As far as diners go, this is by far the best one I have ever been to. The food is delicious and the portions are over the top HUGE. The service is always great, the place is impeccably clean and it is an attractive place to dine. I am convinced that it is a fine dining establishment masquerading as a diner. It is always worth the stop on the way to or from the Hamptons. Kudos! read more

This is one of the better diners on Long Island and it's hard to go wrong here. This may seem like a stupid complaint, but for some dishes, the portions can be overwhelmingly huge. Service is good and pretty fast. Since I usually have salads, I am super picky about freshness, and this Premier passes that test. read more

We had a really nice dinner at a usually wonderful diner.. it was great till I grabbed one of the cookies on the way out.. large black hair.. said to the cashier.. this is disgusting.. she says oh that happens because they are left here because all the people walk by and are touching them.. meanwhile the hair was inside of the cookie.. so I ask for the manager.. a young guy who has no clue about customer service..comes over after the cashier stated the managers arent around.. I tell him what happened.. he says ok do you want a large cookie instead.. so im thinking yes I want a huge cookie so i can get a larger hair in my mouth this time.. guy says what do you want.. I said some consideration.. he says Im not giving you anything.. he says have a nice night.. I say FCK YOU and Moonlight was great btw.. we wont ever come here again.. Moved to the area recently and heard this was a really good diner. So on a rainy Saturday, I took my pops there for a late breakfast. The place was packed and after putting our name on the list, we were seated at a booth within ten minutes. We ordered breakfast which I thought took unusually long to come out (just eggs and fries) and the food was not hot, just warm. I usually would send the food back but we were so hungry (1:30pm) and we just wanted to eat. What I found quite peculiar was that the food was served on the smallest plates so we had to ask the waitress for an extra plate to put some of the food on, and we didn't get that plate or see our waitress until the end of the meal. The waitress was very nice but something about the service in this place is "off". Food was tasty though. Might give it one more chance to get it right. read more

I been to many different breakfast places and this one was alright I got two egg omelettes no drinks for just under 30$ which is I guess normal. We were in town for a wedding and this was the first place we stopped when we got to our hotel. Breakfast was great! The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly and the service was friendly and quick. We liked it so much that we came back for dinner another time and the sandwiches were just as delicious. The only drawback to this place was that a lot of the specialty dinners were steeply priced for our budget, but there are many delicious and inexpensive options. Sat there for 35 minutes without someone coming to our table to ask if we want anything to drink. We got up to leave and I couldn't even say anything to the manager because he was screaming at a poor old lady because she said she had one grill cheese sandwich and he was insisting she pay for two! Best diner on Long Island. I usually get egg white omelet with turkey bacon and a little feta. TO DIE FOR - and great for the waistline. If you're not worried about your waistline, try the pancakes - CRAZY GOOD. The owners are super friendly and nice. I get take out from this place weekly. LOVE IT. read more

Went for dinner because it's next door to the hotel. Place was packed so I sat at the counter. Service was great, waitress was friendly enough. Had the chicken pot pie which was huge but had very little chicken in it. The place is a little expensive. $25 for a chicken pot pie I expect to get lots more chicken. To be fair it did come with salad and dessert neither of which I had with my meal. I'm giving it three stars even though I'm on the fence. read more

Premier diner is my go to spot anytime I'm local near Brentwood, NY. The folks here are customer service oriented, fast, and the food menu is wide ranging. I enjoy the french toast, omelettes, and their variety of salads. The waitresses' that i have encountered are attentive and ensure that you have all of the condiments and silverware necessary. Stopped in after a baseball tournament figuring it was like any other diner and we could get a quick reasonably priced lunch with plenty of options to choose from. Was I wrong. It was the most over priced diner I have ever been into. The service was beyond slow and non-attentive. We were never checked on or asked if we needed refills on drinks until the check came. The hostess was snobby and rude when we walked in and when we paid. Food was average at best and that is being nice as I am trying to figure out why this place is still in business. I can't believe a diner can get away with charging $17.50 for a chicken Caesar wrap. Then again I guess once you sit down like I did you feel like you have to order something. The lunch special menu was filled with items all over $20 for lunch. I can't imagine they get repeat customers. Probably just out of town suckers like myself. Really good diner. Good food, excellent portions the only drawback is there is almost always a wait to be seated....very convenient off the LI Expressway @ Exit 52N. Great place to stop and eat to break up ride out to the Hamptons or North fork. Breakfast, lunch or dinner you can't go wrong. I can't understand why this place is popular. I gave it another chance after a long while away. The hamburger was old and although I asked for it to be cooked medium it was overdone and dry. I wouldn't be surprised if this was cooked hours before and just thrown on the grill to reheat. They should have more pride in what they serve. Will not be going back there. read more

Went with my daughter ordered a gyro she ordered a chicken salad wrap. Waitress was great. Coleslaw was inedible - it tasted like soap. My gyro was okay but lacking flavor - same for my daughters wrap. All you could taste was lettuce and 'bread paper', as she called it. Lol We had a great time laughing over how the salt and water were both good. Cant really compliment anything else. Oh except the curly fries were awesome. I ordered the turkey bacon club to be picked up. Service was fast as it was ready in 15 mins. It came with coleslaw, pickle and FF. The turkey slices in the sandwich was so dry it was borderline inedible. I was so hungry I slathered Mayo on it (which didn't help) and chocked it down. On the other hand the coleslaw, pickles and FF were really yummy! I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, I was staying next door at the Hampton Inn and the diner was next door so it was very convenient. read more

This may be the best American/Diner breakfast I've ever had. As good as a top-notch bed and breakfast. I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes w a side of bacon. My husband ordered the Farmer's omelette w home fries. Everything was delicious, 100%. The servers were friendly and also very attentive, refilling coffee and water and checking in. The place was very crowded (was a beautiful Sunday morning), but we didn't have to wait for a table, and our food arrived quickly. Plenty of parking. read more

Salmonella poisoning. Whole family. Absolutely disgusting. And I'm not ignorant, I get that it can happen anywhere if a simple mistake was made by an employee. But, we called to let them know (to try and prevent future outbreaks), and were told come here in person if you want a refund. We didn't want a refund, just to prevent others from getting sick! my deluxe hamburgers are ok at best and expensive. I like the staff but can't seem to feel ok about the food. Even the eggs and bacon i had yesterday were fair. Open turkey last week , fair. Maybe i'm getting old and too critical. My advice, slow down the cooking, spend more on your meats, and lower the price a bit. They are always packed so they are free to take their time to improve. A gold mine for the owners, this diner is ALWAYS packed. I remember when it used to the the Ground Round and it was a complete dive. Premier has been open for a few years and it seems like the prices have increased exponentially, yet the food quality has remained mediocre. There is always a wait when you go there but the line moves pretty quick. There is nothing else in the area that compares, and they must be doing something right. read more

We usually frequent the Lake Grove Diner - when wanting to eat at a diner - because it is closest to our home, and because the prices are fair, & the food is typically good. We never dine there expecting fabulous food, and so we have been typically content. Last night, at the suggestion of friends, we went to the Premier Diner in Commack, right off the LIE. The place was packed & the aesthetics seemed good - a positive sign. The dishes were around 1/3 more expensive than the Lake Grove Diner, but we ordered hoping there was justification for the increase in price. I ordered a large Greek salad with an accompanying order of salmon, my husband ordered steak & eggs, & our son ordered a bowl of onion soup and a plate of fried mozzarella sticks (fair mix of very different food). My dish, not inexpensive - was disappointing. The Greek salad was a large bowl of CUT-UP ICEBERG lettuce, smothered in mediocre-tasting feta, hard & flavorless grape tomatoes; void of pepperochini. The cucumbers were tasty & the thinly sliced onion was a treat. The accompanying "Greek" dressing was boring (seemingly void of oregano). The side order of salmon was substantial, fresh and not over-cooked, but void of any seasoning or smoke-flavor from a grill. Later in the car, before giving my critical assessment (which I know can be picky & tough), I asked my husband and son their opinion of the food. My husband was clearly disappointed in his accompanying steak - which he had realized was not going to be like a steak ordered as a main course, but even our son was miffed. He felt the onion soup - although hot & comforting in its plethora of cheese topping - was not made with a flavorable broth. He even shunned his mozzarella sticks, which I think should be an excellent dish at a diner. The experience reaffirmed my belief that most Americans are satisfied with very mediocre food (evidenced by the popularity of Red Lobster & Olive Garden), and that I am in the minority while hoping that my next restaurant experience will defy my expectations. read more

Arrived at 11:20pm when they have a listed closing time of midnight. We wanted a quick bite after a concert in NYC on the way home. Gus, the old man owner, was very rude to us telling us they were closing in 15 minutes as it was 11:45pm. Uh, no buddy it was 11:20pm and I showed him the time on my phone. He reluctantly sat us after I basically refused to leave because my dining companion has autism and had his heart set on eating there. 40 minutes is a sufficient amount of time to serve two guests and for us to eat what we are served when all we wanted was salad and chicken fingers. I return to this diner only because my buddy loves it here because they have a good bread basket, chicken fingers and cake. That's about all that's good besides their blue cheese dressing. Every time I try something different and each time I'm disgusted. Not to mention their prices are outrageous. They charge $4.10 for a glass of apple juice when a whole gallon of Motts costs $4.99. For two of us to eat plus an Apple juice and a coke was $55. For a salad, a tuna wrap and some chicken fingers. When we went to pay the same old man owner, Gus, didn't even thank us or wish a good night. And we were out of there by 11:50pm. Never going back. read more

Let me just say I use to frequent this place a lot with my friends, but I don't anymore, just figured I would give an honest review. For breakfast food, is pretty descent, if you go here on weekends their is usually a wait, service is usually ok. At other times for lunch and dinner, even slow times food is usually descent to great depending what you order but service can be very bad at times, also they don't seem to try to be accomodating if you ask them something about their menu for a change or substitution. They are a little on the pricey side as far as bill goes, I don't mind paying it but I expect good food and great service. I think on my receipt one day when I paid I wrote horrible service on it, and the person taking my receipt and credit card didn't even ask me anything about my meal or she would have gotten an earful. read more
