took it off on my cuticles (kidding)... But she was really working them and it would hurt, she actually clipped a little too much on my pinky that it bled and was sensitive after. The nail polish coating was even and everything was done within 30-45 minutes. I did feel a little rush to leave and when I paid, I ended up smudging some of my nail polish.... But the polish is still standing after a week and I usually pick the polish asap, so a pretty solid job. If I'm in the area I'll go again, the quality of the mani/pedi combo were worth the price. Tried this place for the first time and I should have known by how rude and rushed the person was on the phone when I called to make an appointment. When I got there, I wasn't greeted and had to figure out where I was supposed to sit. I put my purse on a chair and the lady grabbed it and slammed it on the shelf behind me. The mani pedi experience itself was pleasant and clean, but my nails started chipping a few hours later. After the pedicure was finished, the lady just got up and walked away. I asked when I should pay and she said "after" and Then proceeded to ignore me as I sat there for almost half an hour. I waited about 15 minutes until my technician got started, I didn't mind since I wasn't in a rush. I have been coming to Pristine Nails for over 5 years now. I have always been more than happy with their service, my nails always looked great and the staff is always friendly and they all do a great job. However, I stopped going here because I noticed that the gel nail's don't last anymore. In the past my gel nail polish would last me over 3-4 weeks, now it barely gets past 10 days. At first I thought it was just me because I've been doing gel for so long that my nails needed a break, but when I tried another salon, the color lasted me 4 weeks! I'm not sure if they changed something with the formula of their product but it definitely has to be something new with maybe their primer, base coat or top coat. I'm sad to leave Pristine Nails because it's so convenient and they are a friendly group, but it doesn't make sense to pay money for gel nails that barely get past a week. read more

Usual mediocre-but-conveniently located nail salon is closed on Tuesdays. Good for them, wildly inconvenient for me. So I went all Nancy Drew on the Yelp site and came across the fabulous new Pristine Nails on the outskirts of Glendale. I'm freaky about the clean and organized in my pedi places and this place will be my new go-to. The proprietors, Jessie and Mae are gracious hosts and the place is scrupulously clean - new tub liners after every pedicure, sanitized equipment, the works. They also have a terrific selection of polish colors -- not your standard issue -- I'm talking colors with pazazz. I was offered beverage of choice, a seat in a brand new massage chair, a current trashy mag (yea!), and a tub full of water the perfect temp for my piggies. And man! These women know how to execute a pedicure! Trimmed, squared, buffed, snipped and then polished to look like little pieces of perfect candy on the ends of my toes. Holy cow, my feet were so much cuter than the rest of my body when they were done, I had to go home and put on a new outfit. There seems to be some bad mojo being spread by the salon Jessie and Mae gave a month's notice to before departing to set up shop miles away (see previous review from obvious Mademoiselle plant "Selena"). This is very poor form and extremely unprofessional -- especially in a free market economy. Is there some sort of Mani Monarchy forming that nobody told me about? I think not. I've had several pedicures at their former place of work and while serviceable, they cannot hold a candle to the one I had today. Go Pristine! You rock! read more

I always come to this salon and was shocked that I have not yet written a yelp review yet. However, I felt like I had to write one today, unfortunately after having a negative experience. Generally, I have Anna do my nails but because it was the day before Thanksgiving, I felt that it would be easier for them to have anyone do my nails. A girl named Karen was working on my manicure while Anna did my pedicure. Karen cut my nails on my right hand so short and I was immediately shocked by it. (Tonight, I can actually feel the skin pinching and hurting because she cut them so short!!) I immediately told her not to cut the nails on my left hand as short. I also showed Anna, but she didn't seem to think it was an issue (not sure if it's bc her crazy controlling boss was watching her). Once the mani pedi were done, I went to pay and asked to speak with the manager who is the chubby & young Asian lady that always picks up the phone. I told her that Karen cut my nails super short and advised her that no ones nails should ever be cut that short (to where the skin is showing) and she immediately got really defensive and was raising her voice with me for several minutes. It was so offputting and honestly has tainted my impression of the salon despite Anna's generally good service. I will never come here again and will tell my friends to stay away!! The manager lady said in a voice with a lot of attitude: "What? Do you want me to not charge you for gel? Will that make you happy?" SO RUDE!!!! Ugh ugh ugh!!! read more

This place is fabulous! Best place to get your gel nails done! They have the most choice to pick from out of all of the places I have been too, & they last longer! I come out absolutely loving my nails every single time! The last time I was in there I was running late, so they had TWO girls doing my hands for me! One on either hand. Great customer service! I am also offered something to drink right when I get in the door. They make you feel so comfortable here. If you have not been, you must experience it! NOT impressed! Went in for a Mani/pedi today and came out bruised & battered. Well, not exactly but close enough. ;) The guy giving me the pedicure was SO rough, he was pulling on my cuticles rather than cutting them and caused me to bleed for a good ten minutes, then to torture me some more he decided to pour rubbing alcohol on it. What the heck, man?? He proceeded to scrub my feet with his scrubber tool and was repeatedly rubbing areas, like the tender side of my foot for instance, to the point of making them raw. The side of my foot now is a bit swollen with a nice sized cut. Special! The woman who gave me the manicure was super personable and sweet, but not really a talented manicurist. My nails came out pretty jaggedy (is that a word?? lol)... So ya, bottom line is they should hire some more experienced manicurists, and until then I shan't be returning. read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place and ended up having a super crappy experience. I went on a Sunday at around noon for a mani pedi, which I specifically asked for when I walked in, and even picked out TWO colors. I went with a gel manicure, and although the selection of colors was very small, the colors weren't all crazy glittery as I often run into, and I found a very pretty purple. Unfortunately, the girl seemed rushed and did a total half assed job. There are patches that are almost translucent and she didn't even do a top coat on one hand, so I have absolutely ZERO shine on my left hand. I would have normally noticed this before I left, but as she finished up my mani, the girl tells me if I want a pedi, I'm going to have to wait because they have two people with appointments coming in at 1pm. I don't have time to wait, I have to make it to a wedding and the point was to get both done as I had originally told her. At this point I'm super pissed and when I am paying ask for a discount because this now meant I was going to take my business elsewhere and pay MORE because I'm only getting a pedi. They first automatically said no but then finally gave me a whole $2 discount. Thanks to this places horrible time management, they've lost this first time customer. This is by far the WORST place I've been to, and I'm one to get my nails done every two weeks like clockwork, and am willing to pay for good work. I first came to this place because it's very close to my work, and the first two times I got my nails done there I was actually satisfied. However, the next few times not so much. First, when I chose a light color that in the sample seemed like a baby pink shade, in the bottle it was orange. The lady who runs the place convinced me that it would change once I place my hand in the uv light machine to reflect the baby pink color I see on the sample, and so it really did. It's just that during the first week when I exposed to the sun, it changed again to that orange peach color. Allow me to mention that I have NEVER seen gel colors which look SO Significantly different on the sample and in the bottle. Despite my bad experience I have them a few more chances, because like I mentioned earlier, they're very close to my work place which is convenient. However, today when I walked in after having called to make sure they would have time for me, I began looking at the gel colors and asked to see two of them in the bottle (since last time I was surprised to see a totally different color in the bottle). The lady showed me the colors, and again said, the colors as you see them in the bottle don't always reflect the true color of the gel, because they chant after putting them in the uv light. I responded saying that last time she told me this, it really did change, only to later change again under the natural sun to become of orange-yellow color. She replied saying "oh no our colors never change, is probably your make up." I said it is definitely not my make up, as I ALWAYS get light nail colors and it NEVER changes colors. She said it was my make up again, directly implying that I am lying. When I let it go and said if I can see he other color and wanted to hold the bottle, she said no you can hold the bottle I'm showing it to you! Very rudely and aggressively. This was when I decided I'm not going to support a business providing such poor customer service and I left. Would never walk in there again. Their work was also very poor after first two times I got my nails done there. Seems like once they felt I became a "regular" they allowed themselves to do a shoddy job. read more

Today while watching the news I learned that in order for a pedicure bath to really be clean the disinfectant needs to soak for 10 min.. So I'm glad pristine puts plastic in the bottom so that you're never touching the same area someone else's feet soaked .. I haven't seen this done anywhere else. I've been here twice now..
