My eldest daughter and I were at Hooked on Poke (HOP) for a poke bowl run. Presotea happens to share the same space as HOP located on the 1st floor in the Carlsbad Village Faire Shops. They even share the same employees. The two ladies from HOP were the same two ladies who made our Presotea drink. They have a couple self-ordering kiosks. It was easy to use. I wanted a fruit smoothie. My go-to is the avocado smoothie so I ordered that. I don't know what came over me to select 75% sweetness. I usually go for 100% especially for the first time getting the drink. I can adjust for subsequent times. Anyway, the avocado smoothie didn't have the level of sweetness I was hoping for. It was a little bland. Avocado isn't sweet in the first place so it needs a boost from some source of sugar. It wasn't bad, but it could have been better. They had a good variety of other tea and boba drinks. Despite of my mediocre avocado smoothie, I would still recommend Presotea to anyone who's looking for a good drink to quench their thirst. read more

UPDATED May 2025 I ordered my usual - Oolong milk tea. While the tea smelled good right out of the can, when I got it I tasted more milk than tea. When they first opened I was told they use non-dairy creamer, but when I went today I was told they use regular milk and I could sub for oat. I subbed for oat and I think the ratio of milk to tea was way too much. Sadly I have to knock off a star due to the inconsistency. WHEN THEY FIRST OPENED.. Presotea is relatively new to the Carlsbad area, and I'm glad they're here! They are our new favorite in North County and they have a variety of teas on their menu. There are 2 self-service monitors to order from. Milk teas * Start at $5.75 and can go up to $6.55 Flavored tea $5.25 for crafted tea (green or black teas - white peach oolong, lychee black, roasted hojicha, roasted oolong, etc) Blendeds * smoothies, slushes, clouds, and range from $6.99 to $7.25 Fruit tea * 5.75-5.99 They also have coffee and seasonal offerings. I didn't know Panda meant black and white boba :) so IYKYK! Hard to find on Google Maps, but it's located inside Hooked on Poke. They have a touchscreen menu specifically for Preso Tea which can't be missed upon entry. We ordered the milk tea with boba and a white peach oolong tea with crystal boba. Once the order is entered and paid for, a ticket is printed and they start your order behind the counter. Very interesting setup and the teas were ready within 5-10 minutes. Hubby had the milk tea with boba and the boba was very soft. It felt like a soft jelly rather than its usual chewy texture we're familiar with, but I think they overcooked theirs. My white peach tea was perfect and I love crystal boba. I love that crunchy chewy texture as opposed to warm fresh boba. We ended up hanging out inside for a bit and we were the only people there for a good hour. They have about 3-4 tables inside if you were to dine in and the shop is really clean. read more

It looked as though teas were brewed per order, which took a little longer to prepare. So, when you opt for the less ice option, it may come out with no ice at all since it melted into the hot, warm tea. Drinks were standard tasting, similar to other shops. My friend and I wanted to grab some boba to quench our thirst from the heat and a salty yet delicious lunch. We had walked by this shop earlier and the name sounded very familiar to me... which then I realized was a huge chain from Taiwan! Never tried it but was excited to. The location that my friend and I went to is located with a joint shop, Hooked On Poke, in Village Faire on Carlsbad Village Dr in Carlsbad. There's a parking lot with ample stalls but could be very difficult to find especially on the weekends. It took us a while to find a stall. I got their Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with 50% sweetness, and this drink was well needed on this hot day. The drink was also very delicious with more of a tea flavor which I loved! Definitely enjoyed it a lot. My friend got their Ceylon Black Tea at normal sweetness, and I was thoroughly impressed. For regular black tea, they really brought the tea flavor out. YUM. Would be deciding between this and oolong next time! They had two sample flavors out for customers to try. One was regular milk tea and the other was Thai Tea. I overheard one of the workers talk about their Thai Tea, saying how it had a coconut flavor. I had to try it as I've never heard of Thai Tea with a strong coconut taste... and it did have a strong coconut taste. Honestly not a favorite at all. But my roasted oolong was delicious! I was kind of hoping there was a location actually close in San Diego but there was nooonnneee. This was the closest location SAD. This another authentic Taiwanese boba tea franchise in Carlsbad. It is located inside of Hooked on Sushi which is next to Gunzo ramen behind the Sleeping Tigers Coffee/Witch Creek wine. The store is clean and nice. Light music..pleasant and not too loud. We ordered the tea at Kiosk. The tea is ready after 5 min. We ordered roasted oolong tea and green tea. The tea is decent from a Taiwanese perspective. :) I tasted the mature oolong tea flavor without artificial flavor. My friend enjoyed her tea. The staff offered tea samples on the counter. The A/C was strong which was much needed on a warm day. There are 3-4 tables. Most people ordered to-go. Not many people in the afternoon. Worst service ever. I picked out two teas and ordered them at the kiosk. I included a tip for the teas. Barista (wore a Knot on the top of her head and the slightly heavier of the two baristas) started making the teas and I had a quick question. I said "excuse me" and she ignored me without making eye contact. This is the only thing I ever said. No words necessary for her to communicage the message "I am making this tea as fast as I can so you can get the hell out of here." She did not even call my name when the teas were done and just left them on the counter after her coworker had just called another customer to the counter with their teas. Terrible attitude. Regret leaving a tip. She deserved none at all. Will think twice before ever tipping in advance for service. I did nothing to elicit the terrible attitude and makes me wonder if she spits in all the teas she makes because that is the venom she gives off in her attitude. read more
