Went in sometime this past week because I was craving boba and as ridiculous as it sounds, there was no boba. Super disappointing. I've been giving this place chance after chance after new ownership and it's simply not what it used to be. Sometimes you don't have to keep up with trends and modernize a shop. I've always loved the convenience of this location to grab a quick boba. Their hours are usually pretty available too which makes it ideal! I've had great teas in the past and my last visit was no exception. I recently did ask for a lychee fruit tea with lychee jelly and was asked do you mean like a milk tea, to which I responded yes. Little did I know that made my order a lychee milk tea with lychee jelly. I just assumed I was being asked to be made like a milk tea with just tea, not milk added. When I received my drink, I noticed there was milk just due to coloring and honestly just gave it a try since I was in a rush. It wasn't bad, so I just kept it and continued on with my day. I ordered Thai milk tea and passionfruit lemonade via Uber eats. They made these drinks with ice (I asked for no ice). The Thai tea looked creamy and had black residuals in it. They took them back and made me new ones which was nice. However it took a long time to get my order because of the mistakes. I also ordered churros. They were ok. The service was great though. The space was a decent size. There's an arcade machine, a claw machine and some tables for hanging out. I would say this is not my boba place of choice but i would go back if there's no other good boba places around. read more

Bubble Tea has been around for a long time when Vons used to be the grocery store next to it instead of the current Aldi's. They have new management/owners. I brought my daughter and her friend to their pop-up ramen night on Thursday, 1/9/25 between 6-9pm. We had their ramen (see pic) and it was delish. The drinks were yummy! Not too sweet. My daughter's friend tried their fries and was good. Go check it out! They also do fundraisers as they already helped the MHHS music program last Spring of 2024. read more

DO NOT BUY ANYDRINKS UNTILL THEY RESOLVE THE ISSUES!!!!! I am writing this review to share a truly unacceptable experience I had at this bubble tea shop. I ordered a boba slush and, after taking a few sips, I found a hair inside my drink. Initially, I hoped it was on the outside of the cup, but upon trying to remove it, I realized it was completely submerged inside the slush. I have pictures to confirm this. This incident is not just a minor mistake; it points to a serious and concerning lack of cleanliness. While taste can be subjective, basic hygiene is a non-negotiable standard for any food and drink establishment. Finding a hair in my drink is not only disgusting but also a potential health hazard. The owners and management of this store need to address their cleanliness standards immediately. I believe the staff needs a complete retraining on food safety and hygiene protocols. I highly recommend that food inspectors visit this location to ensure the public's safety. Until these issues are resolved, I strongly advise against purchasing drinks from this place. Kinda disappointed with this place. Went in tonight at 8:30pm (they close at 9pm) and I order a large ice cream blueberry drink with boba. Girl hands me a drink that clearly doesn't look like an ice cream shake. Mind you- I've been coming here since I was 16..that's all I order lol I look at it and looks like it just an iced drink. I ask her if it had ice cream and she said yes. Big lie! (Look at picture attached) I did say well usually it looks creamy.. and she just stood there and then said "well it has dairy" I was going to tell her to remake it but it looked like she just wanted to close down (because they had everything stacked and ready to close) so I took myself to Mc Donald's to buy myself a soft served vanilla ice cream so I can add to my drink. Used to visit here often when my girlfriend lived in San Marcos. They were the OG of boba up in these neck of the woods. Long before the heavy hitters like Sharetea, Kung Fu, Happy Lemon and Ding Tea opened up. Still reasonably priced and clean. It's an excellent choice for boba. Not sure what to say but never waited this long for a smoothie before. I'm still waiting for my order they have literally 1 guy in there making drinks not crowded maybe 4 people ahead of me. Drinks are coming out every 5-6 minutes. I've been waiting for over 15 minutes already and the guy is barely able to handle making one drink at a time. What a hidden gem of a boba shop! The yummy drinks and friendly staff made my visit delightful. Sean's recommendation of the winter melon black tea boba was 10/10! I've been making it a point to try all the boba tea shops in the area and "Bubble Tea" was next on my list. I like they're open really late so you can satiate those nighttime boba cravings. The shop is your standard strip mall establishment with some comfy couches up front you can sit on while waiting for your drinks. The boba in these drinks was harder than I prefer but it was still "okay". I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again but I would get another drink if I'm in the area. Came here and ordered your plain-old milk tea with boba. I went in with already low expectations because I knew this wasn't Convoy. But oh boy... this was really bad LOL.... The boba tasted old and stale. The milk tea was extremely watery and tasteless of any tea or milk. My boyfriend and I wholeheartedly agreed that we'd never come back again. The guy working here was super nice though. I'm very surprised at the negative reviews for this place. I've been going to Bubble Tea for close to 15 years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always very friendly and the boba drinks I get are delicious. I usually get a banana/strawberry shake with boba or some other combination of flavors and I've never had a complaint! Okay go ahead and gasp. I am a foodie that has never tried boba until now. ((GASP)) well I took a crew with me to this location. We each tried a different flavor, peach, rose, mango and strawberry. I went with mango because I like all things flavored with that so if I didnt like it I would at least go out with a taste that I prefer. The location itself is in a shopping center area so it was small and quiet when we went in. One guy was working, and he messed up the order. It was no big deal he just made it right. Two out of the four of us now love boba. The other two including myself thinks it just A OK. I dont get the hype of those lil chewy balls. I love this place, very friendly and nice service, and some of them know my order by heart. They have a wide variety of flavor options. But a little expensive at $3 to $6 depending on size, style, flavor and add ins. Great tasting bubble tea with boba, and a punch card so when you by 10 you get 1 small single boba free. My only gripe is if you always by large with double boba that is what you should get as your free one, not a small single boba. They do charge an extra $.50 to use a card, so bring cash. You get the option of choosing green or black tea with your flavored milk teas. Never had that option before, but I liked having that option. I got taro milk tea (black) with boba. It was really good. Sweeter than I normally like, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pearls had a great texture and consistency. The place is pretty small and looks like a 1 man shop but the service was friendly. Note that they charge 25c if you use a credit/debit card. I probably wouldn't make this my go-to boba place, but it's a good option when I'm in the area. read more

Stopped by to fill a late-night boba craving a few nights ago, and I thought this was the only place open (a certain national chain had a soft opening). Bubble Tea isn't anything to rave about, nor is it particularly bad. Service was lackluster, there was one employee at the time, who, despite having three drink orders to fill for two customers, stepped out from behind the counter to chat with a customer about rap artists. The drinks are "meh." Another reviewer noted the mushy texture of the boba, and they were right. The tapioca pearls had little bite; you could have no teeth and chew them with just gums. The tea didn't seem fresh, and had a strange aftertaste. Though my late-night craving was fulfilled, a more consistent national chain just had their grand opening two miles away, and are almost open as late as Bubble Tea. Meh. I've definitely experienced better. Bubble Tea makes their drinks by using powder and syrup. (EW!) I truly wanted to walk out when my boy friend and I entered the place, but we decided to give it a chance. Oh man, was I right about how the drinks tasted. It either was too sweet and they did not know how to mix the drinks well enough. It is seriously not the same when it comes using powder and syrup versus adding real fruit when making these types of drinks. So don't expect much! The staff members also tried their best to give us some recommendations, but of course that failed miserably because the drinks were totally meh!! Bubble Tea is one of the few coffee and tea places that is opened late (midnight) in San Marcos. It is surprisingly crowded, but I get why it is because it's like the only boba place that is open late in this area. The next closet boba spot I've tried to look up was either in a different city or too far away. So therefore, most likely people will not want to travel that far just to get drinks. Also, the decor of the place is not cute at all. There's not enough room and areas to sit at. The place also smells like B.O. which makes you want to leave as soon as you get your drinks. Overall, I do have to give it the benefit of the doubt that they are trying. Bubble Tea is doing people justice by making meh-like coffee and tea drinks for the time being. They just need to watch out if another place ever opens up near them (and late too). If you are stopping by in this area, then I suggest rethinking about whether you would like to go to Bubble Tea, but if you just want to get a quick fix then don't expect that the drinks are going to taste amazing. I have only been coming to this location for about a year. I only get one drink here - mocha coconut icy slush. The first few visits someone different would make my drink and the taste was never consistent or close to consistent. It would either be too watery or not in mocha or too much coconut. Now, it is much, much better. I also noticed that those other employees are no longer there. This location is across the street from San Marcos High school. Once school is out for the day, this place is jam packed with high school kids. Other than that, the place is pretty chill and they are open till midnight. I bought a bubble tea with boba and didn't ask for the large but the girl charged me for the large size automatically so I ended up with a large drink even though I wanted a regular-sized drink. For those looking for a study spot, this is not the ideal study spot. There are not many outlets and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable to sit in. If you need to use the bathroom, you need to go through the kitchen area. They only use powders and syrups in their drinks. No fresh fruit. All hot snacks are $5.50. I ordered the popcorn chicken and a Thai iced tea with boba. The popcorn chicken was more fried bits and less meat; their Thai tea was strong; and the boba was chewy, but smaller than usual.
