I wish I could give these guys ten stars. I was so impressed with their efficiency and professionalism that I used them TWICE. I had an unexpected issue with the first place I moved into and they came back the very next day to move me into my lovely new home. They're very well organized and got my things packed up and unloaded much quicker than past movers I'd used, and without damage to any of my belongings. They were very nice and were sincerely a pleasure to work with. Hire them! read more

Prime Moving - Movers Near Me - Irvine, California

I'm still very upset about what happened with Akela moving company this weekend. I had scheduled my move two weeks in advance, and had a conversation with Akela himself, received the confirmation and everything. I arranged for a morning move as I had a family reunion in the afternoon/evening where I was to see all my family for the first time since the beginning of Covid. I organized everything thoroughly so the move would be quick and easy -- only to find out that they forgot to put me on the schedule and no movers were planning to come. The person on the phone was very apologetic and I understand it wasn't his fault -- but I just don't see how on earth this is acceptable. I ended up spending 8 hours (without any further communication from Akela moving about mover eta) carrying my own things up in multiple trips (see photo!) before they could get movers to me at 4:30 pm which meant I missed my entire reunion and lost a huge portion of the weekend that I had planned for unpacking. The company didn't try to do anything to offset what happened. In fact, because I had moved so much of my own stuff, the move took less than 3 hours and they STILL charged me the 3 hour minimum! I'm just in awe that this could be handled so horribly. Because of this I also am now having to turn in my keys later and incurring an extra charge from my landlord. This is just the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I cannot believe it happened. I chose Akela because I wanted to support a smaller business and I saw all the great reviews but clearly I made a mistake. (A note: this absolutely reflects on the office, the two guys that helped me were fantastic, very understanding of the situation, and hustling to help me move asap) read more

Searching for a good moving company in a large city can be very difficult. Companies are over priced, have hidden fees, or ride on their reputation to charge a lot of money. Personally, I'm fine with all of that, but when it came time to move from one end of the city to the other, the quotes were astronomical. This company was recommended to me by a close friend and I can't be happier with the way it went. They arrived early and parked the truck in place, then called exactly on time to let us know they were there. They let us know how long the process would be and they were exactly right with the estimate. They didn't overcharge for any of their services and they were kind, communicating well through the entire process. To top it off, they even helped assemble my bedding at the end of the day, which was pretty damn awesome of them. I can't recommend them enough. Well priced, punctual and thoughtful, start to finish. I fully endorse using Akela moving. It was a great experience. read more

I recently used Prime Moving to move my belongings from my apartment into storage while I am in between places. I reached out to them using the Yelp project recommendations AI feature. The online staff provided detailed and clear information about their services. There were no hidden charges, and all potential additional costs were clearly communicated upfront. They were relatively flexible with scheduling, and even after I accidentally signed for the wrong day on the quote when I reached out they quickly responded and assured me of the proper date. On the day of the move, Sam and Nur arrived PRECISELY on time and were very professional and efficient, even after having to shift some things to make things work with my apartment day of. They handled my belongings carefully and ensured everything was packed and transported safely, and were incredibly helpful in packing the smaller items I hadn't secured as nicely I had wanted to since I was handling the move by myself. The service exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Wonderful. Thank you again to Sam and Nur for their wonderful professionalism and support. read more

They did a great job with my short distance move! Communication was easy and reliable, and they offer a great deal. Great job, the team hustled and were very mindful of items. Thank you to the team and the responsiveness.

Jake and Usman were amazing! We had a few heavy items left and TVs on the wall. They wrapped everything amazingly and everything arrived in wonderful shape. They were complete gentleman and kept us laughing at every interaction. They were professional and very hard working, making sure to get the job done to completion and in a timely fashion. I would 100% recommend this company, it was my first time dealing with professional movers and I will never go back to moving myself, it was too convenient and more than worth it for the price! If you're on the fence about getting movers, have this be your sign that you need them, especially this company. Thanks again Akela Movers! read more

Adam and Tunga were great today! Super speedy and efficient. My move was done in less than three hours! My roommate, who moved with another company, spent over four hours during her move and it was much more stressful. The only hiccup was they were supposed to arrive between 8am-10am but ended up getting to my place around 2:30pm. I got a text about it late the night before, though, so I slept in a little more and it worked out. They guaranteed my move would be completed the day I wanted and they followed through! They were also very careful with all of my belongings and made sure to wrap everything up (my roommate's movers dinged up her AC). Recommend them for any future moves! read more

My husband and I used Akela Moving to move items from a public storage unit into a pod shipment container for our out-of-state move. Throughout the whole process, the company was great. The guys that came to work for our move worked incredibly hard the entire time. Packing the pod was a pretty complicated process but the guys did a fantastic job! They were extremely creative about making sure every space was filled and they also took the time to reinforce everything with straps (that we provided) so that our items would be safe. They did arrive a little bit after their projected window (I think because we are located in OC and the company is from LA), which was fine with us because they still stayed until the job was done. Kind group of guys who really do work hard. Would highly recommend them for your next move! read more
